Went here right after the holidays to spend my holiday money. Surprisingly the store was well kept and clean. I was expecting a mess. I didn't have to go treasure hunting. I picked up a lot of various things. If you know Marshalls you know what i mean. The employees were very friendly and actually one of them gave me 10% off because one of the items was not perfect. Marshalls did the job, I found a speedo practice swimsuit. I used to be able to find these at Ross for like $20, but they aren't selling them this season. So I just happened to find them here while on my lunch break for just $17. Nice. The store isn't that big, but you can search through all the isles. read more

Eh, clean enough. Marshall's. A place to go for designer labels a little on the cheaper side. A large department store with a variety of different things to suit each individual's needs. Located right in San Bruno Towne Center, Marshall's is pretty noticeable as it is located right next to Best Buy. Parking is located right in the center so no pain to find parking unless you want closer parking then that could take a while on a busy day. Marshall's is huge. You walk in, scan your surroundings, and begin your journey. It's quite easy to walk through if you just go in a circle. Bathrooms are located towards the back near the bed sheets and fitting rooms are located in the middle of the store on the right side. I really only come here with my mom since she likes to come here to kill time a lot. Not that I mind. Marshall's has enough things here to keep someone occupied. And there's a bunch of random knick knacks that you can totally buy and you probably never even realize you needed it in the first place. For example, just recently my mom bought a pasta machine. I never had the urge to create pasta, but now that I've seen the machine... My fingers are twitching to make dough. The service here is pretty minimal. No one really goes out of their way to ask you if you need any help as you're walking around the store, but the cashiers are usually pretty friendly. Marshall's is finally open now after shelter in place. Upon arrival on this random Wednesday afternoon, you'll notice a bit of a long line outside. Cute chalk signs welcoming customers back to the store are on the ground in front of the store. The outside has social distancing lines for you to follow. According to the sign up front, the store can only have about 114 people inside at a time. When my mom and I got there there were about 4-5 people in line ahead of us. There's somebody in the front who tells you when it's your turn to enter and there's somebody else inside cleaning the carts as needed. When you get inside there's arrows of the direction you need to follow to practice social distancing. It's a good way to make sure the flow goes a specific way- but there's a lot of people who don't listen to the arrows. So much sale going on right now. Almost everything was on sale. Being back at Marshall's post covid was a little nerve wrecking tho. It felt scary and uncomfortable to be surrounded by a lot of people even if there are social distancing markers. There's a lot of people who aren't wearing masks properly and people not listening to social distancing markers. The fitting rooms are closed but people are still grabbing the stuff to take a look which is understandable. Unfortunately, I think I'll have to wait a little longer before I go back to my regular marshall visits. As organized as the Marshall's was, it felt overwhelming still to be around so many people. As I was leaving I noticed even more people and felt like the line was a little bit too crowded. Happy to see this Marshall's open again since it's the one I visit the most! read more

I find this particular Marshalls much better than others I've been to. It's neat and brightly lit and sales associates are very friendly and constantly maintaining the upkeep of the store. The only thing was that their fitting rooms are dim & drab. This location also tends to be the one Marshalls that I can find really great deals on name brand items that aren't some bizarre color scheme. I scored 2 pairs of converses (one teal and the other royal blue/grey) for $45...basically equivalent to a buy one get one at any other store. Also picked up a North Face jacket for $40, some DKNY and Express jeans for $20 a piece, and a pair of Creative Recreation "Ciro Lo" for $30! read more

Nice midrange Marshalls, a lot bigger than some, with lots of convenient parking and a Quickly located around the corner so you can "boba" while you shop. Cleaner, tidier than many. No interactions w/ associates though, and I didn't end up buying anything. Funnily, I was looking for a bathroom scale, which I always see at Marshall's every time I look, except last night when I specifically wanted one. Dammit. read more

Worst Marshall's I have been to. Store associates are awkward in interactions with customers, rude and self-absorbed, no sense of customer service. Love this location as it it well stocked and organized. Since other locations are not organized the shopping here is super enjoyable. I like to peruse the pet section as i can almost always find something special here for my beagle boy. Pretty solid selection of high end designer handbags and shoes as I was able to score a beautiful Michael Kors bag and Kate Spade shoes! Yay for me! read more

Heard on NPR the other day that Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and the Dollar Store are the few retailers who have actually posted gains during this economic downturn. I decided to take a look see at Marshalls for two things: 1. chopping board 2. pine cone thingy used to get juice out of a lemon Whoa! Kitchen area was super disorganized and I was sifting through gobs and gobs of stuff for that stupid pine cone thingy. All the while, thinking I should just drive over to Target and buy one there. NO! I insist on a deal. I need a deal! I want a deal!! Our economy is in shambles and I refuse to pay full price for my pine cone thingy. Ended up leaving with a chopping board, $10 regular priced $20, autumn dish towels, 5 for $6 and a Food Network Cookbook regular $29.99 for $5.99. Yippee, more pics to drool over. All in all, it's a decent place if you want some brand name home stuff minus retail prices. read more

I think I've been caught on film here enough times that the security camera guy is probably just plain tired of seeing me! This store is not for everyone. I brought my BF here once. He looked around for maybe a full minute and dovetailed it right out the door. When you're on the hunt for good deals, you have to be alright with ignoring the glaring lights above and less than glamorous ambiance. AND be ready to get your hands dirty. (Yes, I use hand sanitizer the second I get in the car!) I've found so many great items here over the last decade. Here's a quick run down of some juicy gems: Speck laptop cases $10 down from $35, Monster Cable accessories, Steve Madden and Carlos Santana heels, OXO kitchen wares, Roxy, Jessica Simpson purses, Seven Jeans and tons of quality clothes for kids. I used to organize an annual toy drive and Marshalls is the perfect place for budget stretching. I was able to fill up a whole cart with tons of toys and even the gift bags to wrap them! There are other discount stores, where after trying to not breathe in the air and encountering less than sanitary conditions, I refuse to even step foot into the dressing room. Here, a Germaphobe can happily try on clothes without much fear. So why 3 stars, you say? Lately this location looks more like a garage sale at 4pm. And being the organizing freak that I am, I just can't take it anymore! Camera Dude, whoever from Marshalls is reading this...lingerie doesn't belong in the kitchen (ok, let's not go there). Nor do shoes go with toilet paper holders. So please, clean up your act! read more

I frequent this Marshalls about every week for new shipments. I heard they get shipments a couple or few times every week, so Im sure to find something new everytime. Plus with Marshalls, they get a certain number of a certain merchandise, so get it now or it will be gone next time, for sure! I always buy my hair products from here as well. I usually buy my CHI hair products and Bumble and Bumble products from here for a fraction of the price, usually around $5 to $10, compared to about $20-25, Also, you can find great facial products by Elizabeth Arden. The fitting rooms are organized so are the clothing racks. My 3 wishes for Marshalls: Please, oh please organize the kitchen section! For the love of bringing sexy back again, can you please organize the lingerie section where one can find the matching bra and panty! So I may not faint before making my purchase, can Marshalls invest in some type of Air Freshener in the restroom. For some reason, it is always a bit stinky. Thanks! read more

When going to Marshall's I always have to have a specific plan or else I get lost in the madness. My mission yesterday was to find a laptop bag for under $30. I went to the luggage / bag departments and found nothing. I couldn't find any sales associates to direct me to the right section..So, I aimlessly walked through the store until I found it in the men's section. A good selection of top name brands like Kenneth Cole. I found the bag I needed for the right price but I really had to dig through the merchandise.. No one said bargain hunting would be easy. This Marshalls is okay by my standards. There is not much selection in the women's department, but I do like their shoe selection. I can say this place is much better than the ones in the east bay. I'd much rather deal with the crowds in the Peninsula than in the San Leandro ghetto! I always get stuck buying something near the cash register for my son, which can be annoying because they put candy right in front of his face....I wished they got rid of this tease!! read more

I forgot my belt at home and I wasn't prepared for this HOT WEATHER in San Francisco. Yesterday, I went to Marshalls for inexpensive designer brand name clothes. I got a nice Kenneth Cole belt, but it barely fits me. I think I'll exchange it for a smaller one today. Besides a belt, I got a ENYCE shorts for the low price of $5.00! Ok, its a khaki shorts with green patterned designs on it, but hey, it only $5.00 compared to the original $54.00. When I was in line to pay for my two items, the clerk (Rose S.) at the counter was overly happy saying comments like, "Can I get a free smile from you?" She was also soliciting a donation for a couple of charities. I already donate some bonus bucks at my work at the hospital. Anyway, I'm on a limited budget for this San Francisco trip. When it was my turn to be helped, she didn't give me any "happy remarks" and didn't ask for a donation. Hmmm...maybe it was my aggressive look and not my friendly smile that scared her. I dunno. I just thought it was funny that she was all bubbly to the two customers before me and then she changes on me. Marshalls is a good place to buy clothes at inexpensicve prices. read more

I'm tempted to give this place 5 stars. I don't understand all of the negative reviews. I came here to get dress shoes and picked up 2 pairs for only about $30 bucks each. I also picked up 3 shirt and tie combination packs that cost about $20 each. I felt these were great prices. They earn a star for the fact that I wore 1 pair of shoes to work and realized I needed a half size smaller. I came back in, and after the cashier discussed it with the manager they allowed me to trade it in for a similar shoe. The similar one was not the same style but it was the same brand. They seem to go out of stock of things rather quickly. It must be the affordable prices. If I'm looking for a pair of dress shoes I won't hesitate to come back here. They were selling a santa suit for $60 bucks but when I came back it was gone. That would have been sweet to wear that to Santacon. Next year... read more

I'm giving it 2 stars in the world of Marshalls. This is a pretty terrible marshalls. Everything feels cluttered and there isn't any space to breathe. The isles are terribly small, and it's crowded so good luck getting around with out feeling like your knocking everything over (or actually knocking everything over). It's got the same typical selection as a Marshalls, a fair selection of shoes, clothes, and home goods. It isn't a very large store so it offers a decent amount of what it can fit. Cashiers are friendly and check out is quick. Obviously great prices as all marshalls has. I'm giving it two stars on the fact I've experienced way better Marshalls, this is definitely one of my least favorite in the area. read more

Let's just say that shopping for clothes isn't something that is on my mind 24/7, but when I do feel the need to replenish my closet, this actually isn't a bad place to go. Sure, you'll have to wander through the narrow aisles and dig yourself out from the piles of clothes that other customers carelessly leave on the floor. They have 2 fitting rooms (at least on the guys' side...I don't know if it's the same on the women's) to give the clothes a try. This is not a very good Marshall's overall; however, they have the nicest staff of all the Bay Area Marshall's stores, for sure. I like to come to this particular store for something special that I collect, because I can always find it here. So, I sort of want to brag about that--about how I have dozens of this thing that's a status symbol item, and that I get one literally every single time I'm here, because they always have one, and it's always one I don't already have, and how awesome is that...!??!!! BUT it's really not much of a brag if I can't tell you what the thing is. Right? Right. Despite the loss of the brag, I am definitely not revealing my source. There is absolutely no way I'm going to tell you what the thing is. I would rather half-brag and be super annoying than reveal my source. But this is for sure, of all the Marshall's stores on this side of the bay, definitely the best one for this particular item, by far. So, if you are looking for "certain items," you should put this store at the top of your list, and be prepared to drop some serious cash, because you will find what you're looking for, and you will find a lot of it, and the price will be AWESOME but you will still be spending it. read more

I think that the selection at Marshalls can be a hit or miss. I think it is all about managing your expectations. I find that this store doesn't have much to choose from in the clothing selection, but I managed to find some great deals on HANDBAGS. A colleague and I spent our lunch break looking around Marshall's for a winter coat for her boyfriend. Low and behold, I ran into a beautiful black Etienne Aigner purse that retails for over $120.00 for $30.00. Also, a white Charles David leather hobo purse with dustbag, normally $198.00, for $48.00. VERY NICE. I wasn't expecting much and I came out of the store feeling like a queen. Not to mention that I purchased a gift for my colleague, as well. read more

If you catch deals and sales at the right time; this store can be one of the greatest places to shop, but the only problem is; many of the items in stock are usually repetitive or less than fashionable. I usually stop by here whenever I'm in San Bruno to see if I can add to my shoe collection, but 9 times out of 10; I leave empty handed. The selection of men's shoes are very weak here, no one with any fashion sense would be caught in Crocs or Top Siders in their daily life. This store isn't completely bad, they do have a good selection of home goods and snacks :) read more

i've been shopping at marshall's a lot lately because i have been a) searching for inexpensive comfy lounge clothes for my mom and b) i've been in need of new sheets (this is a great place for cheap sheets - they carry calvin klein and hudson park) usually i go to the marshall's at colma, but on this day i ended up in san bruno because i was looking for a particular shirt mom had requested that could not be found at the colma marshall's. i also had to do a return. YEEGADS! this marshalls is horrible. everything is super cramped and the home ware and shoe section are a MESS. stuff all over the floor and items tangled up in piles everywhere. the people at the register are very nice but sooooo slow. i think those turtles on the comcast commercials are possibly faster. i even watched a movie on my ipod while in line to kill the time and i could still feel the impatience brewing beneath my skin. avoid if possible or else only go on weekdays. i don't even want to think about the nightmarish lines on weekends. read more

One of the most disorganized stores I've ever seen. I can understand if, by day's end, customers have strewn merchandise everywhere and nothing is in its proper place, but that's the condition of this place soon after it opens. The staff is invisible, and prices aren't very competitive with nearby retailers. No matter which location I've visited anywhere in the country, Marshall's has always felt like a chain that simply doesn't try very hard. read more

They are so freaking slow here! The line is always really long and there'll only be 2 registers open at most. On top of that, those working the registers will have conversations with each other during your transaction, slowing up the process doubly. read more

Yesterday evening I was in the toy department in the childrens department next to mens department when some toys fell off the middle shelf & when i came out of the aisle a white man thin with a black sweater & backpack asked my daughter if she was ok & then he asked her about her Halloween book & he stretched his hand out to my daughter & I grabbed her pulled her next to me & behind me. He backed off with my reaction & walked across to the mens department & he was talking to someone on his headphone. I left the store with my daughter that a scary experience. read more

This store is awful and so are their supervisors. I bought a pair of expensive boots wore them to work the broke in the first hour. When I tried to return them the refused to exchange them or give me credit. Apparently they just changed their policy . That is you wear them boot you can no longer exchange them .. well that was a waste Unbelievable...... read more

I would never go to this Marshall's again. The minute my boyfriend and I walked into this place it reeked of something bad. The horrible smell was so bad that I didn't even want to walk more then 10ft into the building. The store looked as decrepit and gross as the Safeway that's about a block down the street. read more

Slightly defective clothes and home goods. A good place to grab some sheets or towels, as long as you are not looking for something in particular, because you are going to get what they give you. The selection of home goods stuff is not as much as Ross, but it still is fun to browse through all the junk in hopes of finding something good. The line can be long, which at that point I usually just drop everything and take off. Go during the week after work, it is much less crowded. read more

It is a hit or miss at Marshalls. I don't care for the location, a bit cluster getting in and out of the San Bruno Center. I was looking for yoga mats and this location did not have them. Either they were sold out or just didn't sell them. read more

First visit in a long time to this location. My girlfriend and I went into the store randomly after eating at Red Robin. We were hoping to find some nice clothes for our upcoming trip to San Diego. After wandering for an hour through all the sections, we couldn't find anything for us. I didn't go lower than two stars because I know their inventory changes daily. However, most of the time when I visit these types of department stores, I usually find one or two things. Sadly, neither my girlfriend or I couldn't find one item between us that we could justify buying. Hopefully you will have better luck than we did. read more
