We went to eat 11/20/25 about 4:30pm. The baked chicken was warm because she got it out of the warmer. My FIL got salmon and it was cold. My husband got hot chicken strips. They were also cold. The man that was in front of us got a quite large order to go, does that mean his was cold also. Btw we were the only ones there. There was a line behind us. The Market Street at 19th and Quaker is going down hill. The lunch time selections are either over cooked, very unappealing to the eyes and the customer service is on life support. What has happened?! MS and United is overrated and they have saturated the area, but are not offering anything pleasing. HEB is hanging in, and hopefully will continue to be the go to. read more

The pharmacy is down right horrible! Told prescriptions were ready at noon, went at 3:00 and still not ready. I've called in on a Thursday and was told they would be ready by 3:00 that day. I knew that was a lie so went at 4 pm the next day, 25 hours later, and still be an hour? This has happened a half a dozen times. Not sure who manages the pharmacy but they don't have a clue what they are doing. Don't tell me a prescription will be ready at a time and it will be hours or days later that's it's ready. A bad experience here today reminded me that I'm so happy about Lubbock finally getting an HEB. We will have an option for better prices, better products and better service. I got fuel at the pumps where the little United convenience store is. I walked in and up to the counter. The two clerks conversing behind the counter stepped back and just stared at me. I held up my money and informed them that I needed fuel. Still, no response, just staring. I finally asked in a more authoritative voice, "Are one of you going to assist me or not??". Finally, the male clerk stepped up and did his job. This inept behavior should be addressed but I'll bet that it won't. Again, thank you HEB for winning the battle to open up a location here. read more

This is my local neighborhood Market Street! Always easy to navigate and shop in. Always super friendly staff. My favorite cheesemonger is here. I love that you can get small samples of cheeses to purchase and try at home. This is the only place in town that carries ricotta salata, a mild cows milk cheese that I use for orzo pasta and arugula salads. read more

I have been shopping here for many years but I am not happy with what the remodel has brought. Peet's coffee to Starbucks is the first dissatisfier. Why on earth would that use the most expensive option for the many local customers that come there for coffee and conversation. All about the $$$ for them. Second they did away with the olive bar. I was offered canned or jarred olives instead. This is extremely upsetting to someone who cooks like I do to have to use lesser quality products. The change was not all good. read more

I left another store because I was so overwhelmed, and saw this pretty Market Street and 98th & Quaker. Bought prepared meals to do 4 dinners, a large Praters dressing. The store itself is great. The pharmacy has been pretty frustrating lately. When they tell you the meds will be ready in 30 minutes, you can pretty much assume you should AT LEAST double that. Happened twice in a row. I've been trying to leave town since 10am and it's 11:20 and still not ready. Should have been ready at 10:40 according to the info they gave when the script was received. Market street on 98th and Quaker are not enforcing masks! I went in recently and there were far too many customers for my comfort NOT wearing masks. This is a governor-mandated state law violation! I do not feel comfortable in this store since management lacks the will to enforce state law which is meant to keep the people spending money there safe. read more

If you're accustomed to a very well stocked Market Street or Amigos this one will disappoint; however, if you live in the area you're only other option is Walmart in which case you will love this Market Street. I usually shop at 50th & Indiana and it seems that the random thing I need when i stop here is always missing. Very disappointed in recent changes. Pete's coffee has been replaced by the more expensive Starbucks were you can not get refills. You must pay for another cup no discount. The coffee isn't as good as Pete's. Today we tried coffee and it was burnt beyond drinkable. Self checkout station are now up and running which means loss of jobs. Has a super great selection of anything you might need, along with great takeaway food options. My two favorite parts of Market Street is the sushi, and gluten free selection. Very unprofessional and rude pharmacy tech and pharmacist. I called to get a prescription filled to pickup with my other med that was ready. The gentleman said it was busy but could be ready in 45 min or possibly less. I arrived to the drive up window a little early at 35 minutes. The pharmacy tech, Michelle, was incredibly rude and short with me. She told me my other script would not be ready for 30-45minutes. In shock, I said "Oh, I called and added it and the guy said 45 minutes or could be less. It's been 30 minutes. Why another 30-45 minutes?" She ignored my question and told me to come back or wait in the parking lot and she would wave when it's ready. She then rang me up and told me a total. I said, "I'm sorry but why is it another 45 min and can I just ring them up together?" She huffed, "just park over there and I'll wave at you!" She walked off angry and then came back. The manager came to the window as I was telling her she was rude and I didn't appreciate her walking off like that or taking her bad day out on me. Jeremy, the manager/pharmacist, was even worse. He was not apologetic and smiled the whole time as if he found it funny. They both had a chance to apologize for her lack of customer service. However, he chose to make it worse with his lack of leadership or empathy. He could have set an example for her by properly checking into my script time and explaining why they just told me 45 min and it was going to be double the time now. A better answer would have been "I am so sorry we weren't able to get to your script in the time we estimated. Would you mind pulling over to the parking lot and we will get that filled as soon as possible. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. OR tell customer it will be an hour or two hours. Over shooting is better than under shooting. Also, I believed she was mistaken. Simply check into it and answer my question. Don't storm off and get an attitude. Very disappointed in the lack of care or service I received. I will be moving my scripts to another pharmacy. read more

I go for the salad bar and the soups! It is hard to travel and eat healthy on the road and they mostly have fantastic options....when available, get the Tortilla Soup....it is just like your favorite upscale mexican joint style...shredded strips of fresh rotisserie style chicken. The Green Chili, Chicken and Potato is fantastic and spicy too! I love it. The people working are always super nice and help you on the spot if you need anything at the soup and salad bars. I usually go to the Market Street on 50th, but I saw this one and figured I would stop by. It is comparable to the one on 50th, I felt the fresh cooked foods area was not as nice. It was smaller and the deli was not as good. However, the sushi was a lot better. The store did seem darker and less open than the other one, but it still had lots of good foods and even some better items. Their wine and beer selection looked more complete. They also had live lobsters and a nice meat counter with different pre-assembled meat dishes, e.g. beef and feta cheese pinwheels, peppered ribeye steak, apple stuffed chicken or turkey for roasting, etc (the 50th street has a large seafood section but no meat counter). At the 50th street one there is hardly ever any bargain/thrift food, possibly because it is busier, but at this one they had bread and all kinds of meat. I like buying the sale stuff because you can save a lot and have something tasty to put on the grill. The location is pretty far off the Loop, and there was a lot of construction in the immediate area when I went by which was a pain, plus I nearly got rearended by a driver in a big white van not paying attention on the way there (after she almost hit a red Mercury sedan too!). I will probably return in the future to the 50th street location, but this one is not bad! And as I said, the sushi was much more delicious at this location (the 50th street piles on the wasabi and has more boring selection). read more

Great grocery store! My wife comes in every morning for her daily cup of coffee and loves the Peet's Brand Coffee. I enjoy the breakfast burritos and their breakfast pizza is perfect. I went to this 98th Street Market Street store tonight and we left about 20 minutes after closing, not realizing that it wasn't a 24 hour store, and as we headed to check out, there was an employee vaping inside the store! We talked to the assistant manager and said that it was allowed and that they are allowed to smoke in the back room where all the food are kept. The manager then came and said yes it was allowed. They both looked like they got caught in a lie. I have a 2 year old son and they basically just said it is ok to smoke right next to food and around little kids. I have never heard of a grocery store allowing employees to smoke and now I do not trust the food from there and will never shop there again. Worst place ever! read more

Okay... so I kinda work here... in the kitchen, no less. Here is how this goes... our motto is "spoil the customers." Some workers here at this location get this, some don't. A lot depends on who is working and where. You can def pick the workers who care apart from the ones who don't. We are def differ from any other grocery store in Lubbock. What we offer: Mornings: An oatmeal bar (freshly made yogurt parfaits, fresh oatmeal, yogurt, granola, berries, fruit, oatmeal sides. We also have the salad bar out during the morning), Breakfast bar (breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, etc.) A breakfast pizza bar (well breakfast pizza is breakfast pizza... no explanation needed.) Lunch/DInner: A hot bar (fried chicken, fried fish, all the sides, etc.), Pizza bar (pizza... its pizza), Salad Bar (make your own salad, choose from three diferent types of lettuce and over 15 toppings as well as sides), Soup bar (our store has three soups daily, like every other Market Street Green Chile Chicken is daily), Signature salad bar (differs from salad bar, rather than help your self someone makes your salad to your liking and mixes it all together), and last but not least the Grill (burgers, grilled panini's etc.). We also do pre-packed salad/ sandwiches/ snack packs, which are made every morning. Also we have the show case, pre-made foods that just need heated up via microwave, oven, etc. We have a Coffee shop which serve's Peet's coffee's and tea's, as well as fresh made bakery products. There are two dining areas, one near coffee shop and a larger one in the hot foods area. Our bakery makes fresh items each morning for the floor as well as ordering at the bakery. Our Delicatessen serves Boar's Head products made to order to your liking. Working here gives me the chance to eat a lot of the freshly made foods I mentioned above. Where do I start? Pizza Bar: I absolutely love their pizza! I can't say that it's ALWAYS fresh however most of the time it is. I love it because it's really good and they sale it by the slice. The pepperoni can be greasy. Soup/Salad Bar: (this is where I work sometimes) It's okay. It's sometime fresh sometimes not (again depends on who is working). Our soups are good for the most part, my fave is the chicken and dumpling. The soup is kinda first come first serve, so say Pollo Tortilla is one of the soup of the days... if you come during the evening we are more likely to be out of it. (Especially the Beef Taco!) Signature Salad: Personally I have not tried it due to its roughly $5 for a small bowl. Hot food: I love our fried fish and chicken strips. (i wouldn't say we are the better than anyone tho). I have gotten food from there that didnt taste quite so fresh. Grill: Not too bad, sometimes a long wait, sometimes not. Coffee Shop: I love their coffee's (a great pick me up when I'm dragging in the early mornings). Bakery: Them muffins and donuts, YUM We do make a lot of stuff via recipe, such as our chicken salad, egg salad, etc. And this is just the hot foods/prepared food area. NOW ON TO THE ACTUAL GROCERY PART... not bad for a grocery store. Some items are a bit steep on prices and some not. Since I'm in the kitchen I don't really get to interact much with the rest of the store. I do shop here however and even tho the workers may know me I still get treated just like a regular customer. The selection is okay... they need to play a little game of catch up to Wal-mart, however. read more

And then there was the salad bar at the United Market Street... You just can't beat the hospitality of West Texans, unless you are the only Yankee in the family. They didn't know that fact at Market Street, so customer service was tip top even for me ;). The lettuce selection was sparse, nearly all gone for my choice, but the attachments were great including fresh cilantro, fresh diced green onion, and fresh olives. Not so much for the Iceberg Wedge but absolutely OK for the end of the day. Pizza was tip-top and the dining area was clean, comfortable and quiet for a nice social meal with friends and family. People make far worse decisions on movies than they would to choose this destinaton. read more

In Lubbock to see family and have always had good luck at the Amarillo store deli. Took my granddaughters to eat, they chose shrimp dinners. I spent over $15.00 on very nasty dry shrimp, cold chewy okra and dry hard rice even the rolls were hard and dry. We arrived a few minutes before six, the food was NOT fresh. We ordered my daughters wedding cake through Market Street. It was beautiful and was very moist. We had many compliments on the cake. The prices were well below other bakery prices for wedding cakes! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend Market street! read more
