CURRENT state of our cabinets after repairs were made.

I waited awhile to write a review to give Martin Cabinet the opportunity to do the right thing, but sadly we had a horrible experience using them. We did a full kitchen renovation on our new home back in October. We worked with Tony to create the perfect layout for the space we had. He was great to work with at that point, then everything shifted downhill. Once the install happened it was a nightmare. Two younger, very inexperienced individuals came to install the cabinets in November 2019. It would take me all day to list the MANY things wrong with our cabinets, not to mention they didn't bring enough supplies to even finish the job that day. In fact, when the "repair guy" came out to look following our complaints he stated he was "embarrassed" that Martin Cabinet did this work in the first place and it would be hard to fix. They also asked if when the repairs were made to correct the mistakes, if we wanted someone else other than the same guys who installed them to come back and do the repairs... how they are still employed by them after this is beyond me. The biggest error was dropping one of the larger cabinets on our BRAND NEW hardwood floor and creating two huge dents in the floor (right in the middle of our kitchen). Their solve was paying for the repairs needed to the floor company, but the floors were brand new and our floor guys said it was not repairable. We had the initial round of "repairs" made on the cabinets, but they were far from what we had expected. After repeatedly calling Martin Cabinets to talk to a manager, which I still to this day have never been in contact with, someone came back out again to look at the cabinets. Due to work that was needed, their solve initially was to rip the cabinets out due to the poor paint job, and paint them off site and then re-install later. By doing this they could not guarantee that our brand new floors and ceiling would not get damaged in the process. We argued that was not an option and we couldn't afford any more damages or the headache all of this would cause. The only other option was to have them sand and repaint in our house - which left a complete mess and now, months later, looks exactly like it did in the first place. The repairs they did were cover-ups. Cover-ups of very poor work. We spent thousands on these brand new cabinets to receive a product that was poorly constructed AND installed. If I could go back and do it all over again, I would have spent double the amount and worked with another company that actually knew what they were doing. Also note, that when we picked out our crown molding they failed tell us it was specially made. When we went to match the molding for the rest of our kitchen we contacted them and found out only they could match what was installed and they wanted to charge us $7 per linear foot (compared to the most expensive options we found in lumbar yards was $2 per linear foot). So now, we are left with mismatched molding in our kitchen. The worst part about our experience was the lack of concern for these mistakes and how they treated us. No apologies, no concern for the damage that was done, no solve to fix anything. I should not have been the one to track them down time and time again to find answers or solutions. Taking 100% of my money upfront even before install was a huge sign of what was to come. I've included photos of just a few of the mistakes to give you an idea of their work, including how they look today, after all the "repairs." Have they called to check in on the repairs they made and if we were satisfied? Absolutely not.

We purchased cabinets for 19,000 dollars and thought we were going to get well made custom cabinets. We wanted the basic white cabinet. The paint job done by martin's was awful. Some of the shelves the wood was showing through. Some of the cabinets had dents and dings in them and had to be touched up and you know how bad touch ups look. When the cabinets were installed the draws were misaligned, doors crooked base cabinets crooked. It was a hack job. They had to come back twice to fix stuff so I had to take two more days off work. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

We had them replace the ripped porch screens, power wash railings, roof, and the entire exterior of the house, as well as clean the gutters. They also replaced our old lousy gutter guards. Rudy did several walk arounds with me during the project to show me the progress and point out areas of concern, such as places where there were gaps in the existing deck trim that had caused water damage under the fascia. They were able to replace all of the rotting boards and added new trim to cover the gaps, which we hadn't planned on, but it made the deck much more sound and looks great, even better than before! He also pointed out that a number of our other old window screens around the house were frayed or torn, and offered to replace them while they were there, at a very fair price. The entire deck/porch looks new again. His team took care to carefully clean up the work site before they left. This is a family business, and they were consistently kind and very responsive. We will definitely use them again for future projects.

***AVOID THIS COMPANY!!***…read more I hired George as a contractor for a home renovation involving multiple tiling projects, and while the work eventually got done, the overall experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and very disappointing. There were multiple delays which lasted weeks with shifting deadlines that were promised and then repeatedly missed. Communication was poor, and instead of taking accountability for clear project management failures, George consistently deflected blame onto me as the customer. He even accused me of going behind his back when I simply responded to his subcontractor's phone call--after he himself had been unresponsive and told me to reach out to them. When I raised concerns and tried to resolve things respectfully, George responded with personal insults, manipulative language, and completely contradictory statements. What he said over the phone rarely matched what he put in writing. Fortunately, I've kept a full written record of everything and it shows how poorly this job was handled. If any future clients have questions about my experience, I'd be happy to share documentation privately. It became clear throughout the process that George only cared about getting paid, not about the quality of the experience, the delays, or how he mistreated his clients. Once payment became the topic, all professionalism went out the window. I wouldn't be surprised if George tries to respond to this honest review with more deflection or spin, that's been my experience throughout. George is not only unprofessional, he's untrustworthy and manipulative. I highly recommend you look elsewhere. **EDIT:** See what I mean? This response is exactly why I left the review in the first place. Instead of handling things professionally, George resorts to name-calling, twisting the story, and acting like the victim. I never went behind his back, he told me to speak to the subcontractor, and I picked up the phone when that person called me. That's not "cutting him out," that's literally following his direction. Let's get the facts straight: 1. I happened to be in my own home when George's plumber arrived. His plumber is the one who failed to coordinate with George, not me. As my texts show, I communicated clearly and in good faith with George throughout the process. 2. It's standard practice to replace plumbing fixtures, like the shower head and valves, when retiling a shower. This isn't a "change order," it's just part of doing the job right. I don't know anyone who remodels a shower and leaves old fixtures in place. 3. George's subcontractor's delay doesn't make sense. The shower head is typically one of the last things to be installed. There was no valid reason why tile work couldn't continue while waiting for the plumber to finish. I paid what I owed, communicated clearly, and dealt with missed deadline after missed deadline. Everything is in writing. The fact that he calls me "ungrateful" and a "nightmare" for holding him accountable just proves my point. If this is how he handles criticism, imagine how he handles your project!! Look elsewhere!!

I'd like to be able to review this company on the quality of their actual paving work but…read moreunfortunately I am unable to do that. What I can review is the quality of their customer service which is technically a zero, but 1 Star is the minimum I can enter. On May 25, 2019 we booked with them to replace our driveway and walk way. Up to that point they were "Johnny on the Spot" coming out, assessing the work, quoting the job. Their quote was a bit more than others but my husband had a good feeling about the owner and decided to go with this company. (Plus, they offer a senior discount which would have put our cost more in line with their competitors.) At the time of booking we were told they'd be out to dig up our driveway on Monday, July 15. On July 15, I took the day off from work awaiting their arrival. . . They never showed. I finally called around 3:00, got voicemail, left a detailed message asking for a call back to either me or my husband leaving both numbers. Neither of us ever received a call. My husband reached out again the following day and finally spoke with someone about 24 hours later. They offered no apology or explanation for completely blowing us off they just said something about having to contact utilities prior to digging (So that hadn't even been done yet) and "rescheduled" for today, Monday, August, 5. Between then and now we're not even sure that any utilities have been to our home to mark for digging. There are some marks on our driveway but the water company is doing work up the street and has painted marks up and down our street so we're not sure if the marks painted on our driveway are part of that or for our driveway replacem So taking them at their word again, my husband didn't go to work yet and has been pacing around the house getting more and more upset and needless to say, we've received no call to confirm whether or not they're coming. My husband has called them to ask but no one answered so he left a message. I just told him to go to work because there's no sense using a day off to sit around the house being pissed. I'm going about my vacation day - If they come, they come and if one of us is here, we're here. Why should we extend anys more courtesy to this company than they are will to extend to their customers. I get it. We're not the largest job they'll have. And the probably prefer to spend their energies on more lucrative customers, but I believe that your actions not your words define your character and if you give a promise to be somewhere and/or do something you have an obligation to be there and do it. And if you can't, you need to communicate with the people who are counting on you. They may be very skilled at actual paving and I hope to some day soon be able to tell you that they did a fantastic job replacing our driveway and walkway but I can tell you now that their business and customer service skills are seriously lacking. I'll update as things change. They never showed on Monday and it took a call from my husband at 7:30 pm before they said they'd come Tuesday around 1:00. 08/06: They finally came today to dig up the driveway a little after 1:00 so I'll bump them up to 2 stars. If they complete the job satisfactorily in the time promised, I'll bump them up to 3 stars. Down the road, if the pavement holds up I'll bump them up to 4 stars. Unfortunately, unless they do something above and beyond, their lack of customer service and communication is going to cost them at least one star.
