This store is a hot mess full of clothing with entirely too much tattoo inspired embroidery that is disorganized and falling off of the hanger. i do not recommend this zumiez, it's convenient but the workers are rude and unprofessional. Overall just intrusive, they should get new employees. There was especially a girl with tattoos that would interfere in the conversations i was having when i had let her know more than once that her input was not needed at all. i doubt i will ever come back to this zumiez, unless they make some staff changes. read more

I love the brands that Zumiez sells but I give three stars because I notice this location is very limited in supply. I noticed that this is an example of store where they have certain things in store compared to the rest if the inventory online. The pandemic has everyone trying new hobbies or picking up old ones! I recently decided to get on a skateboard for the first time in a decade, lol! So, I went into this Zumiez location to get a board built. First off, it was nice to see strict social distancing at this location. They were only letting in 5 customers at a time. Next, as expected, they had a pretty decent selection of boards. I unfortunately didn't get her name, but the young lady working in the skateboard section was super helpful in getting my board and all the parts and hardware selected, and she griptaped the board for me as well. She offered to build the rest of the board as well, but I was in a time crunch and just thanked her for her help with the grip tape. I definitely recommend this place if you're in the market for a skateboard in the near future. read more

I went here to returned two hats last month. A woman was very unfriendly to helped me,also charged me one more hat and didn't help me returned other hat. Most importantly, she was unwilling to give me the receipt. I found that she total charged me $ 74 more until I check my bank account. I will not recommend this place at all. read more

I'm sorry to Atlas that I shop at Zumiez. Atlas needs to understand why they don't accommodate my own standards. Any DC, DVS, Emerica, or Etnies shoes that still hold the mid 90s to mid Y2K era design are very comfortable to wear & skate. Unlike Atlas that sells modern skimpy, skinny, hipstered-out skate shoes. Those type of shoes are hella uncomfortable to skate and made me get foot cramps frequently. Zumiez have clearance sale on some shoes that I'm interested in. "Buy 1 pair & get another pair for 1/2 off" that's a bargain. Zumiez sells diverse products like snowboards and snowboard clothing and accessories. Of course, they also sell cruise boards and long boards which the diehard skateboarding community discriminate on. I don't hate on cruise or long boards because I simply don't give a shit about them. I mean would you rather see people getting exercise on long boards instead of sitting on their ass watching TV and binge on junk food? If Atlas would of start selling skate shoes that fit under my standards then I'll shop less at Zumiez. Unfortunately, the owner of Atlas told me personally he viewed DC shoes as symbol of the whole mall skateshop industry. Go ask yourself: IS IT A HUGE CONTRADICTION THAT ATLAS MARKETS AND SELLS THEIR PRODUCTS TO HYPEBEASTS & SNEAKERHEADS WHOM BARELY OR DON'T EVEN SKATE AT ALL??? Food for thought. I still support local skateshops like Atlas but as a customer of choice, I hold own my taste and opinion on which products that accommodate me. read more

Vibe is super important to me when I shop. Demetrius, Lucas and the rest of the crew at Zumiez set the tone for a great shopping experience. I went in looking to buy socks. Lucas showed me where they were. Demetrius went out of his way to show me all the designs and brands of socks that were available. Cool place, got a throwback Adidas Busenitz shoe here because Hillsdale shut down and they had to give their shoes away to other stores. It's nice having a skate shop near the south side of daly city--except for this one time a worker wanted to find me a perfect matching outfit with my shoes to skate in, kind of weird but thank you for your enthusiasm. Although it doesn't have that true local mom and pop skate shop vibe, fairly more convenient to those who want wheels, bearings, and brand boards who don't live next to Atlas or Tanforan. Franchise skate stores like this usually sell shoes at a really expensive price. If you're looking for cheap shoes/boards to skate in just go google shopping or head to Atlas on Black Friday, Christmas sale, spring sale, etc. read more

I went in with my son to buy a skateboard deck and all the hardware to build a skateboard. They said they would put it together. BTW, I never write reviews and especially bad ones but this experience stressed me out. When we came back each bearing was not seated correctly and they stuck outside of the wheel about a quarter of an inch. I asked to switch out the wheels as exposed bearings are not safe and get dirty faster. They said that they wouldn't except the return, final sale!!? I was still in the store, not one sign visible stating any policies, not even on the receipt. Matter of fact on the receipt it states returns accepted. They went out of their way to challenge my request telling me I needed to buy another set of wheels. Even after seeing the bearings did not fit they continued building the deck. The woman putting the skateboard was nice but the manager was not interested in customer service at all! They made me feel like a monster asking to switch out the wheels. The wheels were only $25 and stores factor in mishaps. They could still sell them as the packaging was still there. I have no idea why they would put up so much resistance. We had just spent $180. They are supposed to be the experts. They gave us a selection of hardware to pick from. They should know if the bearings would fit into a wheel given the package deal offer. They looked at it as we picked it and now you are stuck with it. We chose to go into the store so we could ask questions. They were not knowledgeable about the merchandise and I was told I was misguided if I thought they should know their products. Unless you know exactly what you want or know the characteristics of the hardware and that everything fits I would not recommend. I also believe these Spitfire wheels were defective or old. 8mm bearings should have fit. Frustrating experience. I should have gone to a locally owned shop but my son wanted a board from there. Ruined the whole experience of gifting the board to my son for Christmas. read more

First off i spend a few thousands a year just because my daughter enjoy shopping at zumiez its one of her favorite clothing store and she just loves everything they have ,she also my only daughter out of four boys.This was the first time i ever shopped at the Zumiez in serramonte we always shop at the tanforan location in which they give excellent customer service. This location we couldn't even enjoy shopping because you had a African american lady with long braids follow me and my 8 year old daughter around half the store and eye balling us as if i was trying to shoplift. What a horrible feeling. She never asked did we need help ? Even when asking her for a certain size on a hoodie my daughter wanted,she said whatever we have is what we have. Very Rude not to mention that the hoodie we were asking about was 8 more on a rack with all the sizes. Then we had 3 forty dollar hoodie we were going to purchase but then you had another employee looking at us from the racks. I told my daughter put it back we will not waste any money on a store that cant even provide a simple service and not make us feel like were there to shoplift. I understand nobody is in your store a little Word of advice your job is to provide good service to your customers so they can purchase items to help cut you guys a check. Check yourselves you have attitudes of someone that makes six digits a year . Be humble and show appreciation to people especially those who come in with their children. Better yet get some skills from the other zumies location maybe then you can have some kind of foot traffic instead of being bored trying to target a single customer who has money to spend. Great customer service by AJ and Edison at the Serramonte Store. Went in to buy Christmas presents for my niece not knowing what to buy. They helped me with what is in style and explained there return policy. They were extremely helpful, nice, and knowledgeable providing wonderful customer service. Would go back again!!! read more
