I've been shopping at Vinhas and dealing with Helena for over 10 years. As stated by many, they are authorized dealers of many brands. Tag Heuer, Hamilton. Omega, Longines, Tissot, Oris, Mont Blanc, Movado, etc. The selection of each brand is great, and if I'm looking for something they may not have, they can likely source it if available from the manufacturer. First of all, I prefer doing business with small businesses, especially these days. When spending my hard earned good money on something like a watch, I like to enjoy the experience of the purchase. They were one of a few Hamilton authorized dealers years ago when I was looking to purchase an X-Wind, and that's where I found Vinhas. I bought the watch and she ordered me an extra strap. While going through the store, I also found my first Tag Heuer Aquaracer that I bought a few months later. Since then, I've brought friends and family back for other watches, they have always been accommodating, friendly, professional, and I have always enjoyed incredible service. I LOVE WATCHES! Their flagship boutique is presentable and very well put together. One of the best wristwatch authorized dealers in the area. Their watch selection is really good, I purchased 3 watches from them this year (One Seiko and 2 Hamiltons). Their Montblanc timepieces are exquisite!They are dealers for Omega, TagHeuer, MontBlanc, Seiko, Citizen, Tissot, etc.. they are also the only brick and mortar store I know that carries ORIS. Staff always helpful and will give you fair deals. You may find the same watch for a bit less online but their deals are not bad and I rather pay a bit extra for the luxury of seeing and trying on a wristwatch as well as getting the piece of mind from a real authorized dealer with "box and papers" and full warranty. read more

Bought a wedding ring for my wife years ago and was convinced to pay the premium for an EGL certified diamond. Was told that I'd be able to get full credit whenever I decided to upgrade. Went back a few months ago and was told that the EGL certificate is no longer good and the shady owner gave me a crazy low number for my trade-in. I simply can't recommend Vinhas. I really wish I would have had a better experience here but I DIDN"T: I came in to get a few watches resized and one watch fixed (but for all they know I'm there to buy something expensive). There were about 3 groups of customers in the store. One couple just finished with the a sales lady and before going back to her office, she told me: "someone will be with you in a minute". The other two sales people were busy tending to a couple of young girls and another woman. After waiting for 10 minutes, I looked at the sales lady in the office who was probably checking on her emails or what not. NOTHING. I got no attention. So I left. That was that and I am never coming back here. Nothing annoys me more than going into a business when there are people available to help and nope they just let you hang there. So for this lack of customer service they're getting 2 stars and I'm being generous. If they're busy, they should have simply said upfront and ask that I come back instead of completely IGNORING me! I was looking to buy a pair of watches by a brand owned by Swatch Group, and I wanted to buy from a authorized dealer- meaning that the watches are guaranteed to be authentic and comes with watch movement warranty, which is a big peace of mind when buying automatic watches. For watch buyers, it's definitely better to find a good retailer and build a relationship. So I did visit many watch retailers to find the one I could go to and trust. Having been to multiple dealers in Manhattan and Queens, they all are trying to maximize their profits off you. Although I am aware that stores in Manhattan has to make a few more bucks to cover paying crazy Manhattan rents, I just did not appreciate chatting with them, letting alone talking about what is possible. I found Vinhas Jewelers because they're an authorized retailer according to the watch brand's website, so I took a PATH train to Newark, walked 5 minutes to Vinhas, and let them know what I was looking for, and Helena was the lady who helped me. They did not have the model in store, but was able to order it for me and everything was reasonable. For a person like myself who does not enjoy acting, negotiating and bartering, they made it really reasonable and easy for me to purchase what I needed. Although one watch took a while to arrive since it was on back order (not Vinhas' fault), I really appreciated their the honesty and if and when I buy my next watch(es), as long as it's a brand Vinhas carries, I wouldn't flinch to hop on the PATH train again. read more

I rarely leave reviews on yelp unless iv had an exceptional experience, I walked in looking to do my xmas shopping for my wife and within a half hour Catherine my sales girl helped me get everything in one stop. She was so helpful and as soon as I explained my wife's style she made some really great suggestions. They have an excellent and fully stocked selection of both pandora and Alex and ani which saved me from driving around town to the malls and that. My experience at vinhas was super smooth and I walked outta of there knowing everything I purchased my wife would love. I came here to purchase a Portuguese gold necklace and cross for my godson and found the customer service to be excellent, everyone was very friendly and helpful. I did find that the prices were slightly higher than competing jewelry stores in Newark, but the owner was willing to match the price which I really appreciated! The selection in this store is incredible, they have everything you're looking for!! I will definitely continue to shop around when looking for a specific piece of jewelry, but I'm pretty confident the owner of this establishment will do what it takes to finalize the sale and that alone makes me happy. read more
