He is anxious, and there were times he did not play appropriately with smaller dogs (he had too much energy, and he does not always recognize/respond to the other dog's body language of "please give me space." They gave me great feedback on how he was doing, but his trainer and I decided that daycare for my anxious dog would not let him be "his best self." I then transitioned him to their Woofer Walker Munchkin March pack walks, which is a much better fit for him. He gets to socialize with the other dogs in the pack walk, run himself silly, and sniff everything (animate and inanimate). Obi would walk over my dead body to get to Woofer Walker Judy! He is so excited when it is Woofer Walker day that he waits by the front door, staring at it until he hears the van pull up, and then loses his mind. Judy is very patient with his excitement. They let me know which days would be the best fit for him regarding the other dogs' personalities and play styles, so he goes every Tuesday and Thursday. They also post videos of some of the highlights of the walks and post pictures - it is the highlight of our evening to watch the videos! I've downloaded some of the images since they are great shots!

As I met more people, I had several people tell me about Woofer Walkers and decided to try them. My dog is always excited to go to daycare when we arrive. He loves so many of the staff and I always feel like Ali'i is in good hands. There were a couple of times when I had emergencies come up and the crew was always ready to receive Ali'i... they are always patient and understanding when things come up. One of the best places I STILL take Ali'i when I have to go away for the week or even just a day in daycare. Thanks to Bella, Justin, and crew for keeping our pups safe!

Although I've often thought of writing a review, I never got around to it but when I picked Angus up yesterday, I knew I had to tell anyone looking for a doggie daycare, what a special place the Doghouse is and how wonderful & caring the people who work there are. You can expect your doggie to have walks, play and cuddles, but on occasions like Halloween, you can expect the staff to go above and beyond and add another layer of fun to the day. My Wee Angus really loves coming here. I really appreciate the environment Christine (manager), Laura and Jenna have created for the doggies & the positive work environment they seem to have with each other. This is a great place for small dogs and I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a daycare for your small doggie.

Every visit the first year he gained confidence, he has best friends, human and of course many dog buddies. Check out Instagarm and you will see Markus and all the dogs. He is so happy to attend and gets excited when we are a block away. The staff truly love the dogs and interact with them. When we pick him up we get updates, lately Markus is going on longer walks which is awesome. He is ready for quiet hang out time at the end of the day, having walked, played, napped and snacked. Staff never force him to walk, some days he is more quiet and just wants his pee breaks and short walks, other days he leads the pack. We reccomend The Doghouse 100% !

I'm deeply disappointed with VCA Canada CareClub. After an apartment fire forced me to relocate more than 50 km away--a valid reason for cancellation under their own contract--I tried to cancel my plan. Despite paying $1,464.66 and only using $338.89 worth of services, VCA kept $1,125.77 of my money! That's money I paid for services I never even used! To make matters worse, when I tried to transfer my plan to a new VCA hospital in my current city, they flat-out refused. So not only did they refuse to transfer my plan, they kept the money after I canceled. The entire contract is designed to exploit customers and squeeze out every penny, no matter the circumstances. This is a blatant money grab and feels heartless, especially considering I've lost everything in a fire. I expected care for my pet, but what I got instead was greed. Be cautious before signing up for this plan--it's unfair and completely lacks compassion. What makes it worse is the predatory practices that VCA engages in. When they automatically renewed my plan they had enrolled me in the wrong plan, and when I had realized this it was already past their arbitrary 60-day window to make changes. Their "options" to resolve the issue were: 1. Cancel my current plan, switch to a Senior Paws Plus plan (which would increase my monthly payments), applying the payments I had already made in the current plan and locking me into a new 12-month contract, 2. Stay on my current plan, get a $516.69 discount on a dental service (but still pay about $800 upfront for the procedure, including anesthesia, x-rays, meds, etc.). Lastly, when the plan was switched over, I was charged for the first month of the new plan and the last month of the old plan in the same month. The real insult? They're happy to offer a discount if I continue paying into their system, but they refuse to refund the excess money I paid for services I never used--money I can't afford to lose as a low-income individual living in social housing and currently without a home. I prioritize my pet's well-being, but clearly, VCA is more interested in draining their customers' wallets than actually helping them care for their pets. I am absolutely disgusted and extremely disappointed with VCA Canada CareClub's lack of ethics and compassion. Avoid them at all costs!

OUR DOG WAS ATTACKED AND SEROUSLY INJURED UNDER THEIR CARE. AND A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DOG ALLOWED…read moreTO RETURN!! Our sweet, calm husky was attacked without provocation and severely injured by another dog at Dogtown by Dog taxi Daycare two weeks ago. She's almost toothless so she couldn't even defend herself. We have been trying to reach a resolution with them but they are refusing to provide us with details on the attack. They will not pass on the bill to the other owners and are only offering partial credit for future services. But since the other dog is still attending daycare, we feel like we can't trust them anymore to keep our dogs safe. If it wasn't for our dog's size and thick fur, the bite could have been fatal. A smaller, shorter haired dog would have had their throat ripped open completely. We have been asking them to at least let us know a description of the dog so we can avoid them in the neighborhood, prevent another dog from potentially being killed and get the medical costs ($1100) covered as well as a refund for the prepaid passes ($1600) we have with the daycare. All they can tell us is that a person unaffiliated with the daycare attempted to enter their private outdoor park and that agitated the dogs. Our dog was resting, lying on the ground and minding her own business when the other dog snapped and went after her. They say it was misplaced aggression and over excitement so she became the victim just because she was the closest. The dogs had previously met and interacted with no problems. They say that the other dog is in private training, will be kept separate if we send ours back but is still placed in a smaller group of dogs at the daycare. What's the point of an interview and screening if a potentially dangerous dog with a bite history is still allowed to attend? It could have been much worse consequences if that aggression was directed at a small dog or a child. At the first call, the daycare told us we needed to pick up our dog ASAP but downplayed the severity, saying it broke skin but she'd be alright. We got the call at 3:30 picked her up at 4 after they had cleaned up some of the blood. By the time we could get her seen by the vet at 4:30/5 pm until they could take her in at 5:30, she was still bleeding all over the floor. They got her into surgery and shaved the area to see the full extent of the bite. It required a number of stitches and was about 5 cm wide. It was a deep puncture that the vet said ruptured the muscle on her neck. Our other dog witnessed the attack and he has been shaken up ever since. Both dogs are still traumatized and now quite reactive to other dogs, something that was never an issue previously.

tldr: Contact the city about cases of incident from this place before you sign up…read more It's been just a bit over a year since our dog was attacked at this facility and since no real resolution was made I thought it was best to post my experience. Our husky was attacked while at daycare in this facility, she had been sleeping in the outdoor space and another dog freaked out when a person entered and decided to attack. This resulted in our husky requiring sedation and multiple stitches as the other dog went for her neck. After the incident, we tried to get in contact with a manager or higher-level employee to see what was going to be done moving forward. What we requested was to ensure the other dog was removed from daycare and to pass along the medical bill to the other owner. The waiver signed explicitly says that you are responsible for the medical cost if your dog hurts another, so this seemed fair. We were informed that the aggressive dog was not being removed, so we told them we were not comfortable keeping ours there and would like a refund for our existing passes. Regarding the medical bills, and refunds every person we talked to said we'd have to talk to a manager. We called and emailed over a dozen times for a month. Every time we got a hold of someone they said no manager was available, but that we would receive a callback. We would then wait 3 or 4 days but would never hear back. Finally, we made a post within some of the community Facebook groups and review sites warning other owners that the aggressive dog remained at the facility. We also informed animal control that an aggressive dog was being permitted to stay within the daycare service. Within a day the owner finally called us, we went back and forth about how we felt it was reasonable to pass on the medical bill. The owner did not care about our requests or how our dog was doing and was only concerned about the reviews. He then blamed our dog saying it was her fault she was attacked because she was a husky and that we shouldn't have taken her to the vet. Finally, we came to an agreement that they would sell the other owner discounted services and provide us with the money for the medical bills. They still refused to refund our passes or to remove the aggressive dog, but it was a step. A month after this, they finally provided us with a third of the money. They continuously harassed us about the reviews and promised the money was coming. When the review was not removed they cut contact and we never received the rest of the medical bills or a refund for the passes. After all this, we continued contact with animal control as they were working to see if anything could be done. We found out from them that this facility has a history of poor management. Including a dog fatality due to heatstroke, and leaving dogs in boarding alone overnight, which resulted in neighbours having to rush in and free dogs during a fire. We also found out that the same aggressive dog that had attacked ours ended up attacking another at the facility about a month later. Since the facility knew it was an aggressive dog and opted to allow it to stay the city has now decided to move forward with a more serious case. If you are thinking about putting your dog in this facility, DON'T. Even if you believe I am biased (which I am) I implore you to reach out to the city and inquire about their cases pass and active.

There are no formal policies for deposits, refunds, or cancellations--everything seems to change on a whim. Payments are demanded at random times and arbitrary dates, and the owner routinely contradicts herself depending on the situation. Ruby tragically passed away a week before our scheduled August stay, for which I had prepaid $800 in full. Despite the circumstances, Harman only offered a partial refund and has spent more than two months giving one excuse after another for why the payment still hasn't been returned. To make matters worse, in another Yelp response she herself stated that her policy is to refund clients if a trip is canceled--yet she refused to do the same for me after my young dog had just died. What started as a place I trusted to care for Ruby has turned into a deeply frustrating and disheartening experience. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic empathy is astounding.
