I stopped by while on vacation. I liked the store layout, which seemed a little different and much cleaner than the other Ross stores I have visited around the country. I picked up several pairs of shoes and some cologne. Lucky me, we lucked out on the treasure hunt. The service was nice and friendly. This Ross is full of any kind of good stuff. I love to go there, always leave at least $ 100. The store is clean, people friendly, toys are still in boxes, not on the floor. I've been a fan of this Ross Dress for Less since it was a little farther down the road from where I live, over on Broadway and Diversey. Recently when I went inside that original location and saw that it was half-empty, I got extremely worried that there wouldn't be a Ross Dress for Less so close to my home. Fortunately they were just getting ready to move into this new, glorious location over at Diversey and Clark! It looks absolutely gorgeous in here, by the way, and the organization is much, much better. The staff is cheerful, there's a guard at the door (which confuses me, because, y'all, the prices here are so low. Come on. Stop stealing things!). There's not much more for me to say except that there's nowhere else you can get glorious gift bags for $1.99. I'm coming back here forever and ever and don't ever almost leave me again! read more

If you ever wanted to go to a place that made you feel like a criminal, this might be the place. The level of security mechanisms they add to every item of clothing and shoes is ridiculous. I have been to this location two other times and I am still astonished with the level of theft prevention in place. During this visit I came to the store to find a pair of workout shoes and maybe some new workout clothes. I could not even put my right foot into any of the shoes because they put the security sensor on the top of the right shoes so you cannot adjust the strings to allow you to slide your foot into the shoe. I literally spent almost 5 minutes getting my right foot into one pair of shoes to see how they felt. Once you get your feet into the shoes they only allow you a 4 inch width to stand in the shoe because they put a zip tie type of mechanism into the shoe to prevent you from actually walking in the shoe. It was so ridiculous that I ended up going to Amazon to buy the exact pair of shoes while in the store. I did score a lot of affordable workout clothes. I can only see myself stopping my Ross for affordable workout clothes or last minute basic clothing apparel. read more

I actually like this store not so much for clothes to be honest (just not my style) but for other stuff like shoes, purses, beauty products, home goods and kids toys. You can find a lot of brand names like Coach (got great shoes for $40), Bebe, Michel Corse, Calvin Klein. This is my store to go to when I need things like shampoo or perfume. I can always find what I'm looking for and more for a great bargain. Last year I bought 2 memory foam pillows ($20 each) and I love them. Also, I got all of my window curtain rods and curtains there too and they were much cheaper than any other store I've been to. Lately they started having all kinds of vitamins (which I am big fan of) and protein shakes. Whenever I go there go get one thing I end up finding like 10 other.... dangerous place for me. read more

Honestly, this store is really a hit or miss. It is a good amount of space but most of the time they do not have that many products and it can look very empty. You really have to come often to find those nice brands as they will go pretty quickly. My favorite finds are in the shoes and home sections, I can usually find something I like there. read more

ROSS Dress for Less is right across the street from me. That's DANGEROUS! LOL Seriously tho, this store is everything to me. I've bought decor, pillows, holiday gifts, linens and towels, and tons and tons of clothes which I ALWAYS receive compliments on. Shoe department has a good selection, too! I've bought ties and belts. Oh, and a Michael Kors backpack. If you can't find something to buy at ROSS you must not need it. It's my "go to" for everything. And least I now forget the friendly and professional staff who are ALWAYS there to help me. ROSS is the best thing that has ever happened to Uptown! What a total dump this place is. This store is messy and just filled with crap. There are so many racks that it's a workout just to get around this dump. If you have to speak to an employee you can tell they hate this dive as much as anyone else. I truly despise all these discount store like Ross, TJ Maxx or Marshall's. read more

This has got to be the most unprofessional store I have ever entered. First of all, they never have enough cashiers available for the line of consumers. To make matters worse, the ones they do have act as if they have no sense. They carry on conversations with each other as if they are at home. I've heard inappropriate language while moving at a turtle's pace because they are so involved with their non-business related conversations. It's utterly pathetic and a complete embarrassment. I can't believe that management has not noticed this behavior and made corrections. read more

So they addressed the issue of staff not being at he registers, but the workers found a work-around. Now they all pretend to be sorting things around the register in order to avoid interacting with customers. They're stationed there, as if the company or manager made a protocol change that people not working in the back or on the floor should be at the registers, but now the workers at the registers keep pretending to look busy as 12 or more people pile up at one "open" register. Per usual, customers (including myself) end up walking out and going to Target one block away. The management needs to change the rule from "at a register" to "at an open register helping customers". I've never seen 4 people at registers trying to hard to fake busywork. read more

Today was the first time I was in this store because I was hunting around Uptown for curtains. While this place did have some selections, it wasn't much. Still, it gave me an opportunity to check things out. I liked seeing all of the men's clothing options, like shoes, boots and dress shirts. Also thought they had a home decor section. The reason I'm rating this 4 stars is because it felt sort of cramped. It just felt like people were on top of one another. Also, some of the displays were a bit disorganized. To be fair, it was a Saturday with lots of shoppers - around the holidays no less. I did appreciate seeing a security guard at a podium immediately upon walking through the second floor doors. Great selection of household items of many types. Huge variety of women's and kids clothes and accessories. The men's section does not have as much selection but has a pretty decent amount to choose from. I found the prices on designer clothes to be amazing, I also found the staff especially helpful and patient. They have to be patient dealing with all kinds of challenging customers around there. TL;DR - much much smaller than loop location - not much for clothes - much cleaner and better organized than loop - had great home goods section I am definitely a self proclaimed baller, but I do ball on a budget. I frequent the downtown Ross but I had saw a new one opened. Because it was new I had really high hopes. My hopes were quickly met with disappointment. There were maybe 6 pair of pants in my size (12) and not much selection. A lot of the styles were really dated as well. The one thing this store does way better than down town is cleanliness. The store looked clean and there wasn't anything strewn across the floor and what have you. They also had a pretty good home section. Quiet a few nice pieces of furniture as well. All in all, I would say I will keep the downtown location as my main and maybe will occasionally stop by this one. read more

Finally stopped by this location. It is ok. All the sections aside from clothing is scanty. Was disappointed that didnt have much in the beauty, bath and body and clothing sections. May stick to the down town location. But what this has over that is parking. read more

Be forewarned: I went in this new Ross "just to look" and came back out with a cart full of stuff for my new apartment. Prices for the home department are slightly less than Marshalls/TJ Maxx. Perhaps slightly lower quality, but good enough for the price. My haul included a set of blackout curtains $16.99, couple decorative pillows $8.99 and $10.99, shower hooks $4.99, bathroom caddy $8.99 and 600 ct cotton sheets in queen size $39.99. Also spotted were full length mirrors under $50. They're a cheaper lightweight material, but has the look of more expensive pieces. Store is very neat and checkout was quick and easy. I was too engaged in home goods to check out the rest of the selection, but prices are tough to bet! read more

Brand new store in Uptown. Had a decent selection of clothes and household items as well as everything else you'd expect in a Ross store (luggage, perfumes, snacks). Everyone was friendly and helpful although opening day glitch shut down the elevator and escalator at the same time. Store is clean and well lit. Parking is available under the store and there appears to be plenty but also a short walk to the Wilson red line stop and the 36 / 78 / 151 buses all stop nearby. read more

Bad customer service. Was quoted $50 for a jacket that was missing a tag and I placed on hold so I could do more shopping. When I came back to pick it up, they decided the jacket was too nice and it was $90 instead. I didn't get a "sorry for the misunderstanding" or anything. I have never experienced the following issue before in many years of shopping experiences...I bought a pair of shoes at this location. They seemed ok to walk in at the store. I wore them out naturally because they are shoes. After awhile the top of my right foot hurt. I spoke to my friends and they said that they will probably take them back. They didnt take them back. Not even a gift certificate which I requested. The woman at the check out counter inspected the bottom of the shoes too. I got a glare. Also this employee was so rude. When I first walked up to her I said hi and smiled and I got a glare. A bit of attitude here. I told her that I will no longer shop at the store because of their return policy. She didn't seem to even care. Also please note that I will spend my hard earned money on quality merchandise not seconds anymore. These shoes were not sewn right apparently. The shouldn't be making my foot hurt. Also I am out of $45 which to me is a lot of money for shoes worn only once. read more

I was really excited when this was moving into the neighborhood, but after three visits I will not return. Men's clothes is very picked over and no selection, but more then that if management can't find a courteous and pleasant cashier then they should find another job. I dont like the setup of this Ross store. Its nice they offer a parking lot but once you walk in theres a huge escalator to deal with. The actual selection is minimal compared to other stores. It doesnt seem worth the effort to bother with this place. read more
