I don't often find myself in a Marshalls, but today we were out looking for a newsboy cap for a costume and couldn't find it ANYWHERE. We searched Walmart, thrift stores, etc but Marshalls had the goods. This store had a large selection of women's clothing. I was too distracted to check out everything they had in stock, but a quick breeze through had me thinking I should drop in when I have more time. Seems like one of the nicer Marshalls stores. I've heard people who like Marshalls swear by this location in particular, now I have a better sense of why. Plus, it's open till 8pm during the week, and till 9:30 / 10:00 on Friday and Saturday. read more

Karen the "manager" offered me $0.99 discount on an item that was broken that I was planing on buying and repair. She's a joke! I told her cashier to tell her to keep the item and that I will give her a $1 instead. What a way to take care of a customer that spent over $200 in their store. read more

Always has wonderful deals. Bought lots of goodies here, Michael Kors shoes/candles/etc. Its a better store than Ross hands down. Designer clothing at a wonderful price. The womens selection is very large. Gooo! read more

I shop frequently at the SJC Marshalls and have for years. It's convenient and has a pretty good selection of clothes, home goods and cosmetics. I recently went in to return a pair of pants that did not fit my daughter. Unfortunately, the dressing rooms are still closed so that is what we all have to do. When I went to return them, the cashier accused me of washing them, wearing them and then putting the price tag on. I had the receipt for the jeans. The manger got involved and also accused me of the same. Never once did they scan my receipt. She told me she would have to watch video footage of me buying the jeans!!! She took my number to follow up but I never heard from her until I called today. The manager said she was going to call me back to the store and let me return the jeans without watching the video until I had called corporate. Never heard from corporate either. Buyer beware when buying clothes at Marshalls! Dressing rooms continue to be closed and you may not be able to return clothes or worse yet you will be accused of trying to scam Marshall's and they too will have to watch you in video. Stay away!!!! Stay away!!!!! STAY FAR AWAY! I tried to return 3 items only to be told the tags were off on Christmas presents that were purchased from another Marshall's. This combined with the receipts should have been enough to get this simple task accomplished. Especially since I spend thousands of dollars at Marshalls and these unworn clothes totaled a mere $60. However this store is run by a far from intelligent manager. Who along with insulting my disability, and to make things even worse she had the audacity to tell me to drive 2.5 hours away and return them to the store I purchased them at while at the same time throwing my clothes at me. Worst Marshalls employees ever. I have shopped at this location for years and never had a problem until now. Paid 49.99 for a pet fountain. The fountain plug got really hot and smelled of burning plastic when I tried to use it. Went back to return it and they wanted to give me 18.99 for it. Dig dig for the gold baby. Yes it's work but there are designers and bargains all over. This is the business model and it works great for the bargain shoppers that want nice clothes. This location they are always pretty cool. Check out is fast and I aways find some diamonds in the rough. read more

Treasure hunting? This is your spot, so much variety, everything from Calvin Klein to peppermills. They are super cool about returns even with the tag off the item, as long as your within the time frame of the receipt. The shoes are always fun to look thru and great kids stuff and kitchen goods. I adore the fact that they always have Ralph Lauren sheets and they are my favorite. This location is super causer you can also hit up a big lots and a Ross within a mile and grab a drink or a bit to eat in between. It may be a challenge to get off the freeway, but worth it for sure. read more

Went to this Marshalls in San Juan Capistrano. Had to use the ladies restroom and boy that was a mistake!! Ladies before me were wretching and complaining about the horrible smell and condition in the bathroom. Tried to enter and use it and the smell was absolutely intolerable! There was no soap in the soap dispenser either. I'll never go back to that chaotic and mis-managed store. read more

The best place to find designer clothing, accessories, kitchen gear, luggage, ANYTHING for 40-50% off retail! The store is mostly clean and I never feel like I'm "fighting" or "elbowing" my way through the store like some of the other reviews. Always a pleasant shopping experience and never, I repeat NEVER, leave empty handed. They are good with returns as well as long as you have your receipt. So far no bad experiences with this location and its become my new fave store because of all the designer digs! If you see something, buy it, because it won't be there the next time you go - constantly changing items and things go quick. My husband put a furniture on hold because it was too big to put in the car. He was going to pay for it but the manager said she would put it on hold for him. She took a look of the item we were purchasing and says, "wow I can't believe i didn't see that myself what a bargain". My husband thought it was a little weird, because she kept talking about how she didn't see the item and she can't believe she missed it. We come back later with a rented truck, and another manager says the item was already sold last night, and because they didn't take a number down they couldn't let us know. Wow! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. This sales person, who represents the store, deserves no stars. Took my merchandise and receipt in to Marshalls, San Juan Capistrano, for a return. Erin M. assisted me. This individual had no affect and no idea what good customer service is about. I was told I had to come back on a different day when the manager is available. Apparently she wasn't authorized to handle my return? What?? Possibly the trade off of shopping at Marshalls, San Juan Capistrano is finding a good deal, without good effective customer service? I was told I couldn't return my shoes that broke because I wore them. I did not buy them broken, they broke when I wore them. I totally understand the 30 day policy, but when the manager told me that because they were worn she could not exchange them, I tore up my receipt, and left them my trash (the shoes) and walked out and will never return. She also told me, "this isn't Nordstroms" as if I didn't know where I was. I've been shopping here for years and never had any problems, but today was my last time. You are lucky it didn't break completely and make me fall or this review would be a lawsuit. This "policy" is ridiculous, but the good news is, I will save a lot of money NOT shopping there anymore. I have been going there for years and ea h time you have exceed my expectations of how to enrich your life with the items that I have bought! This store is so wonderfully located in the same shopping center as the dollar tree and good will shopping center. The staff are very friendly and able to communicate with you in different levels! The gentleman at the shoes section helped me to choose and identify which is best for m; whether I wanted out of love or I am indulging it. Horrible experience! I have been shopping here for years, only to discover that when you want to return something the staff becomes stingy. It's like taking money from their pay check. CELINE was the most disgusting, rude and sarcastic person I've ever interacted with. Manager was no help! Useless! Total lack of customer service skills. When checking out, your staff should be trained to verbalize the restrictions that apply to your merchandise and probably offer a one time courtesy when they fail to do so. This store is absolutely horrible they and they misrepresent the pricing of there items. When I asked for an adjustment not only did they refuse they treated us as if we were criminals. Do not ever go here, both of there managers Erin and Selena both have shown they care absolutely nothing about there customers only about that they are right. If an item is marked incorrectly with a sign there is a law that requires them to sell it at the marked price. It is not the customers fault that there signage is incorrect. All of the employees were rude and nobody should be treated rudely when shopping at there store. I have them an F on customer service. read more

I decided to stop by Marshalls in San Juan Capistrano today to see if I could find the last piece of a bathroom set I've been searching for. I found the piece and could return the piece that did not match that I had bought at Home Goods. Then I was told that even with a receipt, they could not credit my account and would have to give me store credit. I purchased the product w/my "Home Good/TJMax/Marshalls" credit card!! I was told I could use this card at any of their stores, no one told me I could not get a refund at a Marshalls store if it wasn't purchased there. I felt deceived and was being forced to use store credit so I would have to purchased more product. They told me their system was not set up to give refunds for the other stores. Then why is their name on the card. I will take my returns back to Home Goods in Lake Forest (their staff is wonderful including their manager) and continue to do business with them but will never shop at Marshalls again. I work at a big local store just up the street and deal with hundreds of customers daily and will spread the word.
