CHECK YOUR EOB. This office tried to scam me out of hundreds of dollars and when I called them out on it, they sent me the correct amount without any explanation or apology. I assure you they are banking on patients not understanding how insurance works, and pocketing YOUR hard earned money. They have been reported to the dental board and CA Dept of insurance because it would be awful if they are doing this to everyone. To boot, the micro aggression I heard and witnessed in the office from the white women towards the black doctor was cringe and awful. I felt so uncomfortable for him, and so ashamed for them. I saw Ya-Sin Peaks to get my upper wisdom teeth removed awake and he did wonderful it was quick and painless. He even sent a get well card in the mail. Only complaint is I brought my husband into the room for support and they politely kicked him out for reasons unknown. Dr. Womack extracted an infected molar with a bridge attached, did a bone graph, and installed a post for an implant. I have had a few teeth pulled and usually felt very sore afterward. His work is excellent. I am 76 and expected to be in pain for at least a day. My bleeding stopped in less than 12 hours. I iced two times on the day of surgery and wore gauze until I went to bed. I awoke this morning with no pain or swelling in the area where the procedure was performed. The area of my stitches is a little raw but NO PAIN. His support staff was pleasant and professional. I am so thankful that I chose Dr. Womack for this complicated procedure. I highly recommend him. read more

I scheduled an appointment with Dr Womack over a month ago for a consultation to have my daughter's wisdom teeth removed. The appointment was for today at 1:30. I received a message last week from a Chelsea confirming the appointment and she also asked for me to call her back to go over some details. I called her back and left a message and never heard back. Today (the day of the appointment) I picked my daughter up early from school and was driving to the appointment from Paradise, where we live. At 1:24 I received a call from Dr Womacks office saying I was supposed to be there at 1:15 to fill out paperwork. I explained that I was never told that we needed to be there early and that we would be there by 1:30. She then said we can come and fill out the paperwork but we would have to reschedule the appointment. When we got there (right on time) I filled out the paperwork and was done by 1:42, 12 minutes after our scheduled appointment. I asked the front desk person "if we showed up 12 minutes late would we have been turned away"? She told me she had to input everything and they would have had to set everything up which would take 20 minutes. Shouldn't everything have been set up anyway? And I'm sure they could have taken her back for X-rays while inputing her info. The staff was completely unhelpful and acted like it was my fault for not being there early. I have had many appointments where I'm told when scheduling the appointment to be there 15-20 minutes early and I put the time they need me there on my phone. I also own my own business that is conducted through appointments, if someone was 12 minutes late due to miscommunication you can bet I would have a little bit of flexibility to fit them in. Had I known they wanted me there earlier than the appointment I absolutely would have been there then. This place is rude and has no respect for peoples time. We will be going elsewhere. read more

Dr Womack was fantastic! I needed all 4 wisdom teeth pulled because they were at risk of gingivitis. When I went into my consultation, Dr Womack was honest with me saying I didn't need them out. Since the wisdom teeth are difficult to floss we agreed it would be best to get them pulled now versus a potential surgery/disease down the road. I was so nervous to get them pulled but the second Dr Womack came into the room he was full of energy and in great spirts. He made me feel SO COMFORTABLE! Dr. Womack took my case when another OMFS in the area, the one my insurance provider would cover, wouldn't. He handled my wisdom teeth as a kid, and is helping fix my birth-damaged jaw as an adult. I had a good experience here, I had my two remaining wisdom teeth removed under local anesthetic. They would have preferred to put my under but I have a little anxiety toward that. Even though they were pulling teeth they were genital and kept me comfortable. I was prescribed antibiotics before the procedure (you don't need them after) and I was offered pain killers since they were impacted teeth and I was going to be sore but I declined and was fine with just ibuprofen at home. read more

My dad got a tooth pulled at this office. The prescription he received was for 4 antibiotics an hour prior to his appointment. No pain relievers, no follow up antibiotics. When the procedure was done, he was given no option to pay the balance in payments, but was rather required to pay the 300+ payment in full at the time of service. My parents are senior citizens on a fixed income and were not treated with the appropriate empathy or conscious for people of their social situation. This was a pretty disappointing experience for such a forward leaning city. read more

During my treatment I was in need to get orthognathic surgery to correct my bite. One thing I have been dreading my whole life. Never in my life have I dealt with a doctor who is so unthinkably unprofessional. I should have stopped working with Mark a long time before I did. I've had several surgeries from Mark, the first of which when I was 13. He look an impacted tooth out of my mouth. This required a follow-up surgery several months later. He scheduled it for the day before I began high school, assuring me it was no big deal and I'd be fine to go to school the next day. As soon as the medications from the surgery itself wore off, I woke up screaming. I have never been in so much pain. I missed my first week of high school. Mark explained to my parents that he had messed up my first surgery, and so this one had required him to do a lot more than he had planned, including taking a gland out of my mouth. He was apologetic, and told us he would not charge us for any of my future follow-up surgeries. My parents say now that should have stopped us from ever going back, but this gesture kept us. Several months ago, we went back for one of my follow-up surgeries. He tried to charge us, but my parents brought up his promise. The very kind women who work for him looked it up and agreed. He let that surgery go free. Not long after that, I moved away for college, but still agreed to continue seeing him. A few months ago, I had yet another surgery scheduled. I took a week off of work and school to drive myself to Chico to continue seeing Mark for a surgery. But Mark once again tried to charge my parents. They explained that was not the deal he had offered us those years ago when he messed up my first surgery. He remained set. My parents were upset, but decided that since I had gone so far out of my way to come home for this, that they would pay for this surgery and just not come back afterward. But when they called, they were told by one of the kind women who work for Mark, that he refused to work with us anymore. This man screwed up my surgery, made a professional promise to me and my family, went back on it multiple times, and then threw an angry fit and refused to work with this. I still cannot believe his lack of courtesy and professional behavior. This man did bad work and refused to be true to his word. I would not recommend Mark Womack to anyone. read more
