This H-E-B is probably one of the best ones I have ever shopped as far as cleanliness, customer service, and product availability. It's located in the southern area of Lubbock, TX, which is growing like a West Texas weed - fast! I brought my ice packs and cooler just to shop here after a long pulmonology appointment for my daughter on February 17, 2026. I'm learning that the HEB brands are okay in most cases, but their chips and other items have bioengineered (genetically-modified) ingredients that are probably also in other items I buy, but it's disappointing... something to watch since there still isn't much information about the health risks. The staff members stay fairly busy so they don't go out of their way to assist folks, but our cashier was real friendly. The Texas section is one of my favorites. There are so many neat gifts for all my Texans. It has a gas station too. Happy shopping, y'all. read more

Love the delivery service!! But HEB brand foods... big fat no. Their food is awful! I recently bought a flatbread pizza made by HEB, the sauce was very sweet, unlike pizza sauce.....needless to say it went in the trash. Their soups are bland with zero flavor. Don't get me started on their Meal Simple line. I don't know who their in house chefs are but they all need fired. read more

Tasted fine. However, there was a large plastic insert that needed to be removed. Still couldn't remove it with heavy duty pliers. My strong 30-year-old son also couldn't get it out. I like the wide selection of food and products. What I did not like was you do not take 'tap' payment. The cashier told me I could come back to get my groceries after I got cash because they would be in the freezer, but when I came back, my whole cart was put away. I came back within the hour. The Mgr offer no resolution. I waste a 1.5 hr shopping, another going to get cash to buy from you because my roommate told me it would b worth it. Walmart from now on, at least they have walmart pay! We drove to Lubbock because groceries are just so much better and the meat choices and quality beat anything in Amarillo. My mom drove and it was her first experience with H‑E‑B. We at the bbq place inside and was not impressed. Our grocery experience was fine - but mom needed gas. So, we went to the H‑E‑B gas hub. It didn't work when mom put her card in - so we left. A month later a $50 charge showed up on my moms card. She called the Lubbock H‑E‑B gas hub and they said "oh this happens a lot - we have an issue sometimes - just called your credit card company." Mom calls credit card company. They start investigating it. But decline to reverse the charge. So mom calls the financial services department of H‑E‑B corporate and they want her to write a letter and PROVIDE A RECEIPT - like there was no receipt - there was no purchase because the pump would not work!!!! We won't be back to H‑E‑B ... if they want to rob the elderly - I will take my business elsewhere - especially since they know there is an issue with their pumps. You may not want to use their delivery option. They consistently forget items, and when you let them know, they say you have to wait 3 to 4 hours to have the items they forgot delivered. United is usually a better option for delivery. read more

Had an errand nearby and decided to try the much lauded BBQ at HEB. The place still looks new and clean, but to find a restroom you have to go to the checkout lanes. The prices seemed a little high, but that isn't unusual for a BBQ place. I ordered the two meat plate and received a sausage link and two thin slices of brisket - each of my sides were larger than both portions of meat together! Turns out you are paying a lot for small portions. The corn bread was ovebaked and dry. My sausage link had tougher, drier skin than a Sahara Desert guide. The brisket beans were different but okay. The potatoes salad is heavy on the mustard. My wife had the baked potato and said it was alright. My daughter had mac'n'cheese but said it was only okay. They must think that the "live music" experience is worth the excessive price. I should know better than to eat at a grocery store snack bar, no matter how much lipstick they put on the pig. read more

Since the store is so new, I'm starting my rating in the middle. I have rated each area I encountered below and included a detailed description at the end. Ratings mirror Yelp's overall ratings of 1-5 stars. Parking - 3 Sushi - 4 Breakfast Burritos - 2 (Salsa) - 4 Customer Service - 3 Prices - 3 I will update as I visit more. Dropped in today to pick up sushi for my daughter for lunch as well as a possible breakfast burrito. I've had the sushi from another H‑E‑B store before and both the sushi and poke bowls were delicious. First thing I noticed is the parking spaces are smaller than I'm used to. They are much larger at the other major grocery chain in town as well as the large box store across the street. This is problematic for me, but I drive a SUV. I entered the store and opted not to get a basket because I only needed to pick up a few things. Next, I noticed there were TONS of staff working. It was a little confusing knowing where to go for the breakfast burritos. They are ordered at the coffee bar. I finally found the ordering line, but it was moving slower than I needed it to, so I decided to move over to the sushi/poke bowl area to grab those items and come back. HOLY MOLY! They have a huge selection of items and they all looked fresh and delicious. I felt they were priced a smidge high, but I appreciated the $1 off coupons attached to all the selections. I grabbed a salmon poke original and a tropical combo pack for the sushi and headed back to the coffee/breakfast burrito ordering area. I didn't catch the name of my cashier, but my receipt says Thomas. I can't confirm that is who actually took and rang up my order because I can't remember the name on the nametag. However, there was a manager-type woman helping whose name was Sarah. It was my turn to order. I asked the cashier if I could add potatoes to the bacon, egg, and cheese burrito. Sarah answered on behalf of the cashier with a "No, they are premade." This was off-putting to me. I find it rude when other people answer questions that are clearly directed to someone other than the person answering the question. She was also quite curt in her response, but I moved along. The inability to change ingredient selections was a disappointment and will deter me from making this my morning grocery stop. I opted to go for the premade bacon, egg, and cheese burrito with red sauce. At that point, Sarah noticed I had 2 sushi items and asked me if I wanted to check out those items at that register. I asked her if I could. She said it's up to me. She responded with, "Since you only have these other two items, it's ok." Not the response I was expecting as it made me feel like I was breaking some sort of rules. I'm a customer who wants to spend money in your store. I don't understand why that requires rules on the number of items I can check out at the coffee bar. I understand if someone unloads a basket full of items for checkout, but again, I didn't have a basket. Once my burrito was bagged, I was asked if I wanted a receipt. I told the cashier I did and went on my way. The burrito was okay, not great, not terrible. It tasted, well, premade. I likely won't be ordering burritos in the future. Overall, it's too early to tell how this will go. I know staff are working many hours and may be tired, so I think it's important to have some grace in that area. I will update my review after a few more attempts. The store is huge and has a lot of selections. I am excited to discover new products and wish the store the very best in their opening. read more

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was checking out and the lady was rushing to scan the items and just throwing them to the side and my salads and dressings fell on the floor and she didnt even pick them up immediately, and i said my salads fell on the floor. She ignored me and im sure she heard me. You just dont throw items. The dressings busted and leaked in the bag. You dont get good meat deals unlike United. United Supermarket is still the best! Also, United Supermarket has the best customer service. We thought maybe coz HEB is new we would check it out, but nope, not coming back. Train your staff on GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. I today ordered crawfish from the front, that is cooked, to eat and enjoy on my day off to only come home to filthy crawfish that were never washed and possibly dead before cooking. I can't even enjoy them and eat them like this. Not sure if it's due to there being only one location in town, but this store seems to be out of a lot of things... a lot. I often have to stop at another store to get items that I would normally be able to find easily at any other store. I have also noticed that many parts of the store close early. Last visit, I walked up to the deli to get some sliced turkey. The guy was working cleaning a machine, looked at me and said "you should know that the deli is closed." I asked him when they closed, and it was a couple of minutes earlier. He could have easily helped me, but nope. As much as I loved H‑E‑B when we lived in Austin, I actually prefer the service at United. We have also used their online shopping a time or two. Again, we often have things that we ordered that do not get filled because they are out of stock. Website also does not show all of their products, which is rather annoying. They delivered items an hour late, aren't able to provide utensils, and don't provide necessary condiments for their food (in my situation, cream cheese for bagels). They also served no communication and wouldn't let me get the driver's contact to find out where they were when delivering to a large location. The pharmacy at the Lubbock H-E-B is excellent. I take a boxful of different meds due to a auto-immune disorder that has resulted in a permanent neuromuscular disease, and have no insurance and they sure as heck succeed in scouring Good Rx to provide a substantial money-saving coupon for me every single time. Since I self-pay, their help is indispensable to me. They all seem very competent and committed to good customer service. On the other hand, Market Street's policy (the practice at 19th and Quaker, at least) is that you must present a copy of a Good Rx coupon yourself, and only in-store, they won't normally handle a Good Rx transaction via drive-thru, but will make an exception, at least they did in my case after some persuasion. It was a pain to plead my case every time I picked up a prescription. Try H-E-B pharmacy, they're the best. read more

I love H‑E‑B. I love pretty much everything they sale, including their H‑E‑B brands of different items. When I lived in the hill country, the customer service at any given store was outstanding. Not in Lubbock. Just as Lubbock weather can be harsh, unforgiving and highly inconvenient, the LBB H-E-B team members are the same. They couldn't give a tiny rat's butt if you're satisfied or happy with your experience. I usually go early in the morning and have to deal with employees stocking shelves, getting pick-up orders ready, and their VERY unyielding floor cleaner. Most of the employee encounters I've had in this store are rude - expecting the customer to yield the right of way at all times without so much as an "excuse me". You'd think H‑E‑B would give in-store customers the courtesy of an easy shopping experience. I've had times where I couldn't get down an aisle due to employee carts or employees themselves blocking the way. I've had employees organizing pick-up orders literally run into my basket. I just had to ask an employee who was intent on his phone if I could get to the shelf he was blocking (yes, I'm annoyed enough that I'm writing this review IN THE STORE and yes - unlike H‑E‑B employees - I pulled my basket to the side to ensure I wasn't preventing anyone from grabbing what they needed). I make the effort to come in to your store, and I guarantee I could do some impulse-buying....if it weren't for your inconsiderate staff. I do have to say my check out guy today salvaged this experience - he was friendly and kind and focused on others. LBB H-E-B will benefit if they allow their customers to shop unhindered and treat them in a "we're-happy-to-have-you-here!!" kinda way. I know HEB's tagline is "Here Everything's Better". Had the most worst experience checking out!! Had 2 separate transactions and went through self checkout, well the cashier came over and said I have to suspend your transaction. I asked her why and she said very rudely that there was a line behind me and I could checkout there. Before I could even explain, she suspended my 2 items and walked off. I turned to see where she was going and when I looked, no one was even in line! I grabbed my 6 items and proceeded to another register, I had to walk to the other side of the store where the lines were long! When I finally got to a register I asked to speak to a manager. Why does the drive thru pharmacy process take so long?? It's always faster to hassle with parking and going in. Drive thru is supposed to be faster/more convenient and it is neither. To expedite the process- why don't you have the payment box available when I arrive so I can send you the method of payment and ID first.
