I purchased my 2020 CX-5 from Mark Mazda, when it was located on McDowell just down the road from my office, less than a month before the pandemic. The purchase experience was relatively good. But I liked the old shop and was disappointed when they relocated to the "Auto Show," and I was a bit put off by how posh the new location is. I associated the lux design and amenities with inflated maintenance and repair prices. It didn't help that, initially after the relocation, the Service dept couldn't find my extended warranty info, because of new systems and having switched to a different provider. And although I usually suffer from some level of sticker shock when I first get service estimates, Mark Mazda has proven itself to be honorable, trustworthy, and fair. They have also been generous. Not only did they find my original extended warranty documentation but years later covered the full cost of a major repair that the warranty company wouldn't pay for. Time and again, they have gone above and beyond to ensure that my car is safe, operating at the highest level, and looking good. In sum, the Service team's professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction, and the technicians' expertise and commitment to doing quality work, keep me coming back. I highly recommend Mark Mazda and want to say "thank you" here for a good new car deal back in 2020 and all the intervening years' excellent customer service. read more

Confirmed the service price twice with my service advisor before agreeing to the work -- $480 plus tax, and I even double-checked that tax applied to parts only, not labor. Despite that clear, repeated confirmation, they added a $22.91 "fee" (explained only as "that's on all our service") plus a 3% credit card surcharge ("all dealers do it"). Together that's roughly a 7.5% increase over the price I was quoted twice. For comparison, I had Ford service done at Chapman Ford recently with no credit card fee at all. Quoting a firm number, confirming it twice, then padding the final bill with unexplained charges isn't a minor billing issue -- it's a bait-and-switch. If you go here, get every fee in writing before you agree to anything. read more

A second rep jumped in and said she was checking on it... then also disappeared. Days later, the original rep resurfaced asking how they were doing and whether I needed anything else--as if the missed messages never happened. Be very careful buying a used vehicle here. They will absolutely not negotiate the vehicle price regardless of vehicle condition or cosmetic damage. I was also waiting over 4 hours after work the Friday I called to even get an OTD. I found the same model truck for $2500 cheaper in New Mexico and they wouldn't even try to price match it at all. Not to mention their $998 doc fee which is $400 more than the state average. Their detail team didn't even do a good job detailing the truck before we got it. They just put so much tire shine on the truck it got all over the paint we just ended up detailing it ourselves. Probably did that it hopes we would overlook the other cosmetic damage we found later. Sterling was probably the only person willing to actually give us some leeway on the registration cost and our trade in but even then he barely gave us anything in terms of negotiations. When we arrived we worked with chip who took us for a test drive and visually looked at the truck. we verbally expressed concern over the deep scratch on the hood & the fact that the bumper wasn't level with the tailgate and he didn't seem to care and avoided the conversation. Told us he couldn't even fill our tank with gas and best they could do was $30. They also denied our request for a second key fob. To top it all off when we got home we noticed the vehicle doesn't even have its original manual with the factory door code. So we'll have to take it to a dealer to have them reset it which is another $70. All in all I would not recommend this dealership to anyone I know. Next time I'll just bite the bullet and buy the out of state truck instead of trying to save myself the drive because of the headache I had dealing with this place was not worth it. read more

Ive been getting my old vehicle serviced here for some time and always nice to work with the service department, and especially Jorge. I had to buy a car today as I was in a collision last week and today was the only day I could do it. I came in here at 10am when they opened and worked with Carlos the entire time. We got down to business pretty quickly and tried two vehicles, one gas only and the other a hybrid. I liked the hybrid more and in the long term, should serve me better as I definitely do not like going to fill up on gas so this will lessen my trips to the gas station. The process was about as quick as can be since ai had to look for a car I liked, negotiate a price that worked for both, and then go thru the rigamarole of paperwork, etc. I was on the rode by 4pm, so spent 6 hour here. I wish it could have been a bit faster, but out of my control. Carlos was professional, helped me pick the right car (given the specs I wanted) and overall, was a good sales consultant. He tried to save me a bit here and there, which I appreciated. But, did recommend important things like window tinting and lifetime battery warranty as I've had to already replace several out here in a short time. I also ended up getting a wrap around insurance too as a hybrid vehicle will need different maintenance... I would give this place 5 stars however I felt they could have come down a bit more on the MSRP, but what do I know? I'm a cheapskate always looking for a dirt cheap bargain. I've loyally brought my car to their service department for over 3 years and thought they could have gone a tad lower. And also, I was stuck there for lunch, and wished they had some better snacks. All the sodas were empty and only popcorn available, so I was really starving by 4pm. Again Mark Mazda wasted my time and attempted to take my money without being straight forward. Called to schedule an appointment for multiple issues with my car. Asked if everything was covered under the warranty was told yes. Scheduled an appointment three weeks out. Arrive 10 minutes early, watch while they help others behind me before they get to me. When they get to me they tell me it will be 250(ish) to diagnose it and added one of the issues wasn't covered under the warranty. So again an hour drive there wasted. After my god awful experience being forced to purchase this car from them. Which is a total other disaster. So in short even if you got a warranty through them they will lie about coverage, not tell you about up front costs to get you there in hopes you give in to just get it done. The key to negotiating with this dealership is to demand a print out of the vehicle and all of the options. Pay close attention to all of the crap you don't want ...roof racks, floor liners, etc. which can tack on thousands of dollars of items that you don't need. These things are optional and demand they are removed from the vehicle. They can be purchased after market for 1/5 or less the cost the dealership quotes. They typically have several specials going at the same time to bait people into the shop. Those offers do not stack. You only get one of the financing gimics. Understand them and choose the best for you. Next is to get your own financing. You can get it from your bank in a few moments through their mobile app. If you don't qualify or the terms with your bank are too expensive, then you need to do some soul searching and figure out how to get a cheaper clunker that won't break your back financially. No one cares what you're driving but yourself. Despite telling the sales agent I was either going to pay cash or use my own financing, the final paperwork came with their financing details that were 3% higher than what I had through my own bank and for 1 year longer than we had discussed. Don't rush and sign something you're not clear on the details. Push back and demand what was agreed to in person. Also, they play the game of 'sign this sheet of paper'. They will come to you with some details on one side of a sheet of paper with the financial details and ask you to sign the reverse side to 'let the finance manager know you're serious '. Don't sign anything. It's just a game to make you psychological involved and usually indicates you'll sign anything to get the vehicle. Get up and walk out if you're not comfortable. On the plus side there was no pressure to purchase. They were more than accommodating in letting me test drive multiple vehicles and I think even brought ones in from other nearby dealerships. The sales agent we worked with knew less than me about the products. It took forever to test drive the exact model we wanted. Again, I think they brought it in from across town. But they did tell us. We waited for easily 45 minutes before it was 'available'. It was nice that they made the effort, but communication would have helped. In all I was at the dealership for almost 7 hours. By far the most time to close a deal I've ever spent. read more

My experience has been very disappointing. Within less than 3,000 miles of driving the vehicle off the lot, I experienced serious mechanical issues, including failure of the serpentine belt and water pump. I also paid $4,000 for a warranty that has provided no real support when I actually needed it. The lack of assistance and unwillingness to help resolve the issue has been unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others before doing business here or with their sister company, Mark Mitsubishi. read more

Let me begin by saying that I would give a negative rating if I could. DONT BUY FROM MARK MAZDA! This was by far the WORST dealership and buying experience I have every experienced, and I buy a car every few years! The beginning of the purchase was simple and easy. Salesman was great, communicated, gave great customer service and made me feel confident in my purchased, as I did this all online because I do not live in the area. Financing and signing paperwork was fast and easy. Then....... 1. Paid for the vehicle to get delivered. Purchased was finalized on a Thursday and vehicle was supposed to be delivered in next few days. Nope, day after day delivery date was pushed back. My sister was driving through and was going to pick car up for me and drive it up. I called dealer to have them get it ready, and they told me that the car was not ready to be picked up as it was in at another dealership getting some maintenance! WTF! 2. Never got delivered so we drove down to get the car. Dealership, multiple staff knew we were coming and when we would be there. I even text them letting them know we were on our way and had at least 30+ mins to get car ready. 3.Got to dealership, car was parked right out front. Thought "there is no way that is the car, it is so dirty." Went inside and a staff member told us that the car would be right out, it was just finishing getting detailed. We waited another 20+ minutes before having to find a staff member to inquire about the car. Long story short, that was our car parked out front, dirty as F***K, inside and out, and an empty tank!! It appeared that it was being used during time that it should have been being delivered! 4. No paperwork was given to us! All the paperwork in the glovebox was from the previous owner. There is so much I have left out, I could go on and on! Oh and there are some dents, one that is pretty big, that were not disclosed!!! This dealership has THE WORST communication. I purchased a vehicle here and it's had multiple recalls (not their fault - I'll get there). What they are awful at is communicating what fees they charge when bringing in a vehicle for the recalled or extended warranty on parts. I made an appointment weeks ago as there's another part that's faulty on my vehicle. I scheduled a time to bring it in. Just arrived and was told it will be a $215 visit "if they sent able to recreate the issue" while they have my vehicle at the dealership over the weekend and into next week. This should have been discussed prior to me booking the appointment and driving all the way here today. An hour of drive time to be told I may be charged over $200 for them to look at the faulty vehicle they sold me. I've had a bf experience at this dealership multiple times. I scheduled an appointment in advance to test drive a used car (that was not a Mazda), coordinating with a salesperson ahead of time to ensure everything was ready. When I arrived, the salesperson I had spoken with wasn't even there, and no one seemed to know I had an appointment. The car itself was not in a condition to present to a customer--dusty/dirty inside and out, with an empty gas tank despite my request for a test drive. As soon as their team started it the engine made concerning noises, which the staff said was "normal"...it sounded like the timing belt or turbo was about to go out. The tires were bald of tread on the side facing the interior, which likely means they flipped the tires so the less worn part was more visible, and the staff said they met their minimum requirements to not replace- whoever buys the car will likely need to purchase new tires within the next 2 months. To top it off, I requested a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) from a dealership of the car's specific make, but they refused unless I committed to purchasing the car first--an absurd policy, given the obvious mechanical issues that could lead to costly repairs they wouldn't cover. This dealership clearly doesn't care about customer service, transparency, or selling quality vehicles. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere that values your time and money. read more

The sales team was great and easy to work with. I traded my car in and bought a new one same day. I bought a Tesla (do not buy one here) and they did not charge the battery leaving me 100 miles. I drove around trying to find one and none in stock. I went to a charging station and the dealership didn't transfer the ownership to me so I could not add a credit card in the tesla app to pay for charging. I went home and ordered one on Amazon. I went back to the dealership the next day to drop off the title and extra key for my trade in. I asked to speak with a manager as the description of my car on the listing, showed the car had ventilated seats. It does not. I also wanted to share my experience regarding the charging and ownership transfer as I almost ran out of juice the first day trying to find a charger. My sales person asked the manager to speak with me while I sat and waiting. I waited 20 mins and then walked over to the office and asked if I could speak with a manager. I voiced my dissatisfaction as the manager's office was right in front of the table I was sitting at. He was laughing and joking with 2 others behind the glass office for 20 mins knowing I wanted to speak with him. After telling him I didn't appreciate this, he forcefully grabbed be by the arm and said get the F out of my store? I said gets your hand off me I just bought a car and had some issues. I asked to speak with another manager and was told no. I asked for his card and he refused to give it. I went to the front desk and asked for his card and if there was a corporate number to file a complaint. I did get his card but was told there is no corporate number. Adam Struse, general sales manager has no business dealing with the public. It's sad when a company is unwilling to provide their corporate office number. I am not the easiest customer to deal with but in no way deserved to be forcefully touched my the GM trying to push me out of the store? I am just at a loss. Does Mazda do background checks on their employees? There are cameras all over the store. I called corporate and filed a formal complaint requesting the camera footage. Unacceptable behavior! Adam Struse has no business being a manager. He belongs in jail. He had no right to put his hands on me. When I told him about the heated seats he said show me the ad. I pulled up and it was gone and said sold. I asked him to pull back up and he said he doesn't control the internet. I asked him to ask him IT guy and he wouldn't. If this is who Mazda has representing them, they are in serious trouble. This man is a liability. He is rude, violent and, downright mean. The definition of a bully. read more

If you yearn for the old timey car buying experience then Mark Mazda is for you. These guys are slimy. I tried to buy a CX-30 last year and based on the reviews nothing has changed. After the test drive: Pros: Sales rep (A.J.) was very nice and courteous Cons: 1. Their website said $27,000 the contract presented to me started at $30,000 2. Sales Manager called in and he smelled like booze. Lied when he said it must be a 4th of July Promo. Liar - that car had been up on their site for 3 months at $27,000 3. $899 Doc fee is double the going rate and absurd 4. Add-ons. GM said he can't remove Lojak (are they even relevant?), Key Fob replacement, or the ceramic glass coating. This was a used car and the according to Carfax the previous paid for. He said it was insurance. Pretty crappy insurance if I have to pay the exact amount of the original service. The $27K car was going to cost me $36K. WTF? 5. He rewrote the contract with a "discount" on those add ons. Hmm. I don't know why the registration fee went up $150 on the new quote 6. Even though I was paying cash they slid a piece of paper to me that only that listed $1000, $2000 etc down and a monthly payment. How dumb do they think we are? There was no way I would pay $900/mo for a used CX30 7. Was told the car was already sold 8. After leaving the lot I was texted by 2 or 3 Sales Reps saying they had other cars. I know a lot of used car dealerships operate that way, but A.J. was my sales rep and it wasn't his fault that management was a bunch of sleazeballs 9. Just started getting texts again - a year later. Some are normal texts saying "Hi, this is...from.." I have ignored them, but I got one that just said " Hi, how are you doing" with the same last 4 digits of the previous texts. That's not cool using that tactic to try to get me to respond 10. RUN away from this dealer. I have purchased 2 cars from Penske Autogroup and they have always been straight and easy going with me. read more

Bought low mileage Audi was told certified and nothing to worry about. 4 months down on a country road got a flat. Went to change and under the spare no tire kit... no jack, no way to remove tire, nothing. When I got the car and got home to NM I noticed a tire had a piece torn and was glued back, I informed my sales agent of this and they never acknowledged. When I was stuck on the side of the road for 3 hours in the middle of nowhere I informed management at Mark Mazda and dead silence not even a get lost reply. Be very aware of how this place is. I made an appointment and everything went smooth from there. The waiting room is nice, spacious modern and clean. Complementary coffee, tea, juice, water and snacks! One particular thing that left a lasting positive impression was video recording of vehicle inspection process which is then sent to customer for verification. I had a great experience with AJ Muhammad (sales associate) at this Mazda dealership! I communicated with him via text ahead of time. He stayed in touch until our appointment. Once I was there, he pulled my car up to look at and it was BEAUTIFUL!! I had a lot of questions about the technology (hybrid plugin) and he answered all of them. He showed me all the tech inside the car and explained how to use it. Then we went around and looked at different colors and interiors of the various cars on the lot. AJ was extremely knowledgeable about all of Mazda's offerings. And of course, AJ was a good person to discuss the out-the-door price with! Thanks for all of your help AJ! Some unqualified person in their service department said this is not a manufacturing issue even though I know several other people having the same problem. Then they will blame it on corporate and corporate will blame it on their dealership. Steer clear of Mazda. They have paint problems and they don't want to help! Post purchase care was non-existent. They extend a note to bring the car in but say they have a mandatory $200 service fee. They told me to replace a faulting A/C line they would charge me, so i don't trust them to do the airbag reprogramming at all for the recall. Since having the car i have replaced all the missing bolts scavenge for parts. To be fair a VW dealerships did this also leading to a catrophic freeway collapse of the front wheel drive train. Insurance agent attended second repair and found the same issue at VW. i.e. 6 sump guard skid plate bolts. The person who traded it in looked after it but it was clear there was a concern about the gearbox. It was underfilled and getting hot, very amber at 42k Miles,, Diff was fine and clean. Sales experience was awefull, just awefull. Perhaps the worst we have ever experienced ever anywhere. Not had any contact with them since purchase, Trying to find another dealer for the airbag recall. Car is not worth the money i paid in material assets, but is worth it in personal fun. Dont waste you time. They dont care about you and have sketchy business practices. I was in contact about a specific used car. I was called by Justin, gave all my information and completed the financing application. I was told later that day that i was approved for a loan and we set up a date/time for me to come test drive it and do paperwork. I am from out of town and drove about 3 hours to come look at this car. I got a confirmation text the morning of about the appointment and arrived an hour ahead of schedule. Justin was not available but another sales associate informed me that the car was sold the night before and wanted me to look at other vehicles (that were older and had many more miles on them). I refused and left. I tried to call Justin but was sent to voicemail. I text him stating that I was upset the car was sold and I wasnt informed and that i would like the hard pull on my credit taken off. He sent a text back stating they didnt do a hard pull on my credit but when i checked later that day, there were 6 hard pulls!!! Ridiculous and a waste of time. I chose another dealership that spent time listening to my needs, giving me multiple options of better vehicles and making sure i had a great buying experience. Will never recommend them!
