I had purchased a Rolex watch from an AD in NY. I had to get a link removed from the bracelet and going to NY would be a ling ride. I decided to go to Martin Jewelers as they are very close to my business. I met Scott and he was very helpful. He showed me different watches there and didn't try to upsell anything. 5-STAR SERVICE/EXPERIENCE I have been researching/shopping for a certain brand watch. I went to the watch brand's website to call a few authorized dealers and Martin Jewelers was one of them. Martin Jewelers was my 5th call. Right off the bat, I was impressed with the receptionist (Patsy) treating me warmly and getting me Scott immediately about my inquiry. Not only did Martin Jewelers have the watch in stock, Scott was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Scott was not "pushy" at all. After calling /visiting a few other authorized dealers and reading Yelp reviews, I decided to go with Scott and Martin Jewelers. I was not disappointed. When I went to the store to pick up the watch, I first met Jeff who offered me something to drink. Jeff was very friendly. I didn't realize later that he was the manager of the store. He just seemed very down-to-earth to be the "manager" of the store. He treated me like anybody else, no snobbery for a high-end/luxury store - that shows a lot of character. When Scott showed me the watch, he carefully explained to me the little details and history about the watch. We also talked about other brands and how long he's been in the watch industry. Scott is well-informed and a good resource. Scott could have easily sold me a higher-priced piece but after talking to me, he told me that the one I chose is a more contemporary choice and better suited for me than the traditional models. I purchased an OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch at Martin Jewelers on 10/8. Just as many Yelpers mentioned before, Scott is very friendly and knowledgeable about all kinds of watches. It's not my first time to purchase OMEGA watches, his professional attitude and the way he treats every customer reminded me of another sales associate I liked to work with when I lived in Long Island. Should be zero. Took a brand new watch (that was a holiday gift) there for a battery replacement and the repair person loosened the minute hand. Then instead of tightening it before it could fall, she purposefully showed me and my partner the loose minute hand, shaking the watch until it fell off. To her surprise she could not take off the glass to repair it and had to give it back with the broken minute hand. Very untrustworthy. Would never go back for any type of service. read more

All around amazing experience. I walked in there a couple months ago looking for a really sought after timepiece. I was wearing sweatpants. Dealt with Jeff and Scott and they were great to work with. When I go shopping at an up scale place for jewelry, cars etc... I always make it a point to be under dressed. So many people brush you off or don't take you seriously. I went to Martin's because they are a Authorized Breitling dealer. I was greeted by Scott. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained all the different watches we looked at. I decided on one and he agreed to put it aside for me. When I came back a week later - Scott was ready to get me fitted for my brand new Breitling. Lady who answered the phone recognized that I had an accent and immediately started asking me where I was from. I write this grudgingly because we really enjoy supporting local small business. My husband bought a ring for me to celebrate our child's birth, using that months birthstones. It mirrors one he bought for our older son. I received the ring in January. Within a few weeks, a stone fell out, and I brought it back. The staff was apologetic and within a few days, my ring was fixed, they cleaned my wedding rings when I came in. No charge for fixing. Fast forward another month, six weeks- another stone fell out. Now, I don't wear this ring daily like I do my engagement or wedding band, maybe on occasion, at most two mornings a week. I was annoyed but back again with two small children again to get it fixed. They took the ring, and a few days later it was fixed, and I went back to pick it up, again. Fast forward to month five. I don't wear my birthstone rings unless its a special occasion because I was afraid of having more stones fall out. Well I wear it one time in June to a family graduation party. The next morning I wake up, pick up my rings and notice not one but two stones now are missing. I bring it in June 27. I just got the ring back today, almost a full month later. To be fair, they called Tuesday or Wednesday, but this was the first time my two small kids and I could go pick it up. A month to repair this was way too long in my book, especially when i had a 3-4 day turnaround before.This time, they charged me. I asked to speak to a manager. Said manager explained it was a soft stone hence the stones coming loose. I showed him the original ring my husband brought with him, explained its the ring the new one was based off of and I hadn't had a problem in the three years I had it and wore it mostly daily. He then says well it is a harder stone and its also four pronged. I asked if there was a way to make it tougher or more stable so I could enjoy the ring and actually wear it. His answer was a little pretentious when he said your husband had a certain price point we stayed in- and I said immediately, I know, it's about a $600 ring. This isn't a cheap setting or fake ring you buy on Overstock. For a $600 ring, I'd think the stones would stay in and you would want to sell a product and stand behind it. Now the manager says they explained to my husband it was a softer stone but if that was the case, I don't think he would not have asked for a better setting to secure it. I'm disappointed in the way this ring has now turned out and that Martin Jewelers does not stand behind their work and their pieces. If a ring is five months old and has had four stones fall out when the owner barely uses it, you need to accept responsibility and find a solution. I was offered no solution, I had to pay for the work of a defective ring and now I'm stuck with a $600 ring I can't wear without having to worry about another repair. And I don't think $600 is inexpensive and I'm sure many other customers agree. I think everyone was cordial and its a nice team but I am disappointed and we won't be purchasing jewelry here in the future. read more
