Hands down best sandwiches and pizza in northwestern Michigan. I could honestly eat any of their sandwiches everyday without getting sick of it. This place is a hidden gem. They roast their own turkey, ham and corned beef, all their sauces are homemade and fresh pizza toppings. The service is always amazing, the staff is so friendly and always willing to crack jokes with customers. For how small it is, they pack a ton of people in without service going downhill. I love the outdoor /indoor seating. You can take to go mixed drinks and beers. It's honestly one of the best places to eat around. Best spot, best people

I would drive here just for the pizza. I've never had a Reuben pizza but now if anyone else has it, it'll have to compare to Market 22's. It is fantastic! Ordering was easy and pick up was a breeze! Great experience while up north. I look forward to visiting again!

Came here for Sunday Brunch after church. I was impressed with the friendly service and amazing menu items. I had the Chorizo Eggs Benedict. What an explosion of flavor texture and the right amount of spice. The pancakes were some of the best I've ever had. Fluffy, crispy and sweet. Plus I hear the pizza and sandwiches are out of this world. I shall return.

Delicious and good quality food! We went for breakfast and lunch. Did not disappoint. Would recommend getting there when they open for brunch on Sunday!

The Clevelander! My 11 year old picked some toppings off, but absolutely loved it once she was done overthinking.

Seriously, have a meal here.... We absolutely love the area!!! But we had a really hard time finding even a kind of decent restaurant. Everything was fueled by tourist foot traffic, and the reviews were super unreliable. We found Market 22 while passing by. We turned around and had a great lunch!!! My girls got really good sandwiches, I had a regular pizza, and my husband had their award winning Reuben Pizza. I wish I could remember ours server's name. She was obviously a wonderful person. Everything she said was genuine and kind. Within 45 seconds, my husband quietly said, "I really like her vibe!" We don't use the word vibe. But she really did have good vibes! She was just the best. Cute girl, maybe 20 years old, with dreads. Like, I wanna be friends with her. Back to the food. The sandwiches were stupid, like out of this world, stupid good! My husband loved his Rueben Pizza! I loved my pizza, too! If this were in my hometown, I'd be there at least twice a week!

House smoked meats and unbelievable large sandwiches. Tasty pizza too. Could work on better tap beer selection tho.

I had a wonderful first visit to Sugar to Salt and will definitely be back…read more I ordered the breakfast risotto with a side of the cast-iron cornbread. The risotto was outstanding--loaded with incredibly fresh vegetables, smoky tasso ham, creamy raclette cheese, and one of the best pestos I've ever tasted. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about risotto for breakfast, but it absolutely worked. The cast-iron cornbread was also excellent, especially the honey butter glaze and the whole kernels of corn throughout. The service was warm and friendly, even during a very busy brunch. This is definitely on the pricier side, but I felt the quality of the ingredients, the creativity of the menu, and the care that went into every dish made it worth it. My only food-related criticism was that my poached egg was just slightly overcooked, but it was a very minor issue in an otherwise exceptional meal. My biggest suggestion for improvement would be the acoustics inside the dining room. When the restaurant is busy, the noise level becomes overwhelming and takes away from what is otherwise a fantastic dining experience. I ended up sitting outside, and the patio was peaceful and relaxing. I hope the owners consider adding some acoustic treatment because the food deserves an atmosphere that matches its quality. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying several other dishes on the menu.

They don't have an espresso machine but they brew a really good espresso blend. For breakfast, we ordered the carrot cake pancakes, the toast, and a side of turkey sausage. Everything is farm to table and made fresh. The food is incredible. I ordered the carrot cake pancakes. The attention to detail with the candied ginger and homemade rosemary simple syrup was noted. My belly was so happy. The side of Turkey sausage was so good. It's not your basic sausage. They are homemade with roasted onions, leeks, and herbs. This changes every season, which is so exciting. My husband's toast was made with brisket. I tried a bite. The combination of fresh veggies, homemade bread, and brisket was so good. Vanessa was our server. She was so great! So friendly and helpful. This is one of my all time favorite breakfast places. Can't wait to come back.

During our first visit, I ordered their sweet chili chicken and waffle. Fried chicken critters in hot honey kimchi sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds. So good! Sweet, spicy and savory. All the wonderful flavors melded together in great harmony. It's like a party for my taste buds. Not only that, their coffee was also good. I had a mimosa with guava juice. They offer other juices for their mimosas! My husband had the blueberry with lemon curd pancakes which looked so good. On our second visit, I had their kale potato breakfast hash and a side of bacon (3 pieces). Again, another successful execution of the dish. Service is great. The hostess even remembered us on our second visit. The server during our first visit was amazing and attentive. The second, not so much but other people attended to our needs where our server failed to do so.

It felt like a lot of ingredients on top of full lettuce leaves that made it hard to eat or enjoy. But that's the last of my nitpicking. The fries were fantastic. Fantastic sandwich and pizza option if you're headed to or from Sleeping Bear Dunes!…read more We came across Shipwreck Cafe after stopping for gas next door on the way to Sleeping Bear Dunes. We wanted a kid friendly option and came in for the pizza, but ended up being blown away by the massive sandwich menu! Don't be discouraged by the line - it moves FAST!!!! The young people at the register and in the kitchen are efficient and so nice!!! We arrived about half an hour before the sign says pizzas are ready, and the lovely man at the register said "sure!" when we asked if we could order a pizza. The menu has something for everyone - Including plenty of vegetarian options (I think they even had a vegan option). I loved my Griffon, and the meat eaters in our group enjoyed the SS Noronic (a BLT) and the Fitzgerald. Our kids devoured their cheese pizza! They also carry Great Lakes Co Chips, which are some of the best potato chips we've ever had. Our sandwiches were all so inventive with delicious, fresh ingredients, amazing condiments, and the most freshly baked "pretzel rolls" ever. If this place wasn't a vacation stop for us, we'd be back all the time! Our kiddos favorite part, bedsides the pizza, were the tiny plastic swords that came in our sandwiches holding them together. When they each wanted one more sword, we went back inside and the staff inside was so used to kids asking for more tiny swords that their response to "May we have two more swords?" Was "Sure! What colors?!" Very different from what the response would have been where we're from. :) We even came back later in the day for the frozen custard!!! All in all, it was a great experience with great food, great service, plenty of outdoor picnic tables under umbrellas, and something for everyone to eat.
