It's financially dangerous to shop in these stores, especially during the holidays. I lifted my boycott for Marshalls because I understand that they are still supporting DEI. I'm sure many people can agree that if you walk in for one item you'll walk out with three, or four, or 10, or maybe even 20. They still get a great selection of unique offerings and one of my favorite aisles is the imported gourmet foods. I was able to pick up a lot of thank you treats for people who've done lovely things for us. I always leave something in the mailbox for the letter Carrier and set up a Hospitality station on my deck for delivery people. This is a good place to fill up that bin from For the most part, the value is still there despite the tariffs. I have noticed there are not as many soaps and there are more common place items. Good luck trying to find somebody at the jewelry counter. I do feel for the staff because I'm sure that they have reduced the employee count despite the need. The line went smoothly. They got through approximately 50 of us within 20 minutes. read more

Well I went to Marshall's today Sunday . They have so many good buys Then you go to check out and the line is sooooo long . They had only 4 registers open out of 9 until I started speaking loudly what's going on here Then slowly whomever was supposed to be managing opened a few more registers. Who ever owns this store doesn't not take into consideration shoppers are busy and need to get in and get out There is no reason for this to happen on a weekend . The only excuse is that it was lunchtime . In stead of staggering the lunch hours so the service wouldnt be affected they give lunch at busiest time I'm just not used to such inefficiency I hope someone in charge reads this !!! read more

One of its prime locations in the Poughkeepsie Plaza and is the most shopped at. Definitely a big go-to when finding a place to shop. It's easy to say that the inventory is quite large in each department, well-stocked, and organized. In terms of cleanness, it can be a disaster to look at some time as items are misplaced and clothes left hungover on the main rack. Also, on how general retail is, it would be awesome to see more workers out on the sales floor, making the customers feel delighted and welcomed. Asking for assistance wouldn't be as hard if that were the case instead of roving around for a long time. We never had any issues for the most part, because we knew what we were getting. Having knowledge of where everything is, despite maybe a couple of moves and changes, will become handy for the most part. Weekends can be a nightmare, especially at the checkout line. Hi there, I am back with another review of our wonderful Marshalls store on the South Road in Poughkeepsie, New York. All I can say is if you have not been there and are looking for an all around store to find something nice to pamper yourself you've gone to the right place. This store is full and when I say fall, I mean it, it is full of regular price and sale price clothing for children in between and grown-up male and female . They have the best sale aisles of any store I've seen in recent weeks. I have literally shopped twice a week and gone out of the store with over $100 in purchases now that's not always clothing. I've managed to get other things such as linens, households gifts for other people. If I could give you some advice if you're looking for something for yourself or if you need a gift for someone, this is the perfect store or you can always get a gift certificate for someone and when you do, you will get it for TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Marshalls and Sierra. No matter what you choose you're a winner for sure with any of these stores, but my all-time pick would be Marshalls! Go see for yourself you will not be disappointed. read more

I believe that Marshalls management and hiring manager Bobbie does not like minorities I have 3 children that work there at the moment and they haven't been put in the schedule in weeks I don't think that's fair when they are under age just trying to work. I understand they may be trying to terminate them but doesn't want to. It doesn't look good when they are good employees that gets the job done for customers. This Marshalls completely saved my co-worker this morning. We are in town from Buffalo and he wore slippers for the car trip... and completely forgot to bring actual shoes. We looked up a few places in the area and Google told us Marshalls opened at 9. Unfortunately, Google was wrong and they actually open at 9:30, the same time we had a meeting to get to. As we were standing in the lobby trying to figure out what to do, a woman (manager?) saw us looking lost and greeted us. We explained the situation and she took pity and let us in early! Within about thirty seconds we found dress shoes that fit (for only $19.99) and we were checked out and on our way to our meeting within five minutes. This was really above and beyond customer service. read more

Some Marshall's are a hit or miss for items you find in the store. This one in the Poughkeepsie Plaza mall is a decent size with sections including shoes, beauty, home, clothing and travel suitcases. I didn't buy anything in the store, but I do like their home decor section with picture frames, decorations, etc. One thing about these stores is that you really have to dig for gold to find something you may really want if it is even there. I would only go if you wanted to take a browse, but it would be difficult to have an item in mind you want and expect to find it there. read more

First day back ....store reopened after COVID19 . Customers allowed in without masks. People shopping took their masks off. When someone reported it to the Manager at the front. She did nothing! Crazy... beware...shop at your own risk! read more

When I reviewed the TJ Maxx across the street a while back, I mentioned that it did not have a great selection of men's clothing. That's because it's in this Marshalls across the street in the Poughkeepsie Plaza Mall. It's a decent assortment, as well as its inventory for women, kids, and infants. What's pleasantly surprising is the assortment of electronics and cosmetics in the front of the store as well. This store actually has a computerized system/voice which tells the first customer in line which register is ready. That might not seem necessary in a store this size, but I like the idea of it, and I wish other stores had it as well. read more

People in this area are very ignorant and lack a lot of brain cells. If you have no problem with people being all in your face and all on you while you need to shop during a pandemic then this is the place! Too bad I needed a shirt for a funeral while everyone else is in there trying to convince themselves they need something. Nobody practicing social distancing and the cashiers look all stank faced. Must be rotten cheese behind the counters that we as customers can't smell. The Mid-Hudson region is so beautiful but the people are so miserable. Do better. read more

As that famous actress once said "what a dump" the makeup/ beauty department was such a wreck including a box that was supposed to hold a toofaced eyeshadow palette that was empty (someone must have stole it!) things thrown around , damages palettes with powder all over them The girls department not much better I went there looking for an Easter dress for my daughter and they only had summer dresses out in her size and the Easter dresses they did have out were for babies/toddlers I guess girls who are 5 and above shouldn't be dressed nicely for Easter Never again read more

I love this store, they do have a lot of clothes, ladies clothes...but I also like their stuff for home. They carry a lot of beauty products also. The makeup being broken and all...that I blame us, the customers, not the store. They are so busy and it looks that they just need one Associate to just sit there and be up the customers butt to make sure nothing gets broken, pumped or sprayed. A lot of little kids that are not being watched that go around pumping soap and lotions...A lot of adults dropping things and not bother to pick them up. So I think we could be a little better :) This is a store you have to come and see every other day, it's fun to shop and sometimes easier. read more

I will NEVER EVER shop at this store EVER again ! My husband and I came in shopping as we always have and located Adidas shoes on the clearance rack with a $16.00 tag in it ! We thought great ! Comfortable and Cheap ! We got to the register and the young man stated he needed to verify the tag was correct. I said sure no problem. Upon checking it came up as a "Toms" shoe. I asked to speak to the manager in which a woman name Kristina came over with the grumpiest look on her face and advised they couldn't honor the shoe price since it belonged to something else. I asked to speak to another manager in which another woman by the name of "Ms Wentzel" another grumpy manager came out and stated these are brand new and just came in and they couldn't honor the tag that was in the shoe. I had other items I wanted to purchase and asked the cashier to cancel the order and advised I would be reaching out to corporate. Customer service from both managers was horrible and the mere simple fact that they couldn't honor the price that was in the shoe is DISGUSTING ! I understand for many reasons they would have to check the tag because someone may have put it in there whether customer or employee, however that is not my problem. I will be following up with a phone call on Monday morning for resolution to this. read more

Bad shopping experience. Wont go here again and I will tell you why. They won't allow you to take the shopping carts to your car to unload after checking out but we found that out after getting hurt. When trying to leave the store, after checkout, the carts all of sudden stopped short. They literally put some kind of stoppers on the wheels of the cart that prevent you from leaving the store with it. Me and another literally got jammed in the abdomen when trying to do so. I told the manager that I got really hurt but she couldn't give a shit. I mean I was in pain from it. What if that happens to a child or a pregnant woman pushing the cart? Someone can get really injured. So keep in mind no matter what you purchase, heavy items, a lot of items etc., you will have to carry them in your hands to get to your car. What kind of service is this? They make it very inconvenient to shop here. Total disaster. What do people with disabilities do?? And the TJ Maxx across the street charges a twenty five cent fee to use their carts. Not all of these stores are like this though. Don't shop in the Poughkeepsie store. read more
