We got takeout for dinner. Food is good but overpriced imo. For what you pay, I would go enjoy the meal at the restaurant instead of getting takeout. Most dishes we ordered are delicious. I especially enjoyed: +Mixed Meat Pide ($22) - cheesy and lots of meat. Good size to share between 2-3 people. +Hikal ($22) - little beef dumpings with yogurt sauce. My toddler was a big fan cuz it's bite-size for him. +Sultan Mix Meat Plate ($70) - aside from the price tag, I recommend this if you have more than 3 people, and want to try a variety of meat. The lamb chop is a group favorite. -Lula Lamb ($30) - 2 skewers plus rice and salad for $30, not worth it. The lamb is overcooked so it's a bit dry and tough. Our least favorite of all. read more

This place is so cute inside and they have a cool patio for outdoor dining! I love. Turkish food, and couldn't wait to try this spot near my house. The food was great as was the service. Our water glasses stayed full, which is often a problem. You won't ask for better service here! My friend and I got the Sultans platter to share and the cheese Pide. Both did not disappoint. I like how they give you some mix veggies and hummus to open your stomach. Both times we came received great services. Its a nice size and I think would be able to accommodate larger parties if need be. I had a veggie Pide and it was wonderful. There has been a big boom of Turkish spots in Kent just within the last year so today, my friend and I tried out Sofra for lunch. A nice big clean place! I was excited to check out their menu. The most flavorful and best dish we got were the samsas, flaky pastry with beef and onions, 5 pieces to an order. We tried 2 of their pides, both just ok. Also got the turkish dumplings but by then we were passed full. Friendly and kind service, Ill definitely return to try more menu items. Only one star less because our server was unsure if non dairy options were available for their coffee drinks/espresso so I did not order. My sister and I came in late one night around 8 to grab some takeout. We didn't realize it was a Muslim holiday (the end of Ramadan) and this place was packed. The owner and the girl at the front were super helpful with picking out food. They were patient and very nice despite having a completely full house and people still waiting to sit. We got hinkal, lamb ali nazik and chicken ali nazik. Everything was delicious, can't wait to come back and try more. read more

No one checked on us, we needed water refills and wanted to order dessert but the guy didn't come to take the order so we just paid and left. I had high hopes for this place as it looks nice and the reviews looked good. I'm Turkish and fortunate to eat my mom's cooking and go home regularly. This isn't true Turkish food. Some of the menu items aren't even Turkish (Turkish mantı is very small delicate dumplings, not the large versions they had which are a more Eastern European food, and the smaller dumplings they called hinkal aren't Turkish at all). The spices were totally off on things like köfte and the tomato sauce on the Iskender. The eggplant we were served was almost tangy so they either prepared it with rancid yogurt or something had gone wrong with the eggplant. They used an American-style thick rice and it tasted nothing like Turkish rice. Given the price point, I would have expected that they wouldn't cut so many corners on ingredients and spices. I am not super familiar with Georgian food but wonder if the flavors were more from that region as opposed to Turkey and if that might explain why it tasted so unfamiliar. If so, advertising is as such might help manage people's expectations. There aren't a ton of Turkish options in the greater Seattle area but there are a few that are much more authentically Turkish. On the up side, the muhammara and hummus were tasty appetizers, I enjoyed the salad that came with my meal, and the waitress was very sweet and helpful. read more

I've driven from Seattle plenty of times just so that I can eat authentic Turkish food here that Seattle absolutely lacks. The owners and the family are of Turkic ethnicity that's hailing from Russia. So if you come here with an idea of what " Turkish food "is supposed to look like you might get a little confused. A Turkey Turk myself, I did discover a lot of new dishes coming here and everything I tried was perfect. Just a little PS though, dishes that has döner like İskender will be underwhelming anywhere in USA as there are some prep that's harder to complete here compared to eating it in Turkey. read more

Can't wait to go back! Sofra Turkish Grill is a beautifully decorated restaurant. It's interior is inviting and the restaurant looked immaculately clean. I ordered the menemen, iced coffee, and the sucuklu egg pide. The menemem was served with a pita and was a light fresh bite. The pide was one of the best pides I have had and the portion was huge. Restaurant was clean, nice decor. Food safety rating sign on the front door was marked as "Okay" which is the second to the lowest rating. That was a little discouraging but we decided to go for it anyway. We each ordered a cup of lentil soup and the Dolma appetizer. Soup was a creamed lentil, a little bland but decent. The Dolma was good, nothing outstanding. My husband ordered the Donor Durum wrap and I ordered the Samsa. His sandwich arrived promptly, looked like it could have been made from the Costco gyro kits, did not appear at all to be meat that had roasted on a rotisserie per the menu description. It came with fries that were under-salted and bland. My Samsa arrived 20 minutes after my husband's wrap. The waitress came over after about 15 minutes and said it takes awhile because of the cooking time. Would have been nice to be informed of that when ordering. Needless to say my husband was finished with his meal, as waiting would have ended up with him eating cold food. When the Samsa finally arrived they were underwhelming. This is listed as an entree, but it's mostly bread as there are only about 2 tablespoons of meat/onion mix in each one, the bottoms were soggy and tough. I love Mediterranean food, so I was excited to try Turkish cuisine. I loved it! If you like Mediterranean food, this place is for you! Great tasting food! We tried a few dishes and all of them were tasty! We had mixed Pide, Hinkal, mixed Ali Nazik and Iskender Kebab. My favorite was Ali Nazik, which had hummus (I think eggplant) and some sort of sauce in addition to rice and salad. We also had turkish coffee and sampled baklava. I would definitely come back. One thing I would suggest is to bring appetizer type of food before main dishes. Our Pide came after main dishes which was ok because we were hungry . Our server was very attentive! Coming from a kid, this burger really was delicious. Basically everything in this restaurant was delicious, and you could tell it was homemade with care. The burger wasn't too overwhelming and it had a nice balance between flavor and all the components inside of it, like lettuce. The fries were a nice addition too. The place is beautiful, very modern aesthetic inside of the restaurant. The food was good, big portions for most meals. The only complaint my family and I had was that the service was very rushed. The waitress came over fast to take our order, food didn't take long.. she immediately came to ask whether we wanted dessert and then lingered around our table.. so we paid and left. The restaurant was not at all busy when we were there, so there was no need to linger around us and rush the dinner process. Came here for lunch. There was a large party on one end of the restaurant and the other end was setup for another large party for later on, but there was still plenty of seating and not crowded. Overall, the atmosphere was contemporary and bright. Was presented with a notebook with pictures of the dishes and a separate price sheet. Took a good 15-20 minutes for our server to come take our order. We each ordered a lunch entree and one appetizer to share. My entree was delivered first. After 5 minutes, our appetizer arrived. After another 10 minutes, my friend's entree arrived. I don't understand why 1. the service was so slow and 2. why the food delivery was staggered. Once delivered, there was no follow up to ensure the food was okay, nor an offer for dessert. After the plates were cleared, we sat another 10-15 minutes waiting to cash out. Again, they weren't that busy. Just no sense of urgency at all. The food itself was very good - solid 4-4.5 - but the slow, awkward service made the experience less than enjoyable. Given the obvious violations of basic restaurant hospitality, I can't see this place sticking around too long if they don't get their staff trained up too modern restaurant standards. read more
