The Water St. location is the easiest for me to access, so I typically do all of my weekly grocery…read moreshopping here. The prices are very reasonable compared to the other local options and has a good selection. It's very rare that they don't have what I need. The store itself is clean, the shelves are kept stocked, and in general things are easy to find. My one issue is that the cashiers always have a poor attitude. I have worked in customer service and I completely understand that dealing with the general public is not fun, but faking a smile is just part of the job. Half the time, the "leads," or whatever they are called, are just standing around on their phones while the cashiers are swamped with long lines- which probably contributes to the unpleasant mood. Ultimately, I am still going to shop here due to its convenient location, but I always leave feeling like my presence is a bother.

It's so inconvenient and inconsistent that it hurts when I pick up the phone to try and call them ahead of time. Sadly, I wanted to get it in ahead of my shopping but they can't even help me do that. Sad place......

I would give this store negative stars if that were possible. Poorly run, terrible workers…read moreconditions. Staff always call out and the managers solution is to make other staff work 6 days a week. The staff seem miserable, nobody knows where anything is when you ask for help, they act offended like you don't at them. It's not very clean, products are often not stocked properly so you have to ask to check the back. The people running the front where the registers are act extremely unprofessional, there have been times they've been throwing things back and forth while customers were around. All the decent staff seem to have left, now all that's left are people who can't communicate properly or do a poor job at what they're supposed to be doing. More times than I can count, my bags have ripped because the baggers don't pay attention to what they're doing and I've lost stuff from breaking when the bags rip open. The produce is hit or miss, often going bad or covered in mold, like the strawberries. One time I went through six containers trying to find one that wasn't covered in white fuzzy mold, and eventually gave up. The company slogan used to be ", focusing on friendly" when you looked at the name tags, but it feels very very far from that nowadays. If I wanted miserable workers and a sub-par experience, I could just drive down the street to the dollar store. Overall, negative 3 stars out of 10. Not sure who runs it, but it's a far cry from functional.

great local seafood wholesaler!…read more Living in Fitchburg my entire life, I have been blind to many local offerings that my quaint town provides. It was only a couple of years ago that a coworker of mine was raving about this place and couldn't believe I had never gone. The parking spots in front of the building fill up very quickly. However, if you drive towards the back where the trucks pull in, you can actually drive up the slope for several more spots. I believe there's another adjacent bunch of spots to park on the ground level, but I'm not confident. As soon as you step inside, there are 2 lines you can wait in. Towards the left you can order food from their kitchen and enjoy the typical assortment of fried seafoods that you've probably already familiar with from many other joints. In fact, this place has a sister location called Kay's Dairy Bar in Westminster. Towards the right, you stand in line for the wholesale products. Today I came in the some big ol lobsters. The staff here are all super friendly, as well as all of the customers. I had pleasant conversations with everyone. I was able to get my three 4-pound behemoths steamed here, and you can eat ask for a cup of drawn butter from the restaurant side. Since I was feeling hungry, I grabbed a plate of fried scallops too. Lobsters - I follow their FB page and I was drawn in by a couple of the posts showcasing some behemoths. I was slightly disappointed that they maxed out at about 4-pounds on the day I showed up, but everyone in line said that it was better that way anyway. My lobsters took about 30min to steam and when I got home and cracked them open, the meat was perfection. Fried Scallops - I love love love scallops. This place does it just as well as Kimball's and I think I'm just going to come here from now on to support a local business instead.

Grocery shopping has become so difficult! I have started to shop at the Lunenburg Hannaford's…read morebecause it is convenient for me on my way home from work. The first time there, on a Friday, I was hit on by 4 men. Must have been wearing my pretty anti-viral mask that day. Store layout is pretty good, they have a good variety of product. I am not knocking Hannaford for the out of stocks, the world is out of stock right now. I am going to knock the store for the incredible amount of price errors. Shelf will state a price and the item will ring up at least /30 higher at the register. I never see these until I am at home reviewing my receipt, and it's a hassle to bring everything back to the store, so they get me again. 3 strikes and I am out though. A few days ago I placed a large ($200) pickup order. 1st weird thing, they don't ring up the order until you're waiting in the parking lot, so I sat in the car for almost a half hour. Ok, still some time saved. Once home, I realized that the 2 10-12 pound turkeys at .59 per pound had rung up at 28 pounds for a total of almost $30.00 Listed for .59 per pound, but the total price showed almost double the advertised and printed on receipt price. How does this even happen? It looked like a deliberate cheat. Who is going to question a receipt when the price per pound is listed correctly? This receipt is going to the town for a weights and measures review. Also, cold cuts ordered were sliced slab thick and rolled almost into a ball- and the cheese had the bits of plastic sliced into the stack. Inedible and gross. Lastly, when I placed the order online, a service fee credit was included, for first time order. This was not included with my receipt, so I 9was overcharged the service fee, the turkey pricing, and I have slabby thick torn in half deli meats. The rest of the order came in pretty good. So, just under 25% of the order was do very wrong. Could definitely be better.

My favorite grocery store in the area…read more I've been to the others: the Market Baskets, the Shaws', the tiny Ayer Hannaford. The Lunenburg Hannaford is really the best around. The store itself is always clean, and has a more warm feel to it than the others. As far as selection goes, they have just the right amount of variety and prices are fair (unlike Shaws who has almost everything but is super-expensive, and cheap Market Basket with gaping holes in their stock).

We placed an in-store pickup order which contained a bicycle for a birthday gift for my child, and…read morelater received an email stating that the item was actually out of stock. My partner was already at the store by the time we realized this, and since the offered free shipping wasn't a workable option for us, he went inside to see what other bikes might be available. To his surprise, there were two of the exact same (easily recognizable/findable) brightly colored toddler bikes sitting on the sales floor that we were just told were unavailable. He was then able to purchase one of those bikes directly in the store. I completely understand that mistakes happen and inventory systems aren't gonna be always perfect. However, it's tough to understand how an online pickup order could be canceled for being out of stock when the exact item was available for purchase in store??? It just feels like no one took the time to verify whether the item was actually available before canceling the order. Disappointing customer service.

I know this was the day before Thanksgiving but if they were not able to deliver, they simply should not have had delivery options available. Because we thought that they were delivering, we didn't go to the store to get the items that I needed for Thanksgiving and for my granddaughter's birthday party which was on Thanksgiving. (I did do a full thanksgiving shopping but had forgotten things). Here it is the day after Thanksgiving and I still have not received my order. After calling customer service, they gave me a $15 food credit which I think is laughable. I understand in the grand scheme of things, this is small potatoes but just wanted to put this out there. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.
