Extremely new to New Hampshire I was excited to try a local spot. The parking lot was packed and was so full of people that you were afraid that you would get Covid from someone! Our server was very new and she didn't know a lot of basic questions. The food took a LONG time to come (saw much of it just sitting in the window) and was pretty underwhelming. We were told that the fish and the clams were fresh. We liked the lobster roll, but the other food was maybe just what a standard diner would have. Nothing to write home about and nothing I would revisit unfortunately. I'm glad it's a local place that local people enjoy but as a visitor, it wasn't something that I was drawn to because it was so packed in the food was mediocre at best. read more

Good portions, cute spot! Great for kids, since they have model airplanes hanging on a track that runs around the restaurant, and you can see airplanes fly off through the windows. Parking is a little hard, and it can get busy. Definitely come early! read more

I very much enjoying having breakfast at this place! My crab cake Benedict was perfect and the way I prefer it with hollandaise sauce on the side. My friend enjoyed her Jumbo Jet and couldn't believe the size of her side pancake. It is a very busy place and our server was quick to take our order and bring our bill. There were plenty of other servers around re-filling our coffee cup and water so it worked out. The Cinnamon French toast was disgusting. It had a thick crust of cinnamon on top that literally looked like a turd. And between the two pieces was a thick coating of glaze that was sickly sweet and the whole thing was just a turn off. read more

I was very impressed with this place. Airplane themed decor with an overhead carousel of airplanes. A landing strip is right outside the restaurant. Service was good. The prices were average. The fried haddock sandwich was the worst haddock sandwich. It was nothing better than buying a prepackaged haddock at your local grocery store. It was just a frozen haddock fried and put on a bun. Also, extremely noisy. I was unable to hear the people that were with me. I also was a bit concerned with the food hygiene from the servers. Saw many servers touching other surfaces, credit cards and money. Never washed hands before serving food. read more

Everything about The Airfield Cafe is great and unique. I've both lived and visited this area for much of my life, although now overseas. I have nothing but good to say about this place from the atmosphere to the service to everything about it. I love the physical plant here with plenty of outside seating and probably about 15 to 20 tables/booths inside along with a bar that has no less than 10 seats. Sit at the bar and you can see all the action in the kitchen. If you're lucky, you'll see the occasional plane taking off but I'm pretty sure there's more activity on the airfield in later morning. Overhead you have a variety of large model airplanes flying by, many of which appear to be functional, if you're into that hobby. Constantly circling the entire restaurant, they travel at probably around .01 mph. Today's fare was a build your own omelette, with two eggs, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, and Swiss cheese. Home fried potatoes, and sourdough bread to top things off. A hardy standard. Unlike a lot of restaurants nowadays post Covid there is plenty of staff here, and in fact, the servers are tripping over each other. As a result, the coffee is never ending and someone is constantly at your table offering a refill. I love it. This comes highly recommended for kids of all ages from 3 to 93. What a cute breakfast place! We were wrapping up a short mom's getaway weekend (read: 24 hrs in Hampton Beach) and after some googling, found this option. The wait was relatively short for prime-time on a Sunday morning (15min) and we got to sit outdoors look at the planes and chat before we went in. The food was delicious! We each got something different; pastrami Benedict special, morning glory (I think? 2-egg breakfast), and also the 2-egg breakfast with French toast, and we got pancakes for the table/to share. Service was excellent- we even added some souvenir mugs to our bill so commemorate what might be the first and last (for a while) kid free "vacation" we all will get to have. I plan to make a Sunday day-trip up with the kid some other time, I think he would get a kick out of all the planes on the ceiling, and real planes taking off and landing outside the window too!! read more

I grew up going to the Airfield Café and was so excited to return after all these years. In many ways, it was just as wonderful--if not better--than I remembered. The food was great, the service warm, and watching the planes take off and land out the big windows was still so special. It was however incredibly disappointing to see that, between every set of windows, a screen has now been installed in each booth, playing social media clips on a loop. Instead of looking out at the runway or talking with the people you came with, your eyes are constantly drawn to these bright, distracting videos. It feels completely out of place in a spot that people visit precisely to slow down, enjoy a meal, and take in the view. There are so few spaces left where people can truly be present--sharing a meal, conversation, and a view of the runway without the noise of constant media. I really hope the café reconsiders the screens and restores the nostalgic experience that has made it such a beloved spot for so many years, because having social media videos looping inches from your face completely breaks that atmosphere. read more

We had a good breakfast here. The decor is fun, especially for plane enthusiasts, as it has a loop of models that course through the air. We sat at the counter. The server was quick and attentive. My husband had the Eggs Benedict with home fries. He liked it so much he said he would come back the next day. I had the Western Omelette sandwich and home fries. My last review was 2022. It's definitely time for an update! A group of us ( 10-14 depending) have been meeting here monthly for some time. They do not take any reservations, but with a group help us out with call-ahead seating. I phone them a good 2 hours before we want to be seated and it's been working out quite well! The service has been outstanding each time we visit. The food just as good -especially the coffee. Let me add that their (NH's) Blue Harbor Coffee is so fresh it's roasted right there just across the parking area. Can you get fresher than that? Maybe... At so many venues when they take on serving a large group there's usually some glitch that just happens. Or one or more diner's food arrives cold -or just not as expected, the service so-so etc. So far this hasn't been the case. I have no idea how they do it? but each plate has come to the table presented well and piping hot.. all 10-14 of them! I wanted to have breakfast here last year but didn't make it. This year on vacation my sons and I were able to have breakfast. I thought that the food was really good, pancake fluffy and the butter yummy. I would love to know what type of tea they use because all I remember is orange black tea or something. It was good. I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, it was fun. We went outside after and waited for some planes to fly. Our server Brandin A. was helpful and polite. The Airfield Café is a diner that puts other diners to shame. This is a fun place with atmosphere. It's big, airy, and wood-paneled with handsome tables, booths, and a bar. Its large windows look out on Hampton Airfield. Its ceilings boast a track with airplanes (some whimsical, others upside down) circulating slowly overhead. The food (standard diner fare) and very friendly service leave nothing to be desired. Outside seating in the warmer months. Ample parking. Just off Route 1 in North Hampton and well worth a detour for a delightful breakfast, brunch, or lunch. read more

So at our 1st opportunity we checked it out....Glad we did! The place was very busy when we arrived but we lucked out on some bar seats. We love the interior atmosphere with all the aircraft paraphernalia, plus they were playing vintage 1960's film footage of jet landings on aircraft carriers...Super Cool! For breakfast I ordered the Avocado Toast special & my wife went with the grilled Veggie Breakfast Wrap...both were very good. Also FYI... Service was prompt & polite. Such a hidden gem on the airfield place has both tables and booths with plenty of sitting they also have a bar as well. The service is excellent both the waiters and waitresses are excellent and friendly. Wonderful restaurant by a small airstrip. The food is delicious and plentiful. We had breakfast there two days in a row and enjoyed seeing the model airplanes moving overhead. MY FAVORITE BREAKFAST SPOT. The wait might be long, and the one breakfast room they have is very crowded with tables close together and small but it is worth it! The waitress's are young girls with a few older ladies thrown in, all of them being overly nice. I enjoy that sweets here. My go to is the crepes with butter and powder sugar but i ask them to throw on some oreo crumbles and it is delicious! another one of my favorites is the cinnamon streusel french toast it is very sweet yet delicious! read more
