A carribean vibe and a solid Dominican restaurant. A staple in the Greensboro area. Been here plenty of times and they never miss. Stay busy but move fast and courteous. Highly recommend!

I'm Dominican and I can say whole heartedly that this is as authentic as it gets. Everything from the chicken to the Los Tres Golpes brings me back to what we ate in the DR, and my Abuela's cooking. It's delicious and full of flavor and if you're looking for Caribbean flavors you've got to check this place out!

We have been looking for some good Mofongo and we have found it. Combo has very good mofongo, chunks pork with a side salad. Many Spanish dishes to choose from as well as drinks. They have sitting area or to go. Service was fast and you will be greeted with a smile. Great price for a lot of food. Sitting area is comfortable and pleasant. Yes we do recommend this location for some good Spanish Food

Great food for the price. Costumer service is wonderful here too, great people too. Dominican rep. is a nice country to visit.

Food for the soul! I love eating at La Palma. Hands down the best tostones in Greensboro! They are crunchy, large, and golden fried perfection. The ambience is pure Dominican culture from the moment you enter the restaurant. The employees are bilingual and extremely friendly! They have delicious daily specials and a large menu. I have eaten here several times and am never let down. My last visit there, I ordered the Mofongo con Chicharron de Cerdo (fried pork belly). The mofongo is garlicky, buttery, goodness. The fried pork belly, crispy on the outside, is a flavor explosion, while the crunchy side salad and secret vinaigrette add a refreshing touch to the dish.

Absolute favorite place to eat! The staff is so kind and friendly they feel like family at this point. There's literally nothing I've tasted from here that is bad-nothing. My favorite item is the roasted pernil platter. It comes with rice and beans. My favorite is the rice and pigeon peas but it's not always available. Anytime you can get the yellow rice, definitely do. If I don't get those I get the white rice and pintos which are equally good. It comes with a side salad but I normally swap it out for another. Like I said everything is good-my favorite is the tostones but the plantains, mac and cheese, and roasted yucca. I'm getting hungry all over again thinking about it. You seriously can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's also one of the few restaurants in Greensboro that still had the option to dine in. The patrons are always friendly and like I mentioned it just feels like home. Great establishment, great food, and great staff.

Outstanding Cuban sandwich with sweet plantains and the yuca beef bollitos were awesome. Food was ready when I picked it up and still hot and fresh! Great family friendly atmosphere with wonderful service!

All I have to say is the beef empanada and mango juice didn't make it home with the take out order! You know it's good when you can't wait until you get home. Flaky, hot(temp), crispy, savory, sweet and salty with the addition of ketchupmayo paired with the cold, sweet mango juice!! Yum!!!!

Came for a light snack and I'll certainly be back. Today I tried the Bollitos de Papa (cheese) and the Empanada (chicken). The potato ball was delicious... mashed potatoes formed around cheese then deep fried... it doesn't get much better than that. The empanada was great but mine was a big air pocket with only a tiny bit of filling. However what I did get was delicious and that means I just need to go back and try again!

"Delicious Honduran food just south of I-85 on Guess Rd in Durham"…read more Came here on a Saturday evening a little after 6pm-- this is the building that used to be "Pad Thai" a few years ago. There's parking out front, but not a ton, and a bit more along the side. Inside, there's a counter by the door with a register and mints (and probably where one would pickup takeout), but you wait to get seated. The place was bright with interesting Central American paintings and lively music. A few tables were taken but it was hardly what I'd call "busy". I ordered the Tajada con carne molida (fried plantains with ground beef) off the "Honduran menu". My dining partner had a creamy chicken mofongo. We also had Jarritos sodas-- I got the pineapple and she had the tamarind. One awkwardness was that the menu didn't have any prices, but I assumed (correctly) that nothing would be crazy expensive that we ordered (though weirdly the tamarind and pineapple Jarritos were different prices). Service was good-- although English was a second language, our server made do, accurately took our order, and was attentive. As other reviewers noted, this is not a speedy place-- I think it was at or maybe over 20 minutes to get our food, but that was fine. Both dishes were really good. The creamy sauce on the mofongo was to-die-for... so yummy. And I enjoyed my plantain/ beef dish-- my dining partner said it was somewhat analogous to "nachos" in a funny way, and she's not wrong. The plantains were pretty stiff-- almost like plantain chips, but still yummy, and the beef and accompaniments were excellent (see photo). The quantity was HUGE-- both of us had enough easily for a second meal. Price wasn't bad-- with the drinks and tax and tip, it was slightly over $50 total. Overall, I'm very happy we tried this place, and I have every intention of coming back.

I love how they had a lot of drink options, including fountain drinks, and special lemonades. We got here on the late side for lunch, and found there to be several different options for ordering. You could wait in line and order with a cashier, you could do a self service kiosk, or you could order from a QR code at a table. We ended up grabbing a table and opting to do it with a QR code. Everything was very clear, and I like that they showed what was popular immediately. I opted for a Boricua Soul Bowl, which I'd sampled during a food tour a few years back- then I tried it with chicken, so today I opted for shrimp. I feel like you really should go with pork since that's the default, and a mainstay of Puerto Rican cuisine and soul food, but alas I have an aversion to pork so I can't. I was also intrigued by the jackfruit option- there's something for everyone! My husband went for a platter with pork, which he said was delicious and rich. The Mac and cheese was amazing, and the collards were to DIE FOR! They have four house made sauces, which were a very fun way to add different flavors (I doused mine in Guava!). Since I've now been, I understand that there are many different methods of ordering, but I'm not sure I understand if there's a benefit or staff preference to one over another. I think one thing I might do in the future is order online (if you're using Toast Tab anyway, might as well order in advance) and then sit outside after I arrive. It took about 30 minutes to get our food, which probably means everything is made to order and fresh (as opposed to sitting around) so that's great, but I was STARVING by the time we got our food. Will definitely be back!

The interior of the space is simple but perfect -- there are flyers on the walls for local shows and concerts, which I always love to see in a local place. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the owner is often around to chat and make recommendations. But the real standout is the food. My god. Every bite of food that I've had at Boricua Soul has been a delight. Really, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu, but if you aren't trying the sweet potato cheesecake empanadas, you aren't living. Those perfectly sweet and savory fried treasures brightened my entire outlook on the world because they're just that good. 10000/10 points. You gotta go.
