I absolutely adored the decorations inside, and the food was delicious. Having lived in turkey, this is the only food I found comparable in terms of quality. Everything had such wonderful flavor and was plentiful in terms of portion size considering the pricing. We did take out and did not Diane , but it was such a cute place that I will definitely be dining in next time. Everyone who worked there was very friendly, and the service was great too. I had heard of Marlaina's and happened to drive by their location. We were fortunate to have a sidewalk table open up when we arrived, but I would recommend a reservation to make sure one is waiting for you. Chef Musa started us with the Mezza platter, and everything was spot on. The charred flavor of the Baba Ganoush was perfect and the tzatziki and hummus was just as good. We shared the Chicken Pirzola. The chicken thigh's we cooked just right and the cinnamon notes of the seasoning were a pleasant surprise but not overwhelming. We were stuffed and got our baklava to go. Later that evening when we ate it, I wish we would have ordered more, it was that good. A cozy comfortable setting with warm and friendly service and utterly delicious food. We ordered the Lamb Shank and the Lamb Pirzola. Both were incredible. Service was a little off, but that's to be expected during these times. The baba ghanoush was our starter and it had a smokey flavor that overpowered all the other flavor. Next time I'd try their Hummus or other starters. We ordered a lamb chop plate and the gyro plate. Both were EXCELLENT! Made up for the just okay baba ghanoush. The lamb was so flavorful and juicy, the Taziki was delicious. The dressing on the salad was delectable and it was the perfect amount. Their Pita bread is homemade, thicker than I am used to, but still delicious. I cannot rave enough about how delicious the meat was here, and perfectly cooked. Our family has been to Marlainas many times - it's a great neighborhood spot with delicious Kurdish food and super friendly service (owner has stopped by to check in almost every time). The chickpea stew is my favorite (sounds unassuming, but it's a flavor bomb!) and the meze platter is massive and perfect for a crowd. They also have a massive back room for parties. read more

Marlaina's is a hidden gem in Downtown Burien. This family owned and operated restaurant specializes in Mediterranean food that is made from scratch. The interior is cozy and comfortable. The booths are lined with colorful fabrics and throw pillows. Festive decorations hang from the ceiling and interesting rugs and artwork line the walls. For an appetizer, I highly recommend the Mezze Platter. It is a sampler with hummus, sauteed eggplant, baba ganoush, tabouli, piyaz (pinto bean salad), dolmades (rice wrapped in grape leaves), and pita bread. Everything was delicious and it was presented beautifully. We got the half order, which was perfect for two people. For my main course, I ordered the Kebab Delight, which is a combination of lamb, beef, and chicken. You get about two pieces of each type of meat and it is served with green salad, tzatziki, and either Mesopotamian potatoes or basmati rice. I thought the meats were tender and everything tasted good. To drink I ordered a cardamom tea. I thought it was really unique and it smelled great. It was served in a cute cup with a bowl of sugar. Overall, we really liked this place and everything was good. However, I did think it was kind of expensive, so we probably will only come here once in a while. read more

You can order half size of Mezze plate for 2 people and full size for more than 3 people... good amount of dish. Delightful neighborhood Mediterranean restaurant. Food - we ordered Mezze Platter - lots of variety and baba ghanoush and dolmas were our favorites. The hummus is tasty too, actually all of it was very good and healthy. Lamb kebabs - marinated, tender and perfectly grilled. Served with tzatziki, grilled green pepper and tomato, spinach salad and rice. Chicken pirzola - the 3 pieces of boneless thighs were perfectly marinated and so tender, also served with tzatziki, grilled green pepper and tomato, spinach salad and rice. We had Turkish coffees after dinner, perfect and took walnut baklava to go after dinner. We'd reorder all items but next time will try a gyro plate and the lamb shank also looked delicious. Service - impeccable. We called for a reservation, as the website recommended. There were a few open tables but it's a small restaurant and busy evening. Everything was explained, questions answered and everyone working was kind and very efficient. Ambiance felt cozy, brightly. Colored booths and walls and rugs hanging make it feel nice and dampened sound. It's a great date spot and family friendly as well. Dined here last week after arriving on a flight into SeaTac. EXCELLENT choice! My wife (very picky) and daughter were both amazed. Service was extremely attentive and quick to offer a substitute when a small side sauce was not preferred by my wife. I had the Gyro platter, which was a whole lot of gyro meat - too much. Marlaina's is a colorful, comfortable restaurant. The server was very kind, and it was apparent she wanted guests to be satisfied. Unfortunately, we were there on a late Friday afternoon, and the place quickly became too busy for the single server to handle. This is the place to come for a leisurely, two-hour meal while enjoying your dining companions - much the way Mediterraneans eat, I imagine. The food was incredible, rich, flavorful, and oh, so fresh, obviously prepared that day. I had the small Mezze Platter, which was way more than enough for sharing. My favorites were baba ganoush, piyaz, and the dolmades - all very flavorful. I prefer a more garlicky hummus, however. This was such a good find. We sat outside and it's on such a cute little street surrounded by other restaurants. Flowers + shade =Bonus for me! We met the owner/chef Musa. On the menu, we've tried quite a few different things, one of which being their shank, so tender and so delicious. Yep they cook it all day long down to a mouthwatering perfect bite that melds perfectly. The baba ghanouj I'm telling you has the best lingering aftertaste. We have it every time we go to service always very efficient has the right questions at the right times and is very attentive.
