We happened to drive by here when we were on the way to Sprouts and saw the tented lights in the parking lot. We drove up and saw the cutest little taco truck set up. They even had a table so you could sit down and eat if you wanted to. When I walked up I saw 2 people working-- one of which happened to be the owner's daughter Stephanie who was taking orders. First question-- Was it cash only? She instantly answered and said no, they accepted cards and Apple Pay. Perfect. Because if I needed to, I would have walked over to the ATM on the other side of the parking lot. I ordered a Carne Asada Super Burrito ($12.50 + tax= $13.66) to share and Stephanie asked me what kind of sauce I wanted. I answered and said the 'orange' because I was curious to see what their take on it would be. After splitting the burrito down in half and taking my first bite, I already knew. This place is legit bomb. I made sure not to use any of the orange sauce first because I wanted to see how it tasted on its own. I was not disappointed. The carne asada was super tender. It was almost like they slow cooked the meat and then fried it up. That kind of tender. The rice was fluffy and seasoned, and the beans (which are always a deal breaker for me if not done right) were done perfectly. With the finely chopped fresh onions, salsa +cilantro and the best part-- freshly sliced avocados with melted cheese--- OMG. Oh and the orange sauce? Also bomb. I haven't tasted an orange sauce like this one before since everyone does it a bit differently. Their take had a fresh squeezed lime taste in it along with the spicy hot that I love to pour over burritos. I took every bite thinking to myself, Is this really just that good? The answer? Yes. Coincidentally I tried the Taqueria El Milagro food truck in San Juan Bautista last week, so I had a basis for a direct comparison. Mi Lindo Apatzingan is located in a foody lot off First Street. I counted 15 separate food trucks, plus a stage, a bouncy house, a covered seating area, and even a small bar. I was there early, but there was music playing, kids in the bouncy house, and it felt like a fun place. During the time I was there, Mi Lindo Apatzingan seemed to be doing the best business. Some of the other reviews I read complained about slow service. All I can say is that the service was really friendly and the food came out fast. I order tacos de asada. They were really good, but the tortillas were a little dry. They were not quite as good as the tacos de asada I had at Taqueria El Milagro. But here's a big difference: the order cost $18. In San Juan Bautista, they were $11, and because I got them on "taco Thursday" they were $6. My friend had the carne asada platter. He said the beef was a little bland (but he didn't use any salsa). The rice was good, but the beans were a little watery. I realized afterwards I should have tried the birria - I'll get that next time. Bottom Line: * Fast, friendly service * Fun, family-friendly atmosphere * Lots of other choices if Mi Lindo Apatzingan doesn't appeal to you * Food was good, but not (in my opinion) "best in the Bay Area" level. Looking around more closely, there was a shrimp shell on the floor under our seat, broken floor tiles, massive accumulations of dirt in the corners, and a thick layer of dust around the register. The atmosphere wasn't welcoming. The chef seemed openly irritated that we were there, and while the cashier was polite, they were completely preoccupied. We still held out hope that the food would live up to our memories, but it was a major letdown. My parents' enchiladas arrived cold and were so incredibly salty that neither of them could even finish half of their meal. I ordered the Super Pastorino burrito, which was also overwhelmingly salty, and the bacon inside tasted undercooked. All of these stay steeped while the bone marrow releases its natural beef flavor into the broth. I feel like the birria pho should really be called birria bo kho. Though not even remotely close, but the simple interpretation is that it is a stewed soup. My only gripe was that there was a ton of the consume, but barely any noodles. The birria portion was quite generous. Suggest they use wide rice noodles instead, too. The quesitaco was delicious. The winner of the meal was their creamy green salsa. It was delightfully spicy. One of the techs recommended Reynita, so I took the short walk and found a cute little trailer with lots of customers. I tried my favorite, chili reyano, which was freshly made and tasted fantastic! Every time I go there, I have tried different items-tacos, burrito, daily special, whatever was on the menu. Today I had the cheese quesadilla, which had great quality cheese in it. They also have an excellent selection of drinks. The grounds and truck are kept very clean. They are extremely customer focused! Although it is to go food, they have a small covered area with tables and chairs, which is usually occupied. The staff operating the business are very friendly with great attitudes. They always offer suggestions, answer questions, and thank me every time I come. I feel that the pricing of the food is fair.
