my son's have had haircuts from this barber shop numerous times. I called and requested the owner contact me back regarding the quality and the remedial skills of the person cutting the childrens hair. The edge ups are always crooked. There is no use of any fading technique. It appears that there is one setting on the clippers and there is no transition. Eachtime the youngest has a part this barber will make it jagged and crooked. They kids hair actually appears as though a beginner has butchered them. I wanted to send photos to the manager so that the person can see the results of their work compared to another barber that fixes the mistakes. It would actually help this shop improve their skills. Or also they can simply let the kids father know that they're unable to give them good cuts and suggest another skilled person. When I called whomever hung up on me, as I was not rude or harsh. I just need to understand how no one there can see that the workmanship is below beginner level. read more

Not Happy with my experience today ! I came in at around 6.30pm on 4/10/2018. The lady asked me if I was ready. She was unprofessional and very rude. I had glasses and she did not let me leave them on her counter top so I kept them on my laps but they could fall anytime. That was very odd ! The lady was very unfriendly. If she did not want to work, she should have stayed home. I had feedback about my haircut but she was getting annoyed. She did not want to texturized the front hair. I asked her 3 times ... It should have taken her 1 minute. I am not pleased with my haircut and on top of that she expedited me in less than 10 minutes when not a single customer was even waiting in line. This is completely ridiculous. The full experience was a joke. I am not pleased at all. I left the shop and told the owner I was not happy and left ! It was the 3rd time I came in at Mark's Barber Shop and the first 2 times was great. I had a hair cut with a young lady (first on the left when you get in) who was very nice and professional. The second time I got a hair cut with Mark the owner, very nice and friendly. The haircut was great and he took his time. if you read this Mark, I came 4 weeks ago and I live by the Riverfront in Wilmington, DE. However It doesn't seem you can choose who can cut your hair. It is pretty much first come first serve. This time, sorry Mark but you should have noticed something was very wrong and my experience today deserved 1 star ! read more

Nice neighborhood shop, very friendly staff. They offer a military/police/fire discount, which is an added bonus. Most of the guys have been there years, and they offer hours that go above and beyond. Open til 8 on Tuesday and open on Wed at 0600, this def helps to get around the hectic work schedule. They also do a hot towel and razor shave in the haircut, leaving you that extra close cut and comfort at the end. My go to spot for sure! Thanks guys! read more

Moving to a new area creates stress...a new doctor, a new mechanic, a new BARBER!! I finally found a home at Mark's. I went in this morning for a haircut and a beard trim. Jess did an incredible job. The detailed beard trim was unlike any I've had before. The prices are more than reasonable, the shop is clean, conveniently located, and they have a big-screen television and some snack machines if you have to wait. This is old-school barbering at it's finest and I'm now gonna be a regular here. Very friendly barber shop that gives a great cut. They take your time with the cut, unlike the five minute/10 dollar cuts you could get at SuperCuts. They do take a while, but once you see your hair, you won't regret it. They have a flat rate of $17, whether you get your beard trimmed or not. They only accept cash, which is annoying, but you have to take the good with the bad. They also have inexpensive soda and snacks while you're waiting. I have to give this shop 5 stars because it is a very clean shop, the barbers are very good for the most part, but some are better than others. I recently changed the way I wanted my hair cut and Mark happened to do it. He did a great job. The next time a different barber cut my hair and did not do a good job at all. Consequently, I called to get an appointment with Mark for my next haircut. Whoever answered the phone told me that "it is walk-in only". The web site clearly says that walk-ins are welcome. To me, that means they take appointments. Further the web site gives a price for after hours appointments. If I cannot choose the barber that I prefer, then I will go elsewhere. Maybe Mark would like to clarify this policy? read more

Mark is a person who is a real down to earth owner. I have had many conversations with him and his staff durring haircuts over the years. I took my nephew for his first haircut, and Mark treated him like a king, The board across the arms of the old barber chair, and making him feel like he mattered and his opioniom mattered. After he got his first haircut from Mark he could not stop talking about it! I have found over the years he only hires good fit candidates, he only keeps the ones that truely show his shop as a high class establishment that I am proud to be a frequent customer of.
