We made wait list reservations for opening time two Sundays ago. We were meeting my son & his girlfriend who were driving from Bowling Green to meet up. Plenty of parking availability as it's in a strip mall. It took quite awhile to be seated even with the wait list spot but you do see a countdown which was helpful. Our waitress arrived and promptly took our drink orders. My husband asked about the two donut appetizers and decided since two donuts came with each, to order two sets of the blueberry with blueberry compote and one of the churro donuts with caramel glaze. Well, eventually our drinks came. A good 15 minutes and nothing. We asked our waitress about the appetizer & that we wanted it out well before the meals. She replied that "it might be, we just don't know!". No offer to go check or anything. The next minute, here comes a random staff member with three of our four meals. Mine was missing & no explanation. Waitress reappears and asks how the meals are, we note I don't have mine, & also we never got the ordered donuts to share. So as we sit waiting on my food, I implore the family to please go ahead and start eating without me. Here come the donuts, with no room on the table for them, & now small plates to share on with the cup of compote and cup of caramel. We asked 3 different staff members for a couple small plates. Each agreed to bring some. Never did. Our waitress reappeared after a long stretch & my husband insisted she take the donuts and take them off our bill since they arrived after 3 of our four meals. I did eventually get my meal, the rest of my family was halfway through theirs. Nothing was spectacular, pretty basic breakfast items but above even the pricepoint in most items at Wild Eggs in Louisville. My son liked the chicken & waffle but he liked that dish anywhere really. As if the poor service and awful timing on food prep & table delivery weren't bad enough, when we got to our vehicle I asked my husband if they'd for sure taken the donuts off. He said "good question because the bill was over $100!" . He looked and that had been taken off but the waitress had charged my husband's meal as individually priced a la cart items! Though he had ordered those items as a meal on the menu. He didn't want to go back in and deal with it so we left just knowing we will not recommend this place to anyone, nor will we return. read more

The toasted yolk cafe is a local franchise breakfast place in Radcliffe,KY. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff and quick service. I had one of the favorites, an eggs benedict, it was great the eggs were perfect and the sausage crumble really good. We had a cup of coffee that was served in a nice custom branded mug. The inside has plenty of room for parties of all sizes, in comfortable clean chairs and booths. They have a very nice breakfast type beverage area that looks like a bar for the mimosa fans out there. A pretty good breakfast place that can get full on weekends so keep that in mind when planning your meal. A bit pricey but overall good food. I wasn't impressed with this breakfast place. The food was pretty bland and nothing really stood out. A couple things didn't even seem that fresh. The vibe wasn't great either just kind of dull and not somewhere you want to hang around. Overall the whole experience felt pretty underwhelming. Walking in it's a cute place, decorated nicely. The staff was very friendly, they were busy but able to seat our table of 6 within 5min. There is a really nice variety of foods from traditional breakfast, to different dishes we had never seen before. Some tried traditional, like pancakes that were just huge! Welcome to Etown, Toasted Yolk! We are so happy to have you! Etown was WAY overdue for a brunchy breakfast spot, and Toasted Yolk is fitting in perfectly. I came here with my husband and we treated my mother in law to some breakfast. My husband's 10 year old cousin vehemently recommended the blueberry donuts, but we opted towards something a little more protein packed. I chose the Cowboy Scramble and I was really happy with it! My husband got the Southwestern Arnold. I got to try it, and it was pretty tasty but I wish the eggs were proper poached. My MIL got an omelette that she was also happy with. The staff was super accommodating, as my MIL had to head out early and she was able to get her food first, so we're very grateful for that. The interior is fun and inviting. Ok - so there is nothing wrong with The Toasted Yolk, but I do have to say the the food all looked bland and tasted ok. Nothing special. Our server was excellent though. A couple things: I hate cloth napkins, especially black ones! Ha ha. The floor was super slippery, especially in the bathroom, and the sink was super wet, so be careful!!! The silverware we received was dirty (see picture), the syrup was very runny, and the bacon was very chewy. I also realized after we already left that my husband was missing his hash brown casserole. So, if you go, be careful walking and make sure you get what you order.... You may be paying for items you don't get and leave hungry!!! read more

I absolutely LOVE The Toasted Yolk. It's definitely one of the highlights for Elizabethtown. It's so rare to find a great brunch place anymore. The inside is very clean and super pretty. Great art and stylish colors. The food is nothing less of superb. The service is excellent and the staff are always smiling and friendly. The only complaint I have, is for how long it takes to get a drink other than a fountain drink. If it's something that has to be made at the bar, you could wait upwards of 10 minutes for that drink. A trifecta of terrible: bad service, bad food and bad atmosphere! The hostess greeted me as if I had just killed one of her many cats, eyes rolling like an alligator with a gazelle in its mouth. The waitress took over 10 minutes to identify that me - a 6' tall, 300lb man - sitting in the middle table of her stations. Wait staff visited the table next to me FOUR TIMES before I was even asked for my drink order. Ordering the Eggs Benedict, they arrived without much delay, which is surprising considering the yolks were hard boiled (versus the runny yolks of a poached egg). The entire meal was bereft of any seasoning, and looked just Sad...The Cafe had all of the ambiance of a bad mix tape plated in a Turkish bazaar, with Country, Top 40, Classic Rock and 50's Do Wop screaming at "eleven".
