I been on a contract work assignment near Utica and this Wendy's location is by my hotel-this place is by far the most mismanaged, out of control disaster I have ever encountered. You can sit at the drive through forever until someone whispers into the intercom-they will act in strange ways so as to not have to take your order or until you drive away. All happen to be African - American and appear to be unusual at the least. They will waste your time every time-if you happen to get your food you might as well pitch it ok the way out. Absolutely horrible experience, I'm amazed this location is still in business, let's see how much longer it can hold out before folding! read more

My girlfriend was having a pregnancy craving at midnight so we decided to drive out and in total everything wasnt terrible. The place wasnt super busy but the service was still slow. Our waitress didnt end up charging us for everything we got because she felt bad. The hashbrowns were luke warm at best and we were waiting about 35 mins for our food after waiting about 20 to get seated and get drinks. Went to eat with my brother at Dennys. I ordered a cheeese burger with hash browns. He ordered a turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy. The resturant was empty, that made me question if something may be off. Took a chance anyways. We waited for 15 min his meal came first while I waited for mine. The potatoes were cold so he told the waitdress and she told the kid ( AKA cook ). While still waiting for my burger the waitdress brought my hash browns to me and hot gravy for my brother. The potatoes were brought out 15 min. later. I was still waiting for my burger so I started to eat his potatoes because I was hungry. The waitdress informed my that the burger was made as a chicken sandwhich and had to reorder my burger. When the burger came out it tasted funny, I eat less then half of the burder. Everything about our experience was strange. Our original server said he was handing us off because his shift was over. And in the very long wait between ordering and getting our meal, suddenly the first server pops up again and is cheerily waiting on a table next to us. Huh. Was it something we said? Our server was sweet but overwhelmed by her two or three tables and kept forgetting things (straw, ketchup, side of mayo). Went on a Saturday just before noon. It looked super rundown inside, but we got seated right away. The servers were confused on who got the next table every time someone new walked in, so it took a minute for one to "claim" us. The server who ended up claiming us was kind, but the food took forever to come out. The sampler appetizer was good, but the home fries were super dry and unseasoned and a gnat poured out with the syrup on one of the pancakes. We've been to multiple other Denny's locations throughout different states and this one is by far the worst - our server was good though. read more

I just had coffee but the service was great and friendly. Kind of an older dennys, not to much atmosphere.

The waiter was great, nice, and supportive but we had to wait over two hours for our food, and the table next to us which got here half an hour after us got the exact same order we've been waiting for way before we did. Again, the server was amazing very nice and repeatedly checked on our food to make sure everything was OK, but I have no idea what was happening in the kitchen because it took way too long and we considered multiple times going to a different restaurant at the point. I am making this right now we are still making the choice whether to leave or not I am currently watching all of my friends and their family eat their food while me and my friend who ordered the same thing, the same dish, the same dreaded mac & cheese, and Brisket are not being fed. I feel as though this dish is cursed and it seemed delicious on the menu, but I feel like you should not order it for obvious reasons. They also barely gave us any brisket with it when we got it, it was overcooked, oh, and the most important part they had to give us steak instead of brisket. For many years I have visited Denny's for my free breakfast on Veteran's day. ( I go there at other times too). It' a great thing they do for former service men and women. This year the only offer was the Grand Slam breakfast. Fine by me. I showed the waitress my military papers as I always to. She went to get the cook and the cook said, "You need a coupon to get a free breakfast." What? I've never heard of that, so I left. I called the manager later and he had not heard of the coupon requirement either. My cynical opinion is that the cook just didn't want to make my breakfast. Next year I'll get free pancakes at IHOP. Looks like Denny's has changed their dining room into a rustic saloon look. We were a little surprised that it wasn't crowded and but it could be that we came in around the noon hour, we got up late and wanted breakfast, plus Denny's was real close to our hotel. I liked the fact that they decorated the front near the hostess counter to a Christmas theme. Their Christmas tree was beautiful. We ordered our food and I believe the waitress must have gotten busy because we never received our extra napkins or she never checked to see if we needed any refills. read more

Just typical for the breed these days - it's possible everything was fine when it was cooked but the understaffing of restaurants continues. The service itself was pretty good. The server was quick to seat us and get our drink order as well as checking back in with us to get our food order. However the food was terrible. My wife ordered the bourbon bacon burger and when she got it the meat was dripping with grease. Her Mac and cheese side was a little crispy and the cheese tasted weird like it was spoiled. My cousin got the lasagna and the picture tells it all! They way over cooked it to the point where the pasta itself was burnt and hard. It was so crispy he couldn't barely even eat much of it. However my choice was the lumberjack slam. I asked for over easy eggs and got over medium to where I could not even dip my toast in the yolk like you would with over easy. The ham was cooked a little too long to where it was hard as well as the bacon was burnt. My hash browns were a little under cooked and only a little crispy on the top. The restaurant itself looked pretty clean for the most part and the bathrooms looked clean as well. It was pretty quiet and a calming environment. We chose to go to Denny's for dinner while traveling through the area. It was late, and we didn't want a big meal. It was good, but it also reminded me why we haven't been to a Denny's in a while. They appeared to be short-staffed, with one woman seating people, serving, etc. she forgot our waters (We were actually a little parched, but it became an issue when we got the hot food.) We also wanted the salsa the dinner came with (and something else). After 5 minutes, and well into our meal, I got up to ask for it again. The meal was fine/good. The multi grain pancakes were huge. Now... I have reasonable (in my opinion) expectations of a fast casual option chain like Denny's. I don't expect gourmet or blow-my-mind food. However, this was right next to our hotel, after an extremely long travel day, and it was just out oldest son and I on a house hunting trip so this worked. Arrival into the restaurant was a precursor for the problems. We were ignored for a few minutes and then sort of greeted and then sort of shown to a booth with menus tossed on the table. The service never got better sadly. They were obviously not fully staffed for the skill set of the servers (not sure if that is normal staffing for this location or not of course), and the servers were annoyed and mad. How do I know that? Because they discussed all of their gripes with the bus boy and the cooks.... loudly.... for the entire hour and a half it took to eat and leave. There were 8 tables, two servers, one busser and two cooks that we saw. Tables fluctuated of course and the most I saw at any one time during our visit was 12. It took 35 min to get our "breakfast for dinner" options of eggs, hash browns, pancakes for the kiddo, and bacon. The food was.... fine, I guess. Not great and my omelet was very much underdone (I couldn't eat even half) and my son's "over easy" eggs came out as burnt scrambled eggs (he didn't want me to ask for new ones because he is super shy, so we did not address the issue with the server). The rest was what you expect from Denny's and was fine. The only things we finished was the greasy hash browns lol. The service is really the biggest issue. Very inappropriate (especially with multiple kiddos in the restaurant) convo between the staff members, multiple times they disappeared and came back and served food with their jackets still on and I have to wonder if they bothered to wash their hands before they came back after a break. More than that- our server basically tossed the menus and the plates and couldn't care less about what we needed or wanted or how the food was. I even had to go up to the counter and ask a new arrival for our check because the other server was just ignoring us. Next time, I would consider grabbing it to go (although I heard one of the two servers tell the busser to ignore the phone ringing constantly because "it's just someone who wants to order something to go anyways".... literally....). There were a few other options close enough to walk to, fast food and one steakhouse type place I didn't know. Next time I'd pay for the steakhouse and leave this one off the list. Food is one thing, but bad service (aka rude) is never ok. read more

From the minute we walked in the door we were regarded as interlopers as if we insulted the employees by showing up. "Where are these people coming from"? a waitress mumbled loud enough for us to hear. Another server dropped menus and setups in front of us and said, "I'm not your server." We sat there for 10 minutes and received nary a glance from a staff person until one woman looked our way and said to a colleague, "Tough. Let them wait their turn. I'm busy." It was late in the morning on Memorial Day and we were starving! Since we hadn't been to a Denny's in a long time we decided to try this spot out. When we walked into the restaurant the place was packed, but we were seated fairly quickly. The hostess was really pleasant and our waitress was nice but seemed overwhelmed. It took a while for us to get served but when we finally did order our food it came pretty quickly as well. I bought the eggs in a basket meal which was delicious and my partner got blueberry french toast which she thought was delicious as well. The other great thing about eating here is that their prices are really reasonable. Where else can two people stuff their faces for under $15 and still have some to take home? Overall, the food was great and the service was decent. We will definitely be back in the future because you can't beat Denny's when it comes to its quality and price. read more

This place is DISGUSTING. There's flies everywhere, the bathrooms have feces on the toilet seats and, of course, more flies. On the way to Ottawa, we stopped for a mid morning (9 a.m.) breakfast. No greeter at front, so we had to wait for a few minutes until a waitress noticed and came to seat us (at the time only two tables had customers). The service was slow and the food was worse than terrible. My wife and I ordered the supreme skillet and I also had coffee. The skillet meals were greasy and dried out. The cheese was dry and hard (too long under warming lights?) The over-easy eggs were hard. The potatoes and veggies were over cooked. The coffee was weak and funny tasting. Needless to say neither one of us finished our meal or coffee. This was at I90 exit 31. We have been at Danny's at exit 30 before and it was a much better experience. read more

Last time we came to this Dennys was in 2008, and not much has changed since then. We figured, lets hit Dennys since we don't have one in the city. Well it was a disappointment to say the least. I started off with coffee (mild) and it was watery and bland, then the sugar packets weren't sweet enough.I didn't even finish the cup. YUCK! My Pancakes were ok, bacon and sausage nothing to rave about, but my over medium eggs were good though! I had a taste of hubbys French Toast and it was soggy and way too much cinnamon on it. My niece had these chocolate peanut butter pancakes and the pancake that actually had the stuff on it was good but the one underneath was dry. I don't think any of us actually enjoyed our breakfast. I gotta say, I did like the pancake hush puppies or w/e its called. Those were very tasty! I will stick to IHOP- Dennys was a thumbs down for us. read more

They sat us next to a loud group of people who tried to antagonize and cause problems with someone in our group for slipping. On the night of Friday, December 14 2018 my wife and I had originally tried ordering my food at Denny's by means of Uber Eats. When the app decided not to work right, I called Denny's and was greeted by John, the manager. He informed me that if I wanted to come in and pick up my food, he could have it done in about 10-15 minutes from the time the order was placed. I proceeded to place my order via the Denny's app, then used an Uber to go to the location. When I arrived, my food was indeed ready to be picked up. Stay away!!!! I tried to order two take outs orders. The girl was so confused and couldn't put the order in. She had to make it two separate orders. I wanted to change the fries in my order, she didn't know how, so I just kept two orders of fries. I ordered waffles and was given pancakes. And they didn't give me my second order. When I went back to get my second order, they just handed me the container, no bag or forks, no ketchup or maple syrup. They didn't give my side salsa for my second meal either. I have tried it at many different places including Denny's and I must say it was one of the worst places i ever had it. I had gone to a small cafe not known for much down in Syracuse and had way better food. Ok...so I wasn't expecting anything particularly good here because it was 2 in the morning and we were staying in a mediocre hotel across the street. I was just really hungry after working a shift and then a 5-hour drive. So we went and I ordered the $2 pancakes special and a side of sausage. Our server quickly pointed out that was $6 whereas another special with pancakes, sausage, and eggs was only $4. I was really impressed that she offered me the better value without a thought about the price of the bill I would be tipping on (and a few $$$ make a difference when tipping on an inexpensive bill). We proceeded to have a lovely late dinner/early breakfast with friendly and efficient service.
