I was very excited to try this place for authentic food. My waitress was Kaylee and she was so sweet and accommodating. Unfortunately I ordered the pork and it was so dry I could barely eat it. The rice and beans were excellent though. Beautiful beachside restaurant and bar. I would like to return and try additional menu items. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the prices were very reasonable. Sonido-del-Mar was our first meal in Aguadilla/Isabela, right after arrival. We wanted to eat by the beach and this place fit the bill with an open floor plan, nice breeze, ocean sounds, and a full menu. We started with a piña colada for me and a coke for the hubby, followed by the Carne frita (fried pork), seafood stew, mofongo and a side order of rice and beans. Food was tasty and relatively simple; we really enjoyed the carne frita, mofongo and rice and beans. Service was excellent, and our table, a high-top in the bar area, afforded us a view to the sea and great breeze. Restaurant is on the beach (Jobos) with amazing view and a nice Breeze. We got here around 4 pm after landing at BQN. Ordered the pork monfongo and the meat platter. Everything was good, not out of this world, but good and the service was prompt. If you want to sit by the beach, sip some cold beer and have some nosh. This is the place to try. Food was fine and view was great. Issue is thiefs are watching your stuff and looking to rob you. I was there 02/08/25 at 1:00 pm.. As we were leaving at 2:00 pm... I noticed my backpack was missing.. Managenmet told me to come back monday to look at video .. :( Way too late for me. Managment said.. There is a ring of thiefs working this beach all the time. I filed a police report at police headquarters.. Same info was repeated.. This happens all the time.. Beware of thieves in this area. Update 02/10/25 Spoke with Edwin on phone at 12:20pm Monday.. We summarize the situation that happened. Sent photos of us. Provided police case number to him.. We were informed they will not start looking at video till we have police number.. i was not told Saturday that they were waiting on this informatiom before they will review thier security videos. :( read more

Fabuluos restaurant! We came here after a long day at the beach. The parking lot is small, but you can park on the street. They have a beautiful balcony with a view of the ocean. We sat down and the server came right away with the menu. The food and drinks were excellent. Isabella town is a beautiful town that is a must if you come to Puerto Rico. Very close to Los Jobos Beach in Isabella, the restaurant/bar does not disappoint when it comes to core Puerto Rican dishes: whole fried fish (chillo ), arroz mamposteado and churrasco. The fried whole fish is sold by the pound (21.95 during this visit) . The arroz mamposteado is a great accompaniment to any entree. This side dish is well seasoned, moist and full of flavor. Located is beautiful. Restaurant overlooks Hobo beach in Isabella,PR. Nicely decorated and reasonably clean facility. Order a large appetizer with traditional local food. Fried plantains, fried cheese, calamari, corn sticks and fried fish bites. Served with traditional guyave paste and sauces. Fish tacos were great and very large portion considering the size ( see photo). I ordered grilled chicken with sautéed onions on top with rice and beans. Very tasty and delicious. Hubby ordered fresh local fish (red snapper). Presentation was great but said it was over cooked and a bit dry. Served with drawn butter but just didn't hit the mark in comparison to other locations that serve this food option. Would defy return for a bite to eat after being in the sun. Our food was good but the service was very slow, our food took about 2 hours to come out and the restaurant was not even that busy.

First time here and I got to say that cocktails and the food is really good. I ordered shrimp cocktail and octopus cocktail and both were delicious. The waitress that took care of us prepared an original Mojito, and a moscu mule and it was terrific, strongly recommend this place to get away from the business and relax in front of the ocean to have peace of mind. read more

Stopped here after a relaxing day on Jobos Beach. My husband and I asked for two Madallas, the bartender retrieved these form the freezer because they are best served ice cold! Writing this review as I'm in stuck indoors during this quarantine but I was here back in February and just dreaming for the day where I can have dinner on the beach again. I came here for late night dinner with my friends and we loved it here. It was super packed when we came here on a Friday night (we were about to just stand near the bar and eat because we were starving) but luckily a table opened up quick and it so happened to be on the edge of the restaurant, closer to the beach :) We ordered mojitos to drink and shared everything - Empanadas, Queso Frito (fried cheese), Chorizo Al Vino (sausage in wine), Quesadillas and the Mariscada Oceanica. Everything was delicious and very satisfying. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area. Great food, drinks, atmosphere and views. Boo! The service here is lame, unless you are borderline standing out of your seat and waving your hand to hail someone over you won't get their attention. Then once you do miraculously get someone to your table you will be served frozen steamed vegetables, the chewiest lobster tail of your life, and Trader Joe's paella. And the perfect beverage pairing is the margarita, made of Costco grade, luminescent, lemon-lime Gatorade, marg mix and Jose Cuervo. Cheers! Sonido del Mar isn't just a bar with a good view. They're cranking out massive bowls of some damn good mofongo, and I'll go as far as saying this was one of the best meals I had in the Isabela/Jobos Beach area. And the drinks are dynamite too. We came here on the 4th of July after laying out in the beach and the place was totally packed. Somehow, we still managed to snag a table for 3 and our server was delightfully patient as we decided what to order. For me, it was a no-brainer. My first sit down meal in PR was going to be mofongo. I love octopus and it's not something I see on menus often, so that was another obvious choice for me. Our server also gave me a bunch of sauce options, and I went with the butter/garlic. Solid decision on my part. The mofongo bowl here is something to be marveled at. No matter how much I kept on eating, it seemed to reappear. Not a bad problem to have. The pulpo was also super fresh and tender AF. They really did right by the octopus. Overcooked octopus gets gummy and chewy, but it was the total opposite here. My friends got the sangria which was a bit too sugary for their taste, but my Tequila Sunrise was legit and made with real fruit. No fake stuff here. I was definitely a happy girl. This place has such a lovely view we were looking forward to having some drinks and lunch. In complete understanding that this isn't New York and it's a lovely slower pace of everything, it's not worth the overpriced average food and terrible service. We sat ourselves because that seemed to be what others were doing and all of the tables were dirty. No one came over to greet us or wipe the table town. Normally it wouldn't bother me but during Covid would be nice. 3 other tables sat down near us and were all greeted, received clean tables and had their drinks and orders taken. After all of the tables got their drinks and one had gotten their food, we went up and grabbed our own menus. A sever finally came over to take our order and not wipe down the table. We were on vacation and just trying to be relaxed so we got our drinks and chilled and admired the lovely view. The 6 top next to us, the three top on the other side and the folks beside us all got their meals and were finished and we still had no food (two orders of fish tacos). When the waitress came by I asked if we could get our tacos and she said she would check. At this point I should add that there were 5 severs standing around the bar with very little to do since all of the tables in the place already had their food and the ratio of servers to tables was 1:1. After 10 more minutes I went up to the bar since our server never returned and asked if we could please get our tacos. We'd just had a long flight, it had been over an our and the family of 6 next to us that was sat well after us was fully done with their meals. There was very little response. Our waitress came over and said she checked on them awhile ago and there were zero other people who didn't have food so I was confused and out of patience and trying not to be a New Yorker. After ten more minutes (we are going on well over an hour to an hour and a half for two fish tacos)I went back to the bar and asked for the check. At that point someone said they could make them to go and I asked to pay for our drinks and go. Someone came out of the kitchen and said they were coming and magically the tacos finally appeared. They were bland, extremely average and not worth any of this for two hungry travelers that were trying really hard to be patient and grab some food. The bill was dropped off with no one saying a word and we were charged 40 dollars for the tacos, nothing mentioned at all and unfriendly is the nicest thing I could say about the entire vibe of the place from the very beginning. This seemed like a decent place to go as a local but give it a hard pass as a tourist. Save your money and go next door to Umas where the view is lovely, the food is great and the service was amazing. read more

Single diner, chain was across the door so I wasn't sure if they were serving but they were able to seat me. Music was a bit loud as I was near a speaker. Wait staff was all very prompt and friendly. I had shrimp in a butter/garlic sauce with a side of cooked veggies and coconut mojito. The mojito and shrimp were delicious. The cooked veggies had no seasoning so I dunked many in my garlic butter sauce. Ended up not finishing them as the side portion was huge. Prices were similar to other area restaurants. The setting for this restaurant is beautiful, I'm sure it's the only reason they are still open. Very disappointed in the food, our appetizers were both fried and tasted like they had been cooked in oil that had not been changed for months, the pool of oil under the calamari was dark brown! Our waiter, basically, ignored us when we said we just wanted a couple of drinks and appetizers. We had to stand up to leave before he finally went to print our bill, even though we asked for the bill and he acknowledged my request. My margarita was great. Don't go here. We received raw chicken breast and realized half way in and they made us pay for half of it bc half had been eaten. So we were forced to pay for raw chicken that was served to us. We had to eat half to realize that it was raw in the middle. Gtfoh. Also the fully cooked food was subpar. Idk how this place has such good reviews. I can get better food from a stand in the Bronx. read more
