When I asked about the refund difference between a simple pair for distance only, they said I wouldn't get any refund because they were 'remaking' the glasses, even though the 2nd pair would be considerably cheaper. So, I returned the original pair for a full $535 refund and will get a pair of glasses elsewhere. The manager didn't blink, she didn't care, didn't try to keep me as a new customer and I walked out happy. I liked the doctor and support staff, but I'm always a bit suspect when the retail optician office sell glasses is inside the eye doctor's office. All of their focuses on makin g money selling glasses, not keeping customers happy.

I then spoke to someone who books appointments and made me aware that I have to pay $75 because I was charged an actual appointment even though the last place was unsuccessful of getting a prescription for my daughter. Anyway, the doctor looks at the paperwork and says "Not sure why we're doing this appointment." Right in front of me, I kept my cool as I wanted a new prescription for her. We were back in the exam room, and I'm trying to explain to the doctor (as I was trying to address his rude comment) why I scheduled this appointment. While I was talking my daughter was answering the questions he quickly cut me off so he could hear her answers. Needless to say he's very rude, the greetings are off-putting and not much communication only between the staff. Erika then proceeded to do measurements for my daughter's new glasses. I called the next day to see if I could order another pair of glasses for her and was told I was not able to with my insurance. Which in the past I was able to buy 1 get 2 free but that might have been that location. I will not go back!

They may notify you that your glasses are ready for pick-up and charge you the full amount before they connect with the insurance company. You could end up thinking that if they get paid by the insurance company after you pay the full amount, that you were not reimbursed for the overpayment. I think there is a problem with how they communicate. It is advisable to be a little bit vigilant and on guard here as the front desk people that you encounter are not very reassuring regarding how the insurance process is working with them and you and they are not very good with people questioning them.

During my exam (which was very good and thorough, Hartman does a great job) I asked for my pupillary distance so that I could order my glasses online, and my doctor said that I could get my PD taken when checking out up front. I go to check out and ask for my PD, when they tell me that they aren't allowed to give that out. I thought they were joking at first, but they really refused to give me my own medical information. Obviously so that I'm forced to buy glasses through them, which I refuse to do. It appears that if I'm not buying my glasses through them, Clarkson eye care would rather have me get an unreliable measurement on my own. Very disappointed by this. I just want to order a cheap pair of glasses for when contacts aren't an option. If I can help it, I will NOT be returning to Clarkson eye care, as I refuse to support a business that is clearly not in my best interest. You'd think after spending $1000 they would be willing to give me my PD. Hell, before today, I would've thought withholding my medical information such as my PD would be ILLEGAL. screw you Clarkson, you ruined my day.
