Keith is one of the managers and is very kind and caring! I've been coming to this store for over 30yrs! I appreciate his customer service to guests and his co workers! I always hear him uplifting to his peers and he takes the time to remember our names and makes us feel welcome and comfortable!! I always come here and wish more management would also take the time to remember guests especially when we are there weekly:) I know they are always busy ; I'm in customer service as well BUT it takes a second to say Hi and ask someone how they are and makes a world of difference! This is my neighborhood Marshall's and I am always in love with what they have to offer! I have been there a plethora of times since becoming an HB resident 7 years ago. I have come here for everyday household things like brooms, towels, kitchen appliances, pots, pans, so many things to stock up a new home. Everything I've bought here has been brand new, I've loved them all, they have all lasted for years and I was able to pick them up at a much lower price than your staple stores like target. During my last visit, I was looking for Crème Shop face masks (made in Korea) and I totally scored! I was able to pick up 15 face masks (3 masks in each package) with the following characters: Piglet, Keroppi, Belle and Ariel. I really love these masks and so this was a total score for me - they are hard to find and at $5.99, they are a steal! I perused the ceramic bowl and cup aisles and totally fell in love with a Winnie the Pooh Mug and Tea Infuser set and another Winnie the Pooh mug that says "today is my new favorite day". I also found a whole bunch of gorgeous teacups with matching saucers including a Belle teacup that totally caught my eye that I HAD to come back and get, HAHA. At Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Ross, stores like this, it is hard to find the same thing twice, so if you like it, you gotta take it! I'm looking forward to coming back soon. Spring is right around the corner and more of those gorgeous custom teacups and saucers are calling my name If you're into holiday decor, athletic clothes, household goods, shoes, fashionable new clothes, workout gear, etc, Marshall's is your store! This location is so gross , people leave their unfinished coffees /foods on the shelves. The place itself is a huge mess . The racks are so packed it doesn't give you any space to walk with your shopping cart. Theres clothes and toys all over the ground . The service sucks and the workers dont care about being nice they just want to get you out as soon as possible. Oh and some of their lotions and stuff are EXPIRED. I am absolutely disgusted by the behavior I witnessed by an employee Sunday evening at 6-7PM at this location. Standing near the fitting room by the shoe aisles, I was very unfortunately privy to a cruel exchange an associate assumingly working the fitting room shared with a Hispanic couple. Shortly after they approached, it was very clear they were having trouble understanding the employee. Instead of finding a translator, she seemed right away very rude to the couple and it is not an exaggeration to say her disposition seemed sour just having to interact with them. The Hispanic woman could clearly not understand a word as this employee began berating her for not comprehending fitting room rules? The employee told this couple that it was them that needed to understand her and not the other way around, and that they needed to speak in English. Worse yet, in the middle of this interaction, she turns to another presumed associate and makes a self choking gesture in a very unprofessional display of how annoyed she was. This is still while the Hispanic couple is interacting with her! The interaction did not end there, the Hispanic man tried to enter the fitting room and she yelled at him in a belligerent manner that he was not permitted to do that. I stopped paying attention after that because another associate did walk up and seemed to assist the couple. As a Hispanic woman myself, I am so disappointed that this is the kind of employees you can find at this Marshalls which WAS regularly visited by myself and family. I can't believe I'm reviewing a Marshall's but this is the WORST store I've ever been in. There is 0 organization, even in non-clearance sections. Nothing is organized by size, and the same items are no where near each other it's a total free for all and if you find something you like with a hanger that says it's your size, too bad because the hangers don't represent the size of the item hanging from it at all. Not to mention everything is dirty and marked up. Hands down this place is worse than any 2nd hand store I've ever been to. read more

Went to Marshalls this morning on Beach Blvd about 9.05 am thinking they were open as I saw people walk in. I thought maybe the holiday hours changed. They officially open at 9.30am. I walked in and the gal at the entrance would not let me in unless I had a Marshall's card. Only people with Marshall's card was let in early. I do not want or need another credit card. I understand Costco letting people in early with the type of card they have..... But Marshall's? But the gal wouldn't let me in 25 min early. So I told her I was going elsewhere to spend my money. They lost out on a couple hundred dollars today as I was shopping for myself and wanting gift cards. I got the gift cards elsewhere. Disappointed. read more

I think disappointed is maybe the right word to describe my experience at this marshalls. I found two pants that I really liked in the clearance aisle, and they were originally part of a matching set. The tops were missing but I figured that's why they were on clearance. At check out, the cashier said one pant was priced wrong and it was actually 3x the price. I told her I think it was in the clearance because it was part of a matching set... and she said it would still be 3x the price just for the pants. I told her to just put it back. The second item she said she could sell to me, but id have to wait and go find the matching top? I told her it was in her clearance aisle with a million other items. She refused to sell me just the pants and said if I wanted to, I'd have to pay full price for the entire set. If your store is a mess and your prices are priced wrong, please don't waste your customers' time at check out. And if you HAVE to buy matching sets together, then you should make sure they're still together on your shelves? I ended up leaving both items and walking out empty handed. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went in today so that my boyfriend can buy a warm jacket. We found a black boss jacket that was perfect. There was a white version as well. But we ended up liking the black one better. The marked price was $59.00 on both the black and white one. Then when we went to the register the women is rechecking the price. Saying that it's not correct price. So I told my boyfriend to double check the price on the white one again, since it's the exact same jacket just the color changed. Then when I asked how much it was she said $119 which is doubled the price. Then said that someone placed a yellow sticker on top of the price. One of the lady's coworkers asked her what was going on (in Spanish) then the women replied "she's mad because the price isn't correct" (again all in Spanish). Like why wouldn't I be upset if it's advertised as 59$ for both jackets but want to charge me $119. When my boyfriend came back to the register he took a photo of the two white jackets that had a yellow tag also showing the price $59. So the lady went over there to get the white jackets. Guess what they were $59 on the system and on the tag . Like why would someone change the price on the tag and not even buy it. They didn't want to do the 59$, not my fault that it's not the priced mark. Also crazy how the same jacket but different color would be different prices. When I told them they should vouch it, they said no and that the prices are different bc one came before the other. AGAIN SAMEEEE JACKET BUT IN BLACK. We ended up leaving because at that point it was a waste of time. But they need to get their things together and do better. This young woman at the checkout gave me an attitude when I told her what the price was of this random last-minute item I decided to get at checkout. I was getting around $60 worth of stuff. This particular item was missing a tag so I told her what the price was of the same exact item next to it when I saw it. It was one of those small items in the checkout line. She held up the line and made me wait so "the manager could check and verify". It said around $6.99 for the other one but she glared at me and said "no it's $10.99" I thought to myself there's no way this small item is $10.99. I asked her where she got that number since I had seen the other one and she made up some answer. "Oh see the little line?" No, I definitely do not. What? There's no way she could've seen that price on the ripped off tag. I took a photo as proof. I spend hundreds of dollars at this chain, do you really think I have time to lie about the price of some nail accessory? Not to mention the dismissive tone when I asked about rewards and if they're associated with TJ Maxx. I asked her "aren't they supposed to apply the rewards?" and she said "no. We don't have access to that" like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Pretty sure that's inaccurate because the survey I took later said the employees in fact ARE supposed to ask about rewards, which I should have plenty of considering how frequently I shop here and the fact that I have a credit card here. After all that, the manager ended up giving me the price I had mentioned it was anyway. Unbelievable. There are alot of these Marshalls in OC, the best is in The District. Go there, that one is alot more organized and cleaner, too. And you don't have to deal with employees with power complexes who obviously hate their job. Never have I ever experienced such TERRIBLE customer service --- I'm stunned this take it to a whole new level. I walk up to the counter to return some in opened wrapping paper and ornaments I had never used with the tags, receipt and they greeted me with... is this Christmas stuff we can't return this... no hi, no how can i help you, nothing... just you can't return Christmas items after Christmas.... I was shocked because This is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing.... There's nothing on the receipt that says Christmas is final sale or anything about this nature, I brought it up to them that the receipt did not say anything about this, and I was not told anything about this. The associate named "Jeanette" proceeded to yell across the room to a manager saying this lady wants to talk to a manager, which I never asked for again such bad customer service...... I'm concerned about the onboarding training for this store because wow!! They really didn't train these people.... The manager comes over with a frown on her face and says yeah sorry we can't return this, I politely asked, is there anything you can do maybe store credit and she said no sorry, might try and returning it where you bought it from.... And then responded with I purchase it from Marshall's, aren't you guys Marshalls??? I would put zero stars if I could. I spent 200 on a shopping trip and tried to return one item. I shop here pretty regularly. But I went to return something today (which I typically don't do). My return experience: I was sold one item and when I went back to return it because it didn't fit, they tried to accuse me of keeping the second item (I assume it was a two piece at some point). EXCEPT I never got a second item. It was on clearance and I was suspicious of the price (50 dollars but marked down to 32), so I made sure to inquire about it with the cashier (when I bought it). Cashier on Wednesday said the price was final and I could return it if it didn't fit (today is Friday-2 days later). I went to return it today and they were pointing at the arm pits and saying I wore it then saying it was supposed to be two pieces. I wanted to laugh at them bc they were looking at perfectly sewn armpits and if it looked worn to them then it's because your store sold it to me like that. The "manager" was like "all my girls are trained and they would never sell this item for this price." Well, you're wrong because one of your "girls" did exactly that. And another thing. She goes "I'll look at the cameras to check if there was something else that a came with it." She said it so rudely. I was like "yes. please, GO AHEAD because then you'll SEE that I only got this one shirt." This happened while there were 20 people in line. SO RUDE! They ended up returning the item but only after the girl who sold it to me happened to walk by (just by chance) and confirm that I wasn't a thief. I asked them to call her up and they refused. The girl with the black lipstick was like "no, I'm not calling her up because the associate you spoke to before me already said no to returning it." So rude. I only bought the shirt because I thought it was cute. I didn't realize it wasn't worth $32. If that's the case then marshals should come up with a new process. Also don't accuse people of wearing things before returning it (EVEN THOUGH THE TAG WAS STILL ATTACHED). If that's something you do then that's your business. Not mine. As associates, they should follow the return policy and if there's supposed to be two items then Marshall's needs to rectify that by scanning two barcodes. This could confirm that two items were sold but that's YOUR business , not the customer's. Prioritize customer service. Because I've already told three people not to go to Marshall's for as long as possible. read more

This Marshalls by far has some of the better selections of skincare products. My family and I love coming here and we've been customers for years. The place is actually very clean and shelves are organized and maintained pretty well during our visits. Marshalls is fun because each time you come in it is a surprise with what is going to be available. I lucked out and found my Murad moisturizer here for discount and when I came back next time crossing my fingers to find it again- it was not there. So if you really like an item and have used it before and see multiple quantities here- I say buy 2 of it or more depending on your usage. It is a mixed bag of inventory on what they will receive. I am giving them 4 stars because last weekend I came by early around 9:15 waiting for them to supposedly open at 9:30am which is what is listed on their Yelp page which they indicated was updated for coronavirus hours. I guess people had the same idea and also came a little early and guess what y'all? A group of us sat in our cars waiting after 9:30/9:40 roll around and the store was still not opened. They opened at 10am finally but jeezus we all wasted time waiting when they could have updated the correct hours on their page. They have people counting the amount of people coming in but I think they allow waaaay too many people in at once and should decrease that # because it gets crowded real quick. read more

This store had horrible Customer service!!!! Last night I shopped there AGAIN for the 5th time in two weeks. I also had a large return. They charged me for my purchase first as they were eager to quickly take my money!! When they started processing the returns they literally took 30 minutes!!!!!!! I had all of my e-receipts but they had many different "policies" and reasons not to return most of my stuff so I got multiple store credit cards. They were whispering and made me feel like a thief while Im thieves were stealing during our 30 minute returns that took the Manager and Two Assistant managers to process! I love Marshalls, I frequent here often.. but lately, like as in this past year, there is a lady who works there and runs around with the cart that has the most obnoxious, loud annoying sound. She's literally the only one who runs around the whole store with that dumb ass cart. The wheels are shot out, and need some WD40. I know other people are just as annoyed as I am when shopping there while she buzzes around the store looking for fallen hangers. I never see her pull anything out of it or put anything in it. I had an issue with a return and although he wasn't the person who made the mistake, he was extremely apologetic and quick to solve my problem. Rude old lady supervisor Diana who doesn't care about customer service because why does she give two sheets about them. They didn't take my merchandise card, they ran it wrong and then said I need to call support and they can't help me. Diana swiped it wrong and said it wasn't working. Customer service is terrible here thinking everyone is stealing, how do I fake a merchandise card that works at home goods and tjmaxx but the dumb woman over at Marshall's can't get it to work? You should be fired, and you look like trash lady. They follow people all over the store and acost the customers here. Manager doesn't care either, and smokes right out front of the store. read more

I had the best luck here and got some great deals including a pair of red CK jeans (perfect for autumn), black long sleeved shirt, cute Lucky Brand top, a fun weekend casual shirt, and some eyeshadow. Unfortunately, the Sam Edelman flats I wanted were out of stock in any size remotely close to mine... they did have a nice boot selection, though, if you're in the market for any. I wasn't in need of any hair care products, but they appeared to have an ample selection of brands and products. **My review is solely based on customer service and nothing to do with merchandise, selection or value!** I'll start by saying that the employees, (not all, but at least 90% of them), at the HB location have to be the rudest and most unprofessional group of people I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I've given this location more chances than they deserve, so now I'm going to share a few of my most recent, negative experiences: 1). Return of in store purchase, with receipt, within 30 days: As soon as I gave the cashier my items and receipt, she turned around and approached a worker who was strolling behind the counter; I'll refer to this worker as the "Roaming Employee." The clerk then returned and told me that my item was not returnable due to it being a seasonal item. I informed her that I had inquired about the item's return policy before making the purchase and had been informed that I had until January 30th, in accordance with the holiday return policy. Regardless of the time restriction, my cashier informed me that it was their store policy not to accept returns on seasonal products - I asked to speak to the store manager. The cashier then informed me that, although the person she had asked wasn't a manager, she was the one who instructed her on how to do things, so talking to a manager wouldn't matter. She also told me that ALL customers are informed about their seasonal item return policy. I gave up at this point and my money was not reimbursed, but rather than dwelling, I decided to move on and return a couple of things from an online order, which ought to have been simple. NOT at all! 2). Return of an online order with a receipt, within 40 days: I handed the cashier my receipt and my online returns, and once again, without explanation, she turned around and went to the "Roaming Employee",, to inquire about internet returns. The "Roaming Employee" then moved my cashier to another register and approached my register, where she stood within ONE FOOT OF ME and began to unpack and scrutinize each of my online items . She NEVER made eye contact, NEVER acknowledged me, NEVER talked to me, and NEVER gave me an explanation of what she was doing. I simply stood there feeling guilty, perplexed, and feeling like I had done something wrong. 3). ...and, finally this: Without providing any explanation, the "Roaming Employee" took one of my returned products, went to another employee, and held the item up for them to see. They both glanced at it and laughed about it for a long period, all the while I watched. I'm not sure what the problem was, but my refund was eventually processed. ** Side note** It turns out that the "Other Employee," who had discussed my return item with the "Roaming Employee" and laughed in an unprofessional manner, was actually the store manager! ** Another Side note** I had no trouble returning my "Non Returnable, Seasonal Item", to another Marshall's. - The Huntington Beach Marshalls appear to abide by their own unique set of corporate policies! read more

I never thought I would review a department store, but the staff at Marshalls today took customer service to a new level that I have never seen. A female customer was shopping for a bra. Allegedly, someone bumped into her and swiped the phones she had in her back pocket. She came to front the from bra area and asked for help/security. This is where I happened to be standing. The first staff member said there was nothing they could do. The second staff member said they had NO SECURITY so she was on her own. When she started to go back the area, I pointed out the fish eye camera on the ceiling and said she might be able to see the guy on video. She went back to them for a second attempt at help. I got pulled away. I am now in line to check out. There are about 10 people in the queue. Cashier #7 is telling her customer to go ahead and buy the two pairs of shoes, take them home and wear them all over the house for a month to decide which pair fits the best. Just don't go outside, because they can tell you wore them. As it happens, when it comes time to check out, I get checker #7. I ask her, in a scenario where the woman with the two pairs of shoes has a nasty case of tinea pedis AKA Athletes foot or other foot disease is wearing the shoes for 30 days in her home, what is her responsibility to the next customer? She was pissed! How dare I not want to get some foot fungus! Meanwhile, her co-worker then grabs the phone and says something like Security to Section 2. I looked to her and asked why they told the Vietnamese woman who had her phone stolen they didn't have any security? I asked a second time, didn't I hear you just announce to have your security team to investigate over the loudspeaker? It is just a ruse. She said they told the woman who now did not have a phone to call 911 for help. Both the cashier and this manager(?) were now pissed at me for asking such rude inquiries. Why should I question telling a woman who just had her phone stolen to call 911? Geez, there are payphones everywhere these days... As I left the store, I saw who I thought was the store manager and asked him about a cashier telling customers how to try shoes and still be able to return them. He said he would speak with her. When asked about the security issues, he said he told the woman without a phone to call 911, it was her problem. They do not have security nor access to cameras. Like the others, he was irate that I would expect kindness and respect of another human who had been violated. Lesson learned, if you know what proposition 47 is or are a fan of George Gascon's policies, this Marshalls is the place for you. I understand the challenges that California is facing, but those that are honest need to stick together and watch out for each other. Abdicating the basic need to provide security or protect the health of customers why society is devolving. read more

Dropped in today because we were in the area and I was pleasantly surprised with how clean the store was and how well stocked the shelves were. I didn't end up buying anything other that some flavored coffee and some exotic teas they had but I was very tempted to do some serious shopping. My discipline kicked in and I held back but they already have lots of Christmas items out including some cute xmas doggie homes. read more

I purchased a $20 downfield pillow which had zero support once I got it home and once I tried to return to the store they stated because there was a few pieces of cat hair on it they could no longer except the return and would make a note in their system not to accept if I tried taking it to another store.
