Avoid this joke of a dentist office. I called on Saturday, spoke to their third party answering service to have a tooth extraction. Scheduled the appointment for 9am Monday. Drove 1 hour and 20 minutes from Redding to Chico. Arrived and the office is closed on June 19th. Called the answering service again. Whoever I spoke to on Saturday scheduled me for July 13th. How do you get June 19th and book it July 13th? Got bitched out by someone after I said I'll need a little more than a simple apology here. As you can see in the photos there is no mention of being closed on June 19th. The answering service has no clue why they are closed, and I've been stuck on hold for twenty minutes. The two ladies working the front desk immediately were cold and stuck up with me. Talking to me in a condescending manner. I felt like they were being racist because I was the only Caucasian in the waiting area. I arrived exactly on time for my appointment but I couldn't find my insurance card but I gave her all the proper information she would need to get my coverage details in a man walked in beside me who is also Hispanic andhe was 40 min late for appointment and they treated him like it was no big deal but yet they told me that I was going to be I'm almost like punished a waiting time because I didn't have all my information for them I was there for an emergencyI have an infected tooth my face is huge and they made me cry,so I left that place and will never go back. Not enough drs they come to work & quit within a week most staff too. The worst is I have been without teeth almost a year they made 1 upper denture and it cut my gums they ground down so far they won't stay in. New ones were even worse. Gave me Bucky beaver Childs teeth that were so thick they kept my mouth open and rested on bottom lip and actually slanted to the left. I didn't have insurance so had to use them. I have been receiving treatment at Chico Aspen Dental to replace a broken bridge involving three of my upper front teeth. I explained that it was a high priority to get this bridge replaced as soon as possible as I couldn't attend business meetings and social events missing these primary teeth. I met with Aspen's Office Manager, Rosa Aguilar, and was very encouraged. She completely understood the need for a fast-paced repair which would involve several visits. She rearranged her appointment schedule and had me come in three days in a row as well as a Saturday morning, which was very unusual and greatly appreciated by me as this was the only dental office in Chico that had offered to base their schedule around my specific needs. In addition to Ms Aguilar I was also very impressed with the kind and encouraging dental assistants and general office staff including Shannon, Brynn and Meghan. And last but certainly not least is the good Dr. Nguyen who is one of the most gentle and caring Dentists I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am going to make Aspen Dental my go to care provider for myself and my family for all future dental needs. Well, I see why this place has such bad reviews. I showed up 10 minutes early for my 2:30 appt, checked in and got my paperwork done. Only one other person waiting. Between 2:20 and 3:05, at least 3 other people came in and got called back. I gave up and left at 3:10, as there wasn't even time left for my appointment and cleaning before I had work at 4. I went in there for tooth pain and needed some dental work done and they could not provide the basic necessities for me to have a bone graph procedure done so they charge my insurance company for the visit and now they have lawyers going after me for money because my insurance only paid $200 and their bill was $250 or something like that! Stay away!!! They can't provide the bare minimum needed. I only asked for laughing gas all cash paid! I chose another DDS that could put me in a more comfortable position for bone graph and extraction. They offered zero help with pain. She was very insensitive and rude and only wanted to get as much cash as she could, and didn't even want to make sure I would be comfortable. read more

I don't recommend this location. Let me explain. I called Aspen Dental much earlier than they open and connected to a very nice woman who made the appointment for in chico 1 mile from my home. I explained exactly why I'm calling, what I want, what insurance I have to see if these are the experts I'm looking for. I was very grateful for the way I was treated. Same day appointment only 1 hour after they open. I couldn't wait to visit this new dental group. I received a call from Chico office to get additional information. They told me they don't do orthodontist work, no Invisalign at all, but when I come in for my first appointment the dentist will refer me to another dentist group. Are you kidding me, I asked the attendant if we swapped places would she do what they are asking me to do? What a let down. How about they say we're very sorry that our main office gave you wrong information about this office. Let me send you a list of orthodontist we do recommend in our area. Maybe they are wonderful, I'm not for sure, I just know I didn't feel like a valuable customer. I felt like a guy who needed to make a deposit into their bank account. If I could give a negative 5 I would. My niece had made an appointment for today; she was experiencing severe jaw pain. Upon arrival, she was informed that the internet was down and they couldn't do anything. She asked if the dentist could just take a cursory look and suggest alternative treatment until she could get an appointment for a later date. He refused and told her she needed to go to urgent care. She asked where she should go (she lives up north) and he said "You have a smartphone don't you?" Seriously? This is the behavior of a doctor? Appalling and callous! read more

I am very happy with Aspen Dental. I am new to Chico and was going to another dental office that referred me to an endodontist for a Deep Cleaning with a cost of $3500 ! That other dental office had expensive pricing on their services. I had Aspen in Oceanside when I lived in SoCal and was happy with the services. Last year I switched to Aspen in Chico and very glad I did so. The staff is so nice, friendly, professional, thorough and quality dental practices in performing a full exam, cleaning. Aspen did not try to up-sell me on anything. They informed me that I did not need a deep cleaning. I am comfortable in recommending this dental office to any family member or friends. read more

The BEST and Kindest Care I have EVER received!!! I was in severe pain and quite embarrassed by the condition of a tooth I had let go- due to a very busy schedule. To my joyful surprise: From the phone call in the morning (prior to my emergency appointment) to checking out at the end of my visit; I was treated like I was their only client. First, as noted- Practice Manager Aaron Grijalva called me prior to my emergency appointment. He was so kind and reassuring that I knew I was in good hands. Next, I was greeted by Dental Assistant Shayla Harrod, who signed me in, took x-rays, and thoroughly explained why the pain I was having radiated throughout my jaw and other areas. Shayla was so gentle and sweet, that I found myself relaxed and in less pain. Dr. Ruth Kenworthy came next- I absolutely loved her too! Besides having an awesome sense of humor; she was kind, caring, genuine, and honest. Due to my healthy root system, she suggested (and they referred me to) an oral surgeon. Oh my Gosh!!! They listened to me!!! She also prescribed antibiotics and pain medication to address the issues I was having. Last, but not least, I met with Dental Hygienist Simran Kaur. She was so sweet and softspoken, and thoroughly explained some options of care that I was interested in. To sum it up: People will forget what you say and do- but they will NEVER forget how you made them feel: The genuine smiles and kindness shown to me by this dental practice made me (and my pain) feel like their #1 priority. They showed authentic care, concern, and compassion- when I felt at my ABSOLUTE worst. They unselfishly referred me to another provider, based on my needs (my root system), not their financial gains. This shows integrity at its best. God bless all of you at Aspen Dental, for the loving work you are doing. You made a huge impact on me and I hope that others will not hesitate to visit your office. Because of Covid I neglected seeing a dentist and was scared I was going to need a lot of work but Aspen dental made my dental anxiety disappear within minutes of being in their chair. Their whole crew from the hygienists, dentist to the office manger were amazing and they all seem to enjoy working together. They were able to accommodate my schedule and squeeze me in throughout the day for certain procedures which helped a lot. Very affordable too. read more

full mouth teeth extraction by this office: patient had excellent dental insurance and money not an issue. the patient had dental fear that had caused the problem to begin with. nothing was done for his comfort. no sedation. not even gas. no education on what to expect. sent home with only tylenol. mouth left a bloody mess. no re-alignment check until 2 weeks out. no color match done correctly looked like a spotlight on the bottom row of middle immediate dentures. this was an assembly line job without any kind of humanitarian efforts. read more
