The staff was super friendly and reminded us to what we bought came with endless pancakes and asked if we wanted more. My husband and I returned to this IHOP in Elizabethtown Kentucky this evening for dinner. The service was phenomenal! The waitress Jennifer quickly greeted us with a huge smile, welcoming us and seated us very quickly. There are so many new options on the new menu to choose from. We absolutely love this IHOP and the food is delicious. Not to forget they have the best coffee anywhere in town! We will always be returning customers. Hope everyone that is looking for a new favorite restaurant will most certainly check this IHOP out as they have the very best breakfast, lunch and dinner on the menu. Not worth a rating, the place is run down, the parking lot itself is a indicator of the lack of ownership, took my wife out for breakfast, walked in waited 10 minutes to be seated, there was no greeter the entire time we where there, they where taking turns seating people, finally seated and waited again to get drinks, the waitress was cleaning tables instead of being a waitress, the ceiling vents had condensation coming down all over the place, we had to be careful not to get dripped on, the health department needs to do something, it's a hazard just walking in the place, back to the waitress, the people that came in after us got there food before we ordered, way under staffed, when we finally did get food the eggs were crispy, the hash browns tasted funny and I just lost interest in eating, we waited to pay for the food a good 20 minutes, the place was very cold in uncomfortable was happy to leave. Beware IHOP is outrageously expensive & very little value. I ordered the biscuit gravy combo & coffee. Bill came to $17.47. The coffee not that good was $3.99. There wasn't enough gravy but to cover 1/2 a biscuit. Give me a break. Inflation has taken a toll in many restaurants & consumers alike but IHOP is raping its customers. McDonald's offers a better breakfast for 1/2 the cost. read more

This is the best IHOP I've ever been to. The food was absolutely delicious and our server was great. She had a dry sense of humor and was a great addition to our enjoyment of our meal. Me and my family frequent IHOP restaurants all the time. My mother especially enjoys their dinner meals as well. We always visited and traveling to the Fort Knox area and visited this location for the 3rd time last week as we're visiting and traveling from the Nashville area and this was the best experience we had at an IHOP in a long time. The server, the food and the I think manager as he checked us out was super awesome and they all had smiles on their faces and we were checked on like we matter. We told them the experience they gave us was very caring and attentive. Most restaurants employees especially the young ones are not attentive. I hope they know by their owner how valuable this team of IHOP workers are the best and we definitely be back in 2 weeks. The 5 star not given is because the building needs some TLC so the employees and customers have a better looking refreshing looking place. Not complaining for free anything as that is the norm now. However, my pancakes were burnt and they gave me a tiny thin hashbrown, when theirs are usually thick. The burgers were good and the fries were salty. It doesn't matter if you have 2 or 5 in your party, you'll get seated, drink order, drinks arrive and they take your order, and 45 minutes later your food arrives. No checking on you between. I wish I could give this place a better rating, but just can't. One of my friends and I like to go here for breakfast on Saturdays about once every couple months. We go just to catch up and talk. So, we are never in a hurry and don't mind the enormous wait for our food. Usually, our food is pretty good and service is fine. My last visit, however, was horrendous. My sister and I had to wait at least 20 minutes for a table when there were plenty of tables open. I'm assuming they were understaffed on a Saturday during lunch. When we finally were seated and got our drinks, it took forever for someone to take our order. Then the longest wait I've ever had for food occurred. It was so long that I FINALLY asked the server if she had any idea how much longer it would be. She went to check and came back with our food. My eggs were over cooked, the bacon was burnt, the hashbrowns were burnt, and the toast crumbled in my hand. I had to send the food back even though I was starving. Luckily, it did not take long for it to come back out. After all of that, they still charged us the full cost of the food. We were in there over an hour and a half. Most of that time was spent waiting on food. I don't know that I will ever be back. It was one of the worst dining experiences I have had. The only reason I have given it 2 stars instead of 1 is because my other experiences weren't quite as bad. read more

It was obvious that the wait staff was short, but they had a wonderful, friendly attitude & moved as quickly as humanly possible. See NOTE below. In spite of the shortage, we didn't have to wait for our food any longer than we normally would have. I tried the Poblano Omelet (without beef), and was extremely pleased. There were plenty of seasonings, the bell peppers & onions were cooked perfectly, and the avocado was fresh. Hubby ordered something with hash browns (sorry; I wasn't paying attention to his food!), but I sure noticed those hash browns because they looked so good that I almost swiped them. The one thing that disappointed us both were the restrooms: the men's room was out of paper towels, and the handicapped room in the women's restrooms was filthy. The toilet would barely flush, & there was trash (including a tampon wrapper) on the floor. In fairness to IHOPE, there was a nearly-empty trash receptacle in the room but apparently some trashy female couldn't be bothered. Overall, given the wide-spread difficulty obtaining & keeping restaurant staff, we were completely satisfied with our experience. NOTE: An elderly woman, obviously handicapped & barely able to stay on her feet came in while we were there. The waitress escorted her back to the tables, and asked the elderly patron if she preferred a table (of which there were several clean) or a booth (which were all dirty). When the woman said she preferred the booth, the server seated the woman on a chair while she rushed off to get what was necessary to clean the booth. The worker was very respectful and KIND and THOUGHTFUL to the woman, and I would give the restaurant another try based on her performance alone. That type of courtesy & respect is almost never seen these days, especially among groups that are already over-worked, under-paid, and stressed. 2 weekends in a row my To go order was not ready. First weekend they had no record I even ordered anything which was a call in. So I waited about 30 min for them to cook everything. They were great at accommodating. Today I went in and decided if I ordered online that there would be a record and everything would be ready. I even decided to wait at home past the time the meal would be ready....when I arrive I asked for a to go order and the hostess went over to the machine and saw my ticket...brought it to the back and said your food is not ready yet. The food is typical ihop but the service is good and any issues are the fault of lazy management not helping out when needed. Updated: this place has gotten worse. Staff doesn't know the menu or specials and the coffee tastes watered down now. Sticky tables, broken chairs, and slippery floor means no one is cleaning this place. So much wasted potential. Do not go here! We were seated rather quickly but then after 20 minutes of sitting there... no greeting, no "one moment and I'll be with you" nothing. There were maybe 3 other tables with no food either. There were plenty of staff... but they were too busy sweeping the floors that looked clean and wiping tables that no one was sitting at. I don't know why I keep trying to give these guys another shot, but I do. Here we are this morning, and yet again I'm disappointed. We were the only ones standing waiting to be seated and we stood for a little over 10 minutes with ZERO acknowledgement from any staff. I kept attempting to make eye contact yet not a single employee would even look our way. After finally being seated we sat another 7 minutes before our order was taken. The waitress we had smiled and was pleasant. When our food came, it wasn't quite right. My request of extra crispy bacon was almost raw. My daughters French vanilla coffee and a large film of grease on it. My husbands lightly cooked sunny side up eggs, were burnt around the edges. All the staff walks around as if they would rather die than be here. The only time we saw a smile was when our waitress would attend her tables. The food at this restaurant is good. The staff, on the other hand, is a different story. When I last went to this IHOP, the restaurant was short-staffed, so it took quite a while for us to take our orders, and to get our food. It also meant that the manager was busy in the kitchen and couldn't keep an eye on the entirety of the restaurant. These things do happen every once in a while, so that isn't something to get angry about. There were two notable incidents, though, that were. First, one of the waitresses just stood at the back playing around on her cell-phone, out for everybody to see. There was one chef, and they had to yell for the waitress to get the food and deliver it to the table. She yelled "I'm coming" in response, took the food and delivered it to the table, and just got back on her phone. The front of house manager was aware that she was on her phone, but didn't do anything about it. Again, the restaurant was short-staffed, so it was understandable that it took so long for customers to get their food. However, this waitress was just straight-up being apathetic and incompetent. The second incident is after the people who were sitting behind us left. Two of the waitresses cleaned up the table, and one of them asked if they left anything. When the second responded that a child who was sitting there left his necklace, her response was a nasty and sarcastic remark along the lines of "Oh, great! That's going to pay my bills." I'm well aware that since waiters and waitresses are underpaid, and tipping how they make most of their money, being upset that people didn't leave you a tip is perfectly understandable. However, you shouldn't make these types of comments where other customers can hear you. If it weren't for those two specific incidents, the experience at this restaurant would be a whole lot better. The food, as I've stated before, is good. The problem with this restaurant is mostly the staff. read more

Is it just this location that has absolutely terrible service? I've here a few times in the past couple months and the service gets progressively worse each time. Today, we went at about 9 am. (I understand that it's a busy time for most restaurants) We we're seated almost right away, and then didn't see a waitress for over 10 minutes. We orders our drinks and it took almost 10 more minutes to get them. We ordered our food at 9:12 and got it at about 9:30- which is pretty reasonable. We ordered the New Mexico Chicken Bowl (which I totally recommend) with fruit, and the Quick Two Egg Breakfast. They brought out everything but the fruit within 20 minutes, but it took another 15 and 3 waitresses to get the fruit. The food is 5-Star, but the service absolutely sucks. Waitress took our order and brought silverware for half our party. We had four people and got napkin set for two. Received drinks but no refills. She never checked on us even once. I stopped another waitress to ask for napkins and silverware, and she never responded. When I went to pay, my waitress asked, "was I your server ?" Painfully slow. Arrived at 10:30 am on a Saturday morning. They were busy and it was a 15 minute wait for a table (no problem). We didn't get out of there until 12:00. Waitress seemed scattered, had to ask multiple times for everything ( sweet n low , silverware, etc). I am a hundred percent sure I could have gone to Kroger bought the food and gone home to cook bacon , eggs , hashbrowns and toast for 2 quicker (and better) than IHOP managed.
