This was my favorite Marshalls for a long time and don't get me wrong, i will come back but i need l to let know that I was checked out by this young guy on cashier 7 around closing time past 9ish and the first thing he asked was if I preferred Spanish or English. Nothing wrong with that because I speak both languages but this is the first time in my enite life someone asks me this at a store or anywhere else. My last name is Russian, the color of my skin is WAYYYYYY lighter tfan this man. i did not say anythig back to him because my daughter was with me and I had to show her how to ignore ignorance. Not only that but he put a high pressure on me singing up for your credit card. NOT COOL!!! Check your staff Marshalls!! The manager here is terrible. He's like a vulture, constantly hounding customers to sign up for the credit card, even after the cashier already asked. If people say no, that means no! I literally never want to sign up for the credit card because of this man. So rude and unprofessional. Never shopping at this Marshalls again. Stop trying to take advantage of people. read more

It's a nice store with lots of travel related stuff and of course, dress, clothes etc. also has some furniture and cooking bathroom stuff. Price is good. Huge parking lot which is a big plus. read more

They usually have a bigger selection than other stores in the surrounding area. I'm typically at Marshall's or TJ Maxx browsing through clothing, shoes, and accessories. I recently was hooked with their shampoos and conditioners and have stopped using the drug-store brands. However, I was on the mission to search for pillows and bed sheets. So how difficult could this mission be? Purchasing the pillows was easy. I found two (2) of the most inexpensive kinds. Before heading to the register, hubby and I decided to take a serious look at the bed sheets. I randomly spotted an Italian-made bed sheets for $150, with a MSRP of $375! Wow, who would own these luxury bed sheets? Someone from the Royalty family? A princess from Genovia? Or a high-maintenance celebrity? Anyways, I think I would want to look at what Target or Bed, Bath, and Beyond has to offer? The $150 bed sheets might be the exception to the rule in a discounted store (considering it was more than 50% discount). I wasn't too thrilled with the $50 Ralph Lauren options, either. Well, that mission would be needed to be accomplished by the end of the week when my parents are in town and spending the next five (5) months with us at our tiny 600-sq ft. apartment. I spent all of my gift cards that I exchanged with my Capital One credit reward points at this time, but it wouldn't be long until I receive another one in my mailbox. This Marshall's is located at the Riverfront Shopping Plaza, on the northwest corner of Fullerton and Wood. There's a plenty of customer parking, but there's no CTA El stations within walking distance. The CTA 74 (Fullerton) bus is the only mode of public transportation. Nevertheless, the CTA #74 eastbound bus can take you to the CTA Fullerton Brown/Red/Purple Line station. read more

I've been to this place couple of times. It is ok, a regular Marshalls. Nothing specific.

I am a weekly shopper at Marshalls, I love shopping at Marshalls but this by far is the worst location anyone can go to. I was purchasing a damaged blanket that was marked down to $8(yes I know, you get what you pay for but even though it had a few holes I couldn't say no to a $8 Mickey Mouse blanket). Once I was checking out at the cash register the cashier refused to honor the marked down price and was trying to make me pay full price for a blanket that was clearly damaged. Even after pointing out the couple of visible holes and the pulled out strings the rep called out her manager just to go off on me that I "must have switched the price tag" on the damaged blanket. I refuse to go back to this location, I would understand if the blanket was in perfect condition I would be more than happy to pay full price, but the embarrassment that the manager made me go through was very uncalled for and uncomfortable even after I suggested they go through the cameras they refused to acknowledge anything I had to say. I will definitely stay shopping at the canal location by my home. read more

Stopped by since I got a gift and I came to exchange it, and while there I also got a travel mug. It takes time to look around since some good things are here and some there, for the price they offer it's ok to spend time to look around. The store was clean and a bit organized. As for the service I don't have much to say other than the lady at the register was friendly and was able to do the exchange with someones help. They do have plenty of inexpensive things to consider. Liked the store so I will stop by during the week when it is not so busy. read more

The employees here are always so friendly and quick at check out. I live in the area and go here often. The store itself doesn't have a huge selection compared to other Marshall's/ TJ Maxx, but parking is always easy and the staff at this location are always pleasant. read more

I went to this store today and was about to use the restroom when the janitor employee saw me and he told me that I couldn't use one of the two restrooms, who was empty at the time, because he was cleaning them. I told him that there was an empty restroom that I can use it, and proceeded to the restroom when he he put his hands on me and started to push me away from the restroom. When I spoke to the manager about it, she didn't do anything about it, she didn't call him to talk to him and didn't check the security cameras neither. I didn't call the cops on them, because I didn't want to cause a scene, but I can't believe they have an employee who behave that way. read more

I don't know why I've never been to a Marshall's in Chicago, I love the deals! I just figured the store would be a mess and the crowds unbearable. Sure, it's not the cleanest store I've ever been in, but they actually clean the departments so fast my hat and gloves that were hanging when I was trying on sports coats was "cleaned" by an ambitious worker and not stolen like I thought! The checker was super understanding when I inquired about them as well. And told me to add some color to the black and grey theme I've apparently got going on. No such luck this time! I came out with a beautiful dark grey suit jacket by Calvin Klein for an incredible price! I needed a new belt and shoes for work as well, both black! The women's sections are much larger than the men's clothes and shoes sections, but really that's to be expected. Don't fear the Marshall's! Solid three and a half stars. read more

They have a good variety of items in the store, and it is usually fairly clean. The issue I have is with a particular fitting room attendant. I was there today around 3 PM, and the fitting room attendant was an older woman who was very rude and shamed me for not using a part and having more than 10 items. I'm the kind of person who always puts their items back on the hanger buttons and zippers them so they are ready to go back on the floor immediately. She judged me for not taking all of the items I had tried on, which turned me off from buying any of the items I was thinking about purchasing. She made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and this is not the first time I have had this type of interaction with this woman. I would think that they would encourage people to try on as many items as they would like In hopes of making a big sale. read more

You know, I don't know why, but I was never really a Marshall's fan...until now! I needed to by some new work pants and couldn't find what I wanted at Kohl's. They had a very limited selection. -Meaning only one or two brands to choose from, neither of which worked for my body type. What I like about Marshalls is that you are getting a wide variety of some really "expensive" brand name stuff at the same prices as other discount retailers like Kohl's or other places. In this instance, actually cheaper than my beloved Kohl's (which I didn't think possible)! I scored some Anne Klein and The Limited pants (each $17) and some cute dresses too, including one that channeled Snooki (in a cuter, classier way lol) and a Calvin Klein one too, each about $30. So, I'm converted. I'm gonna start checking out Marshalls and it's sister store, TJ Maxx, more regularly. I also find I really like their athletic section. Really, really cute Nike, Adidas etc. clothing for super cheap. I have this whole selection now of super cute. quality athletic gear, all of which I scored at Marshalls! read more

I came here last week with the boyfriend to get some kitchen stuff. They had a wide selection, but it was quite unorganized. Before I got to the kitchen area, I had to check out the shoe section. I'm a woman. Of course I have to check out the shoes! While he was perusing around, I noticed that the women's section was a bit messy as well. When we left to check out, they had a notice that said they couldn't put anything on layaway or on hold anymore. Jeez, how unfortunate. Even the area where they put the items on hold was unorganized. Prices are affordable and vary from clearance to high end. I can always find a great deal! I hate discount shopping. I value a good deal, but I don't have the patience to search through endless racks of clothing to find the good deals. I've always thought this store was kind of gross too. It's dirty and dusty and the clothing that they have wasn't special enough to wander around in musty smell of this store. However, I went in this past weekend with some friends and discovered something that I never thought of buying at Marshall's...workout wear!! Holy hell! I have a real problem buying regular priced workout clothes because I feel that it's really overpriced for something that is going to get it all sweaty and disgusting. I went on a shopping spree at Marshall's! I was able to get some shorts and tanks for the summer and all the items that I bought were each under $15. Now that's what I call a deal! :) read more

If you blindfolded me and asked me where I was I would've told you I was in a bar. Why you ask? Well because of the foul vomit smell that permeated the WHOLE store. I honestly couldn't get away from it and it was god awful. I really couldn't stand it so I couldn't bare to even attempt to look through the racks of clothes. I think it'll be a long time before I go back. Oh also, the parking lot was a hot mess because it seemed like everyone was fighting for the same spot. As I said in my review for Marshall's twin brother, TJ Maxx, located directly across the street, the Marshall's is generally cleaner, better managed and organized. Smart shoppers start at one of the stores and then work their way across the street to the other one. I stand by my theory that now, more than ever, considering the two stores are owned by the same company, that they're shuttling the merchandise between the two stores in efforts to keep inventory "fresh" (hard to do with last season's fashions) until somebody finally buys all this stuff. Great values to be found if you're willing to work for them, including the endless struggle that is the parking lot. read more

Why? because I left with nearly a week's supply of those 3 essentials for the same price as getting maybe one overpriced sock on Clark St. Do I grant that its loud, most products have clearly been opened or tampered with, and the cashier mumbling "have a nice day" under her breath only because of a contractual obligation to do so throws you a bit off? Yes, I grant all of these things. However, I will give you my next month's salary if a friend/date/random person on the street notices you and says "those socks are clearly from the discount rack at Marshall's, I now think less of you" To add to Morgan Freeman's line in Shawshank "Honestly, who really looks at a man's shoes, t-shirts, socks, and underwear?" read more

This place is always a hot mess. Nothing is organized, everything is always strewn everywhere. It's clear that staff doesn't seem to care about if stuff is put back where it belongs. I get it, customers make messes, and they don't put stuff back....but still, there should be staff attempting to control some of the chaos. And their bathroom is never clean! I prefer to go to TJ Maxx, where they make a much better attempt to keep everything clean and organized. read more

Jeez what happened? I walked into this Marshall's on a Thursday after work and it looked like it had been through war. Clothes were hanging draped over racks, abandoned carts filled with clothes and other merchandise, mostly empty shelves in the home goods section. Employees seemed overwhelmed by the chaos. In general, I've had good luck at this store.....got a $350 Lucky brand leather jacket for like $150, bought a nice suit once for a little over $100, regularly find good dress shirts, ties, socks and underwear. Sometimes the racks can be a little messy, but it's VASTLY improved over a few years ago. Comparisons to TJMaxx across the street are inevitable, but I've never found anything at TJ's, their selection and store in general is much smaller. Typical downsides: yes, you're gonna have to go through racks and racks and racks of disorganized clothing, particularly if you're looking for pants or non-dress shirts (the dress shirts and some other things are well-organized). Do check the size on the clothing TAG (not the price tag, and definitely not the rack, or the hanger). Yep, the parking lot gets a lil crowded (it's the north side of Chicago), but at least they have one, and it's large. Probably the best place for new, name-brand bargains. read more

A few days ago,I was doing some hardcore shopping for my brand new queen size mattress and box spring that is coming for my brand new bed frame I purchased last weekend.I was talking to this very social female employee about getting new queen sized pillows,mattress cover,and linen bed sheets.She seemed to be very knowledgeable to a certain extent about these things.I asked her specifically for the right price of their more affordable queen size mattress cover.The price she told me it was for the one I chose to buy was substantially lower than the actual real price tag that was on the mattress cover.Of course I found this out after our two or more hours conversation ended.I found out the real price at the cash register.She gave a bad recommendation for which pillow to buy as well.Stay away from the so-called "Miracle Bamboo" pillow,despite the fact that it really does have the best neck support I have ever experienced.This pillow is also infinitely toxic with it's bamboo smell,talking about take the cover off of it for a few hours daily for a few weeks before the smell is totally gone before using it.It's one of those "As Seen On TV" products that's infinitely overhyped usually.She still at least seems to be a decent enough employee though. read more

Men's department is one of the largest I've seen for a discounter. So is the beauty section, where I recently bought a flat iron and had almost 30 different ones to choose from. read more
