We did not have a good experience. We arrived at 11:00 when the store opens. We called ahead to inform the staff that we were with a large group so they could prepare seating. We had a large group to celebrate a success of a colleague, but didn't know exactly how many would show. Management would not seat us until we had at least half of the group present. They made us wait in the lobby from 11:00 until 11:30 before they would seat us. They missed out on an opportunity because we could have had appetizers and drinks while waiting for the rest of the party. Finally the hostess attempted to put seven of us adults into a booth. It was way too crowded and cramped. I asked to sit at a table (the one they had originally set up for us) and they waiter moved us to the table. The food was bland and cold. Our family visited Cheddars to dine in. Normally we love the freshly prepared food. On our most recent visit on 3/15, my child, wife and myself had upset stomach or nausea during our meal when we consumed our grilled cheese, steak and tenders, and veggie philly, respectively. You know how a failing restaurant starts running out of ingredients and their food quality starts lacking? I'm afraid that's what is happening at this Cheddars location now. The waitress told us before we ordered of everything they were out of. One was white gravy. I had been torn between the Country Fried steak and their Spaghsana (some kind of spaghetti lasagna fusion). So the steak was out because of the gravy and I ordered the Spaghsana. After she put the order in she came back and said they were out of something for the Spaghsana so I ordered the pork chops with mashed potatoes & carrots. My wife ordered the Monte Cristo and was looking forward to their crescent rolls but they were cold when they're usually served hot appearing to be somewhat fresh. One big one and one half the size of the other. The paper they serve them on was burned on the corner. Not just singed, burned back a few inches. Didn't even have the care for quality's sake to replace the cheap piece of paper. Wow, that's bad. She said the Monte Cristo wasn't as good as usual. My pork chops were dry. I could only eat one as I just didn't want to eat any more. Chops and sides appeared to be pre-cooked and reheated. Another sign of a soon to fail restaurant. Very likely a corporate decision to prepare food this way to maximize profits. They call themselves a scratch kitchen giving the illusion that everything is cooked from scratch. Scratch my a$$. What kind of scratch ingredients were they out of for the gravy? Flour? Milk? Grease? Pepper? Couldn't be pepper as there was some on every table. Who runs out of the other stuff? They're staples in any kitchen. Or is it really not a scratch kitchen and their pre-made gravy wasn't delivered? Cut the order short? Or just poor management? The waitress said their staff was thin which sending staff home early is another sign of cutting back to maximize profits. My Caesar salad wasn't even Romaine now that I think of it. I think it was Iceberg with Caesar dressing. It was even turning brown in spots as if it was past its 'best by' date. All of the staff... the remaining staff was as nice as they could be though. We had decided if she said they were out of anything else, we were just going to leave. The sweet tea was good. That's a plus. We had eaten here many times but tonight was our last. Im sure I'll see soon that this location is closed. Although I've lived in Kentucky all of my life, this appears to be on par with most restaurants in this part of the state. Poor. The place was a bit dirty. There was even a piece of a pork chop on the floor underneath the table were some guy tried to stab it with a fork and it was so tough that it shot off the table. We celebrate my mother in law every year on her birthday January 1st at Cheddars. This year she turned 88 and again we went to Cheddars. The food was perfect and our server treated the birthday girl like a queen. Another server, who shares the January 1st birthday, remembered her and made a point to come to the table several times to check on her. Don't order soup and salad to go. They shoved two side salads, two soups, four dressing cups, and croissants into one bag. The staff had to turn bag on side to get through my car window. That made me nervous since it was soup. When I opened and saw the mess I was furious. They could've packed better. The dressing cups are so cheap the lids pop off easily. SOOO DISAPPOINTED! I love Cheddar's, have been to many in different areas but my experience at the JC location, well, not sure I will ever go again. I had not eaten all day, was really craving the "Chicken Fried Chicken" so that is what I ordered. The waitress brought me a great croissant and I was ready for a great meal. But then someone else brought my plate of food to me. The chicken fried chicken was good enough, but the gravy was cold and not enough of it, didn't even cover the chicken. The steamed broccoli was also cold and mushy....but the worst, the absolute worst was the "loaded baked potato". It OBVIOUSLY was a left over from lunch, and this was about 3:30 in the afternoon. You can always tell when a potato has been "baked" for too long, it's brown on the inside, and taste HORRIBLE, as this one did. I kept waiting for my waitress to come back to my table, I wanted to have her get me a FRESH baked potato, but she was scurrying all around and never gave me a second look. No one EVER came back to my table to ask if I wanted another drink, dessert, or anything. BAD, BAD service and I said so when I paid on their "machine" and my "tip" reflected the problem as well. Don't think I will be going back to the JC Cheddar's. Their cook, wait staff and management OBVIOUSLY need some serious help to live up to what a Cheddar's should be. YUK! read more

My husband and I stopped in last night for dinner because we had a gift card and we normally love Cheddars in our home state of Indiana. This visit was a huge disappointment for several reasons. The waitress was friendly enough but did tell us they were out of ranch dressing, coleslaw, broccoli, croissants, ice cream and several other items which I can't remember. My husband ordered a sirloin steak and I ordered the salmon. My salmon was very good but my husbands steak was awful. He couldn't eat about a third of it because it was so fatty and tough. Our waitress did bring us refills of our drinks, but we couldn't find her after that to get butter, to-go cups, or help with our bill. I finally went to the bar to get help. We would never return to this Cheddars, and it was definitely not worth the 20-30 minute drive from the interstate. read more

Worst restaurant experience EVER! Me and my fiance get there to have date night before he leaves for an extended work trip. We get there and we are waiting to be seated. A group comes in behind us and thought they was gonna jump in front. My fiance said something and she went to go sit us. In this moment one of the guys gets "offended" honestly I don't fully know what his problem was. But he then became hostile very quickly and threatened my fiance to take him outside. Omg!! How come nobody has told us about paying Cheddar's a visit in 2021?? We had an afternoon off and plenty of time to decide where to have a late lunch /an early dinner. My husband surprised me by saying "lets go to Cheddar's -(Elizabethtown location) and boy! It took us by surprised how much this place have changed. The last time we stepped into a Cheddar was like 3/4 years ago and that experience was not a good one. But this time around it was very delicious along with super service! We arrived about 2pm, so the restaurant was sort of empty and probably finishing with lunch rush. This location have outside patio with a water fountain-very nice touch! Our waitress suggested the ribs and she was on point! The ribs were falling off the bone and this little piggy was on steroids, enough to take home -on a half rack! She also recommended a painkiller to drink (we left that as our dessert-by the way the size of this drink was worth the price!) the two honey butter dripping croissant were amazingly delicious! Our spinach dip was fresh and the chips were thick enough to dip without breaking off in the dip and NON GREASY. No doubt in my mind these were freshly made same day. I ordered the sirloin steak with shrimp and it was also on point! Our waitress and other servers were checking on us constantly. A five star experience! We hope to return soon! read more

Came to dinner here for the first time tonight. When we got sat, we ordered immediately and the food took about 40 minutes to come out. The day shift manager and the server checked on us twice saying the food would come out soon. I ordered a ribeye steak, medium rare, and it came out well done so I sent it back. The server brought me another steak shortly after, and it was blue rare. Needless to say, I sent it back again. The manager on day shift was very sweet and our server was wonderful. But the manager from night shift that took over day shift wouldn't even come by to our table after they cooked my steak wrong two times and I waited over an hour. The server asked the manager to come to our table and say something to us and he lied to her and said he did because she came and asked me if he came over. The amount of unprofessional service and deception from that manager has turned me away from this restaurant forever. Going to dine at a place for dinner, waiting over an hour for my food to come out after already waiting 45 minutes to be seated to not eat anything, is terrible service. read more

It had been our first time trying a Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. We visited in the mid afternoon last weekend. The atmosphere was quiet and very homey. Although the hostess wasn't particularly friendly, our server was Josh and he was quite the opposite; polite, personable, observant and present. The entrees arrived quickly (actually a little too fast because we'd barely just started enjoying our appetizer). But the food was fresh, hot and plentiful! My fish and chips with side salad was flavorsome and my husband really liked his country fried chicken. Price-wise, everything on the menu seemed fair. Next time we're in town, we'd consider dining at Cheddar's again, for sure. read more

This is great for a quick lunch especially a work lunch. We stopped in on a Friday during lunch, no wait an plenty of seating. They have nice outdoor seating too when the weather allows. We ordered the strawberry and salmon salad. The strawberries were missing, the kitchen didn't think they were fresh, glad they asked us. Salad was fresh and amazing! With candied pecans and strawberry creamy dressing! So glad I ordered this. We also opted for a cup of soup, we both ordered chicken tortilla soup, a little spicy. They also have flavored teas which I love! Let's me save some calories when I opt for unsweet. Their menu has so much to offer. It's hard to review all the options. The food this time around was delicious. I came with a large party to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. Jessica, our waitress was great. She was very attentive and patient with our rowdy table. Everyone at our table ordered some sort of chicken dish and it was all equally delicious. Drink wise I had a couple of the in house pain killers and they were delicious. A fun and new dish I tried was the monte cristo. Almost a form of something you would find at a carnival but absolutely delicious. When I asked the host to see if we could get an additional table now that one was vacant I was given a pretty poor excuse as to why they would not accommodate the customers. So I started to look up these reviews (after the fact). So I decided to leave my own poor review. Second time I've been in here in 5 years. Will be the last ever. Would have ask for whoever was playing the part of a manager but, based on other reviews of this place it likely would not have improved the situation. There are better choices. Rafferty's, Colton's, much better or Waffle (sticky) House would have even been better. I vote with my money. They can go out of business and it wouldn't bother me any. Sad. read more

First off, I will start with the good and say the best thing about Cheddars is the croissants. They don't disappoint here. Second, I ordered a Monte Cristo and it was pretty good. It had the perfect amount of meat cheese and breading. The raspberry jam was the perfect thing to dip it in. Last, the waitress was very nice but you could tell she was super stressed. This Cheddars is very under staffed and while they have a line out the door some days, half the tables or more inside are empty. One time, we were barely a minute away and we called to see if there was a wait. The host said about 5-10 minutes. We drove over, parked, unloaded our entire family, grandparents and kids included and went inside. They said it would be a 50-60 minute wait. They also said they aren't supposed to give wait times over the phone. This is not the place to go after church or at busy times because you will be waiting. Someone I know went in for an interview for a job and they last minute gave her a different location to go to and she waited an hour and no one showed up. I love Cheddars and I really hope that they get more organized and hire more people so the experience is better. read more
