First mention goes to the charming and personality-packed Campbell, our waiter and absolute value-add to our evening. Nothing is better than feeling that there's immediate rapport with whoever will be crafting your time at whichever restaurant and at whatever price point. Our anniversary is on the 13th (I know, what was I thinking) so we rarely speak about it to avoid puzzled looks. So on we went, my husband getting his half dozen oysters and me the whipped warm feta (literally I could've stopped there). Note: Tino's has switched pickle juice into the mignonette sauce so if that isn't your taste the chef can, and did, make up a more purist version. The Cod came with a green crab demi but I was really in a lemon mood, and it was a gorgeous sauce substitute all sitting on top of risotto prepared legitimately al dente. The Cod was a fabulous white fish crisped up perfectly at the edges. Just simply delicious. My husband chose the Pumpkin Ravioli, a favorite, and reported that although he felt that the filling amount was less than in the past, it was still delicious. Absolutely no room for dessert and we were surprised with an anniversary treat of having the feta appetizer become the 'gift' and removed from the bill. Such a lovely touch. Tino's has always been one of our favorite restaurants. A year or two ago, I would have given them 5 stars. Sadly, they seem to have forgotten what made them great! The char-grilled lamb lollipops and the lamb shank used to be part of the Greek influence that made Tino's exceptional. For some reason, they have stripped down the menu and changed all the things that we liked. The lamb chops are no longer char-grilled bites of excellence, but were smothered in a curry sauce. The lamb shank was replaced by a lamb stew -- not the same! Last time we were there, we ordered the octopus appetizer. Delicious, but it was a microscopic portion. The bread plate was minimal. The restaurant seem to be distancing themselves from their Greek origin, but that's a huge mistake! Even their non-Greek dishes that were SO good are gone. Their Cacio e Pepe used to be outstanding. Gone from the menu. The menu tonight was just...OK... like so many other restaurants, but not great! What's gone wrong? New management, new chef? Whatever it is, please bring back the Tino's that we used to love! The bar used to be crowded every night of the week and we were lucky to get a reservation. Tonight, we had no problem getting a reservation. There were empty seats at the bar and empty tables. On the positive side, the bartender and the drinks were great! I hope the restaurant remembers why they used to be great. We will come back to see if things have gotten better, but not right away -- only after giving the restaurant some time to remember its identity. read more

4.5 stars for beautiful ambiance and impeccable service. The bartender is creative and the drinks were a hit. We had You Had Me At Hello, a bourbon and passionfruit drink that went down real nice, and Whiskey In The Jar, which was smokey and delightful (Bartender must be a Metallica fan). We'd return just to try more of the unique drinks. The mussels we had for the appetizer were excellent. The broth was perfect for dipping the generous portion of bread. But, our two fish entrees were just OK. Overall, we feel the chef is indiscriminate with salt. The cod was under salted, overcooked, chewy, and the fries that came with the trout were too salty to eat. Dinner ended with complimentary Madeleines and a shot of Limoncello. Went with a gray so we pretty much ordered everything there is and we got an excellent idea of what the restaurant had to offer. For apps we got 2 mezze plate with feta dip and let me just say the feta dip was the best thing all night. 1 calamari app, 1 spanakopita, 1 meat ball app. The calamari was cold and over cooked. The mezze plate was not worth the price. For dinner I had the lamb chops n grill led octopus, smallest lamb chops I've ever seen (from a baby lamb I presume) and overcooked so that was a fail. 3 Others has the filet and it was cooked well but the outside was charred. 2 others has the so called paella and that was a bowl of sloppy mess. 1 other had the cod and that was the driest, toughest piece of fish. 1 other had the salmon, not sure what she thought but I was done with collecting reviews by that point. For dessert the Greek donuts aka donut holes were good as they were made fresh and the churro aka donut wasn't actually churro but that was tasty with the hazelnut ice cream. Not sure why a Mediterranean restaurant has churro on its dessert menu but ok at this point. Also had the pot de crème which was ok but all pot de crème are just ok, fancy chocolate pudding in my humble opinion. The best oysters and calamari I have EVER had! Everyone seems to work as a team and we were asked frequently if we needed something, not to the level of annoying. If you go first time diners get a few thoughtful things for free. Our waitress Kate took our order and made our drinks. Kitchen is open and clean! We ordered four entrees advertised as gluten free, after specifying we have celiac disease. Every single one tested positive for gluten. Strongly positive in the case of the lamb shank, indicating more than just contamination. Are they marinating it in soy sauce (which is fermented wheat) we wonder? Their kitchen will make celiac people ill. For celiac sufferers that means destruction of their small intestine, no small thing. An expensive meal we can't eat. read more

Really great place for a date! The decor is nice, and the food is spectacular. My absolute favorite was the octopus appetizer, which came with this creamy sauce and delicious mushrooms, and it wasn't rubbery at all, as most places make it! The oysters were spot on. Of the entrees, I really enjoyed the lamb shank- it was so tender and fell off the bone. It paired really well with the mint yoghurt sauce it came with. I only wish it came with a bit more sides. The seafood pasta was also great, the mussels were so delicious! Naturally, we ordered dessert, and the chocolate pot was amazing, it's like chocolate mousse with a dollop of creme on top, very chocolatey and smooth. Tino's is probably the best restaurant in Hampton NH. Located above the Galley Hatch restaurant, a long time favorite in Hampton, Tinos' provides a more sophisticated dining experience. The food used to lean toward Greek, but you'll now find a wide range of Mediterranean dishes on the menu. Cocktails and service have been consistently great. Chef GJ is talented and turns out great food. The dining room is beautiful, and there is even a chefs table if preferred. There is outdoor dining on a deck with a great firepit as well. The menu changes frequently enough, and there is often a special menu, so there are always new things to try. If you are in Hampton NH, and looking for a more refined dining experience, this is your place. read more

The first three visits were extraordinary, but then it became inconsistent. The portions changed and I no longer looked forward to the Foie Gras appetizer when that happened. It's hit or miss with the favorite dishes you expect to be the same when you return. On a good day, it's excellent. On an off day, very disappointing. The food at Tinos is remarkable for its eclectic variety and imaginative presentation. (For example, mezze small plates with seared sea scallops or mushrooms served with marrow in halved beef bones.) The night we ate at Tinos there was skate on the menu, something one almost never sees in North America, and it was delicious. The wait staff is knowledgeable and pleasantly efficient. The noise level is moderate, enabling intimate conversation. The food and service and the dancing flames of the gas hearth more than make up for the lack of a view (other than of the ample but busy parking lot) and justify the upscale prices. read more

I didn't take enough photos because the food was just unbelievable. It can be hard to find a noteworthy meal here in New Hampshire but this filled the void. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the food as well. We ordered so much more food than this and it was all delicious! Atmosphere was nice too, low key but high end at the same time. My girlfriend and I decided to come here during our beach getaway. We wanted to try something new. Upon arriving, we got a little confused and accidentally went into the Galley Hatch restaurant. The hostess was super nice and assured us that people make that mistake often. We elected to sit outside. The seating was super nice and we loved the decor. Our waiter, Mike, was awesome. However, even though the service was good, the food was lackluster. We started off with the warm feta dip and the complimentary bread. The dip was okay, but I wish they added something to offset the creaminess of the cheese. I got the Lamb and Goat bolognese, which was okay. The meat was extremely tender, but the sauce was so-so. My girlfriend got the Chicken Kebab (which included the village salad and greek rice). She enjoyed the chicken and the salad, but the rice was a little bland and crunchy. We ordered a steak that was supposed to be Medium Rare and it was barely cooked. The taste was decent but it was cooked unevenly and not medium rare. The Lobster Carbonara was easily the worst carbonara I've ever had. It was not creamy or cheesy like a carbonara should be. It tasted like buttered noodles. Zero flavor. Same with the Cacio De Pepe. These are supposed to be rich pasta dishes with big cheese and creamy flavor. They missed big on these dishes. Was very underwhelmed with food. The cod was an extremely small portion for the price charged and the lobster risotto was completely tasteless. The island of Tinos was once a roost for pirates, who capitalized on the tumult of the region in the 1800s. The only piracy that occurred upon my visit to Tinos was the pork chops, which stole my heart. This is without a doubt a fine establishment capable of unthinkable crimes of succulence. The teeming environment created a sort of trendy buzz. My biggest takeaway from the atmosphere was actually the lighting. It is refreshingly bright, a place you truly feel awake and able to see 10 feet in front of you. Similar high-end restaurants commonly drown their surroundings with "intimate darkness." Not here (to great effect). The music droning through Tinos could use some work. For what felt like at least 2 hours, an acoustic guitar solo rung throughout the place. It's typically not a good thing to notice the music in a restaurant, and this guitar riff sounded like a teen first learning the instrument. We delight in knowing a boy is venturing into the arts, but don't need to hear his raw practice session while wining and dining. Speaking of dining, the food here is lights out. Upon my first dance with the pork chops, I literally had to sit back and think about what just happened. It's the instant "that's one of the best things I've ever eaten" feelings. Perhaps the strangest aspect of Tinos was the people. I don't want to come off as too negative because the food really is THAT GOOD, but the staff? Still unsure if they were humans or androids. Our server, a young woman who I will not name, was almost lifeless. Our attempts to break through her steely veneer failed and only increased the ice-cold armor she had bolted up. The bus boy, Rowan, swung in the other direction. He was jovial, or at least his words were jovial, but his tone of voice and mannerisms felt like even he might be artificial intelligence..or maybe wanted to kill us right then and there. One of the two. The great relief was a bow-tied man who I believe is a manager. I literally said aloud to my tablemates, "well, at least there's this awesome guy!" Not 10 seconds later I witnessed him plunging a bare finger dead-center into someone's yet-to-be-served food, presumably to check its temperature, but Jesus Christ dude. Never meet your heroes. Well, I'd say come here for the grub. The finger-in-food incident notwithstanding, for eats this good it's worth ignoring the potential robot invasion that has proliferated the staff. read more

Overall the meal was excellent! We especially loved the filet, the oysters, the sparerib pasta for dinner! Table side drinks are an awesome idea but it would be great if they expanded their explanations with some information about the type of liquor, the ingredients, maybe even a little more general information about the type of drink. It's neat to watch the drink made at the table, but adding some stronger explanation will enhance the experience a ton. The macaroni and cheese tasted a lot like butter and bread crumbs but the bearnaise sauce was awesome and so was the cheese plate for an appetizer! Incredible food and drinks. If you're looking for an exquisite meal or cocktail that has genuinely had time and effort put into it, this is the established entertainment for you. The wood fired grill is highly unique and adds a flavor that cannot be found elsewhere in the seacoast area. Pro tip: filet with foie gras is the best steak I've ever had HANDS DOWN! The drinks also outstanding. Every one of them is carefully concocted and the final result is a perfectly balanced and unique beverage which should only be found in the likes of NYC and other major metropolitan areas.
