4 of us went to Mariya Thai Kitchen for lunch, wanted to support a local business. The location is a little awkward to access from the road. On the plus side, the service was courteous and attentive, the food was OK, a little better than a fast food place. We considered the Thai tea beverage overpriced. An OK small restaurant, but will not recommend the restaurant due to sneaky billing practices. Checking the credit card bill we discovered that they had added a 3% credit card extra fee, without letting the customer know in advance. In addition, without letting the customer know, they also included a separate fee of $4.00 for the hot sauce tray they put on the table, which we hardly used. It's very tacky to charge additional fees, and especially sneaky not letting the customer know ahead of time. 3 stars max rating is deserved. read more

We a hankering for Thai and found this gem ! We ordered fresh rolls, which were great. The peanut sauce was yummy. We also ordered dumplings which were great. Each of ordered an entree, broccoli garlic beef and one order of chicken teriyaki served with a nice assortment of carrots and broccoli. The staff are genuine and very attentive. We absolutely LOVE this place. We order the yellow curry (coconut curry ) with extra chicken and add pineapple! It makes enough for both my husband and I, and to have some leftovers. Some coworkers and I came here for lunch. The crowd was light and the place was clean. We were quickly able to put a couple of tables together for our larger group. I've had the Pad Kee Mow to go before and I liked it so it was an easy choice for lunch. This time I had the basil fried rice! It was different from what I used to, but I enjoyed it. I'm used to having a fried egg on top, but this one had the egg inside like a traditional fried rice. The level 2 spicy was more than enough. Their spice levels seem to be a little amped up. The service was pretty good. She was the only waitress there, but she managed the tables well. She was a little sarcastic which didn't fly too well with some of the ladies, but all was well. My wife was craving sushi and Thai food, so we decided to give the new restaurant in Forney a try. Unfortunately, this was not what we expected. We ordered pickup, and when we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, not a single person dining in. That felt a little odd, but the young lady at the counter was very friendly and welcoming, which was a nice start. Food: Mexican Roll (5/10): A shrimp tempura roll that was a letdown. It wasn't rolled properly, and the rice-to-filling ratio was way off. There was so much rice that it drowned out any flavor from the shrimp or other ingredients. It comes with 6 slices. Forney Roll (4/10): Another shrimp tempura roll with the same problem, too much rice, not enough filling, and overall very bland. It felt like eating plain rice with a tiny bit of shrimp inside. This also comes with 6 slices. Pad Kee Mow with Chicken (4/10): This was probably the most disappointing. The flavor was off, almost like they used too much fish sauce. Something about it didn't taste like a proper Pad Kee Mow. The dish also had far more broccoli than chicken, which threw off the balance completely. Overall: I was honestly surprised given the positive reviews online. Our takeout experience was poor, and the food quality just wasn't there. This ended up being one of the most disappointing Thai and sushi meals we've had, especially in Forney. read more

The food is good-nice quality. I got a carry out order. The packaging was also quality. I didn't think the food portion was worth the dinner price. I would have appreciated more food for the price, and the fact it was dinner and not lunch. The staff were super kind and accommodating. The spot is small as well as the parking lot. I think the location will hurt the establishment becoming what it can become. I haven't seen many businesses survive this location because of the parking and congestion of the highway in front of it. I highly recommend the sacrifice and inconvenience to visit this place. I just ask the owner to make it worth our time going there rather some other local Thai restaurants that are much easier to visit with more food for the dollar amount. read more

I had green curry at spice level three which was really not very hot for me. Flavors were really good. All the vegetables seem to be very fresh. My wife had hibachi chicken. Food is pretty decent. Stir fries need more Thai flavors and no cornstarch which is usually found in Chinese dishes. Tomyum and tomkha are delish. Padkeemow has great flavor but the noodles are in clumpy and sorry burned. Service is great, friendly and courteous staff. Place is new and looks clean. I really liked it! They had a full house so we did just order to go, the food was still ready pretty fast. The man at the counter was very nice. I had the pad ke mao and I loved it, it is always my go to thai dish. My boyfriend got the fried rice and he likes it as well. On a separate trip my dad got the Mongolian beef and It was pretty good! The portions were a good size! The pricing is competitive with the other thai business in town and I will say this will be my first pick for thai food going forward. Mariya is new to Forney and we are lucky to have them! It's a small location, but it's clean and decorated nicely. Our service was excellent! The food was above and beyond our expectations. We started with the dumplings and they were a great kickoff to a wonderful meal. I had the ginger delight stir fry with shrimp and it was indeed a delight! The veggies were fresh and crisp. I got a spice level 2-next time I'll get 3. The beef with noodle (I don't remember the specific dish name) my husband ordered had a great flavor as well.
