Front desk staff and nurse were kind, and based on the reviews I was genuinely hopeful going in. Then Dr Elias came in and it fell apart. He never once addressed my mom directly, even after learning she needed a translator, he spoke only to me, as if she wasn't there. He asked a couple of rushed questions, had her undress, then removed her drainage tube without explaining a single step. It hurt her, and she had no idea what was happening because he never said a word to prepare her. He said it was infected, walked out, then came back and handed us a slip for antibiotics. No explanation of why it got infected, how to care for the area, what to avoid, or what to watch for. When I turned to ask if my mom had questions, he was already walking out the door. My mom had other concerns she wanted to raise, but after being brushed off like that, she didn't bother. That says everything about how this visit made her feel.

The worst experience…read more First, waited 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment to get brought into the exam room (I guess thatg's why they call it a Waiting Room ). Another 15 minutes went by before the Dr. showed up. Dr. never examined me...then upon a scheduled follow-up tele health call, Dr. never joined the call. Absolutely terrible. Tele health call was scheduled 10 min before the office closing....so while I still sat and waited for Dr. to join.....10 minutes had past and I could not even get the office to answer the phone so I could find out what was going on. Then, when I called again, I got the 'off hours' call center who said they would reach out to the Dr. to let her know I was still waiting - but that didn;t happen either. Don't waste your time here.

Advisor- please do not fall for the beautiful photographs she has in her rooms…read more I went in there a couple of times and every single time, Dr Sura just rubbed me off wrong. I'm sure she is a nice lady but professionally she was rude, arrogant and not a great listener. I went in because my insurance changed and I was referred to this Dr bc she was the "only one" that took my insurance. I never had IEHP HMO before so I didn't quite know how to use it. I complained about pain and informed her about my symptoms. She did nothing to help me or treat me. Nor even care and just dismissed me. I went back for my pap smear a few months later. The most painful pap smear in my life. I left home with cramps. She literally shoved the tool inside me rapidly to the point that it burned and it was almost excruciating and rubbed me with the Q tip like if she was mixing pancakes up in me. It was horrific. Every time you speak or try to she seems annoyed, be littles you and gaslights you medical wise. I am not a person to be confrontational so I just brush it off and agree. However I still questioned myself why I keep going back. I got a call about my results being abnormal she said "have you ever been diagnosed with HPV before? I said no. She said I am going to refer you to an ONCOLOGIST. She said on a scale 1-5 yours came back a 3. They will call you in about two weeks. I asked should I inform my partner? she said well don't know if you have HPV and just keep tour immune system up" so if I don't have HPV why even mention it?? I rapidly called the oncologist office and my PCP scheduled appointments. Scared for my life about cervical cancer since she said it was at 3 and HPV. The day finally arrives and I go to city of hope. I meet the sweetest doctor. The kindest doctor I've ever met. He asks "why are you here???" I said well Dr sura referred me. Dr Kebria is an amazing listener and he cares very well for his patients that he stays until all questions are answered. I understood why there is a waiting time because he wants to make sure all his patients go home informed. He said I had absolutely NOTING WRONG with me. Led me to the front desk and asked the receptionist to give me a refund. I want to mention I am not the type of person to be confrontational or rude to anyone in person or online. I went home crying thanking God for not having HPV or cervical cancer. The only thing good i can say about this i am thankful she referred me to Dr Kebria. and allowing him to correct the misleading referral and confusion.

They are not efficient with their job. They don't follow with clients a request. The MD is An Excellent provider with lots of expertise. Hope the office manager and MDs meet to resolve this issue and improve their staff quality.

I'm sharing my experience so other patients can make an informed decision…read more While this doctor was friendly during visits, my overall experience throughout my pregnancy was extremely disappointing due to repeated miscommunication and lack of organization. At every appointment where I came in for heartbeat checks using the in-office monitor, I was consistently told that my baby was female. While I personally did not mind the gender as long as my baby was healthy, I trusted the information being given to me. At my official gender reveal ultrasound, I found out my baby was actually male. If there was any uncertainty, that should have been clearly communicated instead of presenting assumptions as fact. There was also confusion regarding my delivery date, which resulted in me going in on the wrong day. That situation was stressful and completely avoidable with proper communication. To make matters worse, this doctor did not even deliver my baby. Another doctor had to step in at the time of delivery, which added to the feeling of disorganization and lack of continuity in care. Overall, the entire experience felt like a complete flop. Pregnancy is a time when patients need accurate information, consistency, and clear communication. Unfortunately, that was missing here. While she was personable, that alone is not enough when it comes to something as important as prenatal and delivery care. I do not recommend.

I really like Dr. Shanta and her staff; however I do not agree with their billing practices…read more They have been over charging me on my co-pay (it is $30, not $50)--they did not bother calling to confirm with my insurance what my responsibility was and just outright said it was increased to $50. I have verified with the insurance that ob/gyn is still only $30. Also, I called today to get info on an IUD and they require full payment (~$850) up front before they will order the IUD. They are supposed to be charging my insurance first and then bill me any remaining balance (if any). Not sure why they won't call the insurance to find out what it would be rather than charge full price up front. 3-stars because Dr. Shanta is very pleasant and thorough. The staff is pleasant but I do not agree with the office's billing practices. Update--I went to planned parenthood for my IUD. It was covered 100% by my insurance. The process was so much easier than having to "order" and pay for the IUD I wanted from Dr. Shanta's office and then come back again when it arrived for insertion.

My review was based solely on my experience--not on your medical knowledge or quality of care, because I never had the opportunity to receive it. At no point did I receive a phone call or apology from you or anyone in your office regarding what occurred. A simple acknowledgment and sincere apology could have gone a long way. Patients leave reviews to share their experiences and help practices improve. Dismissing legitimate concerns rather than addressing them only reinforces the issues that patients are reporting. I genuinely hope your office takes future patient feedback as an opportunity to improve communication and customer service.

She's not looking at a screen the way some doctors do while I wonder if they're listening. I realize we're doctor and patient but it truly feels like a relationship. I'm baffled and I will also be filing a grievance with my insurance carrier.
