When it was time to pay at register, we pulled out a debit card and was abruptly told they do not take cards and to use the ATM machine at the end of the the hall. We had no problem doing so, but because of how abrupt the woman was, we both just looked at each other in astonishment then later discussed we will never go back. Made my first visit here on a trip to see family. This is one of those places that makes you love the food choices in the Utica/Rome area. Great food, served by a friendly staff, in a place that make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in the door. Our waitress was friendly and patient, got all 7 orders exactly right, and kept the coffee cups full throughout the meal. Food highlights were the home fries and the light & fluffy pancakes, but everything we ordered was delicious. And, I always love a place that gives you truly crispy bacon when you ask for it. Excellent breakfast joint. Been here many times and it never disappoints. Parking is a breeze as they have a private small parking lot in front and at the back of the restaurant. Customer service is always great and they are usually pretty busy but usually you can seat yourself and they will come within 5 minutes to take your order. Eggs Benedict is a must try, as well as their giambotte. Oh and since it is cash only, remember to have some cash on you! I was actually really excited to go to this place because of all the reviews and comments i've heard but...I was disappointed. Since there were around 8-9 of us, we sat at a long table in a separate room at the back of the restaurant. The seating arrangement took us away from the cute space in the main dining area and that was disappointing. The main point is that there was a lot of space in the main dining area. Putting that aside, I got an orange juice and two eggs with a side meat combo in addition to hash browns. The food was not extraordinary - it's actually pretty similar to the food I have at college (I strongly believe the food at my school is pretty amazing compared to most schools). So it wasn't anything really good. Mediocre food and ridiculously SLOW. We were up visiting Hamilton and decided to give this place a try for Saturday breakfast. It's Clinton, so you can't be picky about your options. While the food was just okay, I wouldn't have minded so much if we didn't wait 45 minutes after ordering to get it. We came at 12:30 (they close at 1:45) and there were several tables available for our party of 4. The waitress immediately came over to give us menus and take our drink order. She was very attentive, but unfortunately the kitchen doesn't seem to know what they're doing. It's your typical breakfast place; there is nothing special on the menu that would warrant such a long wait for food, yet they seemed overwhelmed. The good reviews seem to be from loyal locals or nearby students who are just happy to get off campus. Unless you're desperate, skip this place and drive a little farther out. read more

This is idiotic, made worse by the fact that they don't have an ATM on site (or if they do, there is no indication of it when you walk in) - and are in the middle of nowhere. No one carries cash anymore. Please join the 21st Century. I accept credit cards for God's sake, and I don't even have a business. There are homeless people that accept donations via Square (Hint: that's not cash). 2. In the time it took us to find cash and come back, they closed. Who closes at 1:35 pm? I didn't see hours anywhere. Maybe they were hidden under the 290 "cash only" signs. 3. There was no hostess at the front door. When we originally walked in, hoping to see an ATM somewhere, there was a hostess stand, a bunch more "Cash only" signs.... but no sign of an ATM, and no sign of a human being. Had there been a person standing there who could have said, "We're closing," we wouldn't have wasted our time going to get cash. We also could have asked her the closest place to get cash, which would have been useful information. Oh, and now I'm stuck with cash. Great. read more

The food is good here BUT my party of 7 waited 1 hour while multiple parties of 3, 4 and 5 came in and were seated 5 minutes later. When I inquired about the seating que methodology 45 minutes into the wait, they simply said the people leaving where in different areas and haven't been able to find seating. NOT logical or correct in queuing theory for a restaurant. You have to put some priority with the waiting party instead of simply waiting for two tables next to each other. So we Yelped and found Breakfast at Tiffany's- a local place, with local flavor and fabulous food! Companion ordered a delicious omelet with cheese and whole wheat toast (thick cut)! Very tasty! After moving from Boston a few years ago, my partner and I have been searching for a good Sunday brunch spot, we have found it. The food was excellent and the size of the plates were very generous. My partner had the banana nut pancakes and they were amazing (the only things he said would make it better is real maple syrup). I had the combo meal and everything was great. Furthermore, I always appreciate a brunch spot in which you never see the bottom of your coffee cup. Service was wonderful! An update to another persons review would be they still are only cash only. I mean, the register required the worker to crank it for it to work. But, they do have an ATM in the coat room now which will help you if you show up with no bills in which we did. I love bringing my family to Tiffany's for breakfast or brunch when they're visiting for Family Weekend (I'm a student at Hamilton College). It's great because it reminds me of the New Jersey diners I grew up with and is really reasonably priced. A couple of important things to know: Weekends are always busy for breakfast, so expect to wait anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour depending on the size of your group, especially if a lot of H.C. families are in town. Also, it's CASH ONLY, though there's an ATM on the premises. The wait staff is friendly but usually rushed, especially if it's busy. The restaurant atmosphere is pretty basic, but it's clean and simple and, anyway, this isn't the type of place you go for atmosphere! You can't really go wrong with the menu. My personal favorite is the Giambotti, basically an omelette with everything in it. For around $9 it really fills you up. Overall, a great value with great tasting food. read more
