My circa 1920's engagement ring with band set
    Erin W.

Located in an old chicken coop, Marlene Harris has a fabulous selection of estate, vintage, and vintage inspired jewelry. Her selection is out of the world--I have a vintage soul and knew I wanted a vintage engagement ring. My now husband and I paid a visit to Marlene and found the perfect ring at a great price (it appraised above what we ended up paying). Marlene spends time with you to pinpoint what ring fits you and your style. Warning: the is BLUNT, so just an FYI... She let me take my top picks outside individually to see how they sparkled in the sun--it was magic.

Marlene's shop is just lovely. And super busy on weekends, so try to come on a weekday! It's located inside of a refurbished chicken coop, but it feels like you're stepping inside of a large jewelry box. It's very, very quaint. We were helped by Marlene's assistant on a Saturday, who also happens to do all the photography for the website. It's highly recommended that you pick out a few product IDs you like online before going into the store. The assistant pulled out a bunch of two-toned retro modern (~1940s) rings for me, but ended up also pulling a single-toned white gold retro modern on intuition and that was the one my fiance and I ended up choosing. No one ever attempted to upsell us in the Wedding-Industrial-Complex format. But it was true that some ring bands were just too tiny on my hands, proportionally (I'm tall, so my hands are proportionally larger). This opinion was stated to me by the saleswoman, and I appreciated the outside subjective honesty communicated in a cautious manner. Of course, I bet if you stood your ground on the tiny ring it'd be fine, but it wasn't really an issue for us. We didn't have much interaction with Marlene herself, but she did recommend pairing my engagement ring with a different metal wedding band, which is an interesting idea I had not thought of before. It's really great that the selection was so vast, I had been worried my need to avoid conflict diamonds and the waste of new gold would lead me to limited options, but not at Marlene's shop. However, tastes in men's wedding bands have really changed over the years. So if you're looking for something that the modern younger groom might like, you may find better prices for simple wedding bands elsewhere. They're worth a look for their interestingness alone. I came back to the store to retrieve my ring after re-sizing and insisted on wearing it out of the shop (we got engaged a month prior, picked out the rings together, and fiance was out of town when the ring was ready for pick-up, there was no way I was going to wait 2 more weeks to wear my ring!). I think it gave Marlene a little bit of a shock, or she was just confused about it, but she hid it fairly well. The variety and the prices here are absolutely fantastic. Every.Possible.Price.Range. I am so, so happy I found Marlene's store. It really is quite the little gem!

I wish I could give Marlene and her stunning collection a million stars. Her taste in jewelry is extraordinary: she has by far the widest selection and most unique, gorgeous vintage and antique pieces I've ever seen. My fiancé wanted something special for a wedding band and, before coming to Marlene, we found only overly expensive and boring men's bands. Within a few minutes, Marlene had pulled a handful of perfect options for him, each one of which was 1000x better than anything he'd tried at other stores. Marlene is a truly special person: she spent 4+ hours with my fiancé, cracking jokes, sharing expertise, and helping him decide on the perfect ring. She also pulled some exquisite wedding jewelry for me. I only wish we found her collection sooner, and hadn't wasted times at expensive boutiques and lesser-quality antique stores. We will absolutely be back. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Marlene!!!

It was so much fun seeing all of these special finds!

A beautiful 'tiny jewel box' filled to the brim with thousands of beautiful glittering baubles (SO MANY WEDDING BANDS!!!) and unusual antiquities- you won't leave empty handed trust me! I stayed for over two hours, haha. It is just that transcendent of a place! So happy to have met you Marlene! You're a true gem!

I recently bought 2 stackable wedding bands from Marlene. I'm IN LOVE with them! I live in Los Angeles, CA so I was scared to order over the internet (Marlene is in PA), but I hated everything I was finding here... not to mention it's SO much more expensive over here. I randomly found her online store when googling antique style jewelry. Hands down she has the best assortment of real vintage pieces, vintage inspired pieces, and modern pieces. I bought my bands from her at an amazing price (gold had just sky rocketed). She assured me that if I didn't like them I could send them back. My only issue is that I really wanted a picture on someone's finger, and she wasn't able to arrange for her IT person to do it. I'm OK with that because it worked out really well.... Now if I only didn't have to wait to wear them until my wedding!

Marlene crafted a gold wedding band for me from a picture. Bought 2 for just in case and my wife also got a matching band.

Not wanting to drive to Ohio or Philadelphia to purchase one, I happened to call The Treasure Shack to see whether they had any in stock. I spoke with the gentleman who owns the Shack and he informed that he did, indeed, have a couple original Hoosiers in his store. He described them both to me in great detail and, based upon that conversation, I decided to drive out to Bridgeville and check them out. The moment I walked into this store, I knew I would be going home with more than a cupboard. The Shack is a well-curated little antique store that sells everything from mid-century furniture to (gorgeous) Imperial carnival glass to creepy little trinkets from the 1940s and 50s (i.e., wobbly clown toys). It's well organized, nicely decorated, and smells kinda like grandma's kitchen (in a good way). I ended up purchasing a Hoosier, as well as some glassware, after perusing the store and chatting with the owners for a couple minutes. (Side note: The owners are quite personable and very knowledgeable. They seemed more than happy to answer my random questions.) Even if you don't have something specific in mind, I recommend taking a couple minutes to browse the store if you're in the area. The selection is quite varied and the prices are more than reasonable. Needless to say, I definitely wasn't disappointed with my Treasure Shack experience, and the 25 minute drive to Bridgeville was worth every second.

However, as soon as you enter, you realize the sheer size and organization of the vendors and items. Welcomed with a greeting from the front counter employees, you immediately are whisked into stall after stall of treasures. As you move through, you realize that there are staircases hidden within and floor after floor of more and more. I have found some of my favorite booths... Pittsburgh Sports, Disney vintage, and some vendors who just seem to find those trinkets that interest everyone. And surprisingly, the vendors seem to always be adding more and new items to catch your eye. The value is up to the buyer. I always can find a few things to grab that are at a good price. I failed to take pictures, but the offerings range from truly antique to more modern tchotchkes. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely come back
