Welcome to Etown, Toasted Yolk! We are so happy to have you! Etown was WAY overdue for a brunchy breakfast spot, and Toasted Yolk is fitting in perfectly. I came here with my husband and we treated my mother in law to some breakfast. My husband's 10 year old cousin vehemently recommended the blueberry donuts, but we opted towards something a little more protein packed. I chose the Cowboy Scramble and I was really happy with it! My husband got the Southwestern Arnold. I got to try it, and it was pretty tasty but I wish the eggs were proper poached. My MIL got an omelette that she was also happy with. The staff was super accommodating, as my MIL had to head out early and she was able to get her food first, so we're very grateful for that. The interior is fun and inviting. Ok - so there is nothing wrong with The Toasted Yolk, but I do have to say the the food all looked bland and tasted ok. Nothing special. Our server was excellent though. A couple things: I hate cloth napkins, especially black ones! Ha ha. The floor was super slippery, especially in the bathroom, and the sink was super wet, so be careful!!! The silverware we received was dirty (see picture), the syrup was very runny, and the bacon was very chewy. I also realized after we already left that my husband was missing his hash brown casserole. So, if you go, be careful walking and make sure you get what you order.... You may be paying for items you don't get and leave hungry!!! read more

I absolutely LOVE The Toasted Yolk. It's definitely one of the highlights for Elizabethtown. It's so rare to find a great brunch place anymore. The inside is very clean and super pretty. Great art and stylish colors. The food is nothing less of superb. The service is excellent and the staff are always smiling and friendly. The only complaint I have, is for how long it takes to get a drink other than a fountain drink. If it's something that has to be made at the bar, you could wait upwards of 10 minutes for that drink. A trifecta of terrible: bad service, bad food and bad atmosphere! The hostess greeted me as if I had just killed one of her many cats, eyes rolling like an alligator with a gazelle in its mouth. The waitress took over 10 minutes to identify that me - a 6' tall, 300lb man - sitting in the middle table of her stations. Wait staff visited the table next to me FOUR TIMES before I was even asked for my drink order. Ordering the Eggs Benedict, they arrived without much delay, which is surprising considering the yolks were hard boiled (versus the runny yolks of a poached egg). The entire meal was bereft of any seasoning, and looked just Sad...The Cafe had all of the ambiance of a bad mix tape plated in a Turkish bazaar, with Country, Top 40, Classic Rock and 50's Do Wop screaming at "eleven". Bright, inviting, fresh The Toasted Yolk Cafe is a great take on breakfast and I would imagine lunch would be just as amazing. We tried the Crepes and the Brisket Scramble. The brisket was smoked with halapenos and covered in fresh queso. It came with a scratch made biscuit, real butter and a cup of fresh fruit. I'm not going to lie, thier menu pushed my norms a bit but I'm glad they did. It wasn't too spicy for me(and I'm a light weight) but could be for the little ones. So, looking for a different breakfast experience this morning, my wife and I landed at The Toasted Yolk Cafe. A little trendy place off Dixie near Ring Rd. It looked crowed but we were seated almost immediately. The area was clean, modern, with a TV anywhere you looked with a mix of different channels. Prompt service with a drink order which was coffee for the both of us, delivery was fast with a mix of creamers. My wife ordered the Golden Gate omelette and I had the Double decker omelette, we had the hash-brown casserole and fruit cup, it also came with a biscuit and I ordered gravy as a side for mine. The portions were huge and presented well. The taste was spectacular and the coffee was very good. We had a great experience and we will return to try more of the menu. The only take away is that it was a little loud, not from the TV's, just the ambient noise. Still I recommend you check it out! read more

Despite what seemed forever to officially open to the public, it seems to be have been worth the wait. Thankfully in taking advantage of their waitlist system our total wait time to be seated was less than 15 minutes on a (church day) Sunday afternoon. Our server was prompt and friendly. A nice variety of menu options, but since this was our first visit I decided to go on a conservative route and with a basic biscuits and gravy option. My husband chose the Cowboy Scramble with his hashbrown casserole fully loaded. We really liked the quality of the coffee mugs and the general layout of the restaurant. The few areas that has room for improvement are in seating and the tvs. We were seated at a booth that could easily sit 6. It felt like wasted space. The thought is if there was a way to set a temporary divider or ability to split the table it could open it up room for others to sit when the restaurant may need the table space for more customers. With the tvs, there was a variety of them but I had to constantly turn to see what my spouse was being entertained by and usually missing the scenes that amused him. The feedback is to have the same telecast on a different TV on the opposite side that allows the ability to see without turning away. By the same token, although tvs are pretty standard in many restaurants they probably could do without and use them more for their advertising, which was easily seen by me but constantly missed by him because his back was to that tv. Although not a personal fan in general, I saw quite a few well designed mimosas ordered and served out. With the exception of a moody toddler screaming for attention that had a few heads turn the ambience is well set for an enjoyable brunch. The screaming toddler was no fault of the staff but just know the high ceilings make it so everyone in the restaurant had turning heads to see what the fuss was about. Given recent experiences at a competitor chain brunch spot in the area, this may be our go-to place in the future as it was refreshing to get the quality and prompt service one hopes to receive in their dining experience. Despite them being part of a chain themselves it gave a nice feeling of the local spot thar one would hope to enjoy. Parking in the complex can be a challenge as the growing businesses and their popularity will continue to help fill the parking lot. Most of the businesses there are opened same days. The main advantage to the other businesses open later is the The Toasted Yolk is only open till 3pm, which then frees up spots for the evening businesses. We look forward to our next visit. read more
