I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Barnes and his entire office staff. Everyone is always so happy when I walk in, I feel like I just missed a great story about the weekend. This review is based on the price in comparison to other local oral surgeons, not the service. I went here for a consultation for wisdom tooth removal, and they make you pay $170 for a consultation/exam to get a price quote on the surgery. Then, they quote almost double for wisdom tooth removal than what a different local surgeon charged me. For comparison, the competition charged just $100 for the consult/exam/x ray. Overall, I saved over $2000 by going somewhere else in town with the same good reviews for the same service. read more

I just want to take a moment to say Thank you Dr. Eric! He was the only orthodontist that would help me and save me from what could have been an emergency situation. I had bad tooth that caused my face to swell and no one would take me in. Everyone told me to wait. I was in pain and scared my airway would swell up. So thankful for Dr.Eric and his staff. I had 3 molars that needed to be removed and Dr. Barnes got me in right away. The staff was very friendly and professional. I had the sedation surgery and woke up with it all over! It was wonderful. This place is friendly. I was referred by my dentists yo this place and went in for wisdom tooth extraction. The receptionist went out of her way to get me in asap. Dr. Barnes and staff are very professional and knowledgeable. They made me felt comfortable and was in and out in about 45min. I would recommend anyone Dr. Barnes. DO NOT GO HERE! I needed a biopsy. I was sent by my dentist. The office asked for a "cash" payment-- for a cash discount. Thinking they meant they wanted to be paid up front, I offered my credit card. But no discount for credit cards.... they offered a cash discount if you went to get $500 cash from your ATM and then came back for your biopsy. Seems a lot sleazy to me. They would not take my insurance (Blue Shield) but then sent my tissue sample to a non-participating provider. The entire thing cost me $740 for a small biopsy. The biopsy got infected and inflamed. The doctor was not available to help. When I reported this to my dentist he said that he knows the office is bad, but there are so few places to send people. read more

"Wonderful Office, Great staff and Dr. Barnes is Excellent". I have needed to see Dr. Barnes twice for substantial work and could not be more pleased with his superb skills, compassionate care and great personality. This is true for the entire Staff...I made a change with my general dentist to another and made sure they worked with "Dr. Barnes" due to the care provided me from his office at an earlier date. Dental surgery is never fun and can be nerve wracking. However, the office takes great effort and does so wonderfully in getting the patient through the process and aftercare as needed. I have had others (unfortunately) and Dr. Barnes sits at the "Head of the Table". Simply stated, "Dr. Barnes" and Staff are "Terrific" and If you are in need, look no further.....I write very few reviews and do so only when my experience has been more than exceptional. We had a great experience here. Both my kids had their wisdom teeth pulled - on the same day - during covid. As if all that wasn't enough to cause us anxiety, I was recovering from foot surgery and on one crutch. I was so anxious about managing two loopy teens. Every phase of the process from consult to surgery day to recovery was smooth. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We felt well-informed and well-supported, and we had no issues afterward. My son took a lot of medicine during the procedure, and we had lots of help getting him to the car comfortably. The special ice packs they sent home to fit around the kids' jaws were THE BEST. It's worth it alone to come here for the ice packs. My stepson had his wisdom teeth pulled a few weeks later by another doctor and had all kinds of problems. He wished he'd gone to Dr. Barnes and his team! We made sure to at least loan him the fantastic ice packs for which he was much grateful. read more

The surgical assistant calmed her fears and the surgery was quick and easy; no problems at all. The recovery process was easy since we were so prepared and informed. I had a tooth that was eligible for a root canal and my local dentist recommended I get it pulled instead because I have Lyme disease. I was referred to Dr Barnes who pulled the tooth. I had a graft done at the time of extraction. Everyone in the office was professional and kind. I cried and afterwards my body went through trauma for several days. The area healed well but I was hesitant to put my body through the next step so I put it off. Two years later I called to have the implant done and learned that I did not have enough bone to do the implant. No one had advised me that if you don't get the implant done within the year after having the tooth extracted then you lose bone and will not be able to do it. Having that tooth pulled was a huge mistake on my part. I have since learned that a friends oral surgeon in Santa Rosa turns away patients if their tooth can be saved by a root canal. Dr Barnes is a good oral surgeon but my advise is if you can save your tooth Do it. It's cheaper to get a root canal and better for your bone and teeth. I wish Dr Barnes had advised me save my tooth above all else, but he does not see that as his responsibility or part of his job. Ultimately is was my decision and I am paying the price for that. Once I had the tooth extracted I wish Dr Barnes had stressed the importance of getting the implant done in a timely matter so I would not lose bone. Now it's too late. read more

This Dr.'s office is not an honest one. They are nice to you until you confront them with a problem on the billing. They took out my daughters wisdom teeth and the insurance company said they wouldn't pay for two of them because they didn't need to be pulled. Until I told the girl at the doctors office that I was instructed by the insurance company to contact someone to do with the dental associations, Dr. Barnes office wasn't anxious to help me. I also asked them to make sure that this would be covered before we did the procedure. They said they did and yet my insurance company would only cover a small portion due to the fact that Dr. Barnes wasn't a preferred dentist. I put out $1661 right from the start and now have to pay another $400. I sent in $100 payment and the bookkeeper didn't cash my check. I sent another $100 and she sent me a letter, after calling my work and telling my receptionist that she isn't excepting this check, only the whole amount, which is none of my receptionist's business. Their bookkeeper is very unprofessional and they are so money hungry there that it is obvious they do not care about the patient. read more
