I left a message Thursday evening. I got a call back first thing Friday morning and was able to be seen that day. Dr. Eck and his team made me feel comfortable and not shamed for my lack of dental care over the years. (Strahler was the previous owner, and before that, Penshorn to clear up confusion in how it may be listed on Google, and Dr. Penshorn still works there ). They assisted me through the process of applying for Care Credit and Alphaeon so I could pay for my services, emailing the links to make it quick and easy. I chose to get a full set of x-rays done (but I had the option to do a limited exam for only my problem tooth if I preferred or had limited funds). I'll be coming back in one week to get my temporary crown & deep cleaning, and 4 weeks later I'll get my permanent crown, which is porcelain, not silver, so I can still have a confident smile. They are all very personable, friendly, welcoming, and real. Every person. I have complete confidence in this team and the dentist to give me the best care. The office is clean and inviting. They offer complimentary products to brush your teeth in the lobby bathroom before your appointment (if you so wish) so you don't feel embarrassed coming in after lunch. I was surprised to see non-GMO snacks and healthy sugar-free drink options (with stevia! Not aspartame or sucralose- I LOVE Zevia drinks!). I'm so glad I found them! They are a God-send.

After a bumpy start here, I am pleased to say that I've found a great dentist!…read more Upon my first visit, Dr. Mark Howell said he found a pretty deep cavity, which might require a root canal. Having never had more than a surface cavity, I was shocked (angry even) thinking he was just trying to make some money off of me. I went for a second opinion (to Dr. Voight in Stone Oak, who is wonderful) and he said Dr. Mark was not only right, but I was "lucky" Dr. Mark had found the cavity because it was pretty hard to see on the x-ray. A few weeks later, I had the filling done (no root canal - hooray!) and Dr. Mark was so nice about the whole ordeal saying, "Sometimes you need a second opinion" and encouraging me that "trust" is everything when it comes to finding a dentist. I agree wholeheartedly. Recently, I chipped a tooth on a Friday and the office was closed; I left a message asking someone to get back to me on Monday, but was surprised when someone called me Saturday instead and squeezed me into the schedule for the next business day. I am been so satisfied with Dr. Mark and his staff. They are kind and understanding, and the office is lovely. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

I was a happy patient here for many years and trusted this office with my dental care…read more Unfortunately, my most recent experience completely changed my opinion. Not only did I leave feeling that I did not receive a thorough cleaning, but a procedure was performed without my approval or informed consent. I was then billed for that procedure. When I questioned the charge, I was threatened to pay rather than having my concerns addressed. I escalated the matter to the central billing department, and they acknowledged my concerns and advised me to continue working with the office to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, the office chose not to do so. What disappointed me most was the manager's attitude. After years of loyalty and spending thousands of dollars at this practice,(my husband's teeth concerns are still horrible despite many crowns replaced here) ... I felt I was treated without the respect and professionalism I expected over a $100 charge for a procedure I did not authorize and did not believe was necessary. Especially reminding them to do only what my insurance covered. I have since transferred my care to Texas Dental office seguin. Although it is farther from my home, I gladly make the drive because I am treated with dignity, respect, professionalism, and kindness. Plus free teeth whiting kit for my loyalty. That level of patient care has reminded me what excellent customer service should look like. It's unfortunate that a long-standing relationship ended this way, but every patient deserves to be informed, respected, and asked for consent before any procedure is performed. I wanted to give this review a negative 5 star but that wasn't an option here. THE OWNER'S RESPONSE WAS CONDESCENDING AND ONCE AGAIN DEFLECTING THE ISSUE INSTEAD OF ADDRESSING IT....SEVERE LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY AS WELL AS THEIR OFFICE MGR. INSTEAD OF CORRECTING THEIR ERROR, THEY THREATEN ME WITH SENDING ME TO COLLECTIONS IF I DID NOT PAY..... SO I REPORTED THIS LOCATION TO BBB, SO THAT OTHER PATIENTS MAY BE AWARE WHEN DEALING WITH THIS LOCATION. Nonetheless, I found an awesome new provider at Texas Dental off Seguin, Mario and the staff's professionalism and experience, was beyond my expectations, so when I was given a personalized teeth whiting kit just for being a patient, I realized that this bad experience with 7 to 7 was all worth it...I found my dental family at Texas Dental.

For starters, Dr. Newman and Dr. Engel are no longer there, and there was no communication about this when I had just begun my ortho treatment. That's something I would have appreciated transparency on, especially since it directly impacts my care. Secondly the new orthodontist has been disappointing. He doesn't introduce himself, barely interacts, and often just walks in and out without much explanation. It honestly makes me question the purpose of coming in when I could just manage my trays at home and track my own progress at this point. I've also seen that others have had similar concerns. From what I've found, he also has negative reviews elsewhere outside of this practice as well, so this experience feels inconsistent and concerning. I really wish there was more transparency and a higher standard of patient care. At the end of the day, I don't understand keeping a provider who doesn't seem to prioritize patient experience.

I called in to schedule an appointment in the mid-May, and I told them very clearly I have Tricare dental and asked them if they accept Tricare. They said yes they do accept Tricare and then set up my appointment on June 22. I showed up and checked in, then the front desk asked me to pay $100 copay, I told them Tricare covers 100% on the annual exam and x-ray and cleaning twice a year. Then they told me oh we are NOT in the Tricare network and you need to pay a copay $100! WHAT!!! WHY DID NOT TELL ME ON THE PHONE WHEN I CALLED THE FIRST TIME???!!!! I said then I do not want to proceed with the appointment and about to walk out, the manager saw that I was about to leave, she said oh I can just bill your insurance and waive the copay, since you are already here, I do not want to turn you away. We will just do the x-ray and you can take the images to another dental which is in the network. I accepted and proceeded with the x-ray. I was SO WRONG!! I really really should have left! Later of the day I found another dentist on Tricare Dental Program website and called them and told them what happened earlier today. I was told that: 1) they would need to do their own full mouth X-ray and not accepting what other dentist has done due to liability 2) Tricare only covers full mouth x-ray once every year, I would need to pay out of pocket for the second one. This place wants to make money so bad that they totally abused my insurance coverage! They knew clearly I had Tricare and they could not do any cleaning or needed treatment for me! Even they waived the $100 copay but they submitted $$$ claim to my insurance! Yeah, they got paid from insurance! Now I have to pay for another X-ray out of pocket! In and out and on to work. Well one morning I didn't get taken back until like 7:12 and I complained about it. Dr. Enriquez said it was her fault as she ran long doing morning prayers. Fine, but a lot of places will cancel your appointment if you run late or charge you a fee. Fair is fair and I liked getting there early so there's no waiting for either of us. Another time I paid in cash and the girl said I could have any change because it was locked up in the office and I said that was unprofessional. She said I'd have to come back later in the day. Weird. So moments later Dr. Enriquez comes around the corner with the key, opens the office and gets my change but also has a mini counseling session with me about what I said. So was the girl at the counter just afraid to ask for the keys? The last thing was my mask. The whole idea of wearing one to a dental appointment is just mental. I took my daughter and they didn't like the one I was wearing and I declined the one I was offered. In May of 2020 when I heard Abbott was making a mask order I went to JoAnne's and bought a yard of eyelash lace and some elastic. I used it for a face covering and it actually did the same thing as every other mask. So I guess after that, much like Andy on Shawshank when Tommy got murdered, they decided it was time to part ways and sent me a letter that my family's dental needs would be better served elsewhere. And they have been at Dual Arc.
