Popped by last-minute while passing on the nearby highway. Saw the great Yelp reviews and drove out of our way to come here when driving from NY to Maine. I guess we showed up a little later in the day from when there is a huge selection, but there was still a few choices to choose from. The cold sesame noodles with sweet chili sauce was WONDERFUL! I would love to have them again some day if in the area again. Both people working there were so friendly and made us feel very welcome to sit and eat in their restaurant (it appears it is more for takeout for locals). To be honest, with a lot of questionable places to eat in and around town, Wild Garlic certainly is a little out of place. But chalk that up to a changing demographic and owners like Elizabeth who pop onto the scene with a fresh idea from the heart that resonates. For me its one of my local lunch spots. I've been here more than a dozen times and can count on great tasting food that is not stuffed with fat and all sorts of evil and unnatural ingredients. Tempt your pallet ( or expand your mind ) with highly crafted Tofu creations, exotic soups, vegetable medley's, rice noodle thing-a-ma-bobs with good stuff in them and some other stuff I don't even know what it is but it tastes great. Prices are decent. Usually around $6.95 tp $8.95/lb. And Elizabeth has really been mixing it up lately with some new hot items, breads and some smashing desserts. Its just high quality stuff at the right place and the right time. No five stars here simply from the fact that its super cozy with hardly any place to sit. 95% "To Go" Which is fine most of the time, but sometimes when its raining and you walk over it would be cool to be able to grab a stool and relax a bit. I have never had bad food from this place. Admittedly it's a small shop with a finite menu so my advice has always been go early and go often because it is delicious! I've had the tofu, the spicy noodles, and a variety of the veggies in here and never once let down. It's nearly an hour from my home so whenever I get to Amesbury I try and stop in. Thanks Yelp! We were passing through and hungry for a healthy lunch. This is a keeper find. The selection was perhaps 8-9 dishes and changes daily. Between the two of us we tried 6 of them, all delicious, and could not pass up the plum custard with raspberry sauce. Yum!!! Best food ever! Elizabeth makes everything fresh each day! Her food is to die for! She has 30 years experience working in the food industry and it shows! They accept credit cards and cash and there is parking out front and in the back. The owner has something different each day. Her soups, salads, pastas, sandwiches, bread everything is made fresh that day and she uses local farm veggies! She also has Tofu! Her tomato soup is so good and she always has a desert too! Wild Garlic is a small take-out place that offers a nice selection of vegetarian offerings that are done to perfection. I can order anything and know I will love it, and usually I am amazed. My favorite dish is the Spicy Noodles which can be eaten cold or warmed up. The owner makes everything fresh daily and it is evident. Whatever is concocted for a sandwich on any given day is a must and the focaccia bread is incredible. I have never had better. I am not a vegetarian, but no matter, food that is this tasty transcends all that. There is always a nice offering of well balanced, nutritious foods with plenty of protein. This is a small place, so the offerings are limited and some items sell out quickly, and there's a reason for that. Wild Garlic serves superb food at very reasonable prices. You simply have to try it, and if you aren't sure what to get, they will gladly suggest an array of items that go together perfectly. This is a brilliant gem of a place!!! read more

I'm all for fried foods and burgers but you won't find any of that here. There is always a daily soup -- as I write this review the soup is a finely-chopped mixture of fennel and arborio rice. There are also platters of salads, tofu, noodles, beans, etc; that you can buy at set prices or by the quarter-pound or such. You can choose from eating the food cold warm up in your microwave. She also has a microwave on-premises if you prefer. It's all delicious so go on and say hi. read more

Tofu is good, just as reviews state, but not mind blowing. Being a vegetarian I'm picky about my tofu so I'm being pretty hard, so it will probably taste pretty good to you if you don't eat tofu regularly. The spicy noodles are definitely worth trying. I can't give 5 stars though because the hours the store is open are not very predictable and I've come by a few times and it's been closed, so try to call before you come. Yelp says they close at 5 pm, but Google Maps says they close at 2 pm. I asked the owner and she usually closes when she runs out of food, which she says is usually around 3 or 4 pm. There is a nice park with a waterfall right behind the store where you can sit outside and eat your food as there are only 4 seats inside the store. read more

A healthy version of Take-out. We fondly refer to the shop as the 'Noodle Lady's Place'. She fresh makes her dishes every day, so the selection changes constantly. Items are portioned out of large bowls, so what you see in the cooler is what is on your plate. Everything is priced by weight and tends to be between $7 - $9 per Lb. for items in the bowls, and $3 - $6 dollars for any sandwiches or grilled items available. All dishes are vegetarian, some might be vegan. As I'm not on a vegan diet I don't know for sure and haven't asked. Sometimes there are grilled sandwiches, my favorite is the grilled tomato and cheese on wheat bread. My boyfriend loves the peanut noodles. I've seen Asian, German, an Mediterranean dishes,the variety is wonderful. I love having somewhere to get affordable takeout that isn't just pizza or fried food. We went in on a Sunday afternoon and had the most enjoyable dinner we have had since moving to Amesbury. This is a tiny gem that I will go to over any restaurant in the area. The food was fantastic - vegetarian but delicious and filling enough that we didnt notice. We had quinoa salad flavored mostly with dill (it had some veggies in it but the texture and flavor were amazing); a focaccia sandwich with tomatoes, a little olive spread, basil, mozzarella and a few other ingredients - i usually hate those kinda sandwiches because they are hard to bite into, but this one was soft and delicious; and a filling lentil soup with a flavor I was honestly astounded by. The menu changes all the time and seems to showcase local foods when possible. The service was fantastic - this is a TINY little store but Ms. Fischer makes you feel right at home and attended to.
