Long-time customer here (4-5 years), which is why this experience was so disappointing. Earlier this year, my account received a credit for boarding services because my girlfriend was working for the company. That credit remained on the account and was later used toward additional services. Recently, I scheduled a $300+ vet appointment expecting to use the remaining credit. Only after those services were completed was I informed that the remaining credit balance had been removed due to an internal employee discount eligibility issue tied to my girlfriend's former employment. The issue isn't the policy--it's how it was handled. The credit was applied, left on the account, and then reversed after services were already rendered, without any prior notice. I relied on the balance when scheduling services and was unexpectedly charged out of pocket. I made multiple attempts to resolve this directly, including requesting that it be reviewed by the owner. Despite that, the decision was upheld at the owner level though I did not receive a direct response. All responses continued to come through management. Early in my dispute, I had a phone conversation with Kelly, during which she stated that they "didn't feel [they] needed to give the courtesy of notice" because my girlfriend "didn't have the courtesy to give notice" when leaving her role. When I said "that's between you and my girlfriend", Kelly replied, "Actually, that's between you and your girlfriend". That interaction was concerning, especially given that this situation affected me as a long-time customer. It was particularly concerning that a customer account was affected based on an internal employment-related issue. Unfortunately, this has made it difficult to trust their handling and communication of billing practices going forward, and I am already taking my business elsewhere. I couldn't give 1 star since the vets are actually really great as is the front desk staff. I just cannot continue to support a business with such a management style. read more

The reason for our visit was one that no pet owner ever looks forward to but they took such great care in making sure our baby passed peacefully and we were by her side. I will start with this ... the vet was great with my The place is beautiful but I really didn't like dealing with the front desk. Both girls were on the phone for so long that I almost walked out. There was no .. smile, finger up indicating it would be a second... people in front of you should ALWAYS come first. Again, I enjoyed the vet. The vet tech was eh.... She was driving me nuts asking us the same question over and over again, I had to get a little firm with her ... to get her moving. Kind of bummed because it's blocks from our home but I don't know if this will be our place for our girl. We had to go in a second time and same experience with the front desk. We have used the grooming and vet services at Marketside on the recommendation of friends. Our elderly dog was very difficult to groom and the staff in grooming were very patient with him. We had a couple of emergency issues with him and they were quick to fit us in and treat him. Sadly, we reached the day when he was blind, deaf and had dementia and very little quality of life. They got us in within a few hours and did so much to make it as easy as possible on our puppy boy and on us. They encouraged us to take our time to say goodbye, even having a pet snack basket with treats like Hershey's kisses and marshmallows. It was peaceful and quick as we stroked him until he was gone. The vet stayed to answer any questions and comfort us. A week later, they called to let us know his ashes were in for us to pickup. Everything was so nicely done. Yesterday, we got a sympathy card from them, signed by everyone in the clinic. I am so happy we chose them. read more

Quoted almost $500 for stitches and other services for an injury that occurred under Marketside's care. They refused to acknowledge their responsibility in the matter. First time taking both of my golden doodles here for grooming as our groomer for the past 4 years left on a medical leave. Terrible customer service, I tried to communicate to the "Groomer" what I wanted done on my oldest golden doodle but she seem confused as she didn't know what a puppy cut is. For the second golden doodle he just need to be shaved. I picked them up 3 hours later only to be charged $80 for one and $110 for my second dog. That is outrages. I've been around to several groomers and I have no once been charge this much. They are charging anywhere from $20 to $50 dollars more per dog then other places. My total was $190 not including tip. My total did not include teeth brushing, ear cleaning, or a face mask like I typically get elsewhere. After paying my dogs we're brought out and my dogs hair cut looked terrible. It looked like she had no experience cutting dogs hair. Typically after visiting the groomers the dogs have beautiful blows out that makes them soft and fluffy for days not this visit. They don't smell good either and my poor dog has several spots where they cause abrasions to his skin. Mediocre work! Do not come here. Unfortunately, they could have had a frequent customer every six weeks since we only leave 1 minute away. Yes, I do understand the work that goes into grooming dogs. But not okay with paying this much for such a terrible service. Not once did I see the groomer let my dogs like other groomers do. read more

I don't think I have ever had such horrible customer service. To the MAH team, if your job sucks so much that you treat customers like garbage than quit. There are lots of other jobs out there for you. To the owner of MAH, you need to re-evaluate your training and review the connections that your team is having with customers. I would rather let my pet be ill or leave them home alone than have them be treated there or boarded there. Looking at the reviews...I am not the only one that feels that way. Unfortunately, they are not in the best interest of the clients. I watched as the receptionist placed someone on hold . Informing the caller she was checking on appointment availability. She did no such thing instead she thumbed through "Social Media" then returned to the call. Staff is sarcastic and caustic with little to no professionalism. I will not be returning to this clinic due to witnesses this behavior coupled with the long wait times for appointments. My pup has a skin issue that needs attention next appointment was 22 days away. They're rude and will completely dismiss your concerns. Let me first say the vet is fine here, but the customer service and ability to see your animal when you need them is terrible. It's not cheap and I would expect better customer service for the prices. When your dog is sick, three weeks out is not conducive to keeping your animal healthy. Our puppy has been seen by Marketside for over a year and a half. We have loved Marketside and how they treated our pup. On Monday the 14th he went in there for a heartworm appointment, however there was a system glitch, and he wasn't due for one. Instead, I asked them to express is anal glands, since the last time the groomer did it, he got an infection. Over this past week, our puppy has been scooting his butt and licking his butt as if he has an infection again. He has been on antibiotics before, so we figured since it seems as though it was the same issue we could call and request more antibiotics. Not mad, just wanting to get our dog treated. The lady told us that we needed an appointment, and it would be $55 for the exam before we can get the antibiotics. At this point I was a bit frustrated because there is a big possibility that they could have caused the infection, yet I have to pay for an exam. When I brought this up, we were immediately met with us needing to deal with Michelle the case manager. We were so confused as to why this escalated so quickly. We called back after talking to just pay the $55 exam fee since our dog needed to get treatment. We were immediately turned away and told we are unable to schedule any appointments until we speak with Michelle. My husband of course got upset and hung up on them because we just want to get our dog treated. I called back attempting to reason with them and apologize for the frustration of the last phone call and I was then told I cannot do anything, they will not speak with us, and they will not book any future appointments until we speak with Michelle, at which point I was hung up on before I could even say another word. We have never been treated this way by them, we have always referred people to them, and they have always been so good with our dog. I am unsure why it got to this point. We are not mad that they may have caused an anal infection, it happens. We just want to get him treated. We are very sad at how this all played out and will be moving our dog to a new vet. read more

SO DISAPPOINTED in this clinic. When I called to schedule appointment for our new puppy I was NEVER informed I would would not be allowed inside the clinic. The receptionist informed me I should have received a text message explaining the "curbside check-in" (which I didn't). She explained that they had "several" staff tested positive for COVID. Yet, this same tech played with her mask before I handed her my dog. To make matters worse, what I communicated to her was not properly communicated to doctor, so he misdiagnosed and dispensed a prescription that I refused. This is the middle of September, if they can't get a COVID protocol in place by now I really distrust everything about this practice! read more

We put our 2 doodles in the kennel for the weekend! It was horrible. I packed our dogs all of their food, snacks ect. When we picked them up our dogs had lost weight and over HALF OF THE FOOD came back. I do not believe our dogs were fed or paid ANY ATTENTION to. The veterinarian was not personable and had no real bedside manner with my puppy, mostly he just seemed annoyed. The techs did come outside quickly to greet us, but were not accommodating, or very helpful, not to mention they almost forgot the initial request to file our puppy's claws and later said they would do it, "If they had time to get around to it". The techs told us our puppy was "so dramatic" and "screamed the whole time!" Well it might have had something to do with the fact that they cut into her footpad! We have always taken our animals to North Buckeye Animal Hospital for the amazing Vets and loving atmosphere. We just wanted to try this newly opened office, but clearly we will stick with our tried and true experience from now on. read more

Picked up my two pups, Sookie and Sugarbear today from the groomer. The price was reasonable and the dogs looked great. The staff is very nice and careful with my precious babies. So nice to have this right here in Verrado. Can't say enough about it Also my son took his little gizmo here for a procedure that needed quick attention. The vet and staff are marvelous. I took my very sick chihuahua to this vet a year ago. Repeat appts because of diabetes. Spent lots of lots of money on meds and checkups. My dog has done fine, but yesterday crashed and gave up to die. I wanted to get her in as this vet is closest to my home. Of course I ended up going to Blue Pearl Avondale Emergency 24 hour hospital (which is a whole other story). My baby survived the day...and the night...and the BPA Vet said to call Marketplace and ask for an emergency check in a few days from the diagnosing vet of her diabetes. Well....I tried. I find it amazing that they had no doctor at all yesterday....and was told that I would have to wait for a month to get my dog in for urgent, emergency check up. My dog would be dead if I waited on this clinic. They like to charge you high prices....then they forget you and your pet. The front desk staff is the most rude uncaring people I have ever dealt with. You can tell it is all about the money when you walk through their door. I had the money....but they did not care that my baby was in need of urgent care. I WILL NOT go back there...and I would give you a word of advise and try to seek out a caring compassionate vet for your pet. They are hard to find...but the Arizona Animal Hospital in Surprise is the best I have found. Only thing is it is about a 200 mile round trip for me. But I will not go back to Marketplace....they made their thousands off of me...and then they were done. Did not care about my babies in the least. I will not go back. I asked for them to mail me my vet records and to close my shit out. They girl became a professional bitch at that point. How do I say this while being politely correct.....it's hard. I wish I had checked the rating of this vet office before taking my dog to them. I took my dog in to have a growth on her leg evaluated. She first saw a polite and helpful young man who gathered info, etc. After an extended wait, about 20 minutes or so, Dr. Osuk looked at her and recommended the removal of the growth and felt a X-ray of her lungs was needed to see if, in the case of cancer in the growth, that it had not spread to other organs. I felt this was not needed, but she is the vet so I went along with that. The young man, a PA I assume, took her from the room and after another 30 to 45 minutes Dr. Osuk came in and, after having trouble with bringing up the xrays, blaming the computer for the problem, she showed me the X-rays and said everything looked good. No cancer in the lungs. I left the dog to have the growth removed. I picked my dog up with the instructions sheet and bills. I think this place is a little high on service fees, but so be it. The dog had a cone on when she was brought out. I As I started to leave with my dog a person rushed out and said I needed to wait, they had not taken the stent (or whatever it was called) out which was where they had given her the anestetic. The dog was taken into the back again and was brought back out a short time later for me to take her home. Another negative, really, forgot part of the procedure? Having followed all the directions both verbal and on the information sheet the wound opened up after about four days. I called and they said to bring her right in. The front staff has no idea about customer relations and handling the public. The receptionist was very rude and short with me (the heavy set one, I failed to note her name) insisting I was there for an emergency appointment and it was 85 dollars just to have her looked at. I told her I felt this was not what I would call and emergency visit as they had done the procedure and told me to come in. She then went to the back area. Again a PA came out and looked at the surgical site and said it needs to be closed. I assured her we had followed all the direction and would not pay the additional cost and said she would take the dog back and walked with the dog into the back. When she came out someone had put numerous staples on the site instead of stitches. This was not the end of the whole thing as the staples gave way about two days later. I had to go back in and this time had another very high bill for the stitches to be redone. They said she would be ready about 5 o'clock. At 5:30 I had not received a call and called them. The receptionist told me that she had been ready since 5 o'clock and I could pick her up. I arrived and after paying the bill was taken into a small office and told to wait. Dr. Osuk came in about 10 minutes later and discussed the situation. I advised I was unhappy with the service to both my dog and me. She, Dr. Osuk, said I had been rude to her front staff and she would not tolerate it. She had a folder and gave it to me saying it was my dogs records and I was not welcome to return to their facility. I advised her that was not a problem and it had been a mistake to have came to her in the first place. She tossed my dogs records on the counter and walked from the room. I left with my dog and returned home, having now bought a kennel for her to stay in during the recovery. About 6:30 I got a call from their office and told I needed to return because they had forgotten to, again, remove the device were the anestetic had been administered. I told the person, I was ordered from the facility and would not be returning. He asked if he could come to my residence and remove it. I was okay with that. He arrived and was apologetic and polite. He removed the device and left. I obviously would not recommend this place or Dr. Osuk for your pet needs. read more

I am devastated to report that my French Bulldog Otto died at home towards the end of June. I was in so much shock and grief I could barely move, plus I had just finished dialysis. I called Marketside Animal Hospital and Becca had answered the phone, crying I explained what had happened. Becca and Danielle rushed to my apartment to get Otto and console me. That same week I received the nicest card from Dr. Dustin and the rest of his office staff offering condolence for Otto's passing. I take great comfort in knowing Otto is in Heaven. Horrible response timing by the entire staff, and the vet was of no help at all!!! We have a puppy mini doodle that woke up one morning vomiting, and of course we were concerned. So we contacted them and they said to bring her in so that we can monitor her. Hours go by and no call back. We go to pick her up with no answers, and was told that she was fine. Immediately once we got home she drank water and threw up again! When we called back they suggested to do X-rays and other types of treatment not relating to the issue. So we take her back to do x rays assuming our pup had swallowed a toy or something else. X-rays show nothing and the vets exact words when we expressed our concern of not knowing what was going on.... I wish I knew as well. Long story short we took her to another vet and immediately find out she's positive for parvovirus! We had her vaccinated supposedly at market side animal hospital just a few months before. We can not trust them with our pets again. We almost lost our sweet Lil Angel . read more
