Things I didn't like: * Sloppy service person - Oil/penetrate sprayed with poor control and oversprayed onto the painted wall behind. Smudges of grease also on wall and other surfaces the technician touched. He could have been a good deal more careful considering that I asked him to be careful. * As I found out after the technician was gone, the new spring was shorter than the previous spring. I suspect this will result in a shorter life as the smaller spring is carrying the same load adding more stress to the spring. It is this point that has me writing this review and giving the worst rating. These people should at least get the parts correct. * Too much spring tension. I adjusted later because the technician had trouble understanding why the door would not close all the way. * Overpriced. My bad and a risk I understood. They provided a range of prices for the springs and then gouged me. I could have saved about $100 going with one of the places I called earlier that provided a firm quote but could not respond as quickly. * The technician wore no eye safety gear. This did not occur to me at the time but it is a big deal in the garage door repair online community. If the guy got hurt on my property I have liability. Stupid for him. Stupid for me. So why not call them back and have them put in the right spring? Who am I to argue with the professionals? I can't recall the last time a home service business took pride in their work and redid work that cost them time and money. Why argue with them and take on that stress? By watching the repair, I learned how to do the repair. The online community provides excellent advice and instructions on how to do it yourself. The parts are not that expensive and easy to find. I now have spare parts and tools on order to have on hand next time a spring breaks.

I quietly waited in the lobby's sitting area for them to finish, but was able to overhear most of the conversation because the garage door display they were working with was not far from where I was sitting. The couple's issue was that 1 of the 2 doors on their garage was broken, and needed to be replaced, but the couple had no idea what size their door actually was. I was really impressed with the way she helped them. The couple had already spoken with multiple garage door businesses, and another manufacturer that had not been able to solve their problem. Norine did that for them--without sending them home to re-measure. Even though a sale was not at all immediately obvious, she took time to focus on them and give them what they needed. Most of the time I see situations like that, it's "on to the next one," and that would have been especially easy with me sitting in the lobby so obviously waiting to speak to her. When they were finished, I got the same great service I'd witnessed. I didn't have a major project for her, just a simple question pertaining to an inexpensive garage door opener. We were told of other components that were in need of replacement at a substantial additional cost. The Lifetime Warranty on the springs is only honored if you accept the additional suggested repairs. There is a flat charge if you decide not to use their services so you are in essence paying for the estimate. In all fairness,I believe the workers are well trained and competent but the companies businesses model and upselling of service makes me question the value.

Only 4 stars because while on the phone I asked a price for spring replacements to which I was told they range from about $94-394 per spring and they usually replace both at the same time. I was shocked when the technician showed up, did his inspection (he was very professional and knowledgeable), and then informed me they only have one spring available which happens to the be one at the top of the price range and there were no other options. He gave me quotes ranging from $900 up to $1900 for other various improvements. I was disappointed because I know pricing for this fix can be much lower but was in a pinch to get it fixed today and also didn't want to build the $85 service fee into potentially having someone else come look at it. Again, the service is great and the people are friendly but shop around if you have the time because I feel like I was mislead into having options when really there were none.
