I have not been to Nordstrom Cafe since Obama was in presidency so was pleasantly surprised by all the changes that has been made since then. The new cafe is lighter, brighter, and more modern (they even have ordering kiosks outside the restaurant). Service is still super friendly and love that they still give the chocolate mints at the end of the meal. My daughter and I stopped in for a quick lunch and I was surprised by how big the kid portions were. Her chicken alfredo pasta was truly and adult sized meal (and the leftovers made a great snack while I watched Ginny and Georgia at midnight later that evening). A hidden gem! Every time I come here, I am amazed how good the food is. They have fresh salads, sandwiches quick bites, etc. Their staff is super friendly and never overbearing. It's a quiet little spot tucked inside Nordstrom, but sooo good. All their food is delicious. My favorites are the Santa Fe sandwich and the Cajun chicken on top of the salads. The best! Restaurant quality in a shopping mall. I've been coming to this café since Nordstrom first opened. They recently renovated it within the last year or so. They now even offer alcoholic beverages. I ate lunch there today. Ordered the bruschetta, tomato, and burrata appetizer. Also ordered the salmon nicoise salad. It had string beans, calamata olives, red onions, capers, boiled eggs, and WILD salmon. Both items were excellent. Service is also very good. You order yourself, but after that, you're treated like it's a regular restaurant. I purchased a drink and made my own Arnold Palmer. Was able to get a go-cup too. Can't recommend this cafe enough. I like this cafe so much that I am thinking of going for dinner because I can even get a cocktail if I like. My only complaint is about the restrooms. No hot or warm water. Absolutely frigid water to wash one's hands. Not very hygienic because it is too cold keep rinsing. read more

After shopping I remembered the cafe in Nordstrom and popped in for lunch. I sat at the bar and the bartender / server immediately greeted me and was spectacular throughout my time there. For some reason I recalled the menu being larger than what it actually was but I finally decided and of course went w the tomato basil soup and a salmon ceasar salad. The soup is always a 10 but the salad was overdressed and the salmon was flavorless. If I do pop in again in the future I'll keep it simple and stick with the soup. read more

I have always been curious about the food here, so we stopped by. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Panini. It was really good, it had avocado and caramelized onions on it. My lovely companion, my daughter ordered the double beef burger. She said it was an ok burger, nothing special. Our server was very helpful and attentive. There's a TV, Happy Hour and tables. There is only one other Cafe with full bar in NYC. The menu includes a great list of alcoholic and non- alcoholic choices to enjoy with your snack or meal. Entry is from the luggage area on the first floor or the mall. One suggestion would be to add frosted panels adjacent to the Department store merchandise. The service is always wonderful at a Nordstrom marketplace cafe. Food is never inedible, but both our pasta dishes were so overcooked, we were eating soggy fall apart pasta. Again, taste was good, everything else good. Whoever is cooking the pasta needs to remove it way way earlier. Also, looks like they renovated the entry area of the cafe - much more modern, light and airy. Food and service are usually impeccable. We especially love the salads and margherita pizza (not a fan of the pepperoni pizza as it's a bit salty). We recently had a bad experience with one of their servers who was on his phone, drinking soda, laughing it up and never once checked on us, gave us bread, or do anything except watch the clock. In spite of his horrific service, we'll return as the food and service is usually amazing. I must say we are big fans of the Nordstrom Marketplace Cafe. In general everything we've eaten has been top notch. Fresh, tasty, high quality ingredients and friendly service by the wait staff. We've enjoyed our staple dishes many times over and continue to go back- Grilled shrimp and arugula salad Turkey & Avocado sandwich Clam Chowder soup She Crab soup Pan Seared Chicken Penne Pomodoro Burger That said it isn't a cheap meal and prices have got even higher post pandemic. For example, the Turkey sandwich and a bowl of Clam Chowder will cost you $28.50 not including tax and tip. Wow. As good as the turkey sandwich is (I must find out how they toast the bread perfectly) it is pricey for the size at $18.50. All things considered I'm sure we'll be back... read more

I came here again recently, and I would say they have stayed pretty consistent since I last reviewed. The outside of the restaurant looked different though, as it looks like it was renovated since I had last come here. It was opened up more near the entrance, with seating spilling out into Nordstrom. The ordering system has stayed the same: You order at the front of the restaurant, and then pick your seating after ordering and paying. The prices are still pretty high, and it is fairly expensive for what you are getting. The food comes out fast, and is delicious. Their bread rolls are consistently very good. This time around, the bread came with this cheese spread, which was different, as it usually just comes with butter. But I liked the addition of the spread. For my entree, I got the salmon entree with couscous, which was solid. I like it because it feels pretty healthy, but it tastes good. I think the salmon is wild caught, which is a plus for me, and the couscous is really tasty. The service was just okay, and he didn't check up on us very often. Overall, a good experience. I am glad that the restaurant hasn't changed too much in regards to quality. read more

After 3 stellar visits, we have been totally won over by the Marketplace Cafe at Nordstrom-Tysons Corner Center for its outstanding quality of food (homemade pastas, wild salmon and Pacific shrimp, organic berries) executed consistently with harmony by Chef Antonio Harris, exceptional service led by Manuel as well as understated but inviting ambiance of natural light, quality furniture, and fresh air (spacious, too)! On our 3 visits, we ordered the following: SPICY SHRIMP POMODORO PASTA (Chitarra twice, Spaghetti once) w/ GRAPE TOMATOES, PARMESAN, BABY SPINACH + Flavorful and comfort food (for us) with a classy touch, this dish was so outstanding that we ordered it on ALL 3 VISITS! The shrimp and pasta were at optimal doneness, the tomato sauce at ideal saltiness, and the overall composition a delight for the taste buds and eyes as well! Another detail is with the sticks of butter that comes with the bread: they are tempered to be easily spreadable without having to be whipped (we prefer our butter not whipped)! All in all, Marketplace Cafe is a diamond in a hidden alleyway in that it is polished and quality without any roughness but happens to be overlooked. Having experienced and enjoy dining a wide variety of price points, cuisines, and locales, we are so happy to return to an old culinary friend that has grown up and excelled in the essential qualities of food, service, and ambiance without having to necessarily scale up into the fine dining realm. Tyson's Nordstrom cafe was thoroughly disappointing today. We had to wait nearly an hour and my foods was wilted and the fish was cold. The manager cancelled the bill but, it was quite unpleasant. The waitress did return several times to tell us they were back up in the kitchen but we noticed another couple eating before us and they were behind us in line. They must have some really good chefs back in the kitchen who truly care about the quality of the food because each time we've been here, the food quality was amazing. I also forgot my hydroflask water bottle here once and the server held on to it for us then as we were leaving nordstrom he grabbed our attention and guided us back to the restaurant to retrieve the expensive water bottle. I've had the best salads here ever (and I don't even like salads...). I highly recommend the shrimp and arugula with sweet corn and the lime cilantro with steak...both are very tasty, to the last yummy bite... I like the relaxed ambience and attentive service here, as well. The only slight drawback is that the restrooms are located a bit of distance outside the cafe (but still in the store..). WHOA (tried for first time)...my favorite restaurant by a mile within both Tysons 1 and 2 Malls. Shocking how fresh and delicious the food is in this hidden nook inside the Tyson's 1 Nordstrom (from now on this is the only place I would want to eat here). I got the Spicy Wild Shrimp Pomodoro and it was freakin awesome (flavorful shrimp, cherry tomatoes, pasta, and sauce), cup of homemade tasting tomato soup (I let the cheesy bread soften inside and ate together with spoon), and lemon ricotta cookie for dessert (latter is the only item that didn't blow me away). Service was prompt and friendly (you order at the front register, seat yourself at a table and put your receipt on top, and then they bring your food directly to you as well as clean up afterwards). My go to place when I want a good basil soup or a fresh salad. The service is friendly and great. They offer bread free of charge and almost always give out mint chocolate at the end. I leave a tip to whoever does that to a chocoholic like me. I have tried the basil soup, chicken cilantro salad and creme brûlée all of which have been fresh and delicious. Will update with photos and another perk is that you can use your gift card at this place so double points for that! They did forget to give me a receipt one time and since they couldn't pull it up, they offered me a free dessert. Will visit again! read more

Still an absolute favorite when I am anywhere near Tysons! The cafeteria area has been adjusted for COVID protocols so every other booth is blocked off. The buffet has been closed down and the menu is available via code at entrance of the place. Absolutely love the food! Even the burger paddy quality is great. read more

Okay I cannot speak highly enough about Nordstrom Cafe. My family and I are long-time Nordstrom shoppers (specifically at Tysons Corner) and the day we found out there was a restaurant/cafe inside the store was a total game-changer. When we are shopping at Tysons and want to grab a bite to eat, we often think of Nordstrom Cafe before any food court/most sit down establishments in the mall. The cafe offers a sit-down/finer establishment decor with the ease and speed of a faster dining restaurant. A few notable dishes to get when eating here include: the Roma Tomato Basil Soup, Turkey & Swiss Panini, Penne Bolognese, and the Fresh Berry and Fig Salad. The restaurant also has great desserts to try that are on display in the front of the restaurant. Once you have placed your order and paid at the front, a waiter/waitress will grab your order/number from you at your table and will make sure your food comes to the right place. Special tip -- ask for bread if you're craving a little pre meal snack; their rolls are heavenly. All in all I would definitely recommend stopping at Nordstrom Cafe next time you're craving a change of pace from the regular mall food court/go-to sit-down restaurants. read more

I never thought to eat at this cafe but tried it for dinner. The tomato soup was good. Average to me, fantastic to my friend. The winner here was the salad. Big ol' chunks of pear, awesome dried cherries, candied walnuts, blue cheese crumbles...this place took into account flavor, texture, and plating. Props to the salad guy for the flare he had while making it too. Haha. Though you go through the line to get the stuff, someone comes and takes your tray. I like that. This last visit we tried and thoroughly enjoyed their Turkey Club Panini Sandwich with bacon, white cheddar, tomato, garlic aioli in country bread; and the really terrific Prosciutto & Mozzarella Caprese Sandwich with arugula, basil, tomato pesto, balsamic glaze on ciabatta bread. Unknowingly arriving to the mall during a blackout, my sister and I were hungry and upset. After talking to some employees waiting outside there shops, we received word that Nordstrom was the only store with power. And there it was, the hidden gem of Tyson's. Being the only open store, it was understandably packed but the lines seemed to go through quickly. They display their menu items behind a glass so you can see what it looks like if you order it and everything it comes with. You can also see the cooks make the food right in front of you. Everything looked so good! The food took about 7 minutes to arrive despite being so busy and we still managed to find seats because the place is so big. I had the Chinese Chicken Salad. The flavor was great. They do not skimp on the dressing or salad toppings. If you like your dressing on the heavy side than this salad is perfect for you. Personally I will ask the cooks to go light on the dressing the next time I decide to dine here (yes I will be back). The decor was surprisingly nice as well. Great experience. read more

I love Nordstrom, it is one of my favorite one stop shops! Get some clothes and food all in one. The cafe is really convenient for shoppers. We went during lunchtime so as expected, it is kind of slow. The have a variety of foods from salads to pizza to pastas. Their desserts also looked really appetizing. You order what you want and then they give you a number. Someone comes by your table and takes your yellow paper. Then someone else brings your actual food. There is not one specific waiter to your table - all of the employees are super kind and are willing to help you. My sister and I shared the mushroom and pepperoni pizza and the penne bolognese. Both were really good. The penne bolognese has spicy italian sausage in it as well as the sauce was just so good. Portion for this pasta is smaller than I would like but, oh well. Still good. The mushroom and pepperoni pizza has a lot of toppings as well, thankfully though for the price of $11 for a personal pizza hm. I would not expect anything less than wonderful from Nordstrom. read more
