Marshalls is ready for Spring and Easter. Dear Hubby and I stopped in last Saturday for a browsing session. I was specifically looking for Easter gifts for our granddaughter. Was able to score an adorable spring-y dress for her for a very fair price. It came with a straw purse as part of a bundled set. Fun! They featured a number of gorgeous fancy Easter dresses at the front of the store. The kind that you'd put a child in to go to a wedding, or quince, or other super-fancy occasion. I can see some families wanting to tog out their little ones in such finery for church / brunch on Easter, as well. I personally think, that while gorgeous, they were on heavy side, if not also scratchy with the jeweled trim on the bodice. Beautiful, but not at all practical. And that's fashion for you! The prices were excellent for that kind of finery. Our Sweet Granddaughter like to get dressed up, but she also likes to be active, so I went for a cute dress in cotton that would be at home in a garden setting, not necessarily where you have to sit and be quiet inside somewhere. Also found some kitchen cleaning items for such-a-deal pricing. I wish they hadn't abandoned Jordan's Skinny Syrups for making fancy coffee drinks at home. Instead, they have Torani brand for double the price of what Jordan's used to be. Passed on that option. The store was busy on a Saturday afternoon. Even so, checkout line moved quickly as they had almost all cashier stands open. Found DH waiting for me sitting at the front of the store on a very comfortable new summer outdoor furniture chair that's part of a set. Better weather is coming! read more

My wife and I stopped by this Marshall before going to her Brighton store that's in the same town center. This Marshall is very organized inside and has a lot of space. My wife wanted to look at their perfume options but we walked around the store first. We saw some baby clothes that really grabbed my wife eyes and the price was good. We then walked over to the women perfume area and she saw some of the stuff she likes. The dressing room is near that area as well. This place has gone down hill! I would compare this store to Ross! I walked in and shortly after I walked out! The store was so cramped, that it was hard to move about! The quality of the clothes was poor! The styles were outdated! And nothing was a great buy! Sadly this really the only big clothes store that Simi Valley has besides Ross! There were two registers open. One cashier was helping a customer, and the other was dusting the shelves where the line was. This cashier saw me, gave me a strange look, and continued dusting. I was the only one waiting in line, and she knew I was waiting for her to help me. Her register light was on, btw. As soon as another person walked up to the line, she immediately said to them, "Oh, I can help you at register #7." I looked at her and said, "I'm actually next." Then she responded, "I thought you were already helped (in a fake, enthusiastic tone)." I know what she did there. It was clear to me that she did not want to help me - she saw that I was waiting. Last month we went to the town center and the kids and hubby ran into Marshals since it was my birthday month and I love Hello Kitty and coffee my husband bought me a cute coffee mug. Well I didn't get it right away but I used it once then read on the bottom it needs to be hand washed so I did. After the 3rd time I used it I noticed the cup was stickers and most of them were peeling off. We went to return it today two days after the 30 day return. So of course they would not return my $6.99 that my hubby paid for it and that was after he talked to the manager. That's so wrong I got 3x use on a $7 mug. Nope won't be shopping there again. I personally enjoy shopping here rather than at Ross. For whatever reason, the customers at Ross have a tendency to open the packages and leave them scattered everywhere. Marshalls also sell top name brands at a discounted prices. The few times I've been here, I've been greeted and have had good customer service from the employees. Keep up the Good work. Also, hard to get through the back half of the store because their go backs or organizers were always in the way, and their makeup section was hard to look through because they had an influx of items that were noticeably put out on the shelves as a rush to sell. Willing to make the commute into LA to go to a Marshall's. Staff are pretty quiet although managers don't have much customer service respect when coming to the customer. I don't shop this type of discount store often, but this one is a sister store to a home store I like a lot, so I pop in now and again. This week I happened to find a purse, that was actually a bag in a bag, that would help me condense several items for travel. On the first use, I found the shoulder strap to be defective. It would not stay attached to the closure. I returned the purse, but I was a little confused at the young cashier who put a new sales tag on it after I clearly explained and showed him the problem. I hope Marshalls is not putting defective items back out on the shelf for others to find. read more

The staff here is great but the managers are rude AF. They talk down to the employees and watch them like crazy. It's weird. You can find good deals but them having to check out always seems like a hassle because the managers are like vultures standing around hovering over the cashiers. This place is a lot like Ross "Dress 4 Less," only this place just has less. It is like 1/3 of the size of Ross, and it really shows. Their shoe department was meager, and the prices were too high for what they had. My daughter got some jeans from here that really didn't fit well. She's a really average size 6 in girls, but these were tight in the legs yet huge in the belly. Fell right off. So, we went back to return them. I had the gift receipt. The guy acted all weird about checking the price and asked someone to go find the same pair to compare the price, so I had to sit there for 10 minutes while they sent someone to look, which at this place is ridiculous. They do not have multiple racks of the same item. Eventually, a manager showed him how to use a gift receipt and it worked out. But really... it was the day after Christmas. I can't believe he didn't know how to process a return. Ultimately, my daughter literally could not find anything that fit her that she wanted, so I gave her cash for it and bought myself some pajamas. This place is okay for bargain hunting, I suppose, but I would never come here hunting for a specific thing, and I would recommend not buying gifts. Things here don't fit average sizes well (hence the discount pricing), so they need to be tried on. read more

They didn't have much of a selection imo but it was nice to go to a store where you don't find empty boxes of stolen products everywhere, or where the ABH highlighters are all broken. I probably wouldn't go back here since the beauty product selection was meh, but they do a good job with the store. read more

My experience at this location: I walked in around 8:30 Saturday night with my mom. I was looking at the sandals & shoes. A man that looked like he was scanning inventory asked if I needed help. I said no thanks, I'm just looking still. Then he says "ok just let me know & try not to mess anything up. I just did a hard recovery so I don't want to have to do it again." I walked out 3 minutes later. I was completely shocked. This was such a rude thing to say. Basically he's telling people not to shop in the store or look at anything because he's "counting inventory." Inventory is something that should be done when the store is already closed, not an hour before closing when the store is still open. If that's how they continue to treat customers, I don't see them being open for long. I will never come to this store again. read more

When shopping at Marshall's, I went to pay at the register with two pairs of shoes I was buying. They rang up at $19.99, but the shoes on the sales floor had a tag labeled $16... I told the lady that was ringing me up asked to see what I was talking about, so I showed her the shoes with the $16 tags! The sales associate told me that the shoes on the floor with the $16 tags are from an older shipment, and I would have to pay the $19.99 per pair of shoes, even though they were the exact same shoes from the same shelf! I asked for the manager to see if something could be done for me? She informed me she was the manager and that there was nothing she could do to change the price! Never in all my years of shopping at Marshall's have I experienced such horrible customer service! Coming from a managers position in customer service, I feel the way she handled the situation was disgusting... and I will not be going back there to shop! We're talking about a $4 difference in price according to what the tags said, and she couldn't do anything for me! Shame on her! She wrote her name as Sarineh (if that's even her name), and gave me a fake phone number for their corporate office! Love this store! It's my favorite place to shop and has a much better selection than the one in Thousand Oaks. My go to store for leggings and active wear. First time checking out Marshall's I always see it when I go down town center and said heck why not today's the day I check out what they have in store . I was impressed by the selection of the big brand names. The shirts I got go for at least 30 or more in a competitive store but go here it's half the price ! Worst costumer service ever, I was trying to get store credit for some items I purchased for Christmas and wanted to do an exchange and since I had the org I al receipt I had to return everything. The lady that was assisting me removed all the tags and replaced them with new tags since the tags did not have barcodes. The manager on duty Angineh S. I think this is a cool place to shop, you can find a lot of cute items or things here but the only think I extremely DISAGREE on is the workers!! They are dickin around and talking about there "personal love life" in front of customers in the checkout lines to other employees. Do that when there are no customers around or don't do it at all. I just wish the ladies from the fitting room would be nicer and calm down, they are very agitated when they see you have many clothes. I understand but it's their job! So 1 star out! I almost got robbed at this location. I stepped out of my changing room to look in the large mirror, so I was gone for a total of 5 seconds. A woman snuck into my changing room and started going through my wallet and purse. Luckily, I am a college student with no money, so she found nothing to steal. When I reported this to management they made me move to change in the men's changing room instead of ejecting her. Everyone who goes here watch out because management does nothing to ensure their customer's safety from criminals. read more

Customer Service is truly DEAD! Just because I shop at Marshalls hoping to get a better deal doesn't give licence nor afford the staff the opportunity to treat me with any less dignity. I received a $10 rewards certificate in the mail and decided to put it to use on this trip to Marshalls. My total purchase was $134 but when the associate tried to scan the certificate the computer wouldn't accept it, she calls her supervisor and he goes to the phone and comes back and says this certificate has already been used. (it has not because I just received it in the mail) never the less I said forget it and just complete the transaction. When she asked for the payment I used my TJX credit card, she looks at me and in a loud voice says the card is not valid do you have another form of payment? Very embarrassed I replied yes and used another card, upon arriving home I called the number on the card and was told there is nothing wrong with my card and that I have a zero balance and no payments due. I am so disgusted that I don't think I will ever go back into any of the TJX group of stores ever again. read more
