I've been in retail since '89 . Managed stores. So, I know what the customer is looking for. Pricing is good. Usually has what I need. (key word, usually) Can't say customer service is very good. Mostly kids working and there is no instructional supervision at all. "Just a job." for elder employees. Very few know where things are. The deli has the worst employees I've encountered. I have never felt a good vibe going into this store (milford) the customers are rude and not one person smiles the staff is worse. I looked at mgr and didn't acknowledge me smile nothing. WORST.customer.service.EVER! I guess you get what you pay for and their prices are so much better than Shaws. But do not expect anything in the way of customer service. They're having too good a time chatting with each other to pay attention to your needs. Expect to repeat yourself multiple times at the deli counter, and if you want your deli meat sliced thinly, ask to see a sliced sample! Too much of a bother for them. The checkout woman gave a loud sigh of impatience because I had jars and bottles packed in a wine bag. She told me to put my 24-can cube of Diet Coke at the end when I asked her to scan it, then had the nerve to get upset when it smashed into my berries. She barked at me! I was furious! I spend $200-$300/week in this store and have since moving to Francestown, NH, in November. Enough!!! I'm driving to Bedford to patronize Hannafords from now on. 40 minutes in the car is worth dealing with employees who understand that the customer is the only reason they're in business. read more

Small enough to be an easy shop and large enough to have a good selection. The store us clean and the employees always very helpful with a good attitude. Produce is good but deli choices are not as many as I would like. Still give it a 5 because it's a good location for me. read more

The video circulating on Facebook off the manager lecturing a crowd in the parking lot today is receiving a lot of praise. Well, you made some good points but did you really, as a manager, a leader, have to put down another company? Shaw's. Yes, my mother works there and has for almost 20 years so I do take high offensive to your condescending lecture dragging another brand into it. During the coronavirus Shaw's has increased their employee's pay by $2 an hour. I've heard that Market Basket has done nothing. You also have to limit the number of people in your store because your sanitation practices are non existent. In no way is your company perfect. I agree, people are acting crazy and doing things that are not ok. You lecturing like a school teacher and bringing down another company is shameful. read more

I'm boycotting Market Basket until they start giving a damn about their employees. The last 2 times I went the cashier and baggage handlers had no protective gear on. No gloves, no masks, no plexi-glass to protect them from the Coronavirus. I asked them why and they said it's not mandatory. I went to Market basket today 12-17-22 to do my food shopping and when the cashier got done bagging my order she said your all set and I just stood there looking at her I had just paid $150.00 on food she wrung it up and bagged it but there was no bagger her her register so all my bags were left on the counter and she would not put them in my cart and there were baggers just standing around talking so I had to put all my bagged food in my cart myself and let me tell you I had some choice words for that girl she did not even wait till I was doneshe just started ringing up the next person and pushing his food into my bags I will NEVER be shopping at market basket again I usally go there every other week and spend $150.00 - $200 But not anymore!! read more

Market Basket in Milford can no longer be a one stop grocery store. I had to give up and start using a different store in Nashua. So many weeks they would be missing items. Items as simple as tenderloin and Hellman's mayonnaise. Even taco seasoning in the packet. My tuna that I buy went missing for almost a month. Then we have the deli. How many times I have asked for my deli meat to be shaved? They just will not shave the deli meat! This store is not known for great quality - can we at least have some stocked shelves?? Maybe some Lysol near the seafood and deli!! I'm done!!! I will now go out of my way to avoid this Ghetto Bucket!!! read more

You know it's not bad enough that 6 months ago i stopped shopping at this store.Because the cashiers are very rude. But I went into the store today because I needed something that I forgot at walmart so I stopped in to grab one thing . And I took a basket because the item I wanted was on sale two for 5.00. So I decided to get 6 then I went up to the cashier and put my basket on the belt .The cahier looks at me then looks at the bagger and said so I will be a little slower because she didn't take the items out of the basket so now I have to. So i said is there a problem and she wouldn't even answer me . What is wrong with that store it use to be nice going there. Now all I hear and see are bad things and nobody wants to shop there anymore .They only go because it is cheaper then shaws . I have been going to this store for over 10 years. In the last 10 years I have seen a huge improvement with regards to the various items the store carries to the cleanliness of the place. The people are genuinely pleasant and don't mind my coupons. That is when I remember to bring them. The customer service is very nice. If you cannot find an item they will walk with you to the aisle and find it for you. Shaw's and Stop and Shop are literally $1 to $2 if not more, for the basics. It just doesn't make sense to not shop here. I can say there are times when certain meat items I cannot find here but then again I have never asked if they would carry them. The choice around here is Shaw's or Wal-Mart or whatever general store is closest to you, which is strictly for emergencies.* Market Basket has a decent selection for various types of customers, and the prices are fair. Excellent, actually. Market basket in an old school culture that embraces lower prices for returning customers in lieu of a big profit on small items. Typically located in proximity to Massachusetts because they are traditionally and historically a Massachusetts store. Best prices on almost anything you would shop for in a grocery store. Not the same international variety of a hannafords or the fried chicken options of a Shaw's but best meat, dairy, produce and general grocery prices of any other store in this area. Here is where they lose points for me. Narrow isles, carts blocking check out lines to get in, stickers blocking the isle, they seem to be the model of inefficiency for allowing shoppers access and ease of maneuvering through the store. 5-6 mangers standing around up front, everyone acting like they are more important than people shopping. And my favorite girl only at the cash registers. Time to ditch the ties, the inconvenient all day stocking and the sexist practices and enter the 21st century. read more

I love this store. The employees are friendly, helpful and good at their jobs. And, they have some really good buys. For instance: I ran out of my usual dental floss and purchased the Market Basket brand which cost 99 cents for 100 yards, much less expensive than other brands. Imagine my surprise: this dental floss is the most effective dental floss I've ever used! I'm sticking with this brand! And, with the store, of course. read more

This is a great store to shop and get the best everyday prices. Plus excellent sale prices. It has greatly improved in quality of produce and meat from several years ago... which is when I switched from a competitor. They really support the community and hire a TON of students and people who might otherwise have a hard time finding a job... so there is almost always a short to zero line, and people rushing to bag for you. The only trade-off, because they use students, they stock a lot during the day.. so you need to maneuver around stacks of boxes or rows of employees in the isles at times. Mid day, mid week, not a problem. But it can be very challenging during a pre snow storm trip. The trade off, though, is worth it. I love the ambiance of the other store in town, but the savings here win me over. read more

This store depresses me. I'm a die hard Stop and Shop fan, sometimes Shaw's. Market Basket is always full of sad looking old folks. It stinks in there, especially in the back near the deli. It's very upsetting that this is the only store within 20 minutes of my home. The produce is... Horrible, for lack of a better word. We went to the store yesterday and the green beans we just bought have already gone moldy. Same goes for berries. The meats are adequate at best. You have to be very cautious what cuts you decide to buy, may be extremely tough and poorly butchered. No seafood from there, ever. The whole section smells like a poorly kept fish market, I would never trust any of it. The color shows that the fish is poorly maintained in the store. The staff is friendly, but the basic sales associates have zero knowledge of the store or professionalism and make no eye contact, even if you approach. Plus, I don't really want to be hearing about their weekends out while I'm getting groceries as I'm quite certain a few of them are far too young to be drinking. The staff can be very friendly, but I would never want to ask them for help finding something as they don't seem to know what the store carriers itself. I don't even find this store is "you get what you pay for." I pay a fair amount on groceries and find myself throwing away an obscene amount due to rot or poor quality. Staff's never looked happy, but they had good prices with an okay selection, tending toward large family sizes. But ... evenings, shelves are often out of the basics. Worse, they apparently instruct staff to pull from the back of the shelf and fill with whatever. So you can spend a lot of time hunting and come up empty. On a recent search for a candy thermometer, I checked in all the grocery stores, they all had the same one I didn't want, but much to my surprise, Market Basket had the highest price. Market basket is affordable, and the selection is great. Sometimes the upper management can seem a little crabby, but I probably would be too! I have been coming to Market basket since I moved here 21 years ago, and I love it!! I like that they give our youth a chance to work too. There are several comments on here from those who don't buy fresh items, produce, meat, fish -- because they are cautious. I have been buying fish there for years, i always ask to sniff it before buying and have made sushi out of the tuna often. Their fish is usually pristine, as well as chicken and meat although I don't buy them often. read more

Market Basket is easily the best of the 3 in town. It's easy to keep say Stop & Shop clean with almost no customers to mess it up!! As for Shaws, pros- excellent produce dept, pros end here though. con-Stupid "Wild Harvest" section so you can't find anything. POOR store layout. read more

Went to store on Friday 3:30 May 1, in the midst of coronavirus outbreak the store was horrendous!!! The carts were all dirty we had to find the wipes and wipes them ourselves, no one outside to limit customers and no signs six feet apart etc. Store full!! of people!!! jammed in the aisles two or three feet apart. At one point surrounded by five people all three feet from me in veggie aisle. None!!! of workers wore masks and all two feet apart right next to customers and other workers, MOST customers had no masks either !! No plexiglass to protect cashiers or the customers no six feet apart. GO to Market Basket northwest BLVD in Nashua not far, but the lines were six feet apart I only waited five minutes. most customers and all workers had masks and they had plexiglass shields and had cashier every second aisle. Only one or two people in each aisle. And checking out everyone stayed far from each other. Also carts were precleaned !! DONT GO TO STORE IN MILFORD UNLESS YOU WANT CORONAVIRUS!!! spend an extra 15 minutes to go to store in Nashua and be safe. Store at NWBLVD not crowed either!!! read more

Market Basket in Milford NH has, for the most part, the best prices of the three grocery stores in Milford. On average, the savings are 20-30% better than Shaws or Stop & Shop. However sometimes other store sales will make for a better price. The pricing is the Pro in this review. The cons at this store include aisles that are narrow, neatness and cleanliness that are not up to the other stores in town. I tend to only purchase items that come factory packed. Not fresh produce, or meats. While some of the staff here are very friendly and helpful, the rest seem as though they would rather be elsewhere. If the store were to remodel, expand the aisles, get new fixtures and freezers, and improve the overall appearance of the store it would be a much better place to shop. read more

This is an exceptionally clean store and clean parking lot. The staff is courteous and helpful. The layout is not annoying, like Shaw's, (you are not constantly reminded that your selections are being manipulated by placement of displays.) The produce is fresh, the meat is fresh, and the prices are reasonable. My only complaint is that they run out of stock sometimes, and close up the space on the shelf because of over-fastidiousness. Been shopping here for a year and a half and I am devoted to this store. I was raised with Wegmans so my expectations for grocery stores could not be higher. This store is not Wegmans but it is a manageable, reasonably clean store with excellent prices, a good enough selection, and usually terrific customer service. They have enough organic products to get by and the conventional stuff is fine. There are good farm stands nearby if you want to buy local meat, dairy and produce. I do not buy seafood, deli products, or prepared foods at Mkt Bskt, but I did get a fantastic delmonico roast there recently (first thing in the morning and there were only 3 in the case). It's a bustling place where I see lots of people who live around here... I love that. I much prefer Market Basket to shopping at the vast, disorienting, and strangely empty Shaw's and Stop and Shop nearby... these stores lack warmth, are much more expensive, and tend to incite existential panic in me. I'll choose my friendly local Market Basket any day. read more

I love this store in Milford. My problem is several months ago I blacked out for a very short time and fell. Other than many shoppers stopped to help not one employee in the store new what to do, not even the manager in charge! I laid one the floor and tried to get up to no avail. I sat on the floor for many minutes. A Milford policeman came into the store because he heard of the incident. At that time the manager stood there motionless and didn't even ask what he could help. He asked if the manager could help me and get me a drink and after many requests didn't respond. This wonderful policeman called over his communication device to get help and requested an ambulance. Even when the ambulance came he still did nothing. I offered to pay for a drink and after my sugar tested low asked for crackers and a drink still got nothing. My husband had been waiting for me in the car and he went and purchased a drink for me. I can remember that any store or business i worked for or friends worked for employees were always trained what to in case of any emergency and obviously this was so in this store. I do hope that something will change because of this incident! It think it took 45 minutes to finally get help. read more
