Had breakfast here again today. Gary turns an ordinary pannini into a work of art...his pesto aioli was perfection, delicate with just the right amount of everything. I would buy a tubful if he sold it that way. Hubby's breakfast wrap Florentine was huge, tasty, and definitely a repeat for another time. His meal presentation is appealing, always a garnish of fresh fruit that is sweet and high quality and some savory red potatoes. Now, as far as lunch fare goes, we brought home his lunch special of the day - Penne Alfredo with chicken. This dish runs the risk of being too rich, too common. But had it for dinner tonight and it was superb. His sauce is so deliciously cheesy, almost likened to a mac and cheese Italian style, and the chunks of chicken breast were generous and perfectly cooked, moist! The pasta was cooked just right (not al dente), so it could happily soak up the sauce perfectly. As always, a special touch for making it his own, it came topped with julienned zucchini (lightly sauteed) and fresh chopped tomato. Came with a delicious garlic cheese toast. OMG - Folks, I would get this again in a heartbeat. Monday through Thursday, you should come visit Gary at his little cafe! Once you find it, that is. I went to a Loma Linda event recently "Jazz in the Garden" and was immediately WOWed at the beautiful displays of Vegetable Crudite's, Assorted Cheese Montages, Playfully done Dessert presentation and delectable Mashed Potato Bar that was at this event. Being in the Catering industry I wanted to see who did the work because I was impressed. I was given the card of the Caterer and later checked out the website. I went here for lunch yesterday to pick up a sandwich "Marmalade Special" Turkey, Cranberry-Horseradish, Red Onions, Aioli on Foccacia Bread and I added Smoked Gouda it was good... not KNOCK ME OUT OF THE PARK good just feasible. The baked beans side order was delicious (mind the gas people) being from Boston I love Pizza and can be particular about Baked Beans these were good had chunks of bacon that added to the flavor I ate that BEFORE the dayum sandwich... now what does THAT tell you??? Very small location back in a Industrial mall so sorta hard to find if you don't call ahead and ask for some specific directions. Here is my recommendation... if you are catering an event in the Riverside area TRUST ME based upon what I have seen at the Loma Linda event go with this Caterer their presentation was Magnificent reminded me of my Catering roots (J. Bildner and Sons) and the reason why I went into this profession. If you want sandwiches just for lunch... not so sure it's out of the way (if you are in downtown) and it cost me $9.00 that sandwich did not impress me enough to cost me $9.00 sorry. The sandwich is good. Took 35 mins to get our food and only 4 other people was there 2 cooks i had the special which was chicken sandwich that was good and a potato soup which was just okay. i thought the sandwich would be a bit bigger but sadly it wasnt =/ price is kinda up there for something small. my bf got the roast beef sandwich with potato salad. sandwich was good and juicy, potato salad just taste like any old potato salad you buy. i would come here to eat again. but wont get the soup. i also want to try the desserts. it looks so yummy read more

We had a graduation party planned, but my boyfriend surprised me with a proposal that night. It was at the Riverside Art Museum. As he and I were overtaken with joy and emotion, We actually didn't get to try the food. With that being said, EVERYONE (over 100 people) raved about the food. They said it was exquisite and actually would leave the dance floor to get more of it. Some of the comments were that the mashed potato bar was the coolest thing ever. The bacon wrapped dates were to die for. The meat carving station had very juicy meat. The list goes on. We were so angry we did not get to try the food, because everyone in that place loved it. Many people asked for his contact information to book him. Aside from the food, we got to interact with the main chef. Gary was such a polite and kind man. He set everything up with my mother in law, and was very reassuring about the amount and quality of food. He reassured us that we would not run out of food, no matter what happens. Paul and his staff did an exceptional job. We started the ceremony with the mother of the groom and his only sister getting in a car accident which delayed us nearly an hour: in addition, we had a MUCH larger turnout than our RSVP list. I'm still trying to count who showed up. It was unbelievable. All the while Paul remained professional, and true to his word that he never runs out of food. We received MANY compliments on the food and service. I want to personally thank both Gary and Paul for the stellar service and food. There isn't another catering company I would recommend first or use before Marmalade Toque. So glad we were referred to you. Our menu included: buffet style spa waters and iced tea, appetizers of fruit and cheese, Cajun chicken and mashed potatoes; vegetable lasagna, bread, salad, and green beans. Their decor and set up was beautiful. Their servers were professional and polite. The food looked great and was served fresh and hot. The Marmalade Toque cratered our wedding last October at the HomeStead in Oak Glen. The food was amazing and we could not of asked for better service. The staff presented themselves professionally. We had chicken which was very moist and very well seasoned and Ti-Tip cooked onsite and it was amazing. We had plenty of food to go around for my guests. My adult guests were fighting over the kids Macaroni and Cheese that we designated as a kids meal, I guess we needed to make it one of the appetizers. Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic decorations! We hired them to cater and bar tend at our home for the reception following my mother's memorial service. During the hiring of there services, I found myself too overwhelmed to select decorations and asked Mr. Gary if he could choose something appropriate, classy, and matching my home. He agreed. I am glad I turned the task over to him because the table décor was beyond stunning and all guests commented on it. There was PLENTY of food and the food was EXCELLENT. I loved all of the extra's (sauces, salsa, etc.--YUMMY). The staff was very attentive to the guests and it was obvious that they really wanted to make certain everyone was happy. Used Marmalade Toque catering for my wedding of 200 guest i must say they did a very excellent job not only was the food delicious the service was outstanding staff was very professional. With all the stress of planning a large wedding i can honestly say i did not have to stress or worry about the food part Paul was on top of everything from bringing the China i wanted ( venue did not provide ) to making sure the linens of the buffet table match the colors of my wedding. So OK I helped organize an event with a friend using them and everything seemed to be going well but then here's the thing... I had quite a few people at the party come by and say how badly the staff acts and talks.. One of my friends who is on a broad for equality rights said that he heard the owners son say some awful things about gay people and women. Additionally I heard them saying things in conversation that was based around screwing around and talks of "hot" women and sex talk. It just was inappropriate. Honestly the things I overheard and were told that other people heard really put many of us with a bad taste in our mouths. ADDITIONALLY, the food was decent (nothing great and sometime very poorly presented) but when I asked for containers or help with getting the leftover food put away I was told very reluctantly that they could give me "some" of the food... This is confusing as we paid for the food so if there are left overs shouldn't we get the food?? They just seemed really cheap about it. In the end I basically had to get my own containers as they didn't even have anything but a few cheesy plates to hand me. To sum it all up, staff seemed unorganized, inappropriate and uncooperative. We could have got that by going to a Denny's and renting the back room for a night. read more

Marmalade Toque catered our NYE Masquerade Ball. Our guests were very pleased with the presentation of the tables and they all agreed the food tasted very well. Gary was our main contact from start to finish. He communicated very well and was on top of everything. Paul was the contact for the actual evening itself. He showed up on time and prepared all the food and was ready to go when the event started. My Daughter used this catering service for her wedding on October 12 this year and they were terrible. First they were 30 minutes late to arrive. Then after the ceremony they served cheese and crackers to our guests. They were making plates for the wedding party which I am the mother of the bride, when I went to get one the server was rude and told me I couldn't have one. When I told her who I was she was still very argumentative with me and told me my husband already got me one. I pointed to my husband who had nothing in his hand, at which time she gave me one. At dinner we were supposed to have shrimp skewers which we only had single shrimp given out at which my guests requested a 2nd and were told no, including myself. I told them I'm paying them so they gave me a 2nd one. They told one of my guests they were at table 13 so they must not be very important so they only get one shrimp my guests got mad and lest the party. They were supposed to supply nice plate ware. Well we had to go out and get better plates before the wedding because the ones they brought were plain flimsy styrofoam. This cost me 300 dollars extra to my wedding planner to run out to get at the last minute. We had wedge salads and they brought no knives to cut them with. Only forks were available. You can't eat a wedge salad with only a fork. They did not leave the left over food, which I know there had to be a lot since they were so stingy on the servings. They did not tell anyone that there were meatballs, so where did they go. Probably home with the crew, who were rude to me and my guests. We called to speak to the owner of this place, but were told his phone was broken? Very disappointed! My only daughters wedding and this is what I will remember :( read more

On June 3, 2014, Marmalade Toque Catering of Riverside, CA served a wonderful lunch at my daughter Samantha's High School graduation gathering. Their staff was very courteous though professional. Their Mexican food menu was exceptional and appreciated by all 40 people in attendance. The 24-foot long setup was spectacular and added significantly to our classy event.
