Marshall's in Santa Cruz, right off of highway 1 and Soquel Ave. This is by far the worse Marshall's I have stepped foot in. Unless you have an unlimited amount of time to spend in line, do not waste your time shopping at this particular store. Customer service does not exist here. read more

Decent. Place is fairly neat, clean, organized. Merchandise selection is hit and miss. Most visits I don't find a darn thing. There are random good deals to be had here if you take the time to hunt for them. Never been impressed with the purse selection at all. Overall just an alright place to come in and shop. Staff isn't the best but that's typical of a run of the mill retailer in this catagory of discount goods. I'll be back once every few months. read more

Though the customer service is very spotty, I really don't go to Marshalls for that purpose any how. They tend to have a lot of cute clothing and for the most part it is kept up really well. Which I know here is Santa Cruz can be a tough job with numerous tourist etc. read more

I hadn't been to this Marshall's before and I was impressed. It's large and organized nicely. On a sliding scale from consignment shop to department store, this one is closer to the department store end of the spectrum. When it came to women's clothing and accessories, it looks like they try to carry merchandise with styles that won't fall out of popularity for awhile. Always a plus. The displays are visually appealing and make it easier to navigate the inventory. There was a pretty big line at the registers but it moved quickly because they had multiple registers open with employees that didn't seem new and inexperienced. Apparently the management is doing an excellent job here. read more

This store was a complete fire hazard. Could not navigate hardly at all because of all the racks and stock all over the place. A disorganized mess, could not imagine how someone with a disability could shop at this store. Very disappointing!!! read more

The best place to shop in Santa Cruz county, especially when you find that Capitola is the most boring shopping mall in the world. I wish they can open TJ Maxx or Homegoods in this area. Love the way they organize their stuff and various selections that they have. The service is good, and the bathroom is clean. read more

Living in Santa Cruz we don't have many choices. Marshals was always my favorite on Commercial Way. Don't go there! I counted 28+ people in line trying to check out, looking at the shoes nothing is displayed correctly, all the boxes are separate from shoes. If you find something you like, good luck finding the box and the size that you want. I'm just so disappointed and so saddened. Is it under new ownership? Is it under new management? I use to love this store but there is no supervision on getting enough cashiers . In the last 6 months there is always a huge line and no management seems to stay on top of it and get the cashiers to the front. Often there will be cashiers visiting up front or not opening but working on stuff---Not rocket science that they should call for back up. It can be even worse when someone asks to have all the items they buy specially paper wrapped and the clerks are in slow motion. Yet loads of people that work there are putting the stuff out. One of the top 10 Marshalls I've been to. Did you know they let you bring your dog in? Yup, that's right... shop with Fido, no problem at all. They are located by Toys R us, which is hidden away on Soquel... if you have passed the Flea Market you've gone too far. Definitely worth stopping by if your in the area! read more

This Marshall's is great. There is enough parking. Service was great. I'm surprised how clean it is, even the clearance section is kept organized. Now, how often do you see that? It's not a big store. But, it has enough of everything I was looking for. Checkout, is ONE organized line, just how I like it. I found great brands (Kenneth Cole, Ralph Lauren). I just wish it was a bigger store. I can't wait to go there again :) read more

Major Store Crush Alert : ) Seriously, I love Marshall for so many reasons. This store is clean, very well organized, the staff is friendly and helpful and clearly care about the appearance of the merchandise displays. Now on to the pricing here....WOW I am consistently very pleased with the total at the register on my way out. On one day I remodeled my shower for a mere $25.00. I purchased a beautiful bronze curved shower curtain bar, and bamboo shower caddy and a shower curtain liner. The pet section usually has a great selection of waste disposal bags for less than half the price I have paid at local pet stores. I always find high quality pajamas here. Marshall's recently began carrying a fabulous selection of lamps, mirrors and chairs. I am so glad that this store opened in Santa Cruz! read more

Store was very clean, checkout was quick. There is one person who stood out. Mark. He provided me with the best customer service anyone could ever expect. On two separate occasions, my cart at Marshalls has just disappeared. Employees are very quick to unload full carts to speed up their closing process. This happened hours before closing and my cart was left nearby and for less than 5 minutes on both occasions. It is REALLY RUDE to take someones full cart, after being unattended for literally less than a few minutes. While browsing clothing, I usually leave the cart at the end of a clothing lane, out of traffic's way since they are so narrow you would be completely blocking the walkway if you brought it with you. Both times, all staff I asked lied and claimed to have not touched my stuff but I later found my things unloaded in the dressing room racks (which I had not had a chance to go to since my things I had planned on trying on vanished along with my cart.) Marshalls staff and management, this is extremely rude and unprofessional. You lost a customer and several hundred dollars in potential purchases by putting my stuff back on the shelf. Good job idiots. read more

I give them 3 stars because this is one of my favorite store i go to most of the time. Last week i went there and put a table on hold since my husband is not with me to carry it. That table is the same one that they didn't let us buy because it's already on hold by other people. So i waited till i saw the same table! So i told them I'll pay for it right now and pick it up later is that ok? The attendant says no iu can't do that but I'll put it on hold for you. She asked my name and said Shell put it on the table so people knows that somebody wants to buy it . so i left. After a couple of hours. My husband and i went there. I told them i put a table on hold and that I'm there to pick it up. And the attendants and people at the cashier were like " somebody bought it an hour ago" and my husband was very upset because a week ago they told me we can't buy the same table because it's on hold akready. And now that we put ours on hold we still can't buy it cuz they sold it to other people. read more

Sad how quality and customer service declines once a store has been open a while. This used to be a decent Marshalls, albeit limited in stock due to its size. The product quality has diminished, yet the prices have steadily increased. Customer service is severely lacking. We encountered a manager who was more interested in arguing and laughing at the customers than helping to solve a problem. I hate to give this two stars because this is where I do all of my shopping besides at the clothing store I work at. But I had just gotten done with getting my blood taken and felt kinda woozy by the end of my shopping so I cut it short and headed to the line to checkout. Normally I'd get five or more things but that day I just got some essentials so my cart was pretty bare. Mind you I'm pretty pale and sweaty at this point because I don't feel so great. I'm just getting in line when this heavier set woman with blonde/purple hair comes out of no where right behind me and says "you finding everything okay?!?" Like yes lady I'm in line already obviously I'm good. I felt like she must have been following me or something cause she came up right behind me. She walked in front of me and asked the customers in front of me the same thing but turned back and stared at my cart and me for too long and asked me AGAIN if I found everything okay. Seriously?! I work in retail I understand people shoplift but I literally go there multiple times a week and I have a credit card with tj max so please be careful how you approach people because I might stop coming here if this happens again. Marshalls in Soquel- you need to do better with your managers and employees. This time and the last time I was here I received really bad customer service. Rudeness, and hostility have replaced friendliness and helpfulness. Your manager Bambi is a big part of the problem. She's condescending and rude to employees and customers alike. For example, I bought a food item that was inedible. I don't know if it spoiled, or was just a "bad apple" but it certainly wasn't MY fault as the consumer to have wasted my time and money on a bad product choice at Marshalls. I was chastised by Bambi for trying to return a defective Marshalls product- "you buy it, it's yours." Am I twelve? Is it my fault you stocked a defective product? At the very least, I deserve an apology from your staff, whether or not the item can be returned, and not loud, hostile response as if I'm doing something illegal, like I received from Bambi and her underlings. read more
