Of all of the stores in this vein, I do believe that Marshall's is generally the best. Their products are great, and reasonably priced- and their clearance section is ALWAYS on point. I've found some real beauty gems in the clearance aisle. As a former Sephora BA... I'll leave it at that. ;) The service at this Marshall's was wonderful. The cashier Gwen helped me through a really annoying issue with my Apple Pay- she was so patient with me and so helpful! When I am in the need of anything that ranges to clothes, home furnishings, bed/bath products, luggage, and anything else, "Marshalls" in my go-to store. They always carry a decent amount of new items at significantly lower prices than what you'd find at a name brand store. This takes me on a trip to Citrus Heights (located on Greenback Lane near Sunrise Blvd) in the heart of the Marketplace At Birdcage shopping area where this part of town has a quite a bit of retail businesses, restaurants, and other various stores to choose from. Marshalls who is owned by the TJX Companies is also affiliated with two other major retailers, HomeGoods and TJ Maxx. They are one of the biggest off-price departments stores in the United States as well as locations in Canada and overseas in Europe. As far as the Citrus Heights store, the parking can get quite crowded; especially during the busier shopping days. And when you have a nearby "Five Below" and "Skechers Outlet", it can be a zoo with a lot of car and foot traffic. The layout of this store is bright, spacious, and inviting. During the numerous times I've visited, they have always been relatively busy with a decent amount of staff members working the registers. Everything is laid out accordingly; mens/womens/childrens apparel, luggage, home products (comforters, sheets, pillows, kitchenware, bath, candles), beauty, shoes, and small furniture pieces. They also offer dedicated fitting rooms for men and women as well as a public restroom at the rear right of the building. During my most recent visit, I picked up quite a bit of nice mens items including work pants (for $17), Adidas athletic socks ($5 for a 3-pack), mens body spray (for $7), a button-down dress shirt (for $13), and a small gym bag (for $10). I think shopping here for so many years at various locations is a proven fact that your money goes a long way. Service isn't the best as I've had to hunt down an employee for any questions. Overall, the experience here is not amazing but not awful. With that said and done, I am giving the Citrus Heights "Marshalls" location an average three star rating. read more

I would give it a ZERO if I could. Such a shame, bc I LOVE Marshall's, but I will never return after the encounter I had tonight. First off, I was with my FOUR YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. It was 9:25, and they were closing at 9:30. Totally get that customers need to make their way to the register. As my daughter and I were literally halfway to the register I get stopped by a "manager named Jamie" and she says "I suggest you get to the register before we close them" this really rubbed me the wrong way bc that sounded more like a threat than a polite "Hey we are closing in a few, please make your way up" so I ignored her. Then she proceeds to ask me (as I'm WALKING) "Are you going to check out?" I replied "I heard you" then she gets this attitude and responds "Well I wasn't sure because you didn't acknowledge me" I was legit in shock bc what is this woman's problem?? I would have been checked out by 9:30 if she wasn't harassing us! As a matter of fact, according to my receipt, I WAS out by 9:31. Anyway, I felt sooo rushed by her and felt the tension from her that i placed some items we didn't want to purchase down on the bottom of a shelf by checkout (again, not something I'd usually do, but we were out of time, and it was literally only 2 items) and she comes storming up to me and my poor daughter so angry and with sooo much attitude "So you're not going to get those things that you just put on our ground?!" Just WOWWWW..... I have been a store manager in retail and I get that go-backs suck, but at this point she was way out of line and harassing us! Just let us leave in peace!! I told her "No, we do not want those items and felt rushed by you. I really appreciate your professionalism" and walked away as she continued to make smart ass remarks like "Yep! You're welcome!" I made it to the register and was so uncomfortable at this point. The cashier was a complete sweetheart and tried to turn the mood around and asked if we had a good time shopping, etc. meanwhile, this crazy manager is standing by the exit door talking about me and giving me what felt like a freaking death stare. I won't even lie, on my way out I told her she was crazy and did allllllll that just for one minute over 9:30. When I was a manager in retail, I'd sacrifice anything for the sale, let alone ONE minute past closing. I live right around the corner from this location but I will never come back. People will forget what you say, but they will never ever forget how you made them feel. I am SO livid she spoke to me this way in front of my CHILD, whom by the way, I took there to shop for a "girls night". What a sad ending. HORRIBLE customer service. Marshalls is an amazing store with deals on both name brand and designer brands anywhere from 20% to 60% less than you'd find at a department store! I love shopping here, since they change out there merchandise so often to bring in something new several times a week, when you see something you like snag it up cuz chances are you won't see that cute dress or purse or bedding set again! This is a great place if your shopping for gifts since they have so many unique gift ideas for the home, to wear, for children such as a car to zoom around in or rocking horse, etc! Not to mention the gift card can be used at Home Goods, TJMaxx or here at Marshalls since they're owned by the same company! I would highly recommend stopping into this location here in Citrus Heights, yesterday I found a hotel New York Luxury Embossed Plaid, Twin Size, Deep Pocket and Wrinkle Free 4 Piece Sheet Set for only $14.99 for my new bed! The sheets felt like I was sleeping on hotel sheets, the material is just so soft and very comfortable, it wasn't long before I drifted off into a slumber! I can see why they call them Luxury sheets! I also purchased a Loft 10 hook overdoor rack by Richards to hang my diaper bag and purse for get this, only $6.99 and so far it works great and seems to be of great quality! Lastly I purchased for $5.99 Peak On The Go Trail Mixes from GourmetNut in the flavor Feel good which had a nice healthy assortment of dried fruit, nuts, chick peas and pumpkin seeds to take as a snack and it taste ok, but I prefer the taste of their delicious Goji Power Up Trail mix they make! read more

I actually did like this store, however, I went there today(during the covid pandemic), and they are NOT enforcing the state law requiring people to wear masks. I saw probably about 30 people in there without masks. I think that this shows what kind of company they are, and they clearly do not respect their employees enough to protect them from other people not wearing masks. I have been to many other stores/services since masks have been required, and all of the other ones turn people away and require them to wear a mask. Been shopping at this Marshall's for the past 13-15 years. Service is always great and well organized. I purchased here T-shirts, iPhone cases shoes and hats and other goodies. Prices are reasonable and many times you can score an item at a bargain price. The clothes are quality name brand they also have shoes and accessories as well as household items. The dressing rooms are clean and well maintained . They have plenty of cashiers and associates available to assist customers and for checkout. I have had both positive and negative experiences at this location. Mostly positive than negative. The cashiers are often very friendly. Iman rung me up a few days ago and she was genuinely kind and offered welcoming and efficient service. There was even a young African American girl in the fitting room who was extremely bubbly and also gave great customer service. However, on a different occasion fitting room associate, Victoria was beyond rude. I had 8 items to try on (no purse I should add) and she insisted that I hand her each item to count one by one. The two people before me who had 10+ items she counted them in their own hand and gave them number. After she slowly counted my items one by one- I stayed to watch how she counted the other peoples items behind me each with 10+ items. She did not make them hand her their items one-by-one. She counted in their hand and gave them a number. I finally went to my fitting room and when leaving she did the same told me she needed me to hand the items to her one-by-one to count. She then asked me to shake out my own clothes. I had on my own jean jacket and she asked me if it was mine. Victoria's behavior was appalling. She assumed I would steal before I entered and then attempted to accuse me of it upon leaving. Either her own bias led her to behave above the law or she was directed to behave this way. Either way I will not tolerate being criminalized while spending my hard earned money (made by teaching the children of America). read more

Have been a loyal Marshalls TJMAXX and Homegoods customer for many years now. But I was recently in this store and saw a maskless woman sitting in one of the chairs that was for sale chatting away on her cell phone blatantly without a mask. So I immediately headed for the exit and asked the manager on the way out if she would please ask the woman to put on a mask. The manager said that they are not allowed to enforce the mask policy. I told her that I did not ask her to enforce it, to please ask that she put one on. This company is putting the safety of their customers at risk while allowing the covidiots to ignore the rules. I shop at Nugget now because they enforce the mask rule and no longer shop at Raleys because they also have this corporate policy. So enter at your own risk. The sign on the door stating that masks are required is false and misleading. read more

She needs to retire and stay home if she keeps snapping at people who push their carts a bit "too close to the racks". I LOVE shopping at Marshall's, TJ Max and Ross. I LOVE a good bargain. I love it even more when I'm in Citrus Heights visiting my mom and sis. For some reason, the stores in the 916 (specifically Citrus Heights and Roseville ares) are cleaner, the quality of their items better and the employees are more polished than the ones in the bay area. Seriously. I've found some good stuff (or some good loot as I call them) at this particular Marshall's, BUT I have never found a pair of shoes (hence less 2 stars). They have aisles and aisles of shoes and I find myself going through each one. I've done this routine so many times and I never learn!! I just have to realize that I will never 't find that size 5 or 5.5 shoe! Of all the times I've gone to this store (and that's a lot of times) and gone through my aisle routine, I've only found like 2 pairs of shoes in size 5.5 (and they were shoes I didn't want). Seems the smallest size they order is size 6. Sucks! May be I should write their store manager to stop discriminating against the "cinderella" feet people! ha! read more

The biggest problems with Marshalls is that A) Sure they have "name brand" clothes, but it's a poorer quality and/or something is generally wrong with the garment. B) They treat you like you're a going to steal when you enter and exit the dressing room area, it honestly offensive- that alone, makes me shop at Target and Kohl's more. I did mention it to the lady recounting my garments, she apologized, i get it they make her do it, but seriously they have alarm tags on the cheaply made garments. If I could give a zero stars I would they are completely nosey and rude I had one black young girl and a old white lady on the stores speaker phone yelling out my business about my vehicle over the loud speaker and creating a crowed around my car. They need to really look into who they have working here and running this place the manager was calling me so types of names and calling the cops at the same time while she was on the phone with them and I had my 3 year old son with me AND I'M PREGNANT. I'm giving this Marshall's 4/5 stars based on the manager (Dale or Gale) fixing an issue. One of the cashiers didn't take a sensor off an item, it didn't prompt upon exiting. I only found this out at home. As frustrating as that was, I had called in and spoke to the assistant manager and it was handled very well. She actually had a $10 gift card ready for me when I came in with the item. Overall this Marshall's is not too bad, although some of the cashiers are surprisingly rude for no apparent reason. Perhaps a little more training in customer service, and checking clothes for sensors instead of speaking to your fellow employees in a language I do not understand. You also cannot beat their prices. Will never go back to this store, the manager is so rude and disrespectful has no respect for customers. My mother and I went to do some shopping and when we go shopping we spend more than we should. So my mom find these cute shoes and the price showed $24.99 crossed off and $20 for today's deal, so many of those shoes were right under neath the price. We decided to take them nice shoes for $20 can't go wrong with that. After our cart was full we head over to the cashier, Amanda rings us up and the shoes shoes showed up at $24.99 we told her the sign says it's for $20 and the name was matching the box. Amanda goes and gets who I think is the manager since she was going to decide to match the price for what it was displaying. No, she said one number was off and that it was mistake price. I told her why would u put 15+ of those same shoes right underneath that price and why did the sign match the shoe. She told me her associate move items around. Didn't apologize didn't want hear what I had to say. So i told her she needs to start pricing thing currently since that is false advertising. She ignored me and said she had customers to help. Umm excuse me I am a customer!! Told her she giving me the worst customer service. Ignored me again and " no I am not" I didn't buy shoes.
