We both ordered the Pad Thai -- one loaded with extra protein, one without. I had low expectations. I've eaten enough Thai food to know that about 7 or 8 out of 10 places overcook the noodles. They become soft, mushy, and fall apart the moment you touch them. Not here. The noodles were cooked perfectly -- still chewy with a nice bite. The peanut sauce was another pleasant surprise. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy like many North American versions. The balance was just right. The spice level was mild, which I appreciated because the dish actually tasted like Pad Thai instead of being buried under a mountain of chili. The vegetables were generous, fresh, and plentiful. My boyfriend's chicken portion wasn't huge, but there was plenty of tofu, which made sense since the dish is originally designed as a vegetarian option. The chef seemed to add the chicken as an extra rather than making it the star of the plate. The portion looked manageable when it arrived. It was not. My latte was strong and tasty!
