I called in because the person who rang up my items forgot to put smaller items into my bag, and the person over the phone was suuuuuper rude. Purchased a suit for my fathers funeral that I didn't wear and though it was purchased in Hollywood (completely irrelevant) they wouldn't take it back and stated I had to go back to Hollywood. Had the receipt and everything. Don't shop here if there's a chance you might have to return something it appears they go out of their way to make things difficult. How long has this store been here? In the 24 years I have been living on the Westside I never drove in until recently, when I pulled in this busy intersection and parking lot. All because I complimented a lady stranger somewhere on her lovely cashmere sweater and she said she found it here. However much courage it tool to pull into the lot, it took more courage to make my way through their shoe section which was in shambles. I had more fun browsing through their home goods section and clothing. When it was all said and done, I had bought 2 dresses, 2 pairs of pants, some kind of food item which said "gourmet" plus 1 activewear top. Which goes to show that despite the chaotic shoe section, I made it out of there with quite some bargains. One pair of pants is on it's way to the tailor to be hemmed. One of the dresses already went to the tailor and is back although now I just need to find a pair of heels to match. The gourmet food item must have been good because I already ate that snack up. I don't know why their line is so long at the cashier, however it does move fast. The cashiers were friendly. Maybe it's long because they figure people like me will work up an appetite and purchase some "gourmet food item" while waiting in line. Do you know what took the most courage? In my search for.. well, nothing in particular, I stopped into Marshall's to do some browsing. Their shoe department is actually amazingly organized. Each pair of shoes standing perfectly on the racks in an almost OCD manner.. unfortunately, that's where the organization stops. The clothes are still typical to what you'd find in any discount retailer.. a big mish mash of clothing on racks. Unless you enjoy a good clothing treasure hunt, I'd skip Marshalls. If you want some basic red or black pumps, or ballet flats.. give this place a go. The shoes are typically about half off sticker price. read more

I do give the store and staff 3.5 stars but I'm giving them 2 stars for their baking product (pic included)...since I never had a chance to use it and it already became rusted just from washing the item. I did buy it quite a while ago and finally got my kitchen all organized with my baking and cooking supplies..I do love to cook and bake! But I do not expect an item to go all RUSTY after one wash.. But I know now, you get what you pay for..even for cooking items! }: }: Plus, the manager would not give me back my money even with a Marshall's tag still on it.(no receipt) & like I stated I had purchased it quite a while ago...So, I will stick to Sur la Table, Le Creuset, Cuisinart, etc. for kitchen item in the future!! read more

I had a work function 2 miles away and rather then sit in a ton of traffic going home (opposed to just some traffic!), I killed time and went to this Marshalls which I had never been before. I was really impressed: 1. bathrooms were clean...it didn't look like a bunch of wild animals were in there fucking things up 2.things weren't all over the floor (also looking like wild animals fucked things up) 3. workers were easy to find and there were several working the registers 4. the best makeup selection out of every Marshalls/TJ Maxx that I have been too (there were open boxes aka stolen products, but most high end products were behind the plastic boxes that you need a key to open) 5. nice clothing selection Why 4 stars and not 5? 1. They do not give you bags regardless of how much you bought...I've never had this at any TJ Maxx/Marshalls...I guess that's a store decision. 2. They do not allow returns on opened cosmetics...This is also a store decision (most stores I found do allow it). I went on a Monday the week of Thanksgiving at around 5:30PM. The store wasn't that busy, but it wasn't dead either. There is free parking in the structure and it wasn't that hard to find parking, but I imagine going on weekends or during the holidays that you are out of luck. Who doesn't love Marshall's? Compared to Ross it's usually pretty well organized and higher quality stuff, tho it means better brands = bigger price tags. I come here for a lot of things - beauty products, clothes, gifts, men's wear, etc. Love that parking here is free and it's near my eye brow place and fave lunch sushi spot. Also close to Little Osaka and Olympic and Sawtelle. I wish the parking structure was bigger. This store is a good size. read more

Decent selection and get new things in all the time. I always end up overspending and getting stuff I'm not sure if want but don't want to risk (again) passing over then when I go back its gone. They have a generous return policy and they give refund also on gift card which I used as an emergency gift for the holidays. I always check the discounted/clearance items first and then work my way through the store after. read more

I'm a fairly regular shopper of this location. I will agree with the other Yelp reviews, in that parking can be challenging in this location. I try to get there early in the day, as then there's plenty of parking on the 1st level. It can also be hit & miss in finding bargains. I've found some shoes & pillows in the past that were good quality & reasonably priced. The associates can be helpful, if one is able to find them around the store. I usually try to have a specific goal in mind & if I don't see it in the store, I'm on my way. They're definitely reasonably priced for socks, home items & purses. I've eaten at most of the restaurants in this location afterward, as one needs to take a breather after getting some good bargains!! :):) All in all, a well organized & clean Marshall's. read more

I think this is probably my favorite discount store location in LA, even though I haven't actually purchased anything here... I typically get a street parking spot, pop the coins in & go. It's pretty easy to navigate once you find the actual entrance... It's not very clean, but I think that's to be expected. I'm kinda bummed that there aren't any other great stops nearby, so basically if you're going here, you're going here, only. No multitasking here. They generally have a decent selection and most of their items are still priced as you would think. $12 for a non-designer shirt... Whatevs. Shoes... hit & miss. I usually love coming here. I always find something I'm looking for. However, customer service is always just ok. Came in today and had over $200 worth of merchandise I wanted to purchase and asked if I could get some help finding a box for a shoe that was on display. The first answer I got was "ok I'll call someone" then watched her talk to another associate and never call. So I waited. 5 minutes later I asked her if someone was coming and she doesn't give me an answer, completely ignores me, but picks up the phone to call for help. Another few minutes pass by and not one person helped me and luckily I see another employee just an isle away. I asked her "excuse me, would you mind helping me find a shoe?" And she puts her hand up in my face and says "no sorry..." and walks away. I watched her continue to tidy up the racks and walk right past me to pick up more clothes from the dressing room (which was right next to the shoe isle I was in) and then head back to tidy up racks. The "security" person who works the front entrance in the evening (shes african american, heavy set, female around 45ish) has the Worst attitude I've ever encountered at any store that I've ever been to. Upon entering she literally looked me and my little girl up and down and wouldn't answer when i asked her, politely of course, what time they were closing, she litterally rolled her eyes and scoffed! I wish i was joking cause the level of ridiculous this lady was was comical. (And it wasnt like my question was an off the wall question during a pandemic when open and close hours are changing every other day)... It makes me not want to come back honestly. But i will cause things like that don't stop me from going places. It was just really very unnessesary considering i don't know this woman and i had never been in that store before. Department stores have become really uncomfortable to shop in. There are people always following you. I understand they're doing their job, but it's EXTREMELY uncomfortable and annoying when you have people and employees following you around everywhere. I find it very disturbing that they positioned the women's intimates section (aka ladies panties and bras) directly in front of a window in full view of the street and right in front of a shady bus stop. I have previously emailed their corporate office to complain this but nothing has been done. It's embarrassing to shop for underwear in full view of every creep on Olympic blvd. Marshalls, listen up: * You have a great selection of clothing and shoes here * Your prices are great * Parking in the lot is super easy, always * Your cashiers are very friendly But ever since you remodeled the dressing rooms, it is ALWAYS about 85 degrees in there. Really, the whole store is on the warm side, but it feels like the new lights in the dressing room or the lack of air flow to that area or a combo of both makes it unbearable to try things on for more than 15 minutes. So if I'm buying let's say, $60 worth of things here after 15 minutes of dressing room time, and then I have to leave or else die of heat exhaustion, imagine how much more I would have spent here were I more comfortable in your dressing rooms. And don't think that it's just me that feels this way. I was here yesterday, and overheard four other women - who didn't know each other - complaining about how its ALWAYS so hot in the dressing rooms. So, if you're losing maybe $60/person/day because we can't try things on in comfort, that would add up over time. Not to mention, it now grosses me out that the clothing that other people have tried on and put back potentially got all sweaty from their sweaty bodies in the hot dressing room. Yuck. I shop here at least once a week and spend at least $200-$1000 each time. I come in for a salad bowl and leave two shopping carts full lol. Usually customer service is amazing except ONE person. Their "manager" Hyde needs an attitude check. She was taking advantage of a poor couple trying to return something and being EXTREMELY rude to them and myself when I tried to step in on their behalf since they didn't speak English well. What in the world are all these people doing shopping at Marshalls on a Tuesday at 1pm?? If you say "it's the economy" I'm still wondering why if you're unemployed during the daytime would you be out spending money on clothes, shoes, etc? It baffles me but this place was packed! I get claustrophobic too and I was getting SO annoyed and flustered. I could barely start to try on a pair of shoes without having to do the one-footed hobble to get out of the way of some pushy and otherwise inconsiderate fellow customer trying to bogart his or her way through the aisle that I happened to be in. Exasperation was the name of the game. Aside from my crowd-induced anxiety I found THE HOTTEST pair of black heels. Exactly what I was looking for. There was actually a big selection of boots too that I was digging. I didn't see much in the way of clothes that I was interested in but the Clearance racks were loaded with items marked down to $5. I noticed something a little sketchy in the dresses section. I saw the EXACT dress with 2 different labels and tags. One dress was marked as BCBG and the tags looked legit. I then spied a whole slew of the same exact dress but they all ALSO had legit looking tags that said Vertigo. Skeeeeeeeeeetchy. The check-out system is kinda cool because it automatically calls out the next available check stand as soon as a transaction is completed. Bonus points for efficiency. read more

My friend had a gift card & was interrogated by the cashier asking her where she got the card from. Marshall's has taught me a lot over the years, such as the importance of persistence and the value of trying everything on. So I am grateful and indebted to Marshall's, and much as I wanted to give this location more stars, I just couldn't. There was a sale going on and surprisingly few people, so I was fairly confident I'd find something decent, but the more I looked the less rosy the prospect. It seemed like someone the same size as me with the exact same taste as me had gone through the whole store and snatched up all the good pieces. Everything was either one size too big or one size too small. AND, I came across a hideous pair of BCBGs that were, ironically, in my size. Marshall's was mocking me! This is a large Marshalls store very similar to other ones. I like that there's a large parking garage right by and you don't have to pay for parking. I like that there is an array of Home items in addition to clothing, shoes, accessories, bag, suitcases, and children's toys. I heard about Marshalls years ago and went in periodically, strolled around and then left because it didn't feel like Forever 21 with awesome displays and multiple copies of each item... And then after I had an epiphany about the fact that I still dress like I'm 16 (I'm 23 now) and I really need to be dressing my age for my job and for attracting men who are over 20 or that aren't extreme nerds or aren't creepy. Anyway, I went to Marshalls again to see what I could find in the way of non-cotton-knit tops and dresses and dress pants and I ended up coming home with 10 tops, 2 dresses, 1 skirt, and 1 pair of shorts!! And they are ALL amazing, high quality, and I've gotten a compliment on every piece that I've worn! Talk about success! Buying tops: The trick is to wear a tight tank top to the store. Then get a cart and just start throwing everything you like into it. Once you have about 30 pieces, find a mirror in the store, and just try on each piece as fast as possible over your tank. The ones you think have potential, keep them and try them on in the dressing room later. For bottoms and dresses, it's a little harder since you can't really test them in main store area. Personally, I love this Marshall's. There's free parking (though at peak hours, e.g. after 6 pm, good luck finding a space); the store is pretty spacious and typically well-stocked and not too picked-over; and They have a pretty big home department, which can offer great bargains if you have the patience to look for them (and know how to spot the clearance sticker). True, their pricing is not always that discounted. Clothing by Free People or Laundry, for example, is not much less than the sale prices for those labels at normal department stores. But the labels sold here aren't Ross quality, they're a full level above that, so you can't expect dirt-cheap prices for diamond quality merchandise. I've even spotted luxe handbag brands here, such as Michael Kors (though you tend to see models made for the outlet, rather than the ones sold at normal retail stores), Or Hany, etc. Sometimes these handbags will be discounted, either for no apparent reason (it's been sitting on the shelf too long) or because there's some usually minor flaw, such as a missing hang tag or scratch on the leather. It's funny that some Yelp reviewers compare this Marshall's unfavorably to TJ Maxx. In fact, they are owned by the same company, so essentially (except for store format) are the same store. Not a huge fan of the shoe section, which reminds me too much of a DSW Warehouse (you see shelves stocked with stacks of shoe boxes with prices displayed on signs, rather than the hodgepodge of shoes on a size-specific rack that TJ Maxx or Ross typically offers). I don't feel like the prices are as good as they can be at TJ Maxx or Ross, but perhaps the selection is better here. The staff "on the floor" here is less than friendly. I've asked for help in locating certain items and have been rebuffed on several occasions. But I guess that's what you'd expect at a place like this. read more

Weekend 3 of Stephy Gets Organized continues... So after driving to Culver City on Saturday afternoon on the 405(you idiot steph, why do you fall for this freeway trap every time?!?!!?) I finally reached my destination after (literally) 2 hours! It was going to be a quick turn around trip and after that massive annoyance I wasn't about to turn right around and sit in hell again, so I decided to explore my fine city and see what the West side was serving up for shopping options. It was then that I spotted Marshalls (yay!) and decided to see if they had some of those cool Moroccan boxes I scored at the Studio City one for my home office. But before I entered Marshalls, I had to tinkle and so after walking through the parking lot I saw a RESTROOM sign and followed it. Once I opened the door it was a strange site to say the least. You see, it is a HUUUGE near empty room, with one tiny little toilet in the corner, a little sink and a big shower with no curtain. What?!?! How does this even make sense. There was also a glory hole in the wall and while I doubt that's what it really was, why does this big empty room have one conspicuous hole in the wall pointed directly at the toilet. Hmmmm? Well, I wasn't about to risk being on America's Funniest Pee Happy Videos and so I stuffed the glory hole and finished up my business as quickly as possible. Still though, it's just weird and the room made no sense and since there are no bathrooms in Marshalls, this is your only option. Once in the store I was pleased with the massive shoe selection. A lot of the stuff was cute and well organized and cheapy cheap. What I wasn't impressed with was the lack of home decor stuff. They maybe had 8 boxes compared to the aisles of them and other cool home decor at the other Marshalls. What this place did have that the others don't was a hefty selection of luggage, so I guess if you want a suitcase, this is a good bet. The staff here was not so impressive either, in fact slow and a tad clueless sounds about right. Overall, I wouldn't rush back here and I think I will stick with the Valley standbys and call it a Marshalls day. I went with Emily S. here because she is a bargain hunter. We went right after Christmas and boy, it was like a nuclear bomb went off in this store. Things were in disarray and messy. You can find your bargain basement goods here or goods that major department stores could not sell. Of all things here, Emily was trying on ear muffs. Really now. Ear muffs. Or zero stars if that's even possible. I shopped here during President's Day weekend to update my tops selection for when I go to work. Good prices for cute clothing. When I got home, I decided that one of the tops didn't look right with a tank top on. So I headed back to the same store today (two weeks after my shopping day) to make a return within the 30-day grace period...WITH A RECEIPT. The cashier scanned my item and was quite confused about what she should do. She conferred with her supervisors because apparently the tag of the top didn't match the merchandise. Mind you, I never touched the tag, nor did I even use the top. The tag was completely attached to the merchandise, no tampering whatsoever. The conferring among the cashiers happened for about ten minutes and then finally they said they could not accept my top for a return because that's not Marshalls' merchandise. I made every effort to keep my cool and decided I will not leave until I receive my credit back. This entire hoopla with the mismatch between their tags and their clothes is NOT my problem. Finally, the supervisor said she would "make an exception" and give me store credit for my return. The women behind the register showed no concern or surprise about this issue. It was kind of like, "well, sorry that you claim you 'bought' this from us with this so-called receipt, but now we can't accept it 'coz it turns out, we do not sell that item." Such a bunch of b.s.!!! There was even this air of, "oh, you must've attached the tag to a random top and now want $24.99 credited to your VISA." Nonsense!! And to highlight the lack of competence of Marshalls' staff...the supervisor quipped, "I didn't witness you make this purchase here." UMMMM, do you realize how many employees work in the store?!? So unless, you spend 24/7 in the register area, you will not witness every single customer's transaction. Idiot. I was still upset, but I ended up accepting the store credit. How in the world are customers supposed to know that the clothes they purchased from this ridiculous store did not have the appropriate tags?!? This incident was plain ludicrous. This place saved me after an embarrassing situation. One day at work, I split my pants at the seams up the arse. It was so opened, I can feel the breeze. The mishap probably happened because I scraped on something when I'm leaning against a wall. I didn't discovered it until a customer told me that. Embarrassing! At the time, there was a dry cleaner next to Volcano Tea on Sawtelle Blvd that also do tailoring. They would repair the pants for me if I am willing to wait 30 minutes. No dice. I had to get back to work within 15 minutes. They were nice enough, but I am crunch for time to get back to work. So I borrowed a sweater from them and tie around my waist. Quickly, I made a B-Line down to Marshalls. I made sure that I was a blur passing the Starbucks next door. Once I got in, I didn't really care what pants or slacks. As long as it fits, who cares? I grabbed a Khaki pants that fits me and head back to work. Luckily the sweater protects the crater that was opening up the hole of the pants. I don't think anyone noticed it, but people would find it strange that a grown man had a sweater around his waist in the heat of the summer. They're probably thinking that "It's Only in LA" kinda stuff. Changed my pants and got back to work without a problem. The next day, I did stopped by to see if there's anything else I can get. The place I noticed was a little bit disorganized. There's seemed to be alot of racks that had been seep through where people take clothing in and out of the rack. Then didn't put it back nicely. At certain sections, it's really cluttered and very disorganized. There's no real knock against this place, but it can be a lot more neater. Overall, balancing it out, this place is not bad. This Marshalls is very well organized. The store looks really clean and has simple but classy décor. The dressing rooms are really nice and lit up. I like the little signs next to the hangers in the dressing room, something along the lines of "definitely", "maybe", and "tomorrow". Helps you keep what you're actually buying and what fits, etc. in order. The staff here is really helpful. It's also easier to find things here than at a Ross department store for example. Great selection of active wear, got a few nice pairs of yoga pants/gym clothes for cheap. Yay Marshalls! read more
