Marshall's FTW! This particular Marshall's is waaay out of my geographic acceptability range, but I was visiting Frederick last weekend with some friends. These friends, despite having been vaccinated for some time, are still skittish eating indoors and had reserved a lot of outdoor tables. Unfortunately, April weather didn't care that we were trying to social distance. I was freezing my toes off the first night we were in town and had dinner outside. The next day I knew I had to get to a store and buy more acceptable clothing for eating outside. A few of us ubered to Marshall's. Initially I was worried because Marshall's had cleared almost all of their cold weather clothes and shoes away. My initial recon didn't yield much in the way of options. Fortunately, a deeper dive allowed me to discover some fancy-ish joggers and a high necked top that would provide more warmth than anything I'd packed. All told, my total $$$ spent was $48 and that included the Uber. Glad that Marshall's is a staple in most cities and towns. It comes in super handy! read more

Marshalls - Department Stores Near Me - Frederick, Maryland

This was my first time visiting a clothing store during the pandemic and it did not disappoint. They had a person at the main entrance manning a station that offered hand sanitizer/wipes/etc for all customers that entered their establishment. Their were plenty of markers throughout the store that emphasized social distancing and reduce foot traffic in between aisles. I didn't see many, if any, staff throughout the store to keep an eye on customers if they needed help/make sure everyone was following their store and COVID-19 policies. The staff that were present were helpful, friendly, and wore masks regardless of where they were stationed to work. All in all, it was not a stressful experience shopping here and I get quite comfortable with the level of attention and detail made by the store to make their customers feel safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. read more

Something is not right, I am a woman of color and would not recommend black women go in here. I hate this store, each and everytime I go in here the workers follow me around pretending to be hanging cloths and straightening. I am certain this is what they do because one employee will be the only ONE employee in the store hanging cloths and straightening in the aisles I am in. I leave one aisle they leave, I go down an aisle they go down the same aisle. They even reach in the same space while I'm shopping I have told two different employees on at least two separate occasions that I am uncomfortable with them following me around and asked if I can shop in peace but each time I go they do it aggressively. It is very disturbing and unsettling. Today will be my last time going in there. I like to shop in peace. read more

Great deals, selection and service. Off Rte. 15, plenty of parking and right next to Wegman's, Lowe's etc. Check out clearance sections for an occasional steal. This is one of my favorite stores to stock up on bras/panties when I want to save $$$. Also love their selection of upscale toiletries. They carry Bliss, Philosophy, etc., at a fraction of Sephora and/or mall prices. read more

The new Marshalls is clean, well-stocked, and organized. Not as big as some Marshalls, but you can definitely find great shoes and clothes at bargain prices. The shoe department is large. I wish they had more accessories (jewelry, especially) and toys (there are some, but not many). read more

Love shopping here as there's different merchandise most every week. This store is very safety minded in these Covid times and the dressing rooms are closed. At first I was hesitant to purchase items I could not try on, but have since gotten over it. This is the new normal so save your receipts! I have had no problems returning items with a receipt and attached tags. The sales staff is always friendly and accommodating. read more

The website said they opened at 8 but when we got here at 9:30 they still weren't open. Good selection but there are so many more girl clothes than boy clothes. Most clothes are very ugly and hard to find just a plain cute shirt. read more

I think this place probably has a lot of fake items. I purchased two sweaters and a pajama top allegedly top brands but turns out everything I bought is 100% acrylic - even though labeled otherwise-and unwearable. I can't return it so I'm just giving it to Goodwill. I think these are fake labels read more

Have been to this location a handful of times and disappointed every time. Will not try again. I have never encountered such rude employees. I'm glad to see by previous reviews that I'm not the only one. There has been at LEAST one negative encounter during each trip. A district manager needs to follow up with this store and perhaps provide training to the staff on customer service/ care. This is the only Marshalls location that I have ever encountered such poor/ RUDE service. read more

Looking at the review from 11/23/12, none of it s true, they have no one by the name of Laura & none of the managers names is Brice either. I love Marshalls in Frederick and it is the best Marshalls in Maryland, the manager Tammy M is very outgoing and friendly. I shop here 3 - 4 times a week & love it!!!!! read more

I used to shop there all the time. Today I was there and it was like a different store. Cashier was horrible the lady who helped me in the ladies department was snotty and made me feel like I was bothering her. I didn't buy anything. Very disappointing. What happened?? read more

I've had 2 really successful shopping trips to this Marshalls and found tons of cute clothes. My only issue is with the employees, specifically one of their dressing room attendants who was INCREDIBLY RUDE. If you are going to have a bad attitude, don't get a job that involves interacting with customers. read more

I purchased a Michael Kohr's purse at Mashall's in Frederick on 10/9. The cost of the purse was 199.99. It is 10/24 and the purse is falling apart. I do not have a receipt of tags but have my TJX rewards credit card statement that shows the purchase. The store manager, Troveana, refused to take the purse back or give me store credit. After calling CS, I have to mail the purse back and then will only be given store credit. I will never shop at Marshalls, TJMaxx or Home Goods again and I will be closing out my account with a company that does not stand behind their products. Trovana and Ben (CS manager) were less than helpful and really did not care that I had spent over $200 on a purse. read more

I just left this Marshalls and I had one of the worst experiences I have ever had in any retail store. I am visiting home for the holidays and was very excited to check out the new Marshalls, I am a huge fan of the chain. After tonight, I will never be shopping at this location again, and I will tell my family and friends in the Frederick area not to shop here either. The manager, Brice, was incredibly rude, if I were his boss I would fire him. I am an attorney in DC and I am used to dealing with rude people, but I was shocked by his behavior and abrasive demeanor. At first, it seemed the ladies on the floor were nice, I inquired about buying a mostly used bottle of cologne, the last of its kind, and one of the attendants was helpful. She then employed the help of Laura, a girl whose name we came to know from a store-wide announcement that was made congratulating her on her recent wedding. She seemed to be pleasant at first but her true colors showed through once we received an answer to our inquiry. Brice came over and told me he would rather throw away the bottle of cologne than sell it to me at a discounted rate. He insulted me by snidely saying, "Why would you want to buy something some could have poured something into?" I could not believe the manner of his tone. He walked away from me when I was still speaking. My fiance and I were in shock. I made the comment to my fiance that he certainly wasn't in the holiday spirit, and as Laura walked by, my fiance said, "Well, at least Laura is still happy," and then Laura gave us a death look and then growled, "You can stop saying my name now." Wow. We looked at each other in total confusion. My sister and brother-in law came over and asked us what happened, noticing how dumbfounded my fiance and I were. I cannot imagine treating people the way Brice and Laura treated us, especially give the fact that we are customers! We kept asking ourselves, what did we do? What just happened? There was no rhyme or reason for the way they acted. This is the night before Thanksgiving and I have been so excited to come visit my Mom and my pregnant sister who is visiting from out of town. Instead of spending time with them right now, I am sitting here writing this review on Yelp because I was so upset by this interaction. Brice, Laura, you two are incredibly rude individuals and you should not be in the retail/hospitality industry. Maybe you should consider working some place where you don't have to be around people; maybe a factory worker or a janitorial position is more appropriate.
