This family owned Lebanese restaurant is a gem on the Seacoast, located along US Route 1 in Hampton Falls, near the marshes. This not so fancy restaurant is very cozy, order at the counter with seating for eating in. They offer authentic Lebanese and American cuisine including grape leaves, kibbe, stuffed cabbage, kabobs, kafta, chawarma, falafel, spinach pie, subs, salads, sides, and homemade desserts (cookies, cakes, and baklava). The prices are fair and you get a good amount of food for the money. I stopped here for some dinner takeout after a long day of work in the area. I looked over the menu for about a couple minutes before deciding what I wanted. I decided on the Stuffed Cabbage Dinner ($9.99) which comes with Salad and Pita bread. The owner Joe was very upfront about the pricing and explained to me that I could get an additional side for $2 more and I decided to get fries too! I do recall that the dinner plates used to include salad and fries or rice. While I was waiting for my order, I was eyeing something sweet to eat for dessert. As my dinner was ready to go, I decided to get one piece of homemade baklava ($2) to go with my dinner. The food was delicious. The rolled 5 stuffed cabbages had a very moist dense meat and rice mixture inside, very savory. The fries though pretty standard, were fried golden and crispy outside. The salad had fresh crunchy iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, green peppers, and cucumbers and a good oily dressing on the side. They gave me more than enough soft pita bread. The baklava was very good, a dense and very sweet dessert which was drenched in lots of honey, crushed nuts, cinnamon, and thin sheets of phyllo dough, a nice ending to a good dinner. Just like everyone else, I loved this place. I was in town for a road race over the weekend and wanted something fresh and decent. Stopped in for takeout after seeing all the reviews. I got the chicken kabob dinner, a side of falafel, spicy hummus, and tzaziki sauce because I wanted to try a few things. It was a ton of food. And all of it was great. Good value for your money. I think the falafel were the best I've ever had. The young woman who took my order was pleasant and professional. The food came out FAST and I was on my way. I'm sorry this place isn't closer to where I live because I'd eat here all the time. But it is close enough where I'll swing by when I'm headed up north. Thanks for a good meal, Martha's. We discovered Martha's when we were asked to Holiday decorate the restaurant (Flowers by Marianne). Everything I have had there has been so delicious! The haddock Special wrap was amazing. You have to love the owners. They put their hearts into their food. They are native Lebanese and constantly talk about how much they LOVE America. Who doesn't love a patriot! They make a decent falafel. But most of the food is just OK. I still prefer Pauly's Pockets in Durham (when you're lucky enough to have your food fresh.) The folks at Martha's are Slowwwwww. Even when I call ahead on a slow night I still end up waiting 20 minutes for a basic Falafel. I love it when the two owners (husband & wife) bicker with each other. They are so cute together. This is the yummiest, Lebanese restaurant on the Seacoast. I love the first Syrian bread, and the stuffed cabbage on my favorite, but everything is yummy! No exaggeration, George the owner is the nicest and kindest person you'll ever meet. I don't know how this place has five stars. I had to start out by saying that the people working there and the staff are extremely friendly and nice. The place is small, but has reasonable seating. But the food was so inauthentic and bland. We got the chicken Shawarma plate and the meat tasted like it was from a can. The portions for medium sized, but the prices were high. read more

On a day trip to Portsmouth from Boston's got hungry around lunchtime and looked on Yelp for a place to stop. My wife is Lebanese-American, so eating Lebanese food out is risky at best...too often her cooking is better than what we are served. Not here. Martha's is like eating at her grandmother's house. The food is authentic, amazing, quick, and substantial. The kibbee, grape leaves, hummus and fattoush are all perfect. We will be making the trip here from Boston just to eat here, I have no doubt. read more

From the food to the adorable friendliestness of the older male owner & the fact they don't let you pay until after you are done eating if you dine in, or one of the outdoor picnic tables. The food was outstanding & my very FUSSY set in her ways adult daughter ordered a burger & he explained it doesn't come on a bun they wrap it in pita. I was shocked when she said it was o.k. I ordered a chicken kabob with rice & salad. It was very good! The salad dressing was outstanding especially because I LOVE an acidic lemon juice punch! The herbs were also perfectly balanced. We found this place on Yelp and as usual weren't disappointed. Everything was made to order and amazing. Started with grape leaves and hummus... The grape leaves were still hot! Amazing. On to salads with authentic dressing... Yum yum yum. Entrees, lamb, chicken (both on a kabob) and falafel... Joe and Martha's small shack of a restaurant are part of the American landscape on the way to fish and chips and the beach in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire. A few of us are lucky enough to find this Lebanese American gem in the middle of series of strip malls and auto dealers. I had the daily special of Loubee, string beans stewed with lamb and tomato sauce over a bed of rice. It was rich and wonderfully salty which was mellowed out by the rice and pita bread. A salad was also served which came with fattoush dressing which made what would have been a bland bowl of lettuce and cucumbers into something delicious and fresh. Joe talked with customers as they came in and everyone knew each other by name. The other special of the day was stuffed eggplant. I am definitely going back soon. Travel to and working regularly in the area and have a large selection of restaurants to choose from, but keep returning to Martha's! Absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I drove through town on a Saturday night coming back to Massachusetts from Maine and while the posted hours show open until 9pm and it was 730pm, Joe and Martha, very regretfully, informed us that they had to close early for personal reasons but they were not about to send us away without feeding us. They made sure to give us a meal with a complementary beverage and salad for our 'trouble' and while they cooked for us and cleaned up for the night, we sat outside at the picnic tables eating as the food came hot off the stove. They were very nice and so helpful. The amount of care and heart that went into our meal and ensuring that we ate well and didn't leave hungry...is heart warming to say the least. The service alone is enough to bring me back 10 times again and I haven't even touched on the food yet. It was incredible! The lamb was amazing! The char was impeccable, the texture was soft and melted in your mouth. Hands down some of the best lamb I've ever tasted. It wasn't drowned with seasoning or spices. The lamb was presented modestly and gave a wonderful flavor on its own merit. The rice pilaf was soft and gentle in the mouth and went well with the lamb kebob. A side salad with a lovely vinaigrette and an amazing stack of pita bread to top it all off. I highly, whole heartedly, and very gratefully recommend Martha's to anyone and everyone for a lovely place to eat, with amazing food, and owners that make you feel like family, and feed you like it too! read more
